Guest Reviews
- Rimple (8/5): - Good
- Owain (4/5): - While I typically refrain from negative feedback, I feel compelled to address several concerning issues. The accommodations presented as dated, featuring a mattress that significantly impacted ease of use. Furthermore, an unidentified odor was present, and the absence of a toilet roll holder, coupled with the placement of the toilet roll on the floor, raised concerns. The provided Wi-Fi connectivity proved unreliable, failing to connect even to the in-room smart television. The condition of the towels suggested either a total lack of attention to cleanliness or it hadnt been replace since the previous occupants. The car park's pothole and items being left near fire exits further suggested a total disregard for health and safety. Overall, the experience did not meet expected standards.
- Kevin (4/5): - Reception staff friendly and sorted out key card that wouldn't work...room poor....
- Gary (6/5): - Acceptable for the money
- Shunilaben (4/5): - Although the sheets and towels were clean and bathroom reasonable the decor and flooring was dirty and decaying windows dirty Only one cup for a twin room Lift not working and room on 3rd floor Whole hotel needs a refurbishment No shampoo conditioner or shower gel even though advertised on website
- Janette (6/5): - We did like plenty of parking, warm greeting by check-in staff.
We did like the size of the room and bathroom. We loved having a fridge and long bench table, clean towels on the 2nd morning and bins emptied.
However, the place looks very dilapidated outside, and the bed was very uncomfortable.
- Nichola (8/5): Basic but ok for price - On entering it did smell funny. East check in. Lift not in use. Room was basic but clean. Check out was 10am but paid £10 to extend till 12
- Abdulhai (10/5): - Comfortable stay. Friendly staff. It was a cold night heater in the room was working.
- Michael (2/5): - I wish i read the reviews before i booked its a really old hotel the lifts didn't work and the room had a strong smell off PISS coming from the stain carpet the council must use it has a half way house to cause there was so many crackheads walking around
- Daryl (2/5): 😔 - You have to understand that for a price you get a room, I didn’t expect much for fifty quid and only wanted a shower, nap and heading off. It was the sort of place you want flip flops for the shower.
- Dave (2/5): More like a run down hostel - Got to the hotel 3rd floor room lift broken and looked like it had been for a long time the beds looked like they had been slept in.
The walls were covered in some sort of liquid splashes by the bed. The sides were all super dusty. The hoover had not touched the skirting boards in a year. The walls had plaster showing through from gouges. The carpet in the middle of the room had been cut into and replaced but not properly. Wouldn’t stay again especially after having to spend another £20 on bite cream and piraton from the beds
- Prince (8/5): - It absolutely good and refreshing
- Mandy (2/5): - This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff were grumpy and rude, the young guy eyes up the girls. The place was dusty and dirty. The lifts don't work. People smoked drugs outside the back and our hallway on the second floor smelt of drugs, gave me a headache and made me feel sick. Staff were rude when we asked for clean cups, we were charged for a fork, a plastic fork which melted and when we asked for another fork, we were huffed at 😡😡 never ever would I stay there again and neither should anyone else especially if you have children as the drugs smell bad around the inside of the hotel
- Martin (6/5): - Old and need refurbishment.
- Eric (10/5): Friendly staff, excelent price. - My brother is disabled and staff went above and beyond to accommodate him. The reception and cleaning staff were very friendly. The room was a little dated but it was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was an accessible one with walk in shower and plenty of grab rails. The hotel was cry good value at the price. We would use it again if we are in the area. The restaurant next door was good value and offered tasty food, it also had very friendly staff.
- Punit (4/5): - Upon arriving there were crack heads at the door, one guest picking his skin and wiping it on receptional area.
Girl on reception was polite so bravo to her.
The hotel is not a hotel is a like a hostel, rooms were very dirty, every inch of the mattress was broken lucky was only there for a few hours. Not worth the £40 paid do not book for a good night sleep. Great if your looking for storage if at work
- Vasil (6/5): Be careful - It is a very old facility 4 floors no working elevator. Single person on the front desk and for everything else. I do apologise but didn’t make any pictures. Only sockets are on the opposite side of the bed which means if you want to charge your phone during the night you should expect to run to your phone on the next morning to stop the alarm. Check the sockets for they in working order , because some of them simply not working and you could realise that your phone is with flat battery 10 min before you need to leave the room on the morning. One good thing is the hostel had a free parking, which is great for all professionals working away from home
- Ricque (2/5): - I booked the room online. I got to the hotel and pay for the room. Took the key went in there, the hole room was smelling of wee. Also had a baby with me and suitcase, push air. The lift was not working. I had to go upstairs to the 2 floor . Was horrible plus the heat, the weather.
- shaun (4/5): - nothink
- Megan (4/5): - I liked how close it was to a bus stop and restaurant, but its not very nice cleanliness wise, but its good if you don't really care and just want somewhere cheap to stay
- Ellen (8/5): - Good
- Ciaran (2/5): - Room was disgusting
Was meant to stay for 2 nights but stayed elsewhere for the Saturday night
- john (10/5): - Thought this hotel was great value for money. Had everything i needed for a good night's sleep. Fridge in the room was a bonus but also coffee making facilities tv, wifi, electricity points were all good. Room and shower room were clean All staff at reception and elsewhere were courteous, knowledge and helpful.
Woukd recommend as a budget hotel at a great price (I onky paid £43 for a Saturday night)
- Glory (2/5): - Poor and unkempt conditions. This needs looking into. Booked 2 nights, spent just 1 night. No hot water, dirty sink, with hair particles, used bath, not cleaned, Poor ventilated room.
- Michael john (10/5): - Superb with an excellent Indian restaurant underneath, with a proper mixed bar , locals are very friendly and the food is the best
For the miney i would say well worth it
Well done guy's and keep up the good work
5*****
- Peter (2/5): - Smell of smoking blowing from outside into the hotel though the open diors the lift wasn't working so hard to climb 3 flight's of stairs with my suitcase. Very noisy during the night
- Michael (8/5): Cheap and cheerful - Building looks a bit shabby but bed was clean and comfortable
- Léa (2/5): - Do not stay at this property. I found bedbugs in my bed
- Carol (4/5): - Arrived 9pm on a light summer evening. Had to walk through men sitting around aimlessly. Check in polite and efficient. Lifts out of order. Room on 3rd floor. Building could do with some love. Room basic but with damaged sides. Plastic chair. Dirty windows. Rundown bathroom. Rusty towel rail. Tea & coffee. Headrest grubby. Bed ok. Linen clean.
- Michael (2/5): - I am disabled, can’t access lift 3 floor, not clear room, look same very old
- Jahanzeb (4/5): - We not stay hotel is dirty
- Narinder (2/5): - Over priced for a very basic room. Wifi only works if you stand by the door and not further inside so absolutely terrible.
- Ghulam (6/5): - Is ok
- Darryl (2/5): - Lift wasnt working the place was run down had to find some where else to stay
- Saira (2/5): Wouldn’t recommend - I booked premium room which was not premium at all. Very basic and the rooms looked ancient. I booked for 2 nights, however I checked out early due to my plans changing. I’m disappointed that I did not get a refund for the 2nd night.
- Eric (2/5): - Lift not working
Property too old and bad smell in the room
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This hotel is half hostel got woken by people fighting and police in back car park
- David (2/5): - DO NOT......I REPEAT DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL.
YES...I KNEW IT WAS A BUDGET HOTEL BUT IT IS CLEARLY BEING USED FOR HOUSING ASYLUM SEEKERS AND THE HOMELESS. I HAVE NO ISSUES AT ALL WITH THE OBVIOUS NEEDS OF THESE PEOPLE BUT I DO NOT THINK SOMEWHERE THAT IS OBVIOUSLY A PLACE OF 'REFUGE' SHOULD BE SHARED WITH PEOPLE LOOKING FOR A 'BREAK AWAY'. THE ROOM WAS AWFUL AND CLEARLY FLEA RIDDEN. I WAS BITTEN DURING MY STAY. I SENT A FORMAL COMPLAINT THROUGH INCLUDING PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE BITES OVER A WEEK AGO AND HEARD NOTHING. NOT EVEN AN AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF MY COMPLAINT
- Gareth (4/5): - Very average dated property.low maintenance.fridge didn't keep anything cold.low amount of tea/sugar/coffee supplied.expect you to purchase at reception.laughably expect a deposit for room damage when rooms haven't been upgraded/redone in years by appearance.expect you to vacate room by 10am,pay extra until 12.very poor in relation to metro Inn Falkirk I stayed in.its a very budget motel that served purpose but not very appealing
- Shain (4/5): - I liked nothing the bed I thought was going to break was never told I had to take I'd been to loads of hotels and never needed id and was refusing me to my room without it in the end I had to offer my bank card details incase I damaged the room it looked like it was already damaged half the lights not work the side table with kettle looked like it had paint spilt all over it not a pleasant stay walked along corridor and stunk of weed never stay there again I know it was £40 pound for deluxe room nothing deluxe about it at all
- Michelle (2/5): - Disgusting. Thats all there is to say.
- Jamie (2/5): Wouldn’t recommend to anyone - Awful smell all over the hotel - felt very unsafe and unclean
- Adam (2/5): - The room smelt like stale cigarettes dirty sheets and towels stains on walls floor ect
- Terence (6/5): Get what you pay for - A trip to see the grandchildren we decided to sleep in a hotel to make it easier all round, this place was cheap and with good reason, the place needs an overhaul, we didn't get much sleep due to staff talking loudly and some sort of trolley trundling down the hall early hours both nights, staff on desk were nice enough, a one off, wouldn't stay again.
- Patrik (10/5): - It was Good the bath is nice and the bed is so comfortable to sleep :)
- Daniel (2/5): - The place felt dirty and not safe. Very unclean room and everything looked damaged or stained
- Sophie (2/5): - Nothing it was awful will not be returning
- Gareth (2/5): - Disgusting did not stay left to go elsewhere
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Reception was friendly & efficient. Brought cup & glass to room as there was only 1 of each in double room.
Lift hasn't worked in a long time so had to carry bags up to 3rd floor. Not a problem for us but may be for others.
Room was adequate & clean but mattress was diabolical. Worst I've ever tried to sleep on. A shame as otherwise it would have been ok for the money.
- Inguna (8/5): - Lieliski.
- David (8/5): - Staff are always lovely
- DAVID (6/5): Tired but good value - Lift out of service so third-floor room an issue with no offer of help. Room a bit tired and hot water seemed scared of the height, but once it got going the shower was good. Overall, good valve.
- Verified traveler (8/5): My stay at metro inn - The TV didn't work, cleanliness was decent, you can hear everything, so trying to sleep was hard, also the mattress you could feel the springs in places, so it was a very pleasant night sleep
- Paul (2/5): - It was dirty with a smell of damp and the lift was out of order and despite my being obviously disabled the desk staff didn't tell me this until they took my money. As a result I had to book and pay for another hotel for the night. Avoid!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Not a good experience at all. Hotel had a weird smell and a number of unfriendly people standing around the back entrance. We were scared to walk in so drove round the front to enter.
- Gaynor (2/5): - Worst hotel I have ever been to in my life. Walking to my room it felt like I was walking through a hostel overseas. I have since been informed that this hotel has resident asylum seekers and homeless people. There kids crying past
- Kevin (10/5): - Love it. Peaceful
- Clara (6/5): - Cigarette smelling everywhere in the property and room
- Stephen (10/5): - Staff especially David really went out his way to make our stay as comfortable as he possibly could .. really polite professional and a real asset to your team
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Looks like they have a lot of homeless people being put up there.
- Anish (6/5): - The lift was out of order so, had to carry my luggage all the way to the third floor on stairs, no hot water in wash basin.
- Lily (2/5): - The rooms was an absolute disgrace, we had to switch rooms because the first one was dirty (not that the second one was much better) stayed there for one night then got a refund and switched hotel will never try book here again.
- Wendy (4/5): - The whole property looked very tired and in need of renovation. The lift was out of order and we had to use the stairs, in spite of myself being restricted in movements following surgery; although the lady on the desk did change us from third floor to second in light of this. There was evidence that the hotel is used as a hostel, with domestic fridges in rooms and signs directing occupants of times when kitchen access would be available. There was also lots of information posted to identify community support for clothing and hot meals.
The rooms were clean, but very tired. In the room we used, the mattress was worn out and very saggy. There were holes in the desk and the ceiling had been badly patched in several places. There was an unpleasant smell - something akin to 'the unwashed' which seemed to emanate from the carpet. The car park seemed unsafe, with numerous individuals meeting there - some in cars playing loud music. The fire alarm went of around 4 a.m., but before we had left our room this did stop again.
The staff we met however seemed pleasant enough and were helpful. We will not stay there again.
It is a shame as this hotel is in quite an affluent area of Walsall with large well maintained family homes and could offer a much better experience.
- Amandeep (6/5): - Everything good
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Terrible dirty place
- ick (8/5): - Location is good quite residential area, close .
Hotel is kept clean and comfortable stay, nice indoan restaurant, bar and food next door....Separate to hotel business,
staff are ok with bringing your food back.
Will stay again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Dissatisfied - This place its not a hotel its like a hostel smoking was kill me as soon as i walk tru the door. I walk in the room an had to talk back out
- Susana (4/5): - The hotel is used by local council to house homeless people and asylum seekers. It doesn’t feel very safe and its tired and not the cleanest. However, it is very cheap as long as you know what to expect.
- Stephen (4/5): Ex travelodge - The local council use this place to house homeless people
- Peter (2/5): so so so bad - Went here for one night and glad it was only one night. the pictures you see make the place look like the Hilton but trust me it anything but. the council put homeless people in here and I've nothing against this but the place was dirty and freezing we slept with our clothes on it was that bad. it dose not mention on the website that there are homeless people staying here and the towels where the size of a face clothes the bathroom had mould and loads of people hanging around drinking at night in the hotel avoid at all cost.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Dirty rooms and outside areas. Bed was 2 singles joint together almost fell down the middle. Overall not good experience
- laura (2/5): worst hotel in the west midlands - awful absolutely awful the guy on reception was beyond rude the place was full of drug addicts no hot water no internet like stated, the bed ditched in the middle to the point both of us kept rolling to the middle all night, arguements sirens doors slamming all night awful awful awful
- Richard (8/5): Great Food - The attached restaurant was excellent, the food and service top notch
- Pawel (6/5): - Ok
- Bruce (2/5): - I don’t suggest this place at all. I don’t have anything good to say about it. I knew I was in for an unwanted adventure when the lift (elevator) was out of order and the person at the desk did not even mention it or offer any apology for it being out of order. There was nothing exciting about hauling 3 pieces of luggage up 3 flights of stairs. This place is a dump. ☹️
- Roger (6/5): Friendly staff - Cheap n cheerful.
Free parking and wifi.
Friendly staff.
- Christopher (8/5): - Nice hot water for shower in the morning. Tv had plenty of viewing options and room heater good. Even had an Iron!
- Roger (6/5): Cheap n cheerful - Cheap n cheerful.
Free parking, decent wifi and friendly staff.
For what I paid I was happy with it.
- Shannon (6/5): - Coffee spills ect
Noisy
- Emman (2/5): - The environment was dirty, room was too cold, the heating was not working well. I was told to wait for 5 to 15 minutes and I waited for 45 min
- Kelly (2/5): Shocking - Bed was awful lumpy could feel the springs gave me and my partner backache bath was hot but broke as only the shower would work very basic staff and unhelpful put on top floor me and my partner were really unimpressed wouldn’t stay again
- Damian (8/5): Come economy stay - Comfy stay. No complaints for the price
- Danny (4/5): - not the best but not the worst best to say
- Andy (2/5): - This was not what we were led to believe the photos were considerably misleading, the hole place was run down and filthy everywhere was disgusting,
It was so bad we didn't stay we left immediately so lost our booking fee and had to find another hotel.
I would not have let my pet stay there.
- Jazpal (2/5): - Disgusting place
- ROBERT (2/5): - The staff i saw were very good., but i would rather not comment on the state of the place.i willnot be going there again
- Ian (6/5): - Dated, looked like people on benefits were living there, nothing around it apart from a bus stop and the bar was more like a casino with poker tables everywhere. Is That legal? I dont know!
- Paul (2/5): - Awful place. Almost a homeless shelter. Really unsafe for a lone female to stay there. Not very clean and very tired decor.
- Paul (6/5): - Basic facilities. Lift was not working.
Bed was not the best.
Room was basic but clean.
- Abdul (4/5): Very poor - Very poor
- pasqualel814 (8/5): Curry Goat 👌 - Bar and Grill. Tried to get in at the new Soho Tavern for a family birthday (10 of us) round the corner, but packed out, so went to the Grill. Glad we did as good was great and you could hear ourselves speak. We ordered a range of dishes and spread them across the table. Shout out to the curry Goat, chilli chicken and garlic prawn starter. All in all great food, good price good night out.
- michael (8/5): Value for money - Friendly staff
- Richard (8/5): Enjoyable stay - The staff work hard to provide clean and comfortable rooms. Good to have a fridge as well as tea and coffee making.
Great to have the bar and restaurant next door serving good value drinks and meals with excellent service.
Good parking.
- S (10/5): - Great stay
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Could not stay son felt so itchy and dirty we felt things crawling on us, snot and boggie spread on wall, with finger marks, so we checked out a few hours after check-in. It was really an awful place outside and inside. Being kind the building should be knocked down and rebuilt. Do not waste your money. Never book a room. here.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Absolutely awful. I’m going to go to the doctors tomorrow morning because everything was so unclean. I genuinely feel like I need a jab of some sort. DO NOT come here, regardless of price shown, it could never be worth it. Lift: broken, bath: dirty, chair: made me itchy? AWFUL! The service at the desk was excruciatingly slow, the ‘hotel’ stunk of smoke even though it says no smoking. Disgusting walls with holes, and substances on it. God bless everyone who had no choice but to stay. I left feeling itchy and unclean.
The rooms were uninhabitable. Checked in at 7pm and left at 9:30pm, horrible and waste of money.
Its not a hotel, not a hostel, just unclean building all round.
- Abidemi (4/5): - This last trip was my third. The beds are bad . The mattresses need to be replaced. My trip was room 302, the second room 322and third was room 305. All the mattresses are due for replacement. I have pains all over my body as I am typing now.
- Gary (2/5): - Nothing
- D'Arcy (8/5): - It was ok for just one night
- John (2/5): - You should advertise that this is an immigration hotel.
