Guest Reviews
- GaryNicky (2/5): - This place is not what is shown on Expedia. It is now a hostel for social housing. We were told they do not advertise on Expedia any more. But they let us pay and check in without telling us about the changes. We immediately checked out but have had to wait for a refund.
- Vince (8/5): Metro - Ignore the reviews, its cheap, very quiet, and ideal if you not expecting the savoy.
Only negatives was broken accessability toilets, and bad kitchen, but u get what you pay for.
Young guy on reception very helpful and friendly.
- darren (8/5): - Hard to locate good clean and warm very good
- Kathleen (8/5): - It was a good stay. Lots of places to visit
- Janice (2/5): - Rubbish
- stephen (2/5): - Never felt comfortable staying here.
- andygrinsdale (4/5): - Property was run down, night staff were very good we had a room that stunk of smoke and he changed us into a freshly decorated one immdiately, probably when it was built was a very good place but until its updated the prices are a.little high, not only that the price we paid was twice as much as the room should have been so expedia have or are conning people out of money for tje room rates, the reception said we had ut at a good price until i pointed out the we had paid half as much again through expedia, thats a little bit cheeky expedia..
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Grimy, smelly, uncomfortable, noisy.
- Leonard (2/5): - Nothing at all
- Len (6/5): - Toilets were dire, flush handles loose, very unhealthy & obviously not checked regularly many were blocked. Room wash basin no cold water (no drinking water) had to obtain it from the kitchen no breakfast bowls in the kitchen.
- Michael (6/5): - Stayed on night on way to tall ships race at Hartleypool, hotel is in the middle of an industrial estate so non picturesque, a lot of things in the room were broken or not working. Ok for one night stopover
- Arturas (4/5): - It's a budget hotel, room clean wasn't that bad ,but shared toilets and showers was disgusted.
- Michele (2/5): - From the moment we arrived it was clear that this property was used for homeless, addicts and other less fortunate types. The property was unclean, had blood on on blinds, rooms were not even half cleaned, the toilets that were in the coridors shared and basicaly a slightly up market port-a-loo, most of which smelt awful. Deffinatly NOT kid frindly and only realy for adults if you are desperate. Absolutly not worth anything near the price charged, infact you couldnt pay me enough to ever stay there again.
- Timothy (2/5): 1 star Hostel - The place is actually a bail/homeless hostel in the middle of an industrial estate. The "residents" wander the corridors at all hours making a racket. I had someone banging on my door at 2am looking for someone, then again there were people arguing and shouting at 4.45am.
This place should be a third of the price and aimed at backpackers who dont mind the obvious downsides. Certainly not suitable for families.
- Paul (10/5): - It was conveniently located for our needs and it was dog friendly
- Edward (2/5): - Run down and disgusting
- Verified traveler (2/5): Shocking Stay away! - Didnt even stay didnt have room that I booked. Gave me a key for someone elses room. Overall cheap but rather spend the extra £30 for something better.
- Marcus (8/5): - This venue is very basic ,is in need of refurbishment but is clean ,does the job and the staff were exceptionally helpfull
- Peter (6/5): Basic clean overnight stop - I knew this was originally a Formula 1 so it would be basic. First impressions are not positive - Ambience is not a word I would use in this context but room was clean with a big comfortable bed and BIG TV. Sink in the room and showers / WC down the corridor were clean and efficient. Photos showed kettle and tea/coffee but nothing provided now.
Hotel is in the middle of a trading estate with a Macdonald's within half a mile so come prepared. Would stay again as a basic bed for the night and good value for what you get.
- Damilola Tosin (10/5): - Metro Inn is very clean and friendly but I couldn't use wi-fi because my room location. Anything else thumbs up.
- Ben (6/5): As expected - Not much to say. The other reviews say it all. Friendly staff, quite noisy though. Handy for workers
- Dave (4/5): - Check in was easy and the man on the front desk was polite and helpful.
My room was dirty, where the cleaner had blatantly missed hoovering parts of it and wiping surfaces. My sink was dirty with all sorts on the top by the taps and in the plughole.
No batteries in TV remote. Wi-fi password not present. No kettle or refreshments in the room.
- darren (8/5): - It suited my needs and staff friendly
- Brian (8/5): 5 Stars for Staff at Stockton - Excellent staff. Basically the room is the same standard as Travelodge ( which is usually 100% more expensive) but without a en suite bathroom
- Verified traveler (8/5): Time for improving - This property has recently undergone a change of ownership, so taking that into consideration, the current staff there are doing well. I stayed in 2 different ground floor rooms and the beds were both comfortable, the property in itself needs improvement. Renovations of some rooms into ensuite would attract more custom.
I think it is time to lose the bright door colours.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great value for money. I was satisfied with the services, the rooms were very clean and the heaters are great
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I like value for money .i dislike the location
In addition the reception staff could be a bit friendlier ,and volunteer information to add to comfort of the customer
- Ryan (8/5): - Nice porter Andy
- Ryan (8/5): Good night - Andy was night porter nice lad
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great value.
Facilities are a little tired.
Staff were matter of fact.
I didn’t expect much else.
Served its purpose for me and would. Stay there again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Didn’t like anything about the property, it was dirty toilets and showers were dirty door had a hole in it there was something furry growing in one of the drawers at the side of the bed, we only managed to stay two nights out of our week couldn’t take any more
- Paul (2/5): Even if you have a booking, we dont have any rooms - After being turned away despite having a booking we did not try and check in the second night,
- Paul (2/5): - We were turned away, being told that even if we did have a booking they didnt have a room for us. had to go book a premier inn instead. luckily the cost was low so it was not so much of a hit. as we were taking part in a 24hr race we didnt need the fuss, the inconvience was the extra cost included and the fact we had to travel further to the track
- Verified traveler (8/5): - simple twin bed room with a sink, tea making facility and a good sized digital tv. the toilets are shared and are kept clean...the person on reception was pleasant and helpful. just one tiny niggle the beds we had had no mattress protection however we were only staying one night and at the price over all this property offers excellent value
- Charlotte (8/5): - Guy on reception was really nice. Room small but clean. Beds comfy. Good value for money for overnight stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - my point of view that is not hotel is like you live renting house with ruf landlord beds like very old bathroom very old my room handle coming of loose screwso
- Claire (6/5): A last option - Very basic. Thin, worn mattress, tea stained cups, filthy toilets. The shower was very powerful... Do not chose a smoking room unless you are a chain smoker. People say you get what you pay for but for £5 extra I had a lovely, clean, comfy stay in Blackpool that included a cooked breakfast...
- Fred (6/5): It could be better - This is not the first time I stay in this particular hotel, this time I have realised the room has not been hoovered, no spoon supplied for tea/coffee no control for the TV, and around one in the morning someone has dogs (I don't have a problem with dogs) they started barking for a while and the owner talking loudly as if he is at home, I was not happy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean and simple. The night manager was a lovely man easy to talk to and helpful about the local places to eat also he couldnt do enough to h elp me. Definitely will stay again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - some staff uninterested and unhelpful, poor lighting in rooms and difficult to use disabled facilities. asked for a door knock just before night staff went off duty which didn't happen, and phone alarm playing up so I was up very late. some of my medications have to be kept in fridge but still went off before I could use them. charging silly prices for drinks so I just drank water after I had used the only 3 I had in my room. however if you take your own stuff and know in advance to do so, cheap and cheerful. would use again to visit my family in Stockton. beds thin and low double with bunk over, there was only me in the room so god knows how three would have fitted in. disabled watch the mat as you walk in as if you cant see properly like me you could fall. lighting poor outside as it is in an industrial area. now I know the layout and how far to the nearest "working" disabled loo/shower room but still not sure how to use the shower properly as there were no instructions big enough to be seen. tv great, sink in corner with two large mirrors so great for makeup but only one chair. room very hot, but only one socket next to kettle at the other side of the room so difficult to do your hair. window opens into the room causing less space. finally could do with a face lift.
- John (10/5): - Excellent helpful staff , and friendliness.
Excellent check in times.
Good room.
Very informative staff at hotel.
- Mark (4/5): Could be cleaner - Bathrooms need a good jet wash pretty dated, but I needed somewhere urgent.
You get what you pay for.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly staff rooms are clean, would stay there again
- mark (10/5): All Metro inns should be this good - Stay at a few metro inns and out the lot I find this the best.Tea making facilities, flat screen tv on wall, simy the best
- John (10/5): - Excellent friendly staff , and Very helpful staff.
Excellent smoking rooms.
Very good hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Convenient location for work. Large flat screen TV
- Mark (6/5): contractors lodge - budget hotel is not really what this hotel is about ? it is however cheap it mainly caters for contractors and eastern European at that, getting the picture ? the outside of hotel full of workers drinking beer and smoking staff consists of one receptionist and cleaners that come in the afternoon the reception to busy to tend to any of your needs ? asked for towels and extra pillow stopped 3 nights still waiting room smelt of stale smoke room quite small and no bedroom furniture to mention two small chest of draws and coat hanger rail communal toilets and shower units ( don't ask) communal kitchen which was slightly cleaner than the toilets two vending machines at reception one for drinks one for snacks
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Pleasant stay value for money welcoming staff local to shopping
- Melanie (4/5): - Charged £1 per milk carton and £1 per 2sachets of sugar
Not really acceptle when you booked three rooms for two weeks!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Work - Basic but suits the needs
