Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Candelaria (10/5): Estupendo ryokan - Nos gustó mucho este ryokan. Limpieza impecable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place - Comfortable, friendly, clean, good location. Very helpful. When we asked for a taxi to the train station, the host drove us there at no charge
- William (10/5): Great ryokan in laid back traditional area - We stayed two nights during the Typhon Hagibis period. The ryokan is well located near the Nezu rail station, the Ueno park and rail station and most especially the Yanaka area which is so interesting to wander around to see the older more traditional style of life in Tokyo. The ryokan room was immaculate and very large compared to other ryokan. The traditional breakfast served in a private dining space crammed with objects of art was a treat not to be missed. Owners were very helpful while unobtrusive. Will stay there again one day.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - Greeted with a friendly welcome at this typical Ryokan. Loved the room and it's simplicity, perhaps not being able to hear the guy snoring next door! A great place to da stay and close to ueno park.
- Patricia (8/5): Away from busy areas into interesting quieter area - This small ryokan is about 7 minutes to Nezu Metro and a 20 minute walk to Ueno JR station through Ueno Park Good coffee shops on the way to both stations. Helpful staff who would answer questions. Had the breakfast one day 1650 yen but excellent, very beautiful and an experience. Very interesting area after busy Tokyo Station area, lots of temples. Close to museums. Excellent Italian restaurant Bar Osteria near by. Other restaurants close.
- Jon (8/5): Our best sleep in Japan. - 5 perfect days. Quiet, classic and very Japanese! Excellent service and very clean and the best goose down duvet I have ever slept with. The hotel is a little worn but everything works. The breakfast is extensive and served in private rooms. The Location is perfect for Tokyo sightseeing and they have an nice Chinese/Japanese restaurant. I would come back any time.
- Maryanne (8/5): Great location - Wonderful welcoming staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): - clean kindley compotable service. good.
very good.
- santosh (6/5): Easy and comfortable - Comfortable place with great amenities close by like a park, zoo, temple, shopping area including china town.
- Michal (10/5): Great ryokan in a residential neighborhood - We loved this ryokan. It wasn't upscale but it was very affordable and provided a great introduction to traditional Japanese hotels. Our room had a private bathroom which as I understand is not very common in ryokans. Everything was clean, the futons and bedding were comfortable. The room had a fridge and was provided with coffee, tea and bottled water.
It was a 5-10 minute walk from the Nezu subway station. It took us a few extra minutes to find it at first. Look for the hotel sign pictured at the photo attached to my review.
There were some nice restaurants in that area. I recommend Kamachiku for tasty udon - it's a few minutes walk from the hotel.
The wifi wasn't usable when we tried but this has been my experience in the other Tokyo hotel too, so I wasn't really expecting it to work.
We didn't pay for any of the food options, so I can't comment on that aspect.
