• Yves (2/5): Nuit blanche à Middelbourg - Le logement est très bien situé dans le centre piétonnier de Middelbourg. Il est cosy. Le système de boîte à clé est pratique. Les hôtes répondent rapidement aux demandes. 2 gros problèmes : 1-Les couchages : les convertibles du salon ne sont pas confortables. La chambre sous les combles n'est pas du tout adaptée à des adultes. Impossible de bouger ou se retourner sans se cogner. La chaleur y est étouffante même au mois de mai. 2-L'isolation phonique est catastrophique. Il y a un café concert et une boîte de nuit juste en face : impossible de dormir avant 5h du matin. Peut être est ce plus calme en semaine.

• Kathryn (6/5): We enjoyed our short stay in this lovely flat even though there were difficulties with steep stairs for those not so abl - Very quirky & clean. Nice touches with cow stools Didn’t realise it had a steep staircase with no handrail ,on entering home. My sister walks with a stick & can barely bend her knees so once we were in we stayed there until checkout the next day. It also meant she needed to sleep on the bed settee which was not the most comfortable.

• Ingrid (7/5): Prima verblijf, onverwacht stil (op een woensdag) - ligging en stilte, goed bed, functioneel ik was er voor gewaarschuwd, maar er is een kerkklok die elk half uur slaat. Niet heel gezellig of zo. Niet geschikt voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn ivm steile trappen.
• Erik (6/5): Leuke locatie met alles aanwezig maar erg gehorig in de nacht. - Mooie ligging midden in het centrum met alles wat nodig was aanwezig , maar wat ook lawaai gaf s’nachts van het poppodium omdat het slecht geïsoleerd was boven. Het was koud en je kon zelf de verwarming niet warmer zetten en ondanks dat we gastvrouw appten met de vraag of de verwarming hoger kon werd het niet warm.
• Alexander (6/5): Functioneel verblijf midden in het centrum van de stad - Prima locatie in het centrum van de stad. Karakteristiek pand. Heel opgeruimd en schoon. Inchecken om 17:00 vind ik nogal aan de late kant. Slechts twee cups om koffie mee te maken vond ik ook een beetje karig. Aan de andere kant was wel alles wat ik verwachtte aanwezig.
• Jansen (6/5): pas dingue - Le lieu était dans l'extrème centre L'appartement était mal équipé, pas de four ni de micro-onde. Le bruit des boites de nuit à coté était horrible et celà n'est pas mentionné. Pas de moyen d'aéré dans la cuisine salon, quand nous sommes arrivé ils avaient peint une porte et ça sentait le vernis dans tout l'appartement, aucun moyen d'aéré, très désagréable. Les draps en plus de ça n'étaient pas propre.
• Karin (8/5): Leuk appartement op een geweldige locatie! - De locatie is geweldig. We mochten al veel vroeger dan de inchecktijd onze bagage neerzetten. 1-persoonsbed was heel erg zacht en voelde wiebelig. Het is behoorlijk gehorig (geluiden van buiten).
• Monique (8/5): Genieten - De ligging van het huisje. Midden in middelburg. Het was ook heel schoon en verzorgd. In de beschrijving staat dat er 2 kamers zijn, maar dat vonden wij niet kloppen. Er is 1 kamer en een zolder die vrij laag is en beter geschikt is voor kinderen vanaf 9 jaar. Wij hadden dit geboekt omdat we 2 kamers wilden. Maar de chambrette was wel heel gezellig en knus.

Geluid technisch kan beter, bijv gevel/dakisolatie tegen lawaai van buitenaf. Liggen wel oordoppen, maar dit is niet geschikt voor iedereen. Lichtknopje om vanaf boven licht aan te doen om naar beneden te lopen, werkte niet of miste. dit is wel belangrijk gezien de trap best steil is en zonder trapleuning

Maar, een uurtje voor aankomst moest ik van de verhuurder € 3,90 toeristenbelasting (incl. € 0,90 paypal kosten) overmaken aan de verhuurder anders kreeg ik de sleutelcode niet. Van wie krijg ik dit dubbel betaalde terug?

• Naskalina (10/5): - Dat we nog zo laat er terecht konden, de communication was perfect. De kinderen vonden het geweldig, vooral dat ze boven konden slapen. Zo knus en gezellig sfeer, en dat er koffie en thee was ideaal. Het was mega netjes, fijne hand doeken. Lieve mensen waar we de sleutel aan konden afgeven. Het is zeker de moeite waard om er weer naartoe te gaan. Niks op aan te merken.
• Renout (7/5): Bedbugs en koude nacht+douche - Dicht bij Centrum. Alles zag er op eerste gezicht netjes verzorgd uit! Sleutel te pakken uit sleutelkluis met code. Kreeg deze code netjes via Whatsapp, maar pas nadat toeristenbelasting was betaald. BEDBUGS, heb nu rode plekken op mijn benen. Veel stof rondom het bed. Zwarte plekken (schimmel) in de vele hoekjes. Douche lijkt een soort aan/uit te zijn, bijna op heetste stand springt hij pas naar warm / ineens heet. En ik had het enorm koud deze winteravond, waarschijnlijk omdat thermostaat beneden snel op temperatuur was gezet terwijl het boven nog niet warm was en ik een dun dekbedje had. Lawaai vanuit stap publiek uit de stad, maarja je zit bij het centrum...

• Marcel (6/5): - Mooi appartement met een ruime woonkamer/keuken. Ligging in het centrum is fijn waardoor je snel bij de restaurants of café op het plein bent. Verwarming bleek niet aan te staan. Bij aankomst al wat frisjes en in de nacht (eind november) niet meer aangenaam, volgende ochtend ook geen warm water. Na melding alsnog snel herstelt maar toen was het voor ons eigenlijk al te laat. Ligging in het centrum brengt ook het geluid van het centrum met zich mee. Slaapplekken hebben hier behoorlijk last van, dus vergeet je oordoppen niet bij verblijf op in het weekend.
• Diana (8/5): Leuk appartement midden in het oude centrum - De locatie is geweldig, midden in het oude centrum van Middelburg. We waren met twee personen en hadden dus alle ruimte. De taken zijn erg smal met hoge tredes zonder leuning. De badkamer is erg koud. Met meer dan 4 personen is het echt veel te klein. Jammer dat de temperatuur niet zelf te regelen is. Werd na appen overigens wel snel geregeld.

• Omar (6/5): Redelijk - Ligging in het centrum overdag. In het weekend tot laat in de nacht lawaai overlast van disco/bar aan de andere kant van de straat. Parkeren niet mogelijk bij appartement in tegenstelling tot wat er wordt beweerd. Minimaal 5min loopafstand. Ventilatie in appartement is niet mogelijk in woonkamer/ keuken. Verwarming is zelf niet te regelen.

Helaas kregen we verkeerde info over onze aankomsttijd, waardoor we onze route en planning moesten aanpassen. Bleek later dus voor niks., want er was ineens n sleutelklastje. (We moesten eerst speciaal uiterlijk 20u aankomen om iemand te ontmoeten voor de sleutel)

• Halkus (9/5): Heerlijk verblijf in de binnenstad van Middelburg - Het is een zeer mooi gerenoveerd pand en lekker schoon. Geen goedkope rommel in de woning maar degelijk en duurzaam. Vriendelijke schoonmaakster! Voor herhaling vatbaar! De trappen zijn even wennen, smal en hoge stappen. De verwarming mag en kan je niet zelf bedienen. De ramen in de woonkamer waar ook de keuken is kunnen niet open. Parkeren is een probleempje, voor 1 dag heb ik langs het kanaal zelfs meer dan 70,00 moeten betalen. U kunt het beste parkeren bij het Hof van Tange, daar is het ook niet goedkoop maar nog wel betaalbaar.
• Artur (9/5): A nice stay right in the city center. - The location was incredible. Right in the city center next to the Markt. It's an entire two-storey apartment with enough bedding for two couples at least. The place was clean. You don't even need to eat out if you don't want to as the apartment has a fully functional kitchen. The pricing was very very good. The stairs are narrow, but it's the Netherlands. I found it hilarious (in a good way). I can imagine that climbing up to the attic can be dangerous if you've had a few of the local beers. Only minor inconveniences - I had to pay for the city tax via bank transfer, which proved to be a bit complicated for me (probably my fault). The place is extremely noisy as it's right next to the local pubs; however, the owners were kind enough to leave ear plugs next to the bed. The bed could be a tiny bit better, it felt like there's a small hole in the middle (I didn't care about it much though).

• Francien (6/5): We hebben het gezellig gehad met ons vieren. - Dicht in het centrum. Traptredes waren erg hoog en er was geen trapleuning. Voor ouderen kan dit gevaarlijk zijn. Het was ook donker in het trappengat. Erg omslachtig om de toeristenbelasting te betalen om uiteindelijk toch contant te mogen betalen, had ook van te voren gekund. Kregen toen pas de code van het sleutelkluisje. Tegenover was een poppodium en dit was erg gehorig.

• Jeroen (6/5): Locatie goed, verder teleurstellend. - Locatie was super, ten opzichte van het centrum De host is onsympathiek in de communicatie. Informatie over het verblijf komt pas laat (en is rommelig verwoord) en een inchecktijd van 17:00 is laat en ongebruikelijk. Gelukkig konden we op verzoek iets eerder komen. Het was in de nacht van zaterdag op zondag werkelijk niet te doen qua geluidsoverlast. Tot 04:30 is er non stop geluid van uitgaande jongeren te horen, luid en duidelijk. Dit maakte het goed slapen onmogelijk. In het huis hangen op bijna elke plek geplastificeerde briefjes met instructies en dingen die verboden zijn. Dit doet erg onsympathiek en ongezellig aan.

• Peter (4/5): Voor €150 krijg je geen waar voor je geld. Ik zou dit onderkomen niet meer kiezen. - Rommelig. Eén normaal bed. Slaapbank is moeilijk uit te klappen in krap bemeten appartement. Ander bed meet 1.70 cm en is te klein. Het is morilijk te bereiken via wankel trapje. Keuken ok.

• Catharina (4/5): - Location ok. Clean. Overpriced tiny appartment for people who love steep stairs and cheap beds. Do not stay here with anyone under 12, or over 40, or anxious about heights or who likes their privacy. From the front door the stairs are very steep and very narrow, up to a small living space where the gas stove is inexplicably built into the dining table. If you do any cooking, the sleeping quarters will reek of it because there is no ventilation and the windows don't open at all. There is built-in airco, but it's so loud it must be switched off at night, meaning you wake up drenched in sweat. The staircase up to the bedroom is downright scary: spiral, open, no handhelds and no door at the top. Not fit for children! The only bedroom has 2 matrasses posing as a double bed, with a dip in the middle which will break your back, as you keep rolling into it. Also don't sit up, you'll hit your head on the sloping walls. There is additional sleeping space up a tiny ladder, where a mattrass lies crammed into the rafters. The lights on either side of that bed don't match and flicker, not surprising considering they are plugged into old extension cords (can you say firehazard?) but there's a fire detector so apparently that's ok. On the landing is something dressed up as a bed, behind a curtain, if you like your 19th century servant type sleeping arrangements. It's very narrow at 70 cm and way too soft for any adult. But you can't let a child stay there, since they are alone and next to the open stairwell. There is no decent view from any of the windows. The shower is ok but the drain exudes bad smell. Also there are at least 6 notices of things you cannot do in the house, which is not very welcoming. I don't recommend to anyone except a honeymooning mountaineering couple, who would happily climb these stairs and be too over the moon to notice the many deficiencies.

• celine (7/5): Bien mais description et fonctionnement à revoir ! - Les équipements (dont la TV avec France 2😉) et l'emplacement en centre ville (bien que très bruyant du fait d'une boîte de nuit très proche😭). Plusieurs choses : - la modalité de paiement de la taxe de séjour ! Ben que tout le monde s'en plaigne sur ce site, je ne comprends pas que les propriétaires s'obstinent à demander le paiement de la taxe de séjour uniquement la journée même de l'arrivée par un simple message WhatsApp comprenant un numéro IBAN sans autre formalité et en vous demandant de faire une copie d'écran du site de la banque sur lequel vous avez fait le virement 😡. Pratique quand vous êtes sur la route !!!). Tout s'est arrangé car finalement une dame est venue à notre rencontre devant l'appartement pour récupérer la somme et nous donner les clés ! Merci Elisabeth ! - les escaliers hyper pentus de l'appartement. Ce point devrait être absolument signalé dans l'annonce car d'une part, ils rendent l'appartement difficilement accessible (nous avons laissé nos valises dans la voiture) et d'autre part, extrêmement dangereux pour des jeunes enfants notamment.

• Cristina (7/5): Fine stay in the centre of Middelburg - The location is great for visiting Middelburg since it is at the heart of the city, close to bars and restaurants. The house has big windows and the ones on the 2nd floor can open widely which is good for ventilation. The location also happens to be next to 2 pubs/bars so it is very loud at night. Not accessible for people with reduced mobility since there are very steep stairs to get to any of the facilities.

• Lassi (10/5): Feels like being a local, living in a three-storey home in central Middelburg! - Super quaint Dutch house on three floors, makes you feel like a local! Beautifully decorated, our family of six loved the fun details and the adventure of clambering up the narrow staircases. The location is just a couple of blocks from the main square and close to a large, very well stocked convenience store. Families with infants/toddlers may have a hard time with the stairs, we built some elaborate barricades with suitcases.

• Anne-maria (7/5): perfect location, great host - this property couldn't have been in a better place its literally around the corner from all the main attractions. it is however also next to the busy bars and nightclubs so can be a little noisy at night. Plenty to do on your doorstep. Beds were comfortable. Host gave excellent directions and communication was very good. very responsive. noisy at night but its not the fault of the host. would have helped to have a microwave and toaster. Although I can see toasters aren't really a big thing in Holland. the stairs are incredibly steep and winding. you can't open the windows on the living area, but you can upstairs.

• Akaltun (3/5): challenging - booking.com does not take city tax payment so they asked me to pay extra. When I reached out to make the payment, I said I wanted to give it in person. However, he stated that he could not do this, then I sent it as swift, paying almost 20 euros of tax for 2.90 euros. Then they said that it was not included in the system and someone would come to collect the money from me. He didn't initially offer this option. Then I gave him 5 euros and he said he didn't have any change. It was almost 9 or 10 in the evening when this was happening. And instead of paying 36 euros, I had to pay an extra 25 euros because of the 3 euro tax.

• Daria (8/5): Stylish and atmospheric multi-level apartment, with typically Dutch stairs - The apartment is very spacious and has a lot of sleeping options. We used the bedroom on the second floor and the extra double bed under the roof, which were both very comfortable. There is a nice seating area on the first floor as well, great for spending some time together. Everything is quite modern, including the kitchen and the shower. Everything was very clean and cozy, and much bigger than I expected. Great value for money. The location is perfect, a stone's throw from the main highlights of the centre and easy to find, especially on foot. The owner also sent more detailed instructions on how to find a free parking street (some 10 min walk) or where to park for a fee, which was quite helpful. We only spent one night, but I can easily imagine staying longer! The description states free parking, which led us to believe it is actually parking available next to the house. It turned out to be a street some 900m away: a good tip, but it could have been clearer that the parking wasn't at the apartment itself. And just something to be aware of: the stairs are quite steep and may not be suitable for families with little kids or for people who have difficulties climbing stairs. It was not a problem for any of us, but it would help to have it stated clearly in the description.

• Anna (10/5): It was great stay, we will definitely keep it in mind for our next travel. - It is a lovely little, clean and cute apartment in the middle of the old town of Middelburg. Everything is kept quite minimalistic and just right for all your needs. There is a full kitchen and lots of sleeping places. We were only a group of 3 people but there is definitely more space available. There are also several great locations nearby, coffee shops and an amazing fish restaurant. The parking is a bit difficult. But if you are lucky you can find a short parking on the street just around the corner.

There is park place and markets next to the property. Typical dutch houses. I don't know why, I couldn't feel in a property which is extremely clean. Maybe there are too much stuff around which can collect all the dust in the air. We have stayed in garret, maybe because of that I felt so.

It have lovely touches and everything that you need for a fantastic stay. It was clean and comfortable. A lovely oasis after a day exploring the city. The staff were prompt and helpful. The bathroom has a bit of a musty smell.

• Vincenzo (8/5): Pleasant stay, excellent q/p ratio, could have been a bit warmer 😊 - Cosy apartment, very central. There was no heating in the bathroom nor in the upper bedroom, while in the lower one there was a radiator, but it was not working. Bedrooms are located under the roof, and being quite a cold night, we noticed the absence of heating. The free parking, which in the description seems to be provided together with the apartment, in the reality is located a good kilometer away. On the bedside table there was a box of wax ear plugs: we didn't use them, but I guess it might be a noisy neighborhood sometimes.

• Rebecca (7/5): Good - Overall, it was a well located and neat little apartment. The host clearly communicated how to get there and how to access the apartment. The booking.com listing didn’t make it clear that the second double bed was in the eaves of the attic with minimal head room. This second room was very hot and stuffy and wasn’t really suitable for the adult in our party (although it would be excellent for children I am sure!) Our other main issue was the lack of extraction power (we used the extractor fan but this was virtually useless) We tried to use the frying pan to make pancakes which set off the fire alarm. All the windows in the kitchen are sealed shut which did not help with the ventilation.
