The kitchen staff (visible through an open view kitchen) were lovely and very attentive. The hotel was nothing but outstanding!

- Joan Karen (10/5): - We very much enjoyed our stay at 66 Saint Paul’s. Maximillian, who was working when we first arrived at the hotel, could not have been more helpful. He made wonderful restaurant suggestions as well as gave us a concise history lesson, guiding us toward which sites we shouldn’t miss. The look of the hotel is elegant and grand, even though it is not large. We enjoyed the quality and variety of the breakfast selection and the servers were lovely. The roof top pool is a wonder, given the age of the hotel/palazzo building, and the view from the pool patio unsurpassed, especially as the sun was setting. Thank you for a memorable stay!

The room (601) and building were clean and comfortable. And the location of the hotel is ideal for getting anywhere you want to go.
- SUSAN (6/5): - The property has been nicely restored with lots of lovely old stone features . Reception area pretty and calm . The welcome drink was appreciated . The location is good. We were very disappointed with the “ courtyard view “ room . The courtyard refers to the hotel reception / lobby which is what you would see if you left your room and looked over the rails . It was impossible to open the shutters on the windows as this meant you were in full view of any passing guests and also we were facing the staircase for anyone to see straight into our room through the clear glass . We had to stay in darkness with no natural light or fresh air . The aircon is not allowed to be used at this time of year due to local laws so we got very little sleep as it was hot and claustrophobic . The shower leaked and flooded the entire bedroom when used it. I spoke to staff who were pleasant but essentially just agreed that these issues are not ideal but said they were fully booked so no other room available. We were given a fan . I’m sure the other rooms were lovely but ours was not . We have had very little sleep and are returning home exhausted .

Greeted by Maximilian and a glass of Prosecco in a beautiful building far exceeded our expectations! Our room was beautiful and we had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay in Valletta. The daily breakfast offer was plentiful and delicious. Thank you to the whole team who made our stay so wonderful. We would definitely recommend for a couples break in the heart of Valletta.

If you want the best view and private terrace then go for the penthouse suite 601. Thoroughly recommended and would go back tomorrow.

- June (10/5): - My husband and I stayed here for four nights. Our room was amazing! We were in room 601. Stunning view and the room was extremely spacious and very clean. We sat on the terrace every morning and enjoyed the view and had our coffee. The breakfast had a nice selection. All of the staff at the hotel were very friendly and always helpful with any thing we needed. The location was also perfect. Many restaurants and cafes around the corner. All of Valletta is walkable. The ferries are close to see many sights as well. This was our favourite boutique hotel in all of our travels.

Service was friendly and attentive throughout and the location was great for access to all the sights and restaurants. The breakfast was excellent with a good range of food for a continental buffet. The owner has overseen a fantastic job in creating a beautiful hotel from the remains of an old palazzo. A few minor items of feedback to improve the customer experience: - the water in our shower did not drain quickly enough and could flood an area of the bathroom floor - the sun beds and umbrellas on the pool deck need replacing as two of the umbrellas (of 3) were broken and there were issues with some of the beds. That said, we had a lovely experience overall and would recommend

The staff could not do enough for you and were always friendly and courteous. The only negative we felt was having to pay for our hot drinks at breakfast, whilst not a ,passive issue just something we had no ever experienced before.

Some street noise in city facing room, so be aware if early to bed or a light sleeper.

We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we stepped foot into the hotel which continued throughout our stay despite only being there for a night. The room was very clean and we enjoyed a quick swim with the sunset enjoying the view of the port. The location of the hotel is perfect and even allowed us to leave our bags after check out to enjoy exploring the city without carrying our luggage on a hot day. Would definitely recommend and will be returning to the hotel when we are next in Valletta.

- Patrick (10/5): - My stay in 66 St Pauls was brilliant. I have never been to Malta before, so when a business meeting in Malta happened, I took the opportunity to stay another 4 days there. It is always difficult finding a hotel in a place that you have never been to; where do you go? what sort of hotel? will the area be good? will there be local restaurants around? will the staff be friendly and knowledgeable? will the place be clean? After careful consideration, I chose 66 St Pauls and was not disappointed. The hotel is on an typical Valetta street, long, straight, with tall buildings. A small entrance opens up into a grand atrium. Stone walls, marble floors. Immediately greeted by friendly staff, offered (gratis) coffee, and a general chat. Shown to my room, air conditioning and other controls demonstrated. The room was spacious, well decorated, clean. Large clean bathroom with high volume shower, always important. My room had no views, which didn't matter to me. There are amazing views over the grand harbour from the small pool area at the top of the hotel. Breakfast is the only meal the hotel provides, a wonderful continental style breakfast (including cold meats and fish), always beautifully laid out every morning. The hotel is 200 yards from the main street of Valetta (but you don't hear a sound from the street). There are dozens of good restaurants in the immediate area. And lots of Valetta and Malta to explore. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, and will stay again next year

Wonderful breakfast included. Would def recommend. Met a couple who used and raved about the spa. No ambiance in the lounge but plenty options nearby . Always prefer a heated pool but probably not good for cost or environment.

We would say the 66 St Paul’s is in the ideal location for an extremely enjoyable stay in Valletta and if you are lucky enough to get room 601 you will be well rewarded.

- Ronnie (10/5): - I absolutely loved the hotel. The staff were so friendly from the moment we arrived until the second we left. Our flight was delayed so we arrived at the hotel later than expected. As soon as we walked through the door we were shown to a seating area, offered complimentary drinks and left to take in the surrounding. All too often you have to stand at reception to go through the booking in process, not here, far better. The breakfast was excellent with freshly made pastries, fresh bread and all you could want for. Staff were so helpful and friendly, giving advice on places to visit and booking what ever you wanted. Would I book here again for some winter sun, oh yes! Absolutely perfect break.

Seriously just incredible. The staff was sooo friendly and helpful from check-in to check-out and in between. Breakfast (continental) was delicious, plenty of items and beautifully laid out. You could smell the croissants in the morning from your room! (Or at least I could).

The only criticism I have is when we were there the reception desk was vacant for large portions of the day, so it was difficult to ask questions or get help. Otherwise it was a good stay.

Sure enough the suite and hotel were terrific, sadly we were in Valetta for this summer's heatwave and the lift to the penthouse was not working and wouldn't be for our entire stay. Consequently, the only access to our suite was via stairs to the roof and then up a tiny spiral staircase with uneven steps in 40 degree heat. A gift (bottle of wine or two, complementary spa treatments etc) or the offer of a small partial refund would have been in order I would have thought but nothing was offered and, being very English, we didn't ask. Other than that a lovely hotel with great staff.

Breakfast was small, but everything baked fresh and a few hot items available. Nice little pool on the rooftop with nice views. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Didn't want to leave! - This was hands down one if my favourite hotels that I've ever stayed in. Super clean, such comfortable and beautiful rooms (amazing power shower, lively toiletries and comfy beds). Perfect breakfast. Amazing view from roof area, great location for walking around - great bars and restaurants all around. So we felt very safe, but also quiet in the hotel itself. Full of charm and character but most importantly the team are so helpful, warm and lovely. Especially the guys on the front desk! We honestly didn't want to leave!

The hotel is beautiful and is situated in a perfect location for exploring Valletta. There were plenty of restaurants, bars, and cafes nearby, but the hotel was quiet and street noise did not carry into the rooms. We also very much enjoyed the spa and the rooftop spa. We would definitely come back and stay again!
- David (10/5): - What an absolute gem this hotel is. Right in the heart of Valletta but also very quiet. All the tourist attractions are within a short walking distance from the hotel. The hotel itself is clean and the room we had overlooked the harbour with stunning views. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. George and Mary Kay were the two people we had the most interaction with and they were happy to book restaurants, tours and give general help and advice although as I said everyone was excellent. I have travelled the world over the years and would rate this hotel in my top 5.

It lobby and room were great. The location in the heart of Valletta which allowed us to easily navigate around the city! We would definitely recommend staying there if you are visiting Valletta!

If you book it it’s in the heart of the latter just a stones throw away from the main street which will take you no more than two minutes to walk.

- Anastasia (10/5): - Firstly, location. Valletta is the perfect place to stay in Malta, and this hotel is in the heart of it. Very close to lots of shops, restaurants, bars and cultural sites. Plus there are many very good transport links within a 5 minute walk - lots of buses plus the ferry. Secondly, the hotel and its staff were super helpful and accommodating in every way. They let us check in early, use the hotel amenities after we checked out, gave us local recommendations etc. they were also all super kind and welcoming, and always happy to help! Finally, the hotel itself. Beautiful, clean, elegant. Lovely big, clean rooms equipped with molton brown toiletries, towels, bath robes, sewing kit, a safe, complementary daily bottled water and more. High ceilings, good lighting and very effective air conditioning. I would recommend getting a room with city or sea view, definitely worth the slight extra cost. The pool is just what you need after a long day exploring Malta, and the pool area was always quiet with the option to order poolside drinks anytime. If you are looking for a place to stay in Malta, I couldn’t recommend this place more.
