Guest Reviews
- Sherry (10/5): - Nice stay prior to our morning flight. Airport transfer was via taxi and was included in the rate. The room was clean and well appointed. Breakfast was fabulous, better than the fancy resort we had just come from. Thomas, the owner of the hotel, was personable and friendly and we enjoyed our conversations. Would definitely stay again.
- Yan Ying Catherine (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff. Has a nice thai restaurant serving very good food that opens until midnight. Comfortable bed and room!
- Todd (10/5): - This is a wonderful boutique hotel and the Thai food was some of the best we have had anywhere. Room was lovely with great A/C and breakfast terrific, I.e, huge basket of different pastries and breads, eggs to order, espresso drinks, fruit, etc. Highly recommend this hotel. The owners and staff are very dedicated to service and making your stay memorable.
- Lawrence (10/5): - Outstanding, from welcome, through to service, food and attention to detail throughout. Unmatched friendliness and concern for wellbeing of customer from Thomas and Rose which has been imbued also on all the staff, Looking forward to next visit.
- Daniel (10/5): - A special haven in Male, beautifully run with a great restaurant too. Such lovely people and a warm atmosphere
- Stephen (10/5): - Excellent Thai food。 The owner Thomas and his wife rose are very helpful and we have an excellent stay there. The only improvement needed might be the toilet. A proper shower room will make it A . Even with this short coming, Sala Boutique still deserve A (2 less).
- Jonas (10/5): A very good stay - This Hotel was located in the very center of Malé close to everything that you want to see. The owner showed a huge amount of hospitality and warmth toward us as guests. The food in the Thai Restaurant was one of a kind, just excellent. The breakfast was very good. The room that we stayed in was very cozy, clean och with a warm feeling. Over all, this stay was way above our expectations. We can highly recommend this Hotel when staying in Malé.
- michael (8/5): - We were very well looked after by the owner, who was always present and engaged. It's a pretty hotel with character.
- Marcelina (10/5): Fantastic owner - The reason to why this hotel was so good was the owner Thomas who would walk the extra mile for any guest. He loves his work and woke up early to serve us breakfast personally as we had an early flight to catch. We really wish him the best, such a genuine and wonderful person!
- Gustav (10/5): We had a lovely stay. Excellent service and an out - We had a lovely stay. Excellent service and an outstanding breakfast.
- Arthur (10/5): Perfect place to stay before your flight ! - Nice stay in Malé with a very professional and helpful staff. And the thai restaurant was very good.
- Expedia (8/5): Not value for Money. - Hotel was nice, hospitality was good but the hotel location was not that much satisfying.
And the breakfast will fell you very sad and non energetic each and every day same bread , same jam and same egg no change on menu, if you are staying for more than one or two days you will not like the breakfast they charge more but value for the breakfast is zero.
About room everything is ok expect rooms lights💡soo lazy or should i say full light bill saving all the lights are very low brightness it will feel you that you enter in massages parlour.
Apart from this all ok not good but I will say after 7 days staying its only ok not good.
- Jagjit Singh (10/5): A decent stop before flying home - A decent place to stay in Male - especially if you are catching an early morning flight back home.
- Mark (8/5): Nice boutique hotel with great service & good food - Nice boutique hotel with great service and good food. Not exactly tranquil though: not sure if walls are thin, but I could hear doors closing and other peoples phone calls (one guest was having very loud and very unhappy conversations late at night with her booking agent). There is also a mosque nearby which uses loudspeaker for the call to prayer. The "elevator music" in the restaurant also gets a bit repetitive.
- Amy (10/5): Thoughtful staff - I had a great experience!! Staff ff was thoughtful and went above and beyond in every way. I would definitely stay here again. Location was off the beaten path but fr an overnight stay in Male, it more than met my expectations.
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff is amazing and handled every detail from picking us up airport to arranging our ride back. Full service at the hotel. Lovely people and great accommodations.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nothing special - It was ok but way to expensive for this kind of hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wow jus wow. I never seen a place like this. Seems like Buddha designed this place. Really really upscale place . Now comes the best part. The service. Ur treated like a king by all staff. Final wow. Staff actually walked me to passport pic and eye glass place. Didn’t even care what time I checked out. My god I wish every hotel was like this. I’ll never forget the convos with the head guy here , and his amazing boutique hotel
- Susan (10/5): Lovely - Staff were wonderful! My son broke his leg and they really looked after us, visiting in hospital and bringing yummy Fruit and Thai food. So appreciated and kind.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Thai resto is good, hotel is basic but clean and tastefully decorated.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff was exceptionally good. The entire staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome. While checking in we witnessed a guest come to the desk and ask for assistance in paying his cab fair. He apparently realized he did not have any cash on him. Without blinking or asking questions the staff went to the curb side and paid the guests taxi fee from the airport.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very basic, not a great value. Friendly staff, but minimal amenities and low quality overall
- Verified traveler (6/5): Some pros and cons - My stay at Sala got off on the wrong foot when they forgot to pick me up at the airport. I had pre-arranged the pick up and gotten confirmation via email, but when I arrived no one was there. The Malé airport doesn't have wifi, so I had to beg staff from a lounge to take mercy on me and contact the hotel on my behalf. The transfer consisted of a dude meeting me and escorting me on a ferry from the airport to Malé itself, then when we couldn't find a taxi we walked to the hotel (you're better off just taking a taxi from the airport). At check in the manager claimed they didn't have my arrival info, and when I produced my email showing they did, he said, "A misunderstanding!" Saying sorry goes a long way, but that didn't happen here. The hotel itself is serviceable, with strong wi-fi and an enjoyable Thai restaurant (inexplicably decorated with photos of Venice). The rooms are simple but comfortable and clean. Following the pick-up fiasco I found staff to be accommodating and warm, as they contacted my resort to arrange my onward transport, and had breakfast ready for me at 6 am, which was unexpected and helpful.
- Andreas (8/5): Anbefales - Veldig hjelpsomt personale, topp skandinavisk frokost , supert stede å bo
- Iain (10/5): Homely and Comfortable - The Sala Boutique Hotel is not some glamorous resort on a sandy atoll. It is a city centre hotel that, in its way, reminded me a bit of the movie, The Best Marigold Hotel. It is not run down at all, but it has a management that cares; it is reminiscent of a boutique hotel in India and it is entirely homely.
It was a scorching hot and incredibly humid day that I arrived in Malé, so I was very relieved to find a really efficient air-conditioner, turned on for me in advance of my arrival, in my spacious, clean room.
The bedroom was dominated by a large four-poster bed with a bench at the end to provide alternative seating. There was also a desk with tea and coffee making facilities. Strangely though, there was a Nespresso coffee machine, but no capsules provided.
Everything worked and was clean.
Breakfast was delicious with freshly made Danish pastries and I had tropical cut fruit. I did not want a cooked breakfast but it was included in the room rate.
This is most certainly a hotel I would return to in the future.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean, friendly staff and great location. Food is amazing, fresh and two pepole can share one portion.
- anh t (10/5): Best service - All i can say is the service, the best you can get. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave Raj the hotel mananger was always there to help.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice hotel, very good thai food, nice boss and good lication
- Ningyi (10/5): - The host is very friendly!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice spacious room, quiet and relaxing. Friendly welcoming staff. Easy pickup from the airport.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very good service. Breakfast was very good. We received a free upgrade.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Comfort and easy transport from airport - Good reception from airport even arrival late at night. Comfort small hotel.
- Jason (10/5): - The staff members are very friendly and helpful. The room is well furnished. Excellent location.
- Chelsea (10/5): A little Gem - Cute little boutique hotel. The owner Thomas is a fabulous host and the hotel had so much attention to detail. The food was fantastic. Lots of extra little touches, wifi, late check-out, accompanied airport transfer made the visit that much more enjoyable.
- Ricky (10/5): Perfection - Beautiful hotel with the friendliest staff. Great restaurant as well. Great vibe!
