Die Lage ist sehr praktisch, man ist in wenigen Minuten an der Binnenalster und bei einigen Einkaufsläden, trotzdem war es im Hotel selbst ruhig. Ich würde das Tortue immer wieder zur Übernachtung in Hamburg wählen.
• Anthony (10/5): Pure luxury! - How do you explain how pure luxury feels. That is how the hotel was from start to finish. Everything smooth from check in to check out. The staff were so polite and welcoming, always a hello or goodbye! What an experience. I have a hotel for life in Hamburg now.

MEN midt under middagen kommer der 3 små fede med frem omkring vores ben i restauranten - Brasseriet. Helt uden at trække en mine fortalte tjenere at det havde de døjet med længe!!! Vi afbrød vores middag i ubehag og blev tilbudt at få maden serveret i receptionen, så var klart nej. Vi nåede at tale med 5 forskellige der ikke kunne tage stilling til hverken vores middag eller ophold som var ødelagt. Næste dag var den ene af os meget syg med dårlig mave. Ved afrejse bad de endda om betaling for restaurant besøg og ophold. Igen talte vi med to i receptionen der intet ansvar eller beslutninger kunne tage. En forfærdelig oplevelse!

Personalet er søde, men hjælper dig sjældent. Brasseriet er en skuffelse, super dårlig service og middelmådig mad. Der er andre hoteller i Hamborg der gør det mindst lige så godt….

• Maria (10/5): Återkommer gärna en tredje gång!! - Anländer med bil och parkerar den utanför på gatan. Det uppmärksammas av personalen på en gång som hjälper till med bagaget. Fint och rymligt rum med skön säng, lagom mjuk och sköna kuddar. Bra miljötänk att badrumsartiklar inte var i engångsförpackningar. Frukosten har extremt bra råvaror till alla de rätter menyn erbjuder. Därefter prissättningen med för den kostar en hel del. Besökte Brasseriet en kväll där vi upplevde personalen som lite väl ouppmärksam, glömde servera beställda drycker bland annat. Deras bar är väldigt mysig med drinkar som smakade väldigt bra. Kan rekommendera hotellet till alla som ska besöka Hamburg. Vill även berömma den trevliga personalen.

• JOSE H L (6/5): - We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. On the first night the fire alarm went off at midnight. We stayed 20 minutes downstairs. The next day when we asked what happened they explained it was a false alarm and no apology was given to us. Great quality breakfast but extremely slow. It's served à la carte, so you have to wait forever for them to bring you what you ordered. Comfortable, clean rooms and attentive staff.

The brasserie where we dined overlooks the court and it was a good option during the summer. the breakfast area is also quite pleasant. The breakfast menu is a little heavy on the egg side and the cake choices in the vitrine were not promptly replenished when out of available slices.
• Maria (4/5): Not worth the hassle - Really enjoyed our stay at the time. However, upon check-in hotel took a deposit on my card which was due to be refunded at checkout. In spite of paying in full upon departure i am still waiting on a refund of this amount almost a month later. Hotel has assured me that it has been credited back but this hasnt happened and have had to contact my credit card company to resolve. Due to this fraudelnt activity I cannot recommend and would not return.
• Ross (10/5): - We really enjoyed our short stay at Tortue. Very impressed with location of hotel. The finish of the lobby, brasserie and room were outstanding. Nice touches like complimentary mini bar. The staff were always extremely pleasant and helpful. The on site Bar Noir had very nice cocktails and it was lovely to sit out on the terrace in the evening. Pricing was fine, much like any other hotel bar. The one anomaly was a surprise €12 bottle of water which I thought was excessive. Overall I’d highly recommend this hotel for a short break

• Carolyn (10/5): Great stay, beautiful hotel, 2 restaurants! - Beautiful stay at the Tortue in Hamburg. The staff is amazing and the hotel is beautiful. Loved the fact that it is dog friendly and very clean. If you bring a pet make sure you call ahead of time to let them know so they can prepare a pet friendly room. I would definitely stay here again. Only downside is the parking offsite is $$, as is the overnight fee for valet (both 37euro for 24 hours). If you go a little further out you can probably find more affordable parking but it was too convenient for us to do so. Would definitely recommend you stay here!

Great bears and restaurants that are part of the hotel. Also dog friendly which is super important to us! What I disliked was that the Wifi was absolutely horrendous and barely working up in our room (4th floor)

As a regular visitor to Hamburg I have stayed in many hotels around the city and this has been by far the most convenient location and a great base for a weekend. It is within walking distance to the Speicherstadt, Rathausmarkt for Christmas markets, Jungfernstieg, St Pauli etc. The location was the most attractive perk of this hotel. The room itself was sleek and spacious. We liked the attention to detail and tortoises. The bath tub was huge and underfloor heating in bathroom was great. Being in room 111, seemingly the smallest on the floor we could hear the loud music from the bar (?) on Saturday night but having done so much walking I was tired enough to sleep through it. It’s not the first time I have booked via hotels.com and seemingly got the smallest room on the floor. It was perfectly adequate but to be honest I was disappointed with the hotels.com booking experience - nothing to do with the hotel. It may well have been the only room at a certain price but I don’t remember having a choice using the app. Hotel staff were helpful when I left a pair of boots in the room and otherwise we were out much of the day so didn’t see lots of people within the hotel. Bed very comfy, road noise negligible which was good as it’s quite a big road we were overlooking. Toiletries smelled amazing in the bathroom. If I’m being really picky I could have used more tea bags and made use of fresh milk but that’s a tiny point that didn’t disrupt our stay!

I can't say anything about the breakfast, as it was with 35 EUR far beyond our company set limit. But a bakery just on the other side of the street is a good alternative.
