Guest Reviews
- David (10/5): Staff and food Fantastic as always great place to stay - Stayed in the house rooms clean and tidy
- Jacqueline (7/5): Good Spot - Location, food, staff and cleanliness Twin beds were slim, thinner than a single and I thought I may fall out during the night. Pillow was hard, suggest feather pillows would be better. Beds were soft and comfortable, even if thin.
- Cathy (10/5): - Everything was great, Breakfast was Fantastic loads of options and staff very helpful would stay here again
- Margaret (9/5): Clean, well positioned property and handy for ferry to Belfast. - Positioned next to the shore. I only stayed one night and didn’t see the rest of the house but the room was clean and comfortable. Staff waited for me as I arrived late.

- Dekker (10/5): Top hotel! - Het uitzicht, het ontbijt en de ontzettend vriendelijke en behulpzame medewerkers. Heel goede service! Niets, alles was top
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Yvonne (7/5): Food was good and reasonably priced and the location was convenient for the ferry. - Happy atmosphere about the place, friendly staff. The turn into the hotel from the road was very tight and car park small.
- Browne (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Patricia (7/5): Comfortable clean and friendly - location to town and walkable room was at front of house on ground floor made it difficult to get a longer sleep in the morning with some guests leaving early and people talking in the hall
- Dennis (10/5): -
- Regular trav (8/5): -
- RICHARD (8/5): Ideal location and price for my needs. - Perfect location for town centre and hospital. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent free WiFi. Breakfast smelled delicious but due to a medical appointment I couldn’t partake on this occasion. The in room kettle has a short power lead. The only place I could find to plug it in was on floor under the desk. Could be a safety hazard if forgotten about.
- Stephen (10/5): - Staff and food were great would stay again
- Long (8/5): Pleasant and comfortable. Ideal for ferry the next day. - Very clean and comfortable. Close to town centre and nice staff.
- Innes (8/5): -

- Mary (10/5): Overnight with Dinner and Breakfast - Both Dinner and Breakfast were 5*, Bed was most comfortable and the view was excellent. Everything was to our liking.
- Caroline (10/5): Staff we very friend and accommodating, we were going to be gone before breakfast and they offered us a take away lunch - We stayed overnight for the ferry and it was perfect perfect for our needs, location, cleanest hotel we stayed on for the 10 days we were in Scotland

- 483lizo (10/5): A birthday surprise - Spent the Holiday weekend at Craignelder Hotel and we were pleasantly surprised at how friendly all the staff were. On checking out the menu, we decided to make a reservation for an evening meal. We were very impressed by the presentation of the dishes. The generous proportions and the quality were outstanding. We hope to make a return visit and have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to friends and family.
- Neill (8/5): Great stay, great location and would recommend. - Great location on sea front, parked my Motorcycle right outside the, also parking at rear.
Breakfast was great but lacking in haggis for a full Scottish.
Didn’t eat here at the evening but it looked great and scores high on trip advisor, so I missed out on that.
I will stay again if in the area. Not a complaint but an observation, the power shower was quite noisy which didn’t bother me but was concerned about other guests hearing it.
- Laurence (8/5): -
- Karen (9/5): Brilliant hotel for the start of the Kirkpatrick Cycle Way - Location
Staff
Good Nothing to dislike
- John (9/5): Fantastic Hotel - Very clean with modern decor. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. The staff were all lovely and friendly The outside of the building didn't look great so we were pleasantly surprised when we went in. The accessible room was clean and comfortable but the space between the bed and bathroom was a bit tight for the wheelchair. There were grab rails in the bathroom but no shower seat
It was slightly overpriced

- Downie (9/5): Very friendly and relaxed stay. - Always very friendly staff at Craignelder, very comfortable and excellent food.
The situation of the hotel is excellent both for access and the outlook over Lochryan. A bit restricted in parking for resident guests at the hotel especially when there are events otherwise I can't complain.

- THE GREAT GONZO (10/5): - Good breakfast , clean rooms
- Ed (8/5): Excellent family hotel - The staff are excellent, really could not be better; it is clearly a well locally run buisness. The restaurant was amazing and the food was much more than I could expected for the price point. The sea view was excellent and the room really quite decent. Parking was easy enough (off season) in the surrounding roads as the onsite parking is limited. The shower was decent too. For me other than one negative aspect this is a 10/10 hotel I'd make a lot of effort to come back to. I'm not sure how one solves this, they've clearly tried. by underlays etc but noise made me sleep poorly. From snoring, speaking, the restaurant, doors and some kind of mechanical noise.
- Paul (10/5): Excellent - much better than expected - Food was excellent as was room. All very clean modern and all facilities required
- Joanna (8/5): very enjoyable - comfortable bed, excellent breakfast, pleasant staff shower was rather small
- patrick (10/5): - Made us feel very welcome and evening meal was excellent All was good
- THE GREAT GONZO (10/5): - Freshly cooked breakfast to order Nothing
- Hugh (9/5): Excellent hotel, staff VG. VG breakfast & choices. Unlike many hotel rooms the lights perfect. - Clean, tidy, good room & facilities. Abba at 9am ...too much like disco music while having breakfast. No sound or very low sound.
- Michelle (10/5): Perfect stop if you’re traveling around Scotland. - Stunning little place, and we got a gorgeous room overlooking the sea. Staff were extremely friendly and hard working. We arrived during busy dinner time and they didn’t have an issue with seating us for a 2 course meal. The food was stunning too! We had breakfast next morning and it was cooked to perfection! Room got a little chilly at night but it wasn’t a big issue at all.
- Jacqueline (9/5): Lovely staff . Excellent good. First class - Lovely view of loch and walking distance to town Room a bit small. It had been refurbished and was decor was lovely.

- Pat (8/5): Staff were very friendly, premises were clean and comfortable. - Breakfast offered a good variety of cooked and uncooked dishes. Portions were very generous. It would have been nicer to have better toiletries in the bathroom. I use Lidl liquid soap at home but it would be more of a treat to have a “posher” brand when on a break.
- Sharon (8/5): - Welcoming staff, comfortable room, lovely dinner and overall good value for money.
- David (9/5): - Location,close to town centre
- Fiona (9/5): Warm friendly and lovely food and pleasant staff - Everything Only a very small point that the hall n stair n landings could do with a paint.

- Kristen (4/5): Just ok - The view from my room was amazing Radiator didn’t work. Told the staff 2xs and they either said it’s on a timer or tried to boost it from the kitchen. Either way I slept in my coat all night shaking. The bathroom was insanely tiny. Worse than an airplane. The unusable radiator had a handle that went halfway over the toilet. At 120lbs I struggled to sit without hitting my hip. The handle when I finally sat touched my chest so sitting up you have to get up sideways. I never seen anything like that. Especially not for $100 a night.
- Grant (10/5): -
- John (9/5): -
- Mary (9/5): - Breakfast, and dinner was amazing, rooms lovely and bright .We were in an annexe of the hotel, it was a few doors from restaurant of hotel it wasn’t a hassle.
- Sean (8/5): Perfect stop over - Very clean and clearly popular with the locals which is always a good sign! Room was clean with everything you'd need for a night's stop over. Nothing really. Room was relatively small and wouldn't be great for a few days but for a night's break it was ideal.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Great place - Great location N/A

- christine (8/5): -
- Hans (8/5): Nice hotel. Good for busy travellers. - Friendly people who wanted to provide service. The view of the room was on the back of the property. The front view is fabulous, the back view not so much.
