Guest Reviews
- Manuela (10/5): Eine Oase der Ruhe mitten in der Stadt - Tolle entspannte Anlage. Superfreundliche Staff.
Unbezahlbare Tipps für die weitere Reise.
Sehr ruhig und sicher. Kommen gerne wieder!
Vielen Dank!
- Darlene (10/5): Highly recommended - Welcoming, cozy and quiet None
- EL MEHDI (1/5): Extremely dangerous - Extremely dangerous experience. I was attacked and bitten by the owner's dog in the common area. The owner showed total bad faith and refused to take full responsibility . I spent my vacation in clinics instead of enjoying my trip. If you value your safety, stay away. A dog that is not friendly must be fenced, period. The owner showed extreme bad faith: he claimed the dog was vaccinated but was unable to provide any vaccination card or medical records. I have spent my entire holiday in clinics to follow a heavy medical protocol (Rabies, Tetanus vaccines, and antibiotics). I suffered from pain and fever, and my travel plans are ruined.
The dog is still roaming free in the hostel. If you care about your safety, DO NOT stay here. The owner refuses to take full responsibility for the danger he is imposing on guests .

- Thaïs (8/5): Very good value for the location, and friendly family vibe - It felt like a small, quiet green oasis in the middle of Cebu city.
Located close to IT Parc with nice cafes and restaurants nearby.
The small bamboo hut is cute and clean, comfortable bed. The upstairs bathroom (inside the house) was quite good, and I really enjoyed the outdoor bamboo shower.
I was able to check in outside regular hours as my flight landed in the middle of the night, and rest on the couch in the common area until the room was available.
Coffee, tea, water available for free, and you can use the kitchen to cook your own meals.
It has a homestay vibe, since the staff also leaves in the same house with their family.
I’d like to come back and try one of the bike trips! I was the only guest and the hostel felt really quiet.
I was not quite sure which areas were private for the staff and which were meant for the guests (except for the big terrace with the dining table), and so I didn’t feel super comfortable hanging out on my own in the common areas.
A hammock or some kind of couch would have been nice to relax on the garden side, under the open bamboo hut.
The downstairs bathrooms were ok, not super comfortable and to use (I used mostly these as the upstairs bathroom was further away).

- franck (9/5): impeccable - le lieu le boss l'équipe... ...le depart

- Bertrand FAURE (1/5): L Arlesienne...

- rached (8/5): - The owner is friendly and helpful person, totally recommend the place if u want a simple place to stay in Cebu , I would definitely book again Any minor inconveniences are balanced with the price, u get what u pay for.
- ALVINCE (7/5): -
- Hayles (10/5): Relaxing, quiet and convenient - The property is quirky and has a vibrant unique feel to it. Humble and comfortable. The laid back vibe.
- hsueh lung (9/5): -
- Raf (10/5): - garden, hammock, room size, local food very close
- Sebastian (10/5): Nice place to stay - Budget friendly, family oriented with own bike love spirit. Free coffee !!! 😋 Nothing
- Mikael (8/5): Bra läge, fin vistelse om man gillar att bo mer kollektivt. - Trivsamt. Gemensamt kök, trevlig personal. Ingen egen toalett och ingen egen dusch.
- Carl (8/5): Very good -
- Aaron (9/5): Superb - This is a house with bungalows in the backyard. There is a full-kitchen and shared fridge you can use to cook. The wifi in the house is good. The bathroom has hot water in the shower.
They take good care of the plants in the back, too. The only thing I could say I didn't like was there are more mosquitos than I've been used to in other places, but they do provide mosquito coils for the bungalos and mosquito nets over the beds. Bring some spray if you want and don't leave food in your room.
The wifi connection was a little weak in the yard, but it did reach.
- Méril (10/5): Exceptional - The location ! Its so quiet.
- Paweł (9/5): Superb -
- Maria (10/5): This place offers a cozy vibe that made my stay comfortable. Excellent location.Ideal place to stay! - Cozy atmosphere. Great location. Property owner and it's staffs are friendly and accommodating. None
- Theo (10/5): I’ll come back with pleasure! - The owner Jens and his girlfriend are the best. Really friendly and open to help with whatever you’ll need for your travel in Philippines. I felt like at home.
- Kubo (8/5): Very good -
- Maria (9/5): Superb -
- Gary (10/5): - Great common areas access to full kitchen complete with all utensils, plates, pots, pans, etc. Room was large with AC (included). Hot water kettle in room. Free wifi in room and common areas, free coffee, free tea, free water (hot or cold). The shared bathroom very manageable as there are 2 bathrooms with showers serving 6 rooms, so never had to wait during my 2 nights stay. PERFECT for: solo travelers, budget minded, short stays, backpackers, and day-trekkers. A bargain at 15 USD and I had the largest room and the only one with AC. Beer for sale, laundry offered, breakfast offered at 200 php.
- Cabacang (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mardelle (9/5): Cycling friends - Jens was so good for information and very helpful. Location for me was great as it was very quiet in a busy city. Great restaurants close by with a short walk. If cycling stay here recommended. Great value for money. na
- Aimee (4/5): - We didn't feel welcome as soon as we arrived were just ushered to our hut which was tiny but quite cute and well built. There is not much in the area, especially at night, we ordered food from Little India and collected round the corner which was really good value. You need to travel quite far to get to any tourist attractions.
The room was clean but the mosquito net didn't stop them getting in. The toilet and shower are okay and clean enough but need updating. The kitchen was quite disorganised and messy. Would suggest somewhere closer to town unless you do want to escape the hussle and bussle.
- Helen (2/5): Disappointing, lonely planet is absolutely wrong about this place - It had potential, but it seems like this place has seen better times. This place could have a complete turnaround if the owners decide to organize it. Someone instructed us by phone to get the white cab from the airport to the accommodation, which was very convenient and avoided us into getting into a scam that charges 4x more for the same ride. The garden was completely neglected, there were empty bottles pilled up in some corners, rotting wood, a bunch of places where water could accumulate and become mosquito breeding ground... We've felt that the hosts completely forgot that they are running a business, and guests should feel like they're welcome and that the place is well kept.
The toilet is not good, and the water that comes out of the sink runs through an open ditch.
During one of the nights when we were cooking, there was a mouse inside one of the kitchens' cabinet trying to get into the kitchen.
The surroundings of the accommodation are not welcoming. As a woman, I wouldn't feel comfortable walking there by myself, but I was traveling with my husband.
Oh, and one of the dogs from the accommodation almost bit my husband.
We've been traveling through southeast Asia for more than 4 moths now, and we've been to quite modest accommodations, some of them with less infrastructure than this one, but you can see when the owners keep the place well organized to take guests and when the place looks like the owners don't care that much.
- Dove (8/5): Very good -
- Eduard (8/5): Very good - We are bicycle tourers and this hostel was our last stop. When we arrived the owner already had two bicycle boxes for us to unpack them. That was amazing. Thank you! The hostel is spacious so we had plenty of space and tools to disassemble our bicycle. The staff was friendly and solved our questions. We could also use the kitchen to prepare meals and not too far there are also good carenderias, restaurants and supermarket. Many mosquitoes in the garden. But if you ask the staff they will provide you with things against them and in the room there is a mosquito net.
- Jérémy (10/5): Exceptional - Is such a luxury to sleep in a kubo house in Cebu city.
The owner is very accommodating and can provide lots of plans to travel around Cebu.
Daghang salamat
- Maddy (7/5): Good - They put me in my own room which was nice. There were cockroaches in my room.
- Noah (8/5): Very good - Nipa hut was clean and comfortable. Location wasn't particularly interesting and walkable, but a Grab taxi or Move It bike got you wherever you needed to go. Plenty of showers and kitchen space. Good lounge area, would be better with company. Wasn't as social as I was expecting, in fact I barely saw another guest. The family kids were watching videos on their phones while the mothers did work.
Had a miscommunication with availability for the first night, but we were able to sort it out after a day.
- John (10/5): - It is a high quality stay for the price! Everyone is friendly and helpful there. They make you feel right at home. There is free wifi (unlimited) which is hard to find in the Philippines. All the basics and then some.
For a few extra bucks I recommend a higher end room. Even though it's a "hostel" my room was private with a bathroom and aircon (AC).
A few places could use some caulking or a paint job, but for the price it's a steal. The only other downside is the neighborhood. It's not dangerous, but a little clustered and dirty (and hard to find the first time). Not at all a deal breaker for me. I will definitely stay there the next time I am in Cebu!
- Lê (2/5): Horrible! - The uneven wooden floor with space between bamboo planks. The lighting was terrible. Weak leds.
- Barry (8/5): Very good - the whole bugoy bikers experience as a b&b was lovely, very happy with my experience
- Robert (8/5): - parking for your own transport
- Jr (10/5): Exceptional - I did not expect that my room was way bigger than I thought. Staff are always welcoming and there's free coffee and water. I love everything about this place.
- Lê (2/5): Very poor -
- Jr (10/5): It's nice to be back! When I came to Cebe the first time, this was the place I stayed! I enjoyed! - I like everything about this! Very Hospitable and welcoming! Imagine, someone from staff not just offer you a water to drink but actually serving you a water to drink! Very much appreciated those kinds of small acts! I don't know if It's just on my end, but the wifi connection couldn't reach my room. Or maybe I just got a wrong password (which I didn't confirm to them... my bad.) But Overall. 10/10! Good job everyone!
- Alexander (8/5): Very good -
- Elsie (10/5): Exceptional -

- Havana (10/5): Nice, comfortable, chilled place - Comfortable stay, we didn’t haven much time there but in the short time we stayed we chatted to some of the guest and the owner was very informative and gave great travel tips.
- Ruth (7/5): Good -
- Séverine (9/5): Nice place and nice people. - Jens IS very helpfull. Nice to talk with him and discover what he did as a biker traveller. Very nice Time in Bugoy place. And you Can discover Philippines with bike's tours with him and his staff.
- Cycle (9/5): Relaxed, friendly, easy going, loved the place and the atmosphere. - A great Hostel just on the out skirts of the centre. Great friendly, and relaxed place. More than happy to recommend this place. Great for the cyclist and the cycle tourist. But also good for that relaxed break. Hot shower lacking. Not a major problem but would have been nice.
- Daniel (10/5): Great little getaway nestled within Cebu City! - Gorgeous little cabin style homestay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Shared bathroom facilities but they were always clean. Laundry facilities available and low price. Kitchen/ cooking facilities available. Free refillable water, tea and coffee. Mosquito net and fan in the cabin. Had lots of dogs, which is fine, however this meant there was quite a bit of dog poo randomly round the garden on the pathways up to the cabin. Otherwise couldn’t fault it!
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- May (8/5): Very good -
- Steven (10/5): Great - Great atmosphere , this is a place for the traveller who wants basic accomodation and friendly vibe. As a cycle tourer i received great imformation from Jens the owner....highly recommend. Nothing

- Joyce (9/5): Superb - The Owner was very very helpful and provided us with useful information about how to get around CEBU and the Islands around.
He also provided us with contact people which made it easy for us to get around.
He does a lot of bike tours within the area and around other Islands and thus a very resourceful person. You can also rent a bike there too for flexibility purposes as well as seeing more.
Additionally, we received a warm welcome from the lady at the reception and she also allowed us to check in early after a Very long flight and delays.
- Shiena (9/5): Superb -
- Kate3108 (5/5): Ok - The place overall was lovely and the family that live there.
Stayed in a hut in the garden which wasn't what we expected. Pictures not fully as described but due to one night. It was ok
- Ralston (10/5): Exceptional -
- Junichi (5/5): Passable - cheap many ants on my bed.

- Sam (10/5): Exceptional - After an exhausting travel night we where able to check in in the early morning so we could get some sleep. The owner is a very nice guy who gave us some tips and helped us planning our trip. The shared kitchen with fridge, free coffee, tea and water are also really nice.
- Danielup84 (8/5): Very good - Family environment, homie place, great location
- Vahid (10/5): Best Place to stay if you want to meet new people. - Personal and owner were excellent. Breakfast was good and price worthy. Staff was all the time available for you. They order food for you with their mobile which was delivered to you. Everything was nice.
- Claudio (9/5): Superb - Really helpfull staff and o any informations There are two bathrooms but only one with hot water
- Frances (10/5): A hidden gem - An oasis of calm. The hostel has a lovely garden and verandah to hang out in. Jens and his staff are very welcoming. We are cycle tourists and Jens gave us lots of valuable information on where to cycle and general travel guidance. We can even leave our bike boxes here . The perfect place to start a cycling trip. Thanks to everyone at Bugoy Bikers Hostel. We couldn't have stayed at a better hostel. No complaints at all. Loved our stay and we will return in two months.
- Harry (10/5): Exceptional - Great place to stay, especially if you are a cycling fan! All good here
- Teresa (4/5): I'm not going to book here again. False advertising - Less expensive They gave me a room and was still occupied by another customer.
- Thomas (8/5): Nice and relaxing area - Location was 7 minutes walk to bus/jeeps area to get to centre or south bus terminal. Lot's of local places to eat cheap price. Hostel was very comfortable and had the use of kitchen with free water tea or coffee. Jens was very helpful and there was lots of information about travelling around the Philippines . All good
- Noela (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Attentive to your need and very friendly
- Raymond (10/5): Best Location in Town - My girlfriend and I broke up just before Christmas and so I dawned my backpack and took off intending to resume my travels. I found a welcome home for Christmas with a lot of ready new friends. My room was huge, like the master bedroom I previously enjoyed at home. I let my girlfriend know where I was and she came over, and stayed. We talked in our neutral atmosphere and now we're back living together again. The meals were excellent. The price for the room was much more than reasonable. And if I ever break up again with my girlfriend, I will definitely go back to the Bujoy Bikers Inn.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very accomodating attentive to your needs
- Johnathan (10/5): Wonderful family, lovely large home. - Home stay with wonderful family, lovely huge rooms, honesty policy with beer and food to take from fridge that they restock in a communal kitchen. Nice hot showers. Great value for money. Five minute walk from great value restaurant that serves the best sisig and sometimes has bands.
- Andrew (10/5): Great place to stay in Cebu - Loved the bamboo hut with little patio, as well as the (optional) outdoor shower.
It's a short jeepney ride (7 pesos) to the museums, fort, etc.
Great relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Very helpful owners and staff. We ended up staying an extra night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hospitality of their Filipino staffs and we can use their kitchen area for free.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - 池があるので蚊が多く、あまり寝られなかった。
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff was very helpful. The place was safe and big. The area isolated from traffic. Nice meals prepared.
- Ghostpuppy (10/5): - Nicest people, super clean and comfy, very homely. Would not suit a rude or precious traveler but definitely a perfect fit for kind and chill folk!
- Todd (10/5): Over night stay - Very friendly staff.. good relaxed environment. Would definitely stay again
