- Leo (8/5): Very pleased with our stay, we would definitely stay again / recommend to others - The room was nicely decorated, with a great bathroom / shower. Well appointed - good tea / coffee facilities. Restaurant / bar area very cosy and feels like a posh country pub - exactly what we were hoping for. Bed was comfortable and nice quality linen and pillows. Overall, we were very happy and would stay again. However, there were some small areas for improvement. Two hairs in the bathroom, one under the toilet seat, one on top of the bath. The food was good, almost excellent. The crab tempura was slightly overwhelmed by the raw onion in the slaw - suggest using something milder. The skin on the sea bream was not crispy enough. It wasn’t unpleasant, but I wouldn’t have served it like that. The bedroom was very warm - we slept with the window fully open all night, a fan is provided however. The breakfast was a little greasy, there was too much oil / fat on the plate. The sausage, bacon and black pudding were all good quality though. Scrambled eggs were firm, I wouldn’t order again. We had high expectations based on our evening meal, but breakfast fell short of the same standard, but by no means poor. Just not great. Only got 3 cups of tea from a pot of tea for two, just needed a little more!
- Charlie (5/5): Nice place but over priced, poor service at breakfast ruined our stay. - Nice room Breakfast took 1 hour 15 minutes to arrive, sausages and bacon were over cooked, breakfast was expensive and we were charged extra for a hot drink on top. Not once did the staff come to the table and explain and apologize for the long wait, only when we questioned it did she say "They are having issues in the kitchen"

Staff accommodated our needs & were attentive helped to shape our stay with convenient table bookings over the weekend for food . Limited food options if allergic to fish/seafood

Bed was low and soft, like sinking into a cloud, maybe not to everyone’s taste but perfect for me. Particularly taken with the tea and coffee choices in the room. Lovely walk in shower. Complimentary Molton Brown toiletries and quality bathrobes was such a nice premium touch. The room smelt amazing from the Molton Brown orange and bergamot reed diffuser. We didn’t have dinner as we dined elsewhere, but had a really good breakfast. Staff are professional and friendly. Cannot fault it at all. Nothing. Well, maybe those stools in the bar are quite uncomfortable…

- Julie (10/5): - A very well.appointed cottage in a brilliant location in the heart of Wooler. Everything was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. The owner was always very responsive when we had any queries. All the main attractions in Northumberland are easily accessible from Wooler so it's a brilliant place to stay to explore this beautiful county. I can highly recommend this lovely property.

Comfortable stay (except for a few irritating flies at dinner, overnight in the room, and at breakfast). Quiet, tranquil village. Bed v comfortable. Dinner was ok, breakfast good. Room was quiet - no kitchen noise or other interruptions. We liked everything about this stay although the price is quite high for a pub room in a country village when we include breakfast which was charged separately.
- Kate (8/5): If you’re looking for a cosy country pub with comfortable rooms and great food. This is it! - The food, excellent service and lovely rooms. The Cow is a great place to stay. It was exceptionally hot for our stay and the fan and slightly ajar window didn’t ease the temperature.

Great location and staff were incredibly helpful - we were able to checkin earlier which was a huge bonus as we were attending a wedding in the local area. The only downside was that the room was absolutely boiling, it didn’t have a window but it did have a door to the patio, however as we were on the ground floor, it backed onto the car park so we didn’t leave it open. The room had a fan but it was still very hot

There wasn’t air conditioning but there was a fan they I was happy with. The pillows were so comfy and it was a luxurious stay. Would return. Breakfast was also delicious.

Had lunch at the inn, that was also nice. We booked here for proximity to friends. At £200 for a room without breakfast included the price was very steep when there are chain hotels in the area at a fraction of the price.

- Anthony (6/5): The place has been modernised to a very high standard. and the staff are supperfriendly, - There was an overcharge regarding breakfast of £15. Ive tried twice to arrange a refund but no one seems to want to sort it. There is also a very noisey extractor fan under the end bedrooms which runs until closing time which meant that the afternoon siesta was not possible because of the noise. The cost per night at £230 i feel was excessive. If we were starring in the TV program '4 in a bed' i would have paid £180.

- giles (10/5): - Really lovely property and great evening staff offering a really warm welcome. The morning staff didn't seem quite as enthusiastic but maybe that was just the time of day!? The facilities lose a star because the breakfast is not included and can be very expensive if you include a couple of coffees, orange juice, cereal and cooked breakfast. Great stay overall though.
