The view is world-class, and the pool is incredible. Breakfast was great. The menu was more of a guide than a fixed option. The owner was such a great guy and helped us with everything we needed, including car repair. We will 100 percent be back.

We woke to so many birds calls and even howler monkeys in the distance. Lots of endearing subtitle features: plants, decorations, bedding options, filtered water, lounge covers... Check-in and out was smooth. Staff was OUTSTANDING. Can't miss staying here!
- Joseph (10/5): - We chose Pura Vista to enjoy the natural scenery and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. The image of the pool overlooking this truly captures the essence of our stay. We woke to the sound of howling monkeys and enjoyed beautiful watching blue jays flying about. Our room with the private pool was very comfortable and clean and we had good rest, energizing us for the next day. Mark the owner and his staff were very gracious and went above and beyond to be sure we were comfortable, helped us find transportation and local restaurant recommendations. Mark proved to have a wealth of knowledge about the wildlife and sea ecology which I found remarkable. Last but not least, we fell in love with the resident cat, Cosmo, who checked in on us daily to be sure we were having a lovely vacation. Thank you Pura Vista owners and staff, from Cindra & Joe.
- Nathan (10/5): - This is a small 6-room boutique hotel that is up the hill from Ocotal Beach (Playa Ocotal) and about a 10-minute drive from the main strip on Coco Beach (Playas del Coco). Mark is a great host, and he and his team do an awesome job running the hotel. Mark greeted us when we arrived at ~9pm even though our room key had already been arranged for us in a lock box. Our unit was clean, updated, and had a balcony with a fantastic view of the ocean. Every morning, a complimentary vegetarian breakfast was provided that featured fruit, gallo pinto (rice & beans), and eggs. The pool was the perfect place to take a dip after returning from the beach/ocean, and it overlooks the same wonderful view that's enjoyed from the rooms and breakfast area. Parking was never a challenge during our stay because there were never more than 2-3 cars in the lot. The parking area, and the entire hotel, are in a secluded but safe and gated area. My only quibbles are that it would be nice if the hotel offered more complete amenities (they provide shampoo and conditioner, but not body wash and lotion) and some of the towels had frayed edges. Otherwise, our stay at Pura Vista was first-class!

- BARRY (2/5): OWNER reneged on hotels.com booking details - I booked this with Hotels.com and free breakfast was included in the booking. After checking in, the owner confused my booking with another, I had to switch rooms, did not get any toiletries at all during the stay. The owner, after stating that we would get the free breakfast, told me at breakfast the next morning that my breakfast was NOT free, because my room rate was so low. Very unprofessional, I notified hotels.com and they issued me a credit, but this owner clearly doesn't live up to his promises. Stay away.
- Robert (10/5): Don't pass on this gem! - Flo is a wonderful host, he could not do enough to make sure your stay is a pleasant one. A bit out of the way, but close enough to get around . His food, his tips on what to do, he tries to help you any way he can. He advised me of a fabulous tour guide, and gave me a contact with a reliable cab driver. Would have no hesitations of staying here again. I made a friend with Flo! :)

The ONLY issue we had was getting to the property. Which warrants a little bit of warning ahead of time. We arrived after dark, so we were a bit taken aback, because part of the road is dirt and cuts thru a very narrow road in the jungle, and then the road up is incredibly steep. The parking lot is very small, but there was parking up above it which worked out nicely. Overall, they have done an amazing job on renovating, the place is so clean and beautiful and extremely friendly.

For $100 a night you get the best views, a pool you only have to share with 6 other units (in other words, we never shared the pool) and the most welcoming hosts. Only like 10 minutes away from Playa Del Coco, and close to a few great restaurants near by. The room was fresh with high ceilings. Beautiful individual patio with direct access to the pool. We didn’t have breakfast but it seemed like a great set up. We will be back.
- Jeremy (2/5): Mr Dishonest! - Despite having been promised by the owner that we would get a refund as we had to leave early due to the corona virus we have been informed that we will get nothing back. The property is not easy to find or get into and is certainly not a 5 minute walk from the beach! Breakfast is vastly overpriced too! The in room coffee maker didn’t work and it took 24 hours to replace, this only happened because we asked the maid and she got one from another room. The WiFi was very intermittent and kept disconnecting. Fitness facilities? Spa? I’m guessing this alludes to the vibrating bed? Designated smoking area is on the road, mini bar over priced, no washer dryer in the room and no offer of the use of one. Terrace? Beach bar? I would certainly not stay here again and would advise others to think very carefully about booking here.

Access to the small parking area is up a steep hill. There is a bit more parking on the road. Great breakfast, we preferred the 'Organic'choice - recommended. Small pool perfect for morning swims. We stayed for three nights, exploring the area by car, and had our lunches and dinners en route. This strategy worked well for us as we were not interested in any nightlife.

The scenery and views of the ocean from the hotel is beautiful!! Wish i had stayed longer. Flo, is the owner, the cook (the breakfast was delish!), sometimes the maid, sometimes maintenance..he's awesome i cant express it enough! His entire family helped with accommodating us in some way. It made you feel like you were on a vacay visiting family-my boyfriend kept helping Flo clean the tables after breakfast bc he said Flo was the type of person that you just wanted to help bc he helped take care of everyone and everything else. I can go on and on about this hotel... JUST BOOK THIS HOTEL...you will be so happy you did!
