Some items were missing …some foods missing and at some point we could only order like 2 to 3 different foods only. I could not even have a beer because they do not sell alcoholic drinks which they did not mention in their profile. I had to send for my drinks outside and it was just tiring

• Marianne (8/5): Nungwi Garden Boutique hotel - De allra flesta i personalen var mycket hjälpsamma. Vi fick behålla ett av våra två rum tills vi åkte till flygplatsen på em. Frukost undermålig, saknade tex yuoghurt och något pålägg. En av frukost värdinnorna var inte alltid hjälpsam då något tog slut. För få solstolar vid poolen. Schampo ej påfyllt vid ankomst, tog två dagar att få. Störande ljud i omgivningarna.
• Thera (4/5): Helaas zijn wij erg teleurgesteld door deze accommodatie - Het hotel was goed gelegen, op loopafstand van het strand. Naast het zwembad stonden auto's geparkeerd die een aantal keer per dag verplaatsten. Voor onze kinderen was dit niet fijn en voelde niet veilig. Zowel het inchecken als het eten duurde erg lang, zelfs voor Afrikaanse begrippen! Er was maar 1 handdoek op de kamer, na meerdere malen aan het personeel gevraagd te hebben of we deze konden aanvullen hebben we ze aan het eind van de dag gekregen en konden wij douchen, dachten wij... Helaas! Er was geen stromend water dus douchen, wassen en de toilet doorspoelen was niet mogelijk tot de volgde dag.. Ook de airconditioning werkte niet, toen wij dit allemaal aangaven was er geen oplossing voor. Omdat wij met 2 kleine kinderen reizen en ook zij zich niet op hun gemak voelden hebben wij besloten om na 1 nacht te vertrekken. Het was absoluut niet aan de orde om iets van de betaling van de totaal 3 geboekten nachten terug te krijgen, terwijl wij maar 1 nacht zijn gebleven en wij ons hier echt niet prettig voelde De kamer voelde smoezelig en het was erg warm met veel herrie van buiten. Wij zijn erg teleurgesteld door deze accommodatie en erg blij dat we hebben besloten om naar een andere plek te gaan! Er zijn zoveel heerlijke accomodaties op Zanzibar met ontzettend lief en warm personeel! Daar valt deze plek absoluut niet onder.. De prijs-kwaliteit staat zeker niet in verhouding!

Se l’avessimo saputo prima, avremmo scelto un’altra struttura. Il giorno seguente alle 10 ci hanno costretti al check out…..

• Nazreen (5/5): Het was prima te doen voor een paar dagen - Ontbijt was erg simpel en eenvoudig. Hotel was op loopafstand van een aantal winkeltjes en kraampjes. Ook op loopafstand van het strand. Op dit stukje strand kon je niet relaxed liggen of zitten. Veel straatverkopers die aanwezig zijn. Opdringerig maar wel vriendelijk. Het was veilig. Prima restaurantjes in de buurt op loopafstand. Er was geen tv in de kamer. Stroom viel meerdere keren op een dag uit we hadden ook 3 dagen geen warm water. Zwembadwater was koud. Lag in de schaduw.

• Masoko (5/5): Not pleasant. - The Staff was very friendly and welcoming. I loved the fact that they can speak English,so there was no language barrier. The food was HORRIBLE! It was nothing like an English breakfast. We suffered for the first 2 days , until we asked for baked beans, bacon and atleast Mushroom. The least they could get us was baked beans. The croissant was not fresh, the only cereal was corn flakes. Our room(Family Room) The bathroom was too small, the toilet papers was of low quality and it looked like they were not done with paintings on the wall because it had 2 colours. Ohh and they have loadshedding.

The staff were really nice and friendly, th - The location is perfect! 2 min walk to the beach, really close to the village with all the shops around It is not something negative about the property but i found it unnecessary that they changed our sheets every day. I dont think it is necessary and not very environmental friendly, but thats a personal opinion

He even helped organise a small surprise birthday for my girlfriend, and was always ready to help if you needed any information about the local area. You won’t need a tour guide. 🤣. The entire staff were friendly and exceptional. It’s Worth every penny. If possible, book room 1. That’s the one I stayed in. The view from the suit is second to none. The hotel decor is generally amazing. Quite natural. It’s hard to point out a fault coz I can’t remember any. 🤷🏽‍♂️

There was no one to properly check us in until 8:00am. The hotel doesn’t look like the picture on booking.com website. And I was there 4 hours and the reception wasn’t trying to assist. I would never recommend this place to nobody. I want a full refund.

• Bertha Alexandra (8/5): Leuk klein boutique hotel op goede locatie. - Ruime kamer, met goede airco en op loopafstand van het centrum en strand. Zwembad, met handdoek service. Zeer vriendelijk personeel. Het ontbijt was erg eenvoudig, weinig keus, maar alles was vers en diverse soorten eieren werden op verzoek gemaakt. Badkamer was aan renovatie toe, diverse andere kamers hadden al nieuwe badkamer. Wij gingen voor kamer aan het zwembad op begane grond. ( mochten zelf kiezen) Kluis in de kamer zit niet vast, dus is eigenlijk zinloos.

La llave del cuarto no funcionaba bien. Ofrecieron cambiarnos de cuarto. La caja fuerte tampoco funcionaba. Nos cambiaron de caja fuerte. La cama era muy dura para mi gusto.
• Jivanji (8/5): Trip to Zanzibar-Nungwi Beach - Staff:The staff were exceptional and always smiling! They were always available to our needs. Ahsante Sana! Room: The room met our needs. Breakfast: The breakfast was very nice, we appreciated the mixed tea they prepared for us. Location: its ideally located, 2 minute walk to the best beach in zanzibar. Also ideally located to some of the best restaurants- mamma mia by the beachside ( for Italian Cuisine ), marigold( indian cuisine). Food: the chef prepared delicious lunches for us, do try her beef curry and rice and their chapati roll. We were celebrating my daughters birthday and they prepared an amazing chocolate cake for us at short notice. Reception: a grander reception area would be nice.

• Swaita (9/5): Cute boutique hotel, close to the beach - Lovely little boutique hotel, with swimming pool and restaurant for lunch/snacks. Me, my husband and 2 kids had a family room with 2 large beds, was more than enough for us. Sleeping under the mosquito nets made it feel special. There was hardly anyone in the pool so the kids had plenty of fun. Beautifully kept gardens around the hotel. I think they were refurbishing a bar/restaurant on the 2nd floor whilst we were there which will be lovely when it’s finished. Absolutely fantastic location, step outside and the beach is 1 minute walk away. Lots of restaurants nearby, plenty of them on the beach and all the little tourist shops were 10 minutes walk away. The food from all the restaurants was freshly made and delicious. Lots of hawkers and sellers on the beach but they leave you alone if you ask them to. We went on a sunset dhow cruise through one of them and it was fantastic. You need to haggle everywhere though. Airport is one hour 15 minutes drive away and once again you need to haggle the price of the taxi (we paid $65 when we landed and $40 on way back!!). We really liked the location, beach was beautiful but lots of jellyfish in the sea. We would definitely go back if we get the opportunity as there’s plenty of things to do which we didn’t get a chance to do like swimming with the dolphins, seeing the turtles, spice farm visit as we didn’t stay long enough. Everything was nice.

• Anthony (8/5): A good place with a big mystake.. - Ideal location: the hotel is just a few seconds from the beach, which makes the stay very enjoyable. Friendly staff: the team was warm and welcoming upon arrival. Clean and pleasant pool: a real plus for relaxing. Beautiful and comfortable room, exactly as we expected. Birthday package well done (apart from the check-in issue): the room decoration was beautifully prepared, and the birthday dinner with the Maasai dance performance was a wonderful experience we truly enjoyed. The biggest disappointment: I had arranged a surprise for my girlfriend’s birthday with the hotel. Unfortunately, during check-in, the receptionist revealed in front of her that the room was already paid for and that only the supplement for the birthday decoration was due. This instantly ruined the surprise. Such a lack of professionalism really spoiled what was supposed to be a very special moment for us. Unpleasant smell in the bathroom: there was a strong sewage odor, which made it uncomfortable to use. Breakfast was disappointing: the menu was very limited, with little variety. No parasols by the pool: there were no umbrellas available to provide shade. As a result, although the pool was beautiful and clean, it remained completely unused—during our entire stay, we didn’t see anyone swimming, most likely because there was no shade or comfort around the pool area. --- ⚖️ In summary The hotel has an excellent location and offers great facilities (rooms, pool, beach proximity). The birthday package—with its room decoration and dinner accompanied by Maasai dancers—was really well executed and left us with a beautiful memory. However, the check-in mistake that ruined the surprise, the unpleasant bathroom smell, the limited breakfast, and the lack of parasols by the pool are aspects that definitely need improvement to make the overall experience truly outstanding.

Despite being very central, it has a very relaxed atmosphere so it is ideal if your seeking tranquillity outside of the more chaotic beach front hotels. Clean and spacious rooms! The hotel is peaceful, very clean, and surrounded by a beautiful garden that adds to the relaxing atmosphere. Our room was spotless, the bedding was fresh, and room service was excellent—our space was always well maintained. The location is fantastic—just a one-minute walk from the beach and close to several local attractions. Nungwi itself is vibrant yet safe and secure, making it easy to explore and enjoy. The hotel also features a lovely pool and jacuzzi, perfect for unwinding after a day out. While our stay was great overall, the menu was quite limited. Many of the food and drink items listed were unavailable, which meant we had to dine out often. Breakfast was tasty but also had limited variety, and lunch and dinner options were very restricted. That said, the atmosphere, cleanliness, and location more than made up for it. With a bit of improvement on the food and drink side, this boutique hotel could be an absolute gem.

We was supposed to stay at Kendwa, but because of a bank fraud (!) we left the original plan, and booked through hotels.com at this place. We are very glad how everything turned out. This location at Nungwi is good. At Kendwa we would be stuck at our resort. Here we had more flexibility on what to do all the time. Good aircondition at the rooms (you don't want to stay at Zanzibar without) We got most of our money back after 30 days, and like 150 emails.. you can't even trust a government owned bank at Zanzibar..! So you better do payments by card directly, or by trusted booking sites..! And.. taxi from airport to the hotels up north is fixed price.. $50 for xl car. We was 6 persons
