Guest Reviews
- Marcelo (10/5): The most charming B&B we ever stayed in. - The Splendor Inn Bed & Breakfast is an absolute charm! We did not expect to find such a delightful, cosy place. And Chris, the owner, is fantastic. Welcoming, charming, very communicative, and making us feel at home.
- Lisa (10/5): - It was as very comfortable. We were greeted by Chris who showed us the property including our room which was well furnished. Bathroom was clean and spacious. We shared a bathroom for one night and was no problem. There was an extra half bath downstairs which was available if needed. Breakfast was incredible. We came home with a recipe for the blueberry French toast casserole!! We look forward to staying here again when visit family and friends.
- Christina (10/5): Elegant and Charming - Charming, elegant, and cosy. The hosts are lovely. It's a great B&B
- Jason (9/5): Superb -
- Carol (10/5): Beautiful B&B - Super service and accommodations were very good. Beautiful home. Helpful and very friendly. The owners had an away emergency, but arranged for a substitute who was very good. The breakfast was ok, but not great - perhaps because the owners weren't there. We would stay there again
- Carla (10/5): It was a short and affordable efficient stay - Very good
- Daniel (10/5): Lovely People, a Delightful room, and fantastic breakfast - Lovely People, a Delightful room, and fantastic breakfast
- Colleen (9/5): Very pleasant stay and we hope to return! - The property caretaker was very welcoming and friendly. She went out of her way to take care of all our needs and prepared a wonderful breakfast.
I felt like I was staying at a friend's home. The house was beautiful and well maintained. There were so many nice furnishings and I enjoyed the owners memorbilia throughout. Our mattress was very firm.
- Alfred (10/5): - Very nice older home with its own character.
- David (10/5): - This B and B is just right. It was a very reasonable price but still very clean, friendly, and comfortable.
- Jane (9/5): Superb -
- Shrikant (9/5): Wonderful quaint B&B in a small historic town; superb host Chris - Breakfast was very good - nice homemade meal.
Room for 3 was very spacious A booster seat for a small baby would have been helpful.
- Garcia (10/5): Was blown away with everything in my stay. Felt like part of the family. - First of all. The property is so amazing. Wonderful well maintain color outside, once you into the back, you’re greeted by the most heart warming older gentleman who welcomes you with a smile. And they guard dog Caz made me feel loved and safe. The room we got was amazing. So so comfortable! Big and roomy for my girlfriend and I. One of my favorite colors is green so it was divine timing and placement that allowed us to have a room with grass on the floor and green decor all around. It’s super quiet here so sleeping in was not a problem. The breakfast was exceptional, I enjoyed every second of it, and with orange juice seemingly bottomless I had the energy to size the rest of my day. I was here for a wedding and the venue was about 30 minutes away from splendor inn and we had no way of getting there and back so the property owner first gave me a number to a near by cab service but also offered to drive and pick us up in case we didn’t find anyone, they went above and beyond to accommodate us in every way possible. If you’re looking for a place to be a halfway point for your love, this is the place, if you need to get away from the city and need somewhere reasonably close to civilization this is the place! And if you just want to spend some time away with your partner, repeat after me, “this is the place!”
- Phillip (4/5): Disappointing -
- Vivek (8/5): Very conveniently located. Nice breakfast. -
- Laura (10/5): - Hosts super accommodating. Easy walking access to food and entertainment. Accompanied our early departure with. A sack breakfast.
- Austin (10/5): Very nice home away from home. - Stay was overall great. Host was very polite and Greeted me when i got there. Room was very big and spacious. Very home like in the inn. Didnt really feel like a hotel. Had a shared bathroom but never once had an issue with the other single room on my floor. Stand up shower with great water pressure. Even though i missed the breakfast portion of both days the hose was still nice of enough to give me a to go bag in the fridge. Very thoughtful. Room was on the third floor so had to go 2 flights of stairs but was my own fault for a late check in. Was my first stay in a bed and breakfast so i was a bit worried but if theyre all like this ill never stay at a hotel chain again. Bonus host was an adorable dog. Will definitely try to stay here again if i ever make it back up to Unadilla.
- Scott (10/5): - Great stay one night at the Splendor Inn. Wonderful breakfast served with choices. The Inn is close and walkable to many restaurants on the main street. Car Museum in Norwich is a plus to visit, and we stayed on our way to Cooperstown. Splendor Inn is a value and would recommend.
- Gray (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephanie (10/5): - Lovely spot, the owner was welcoming and accommodating. A perfect nights stay
- Lalonde (10/5): Exceptional - Chris and Ann are wonderful host. Everything
- Lalonde (10/5): Exceptional - It was lovely
- David (10/5): - Nice clean property and hospitality
- Ellen (10/5): Chris was the ultimate host and so welcoming- we hope to return on our next trip to Norwich! - A lovely place to lay our heads while in town for a short stay. The charm of the architecture and decor was everything we were hoping for! There wasn’t much room in the bathroom but we had our own so really aren’t complaining!
- Steven (7/5): Cool BB with lovely owners - We loved the owners and their dog. We did not care for the location or town itself. Common areas were very hot! We enjoyed our breakfast that was homemade and fresh but the dining room temperature was too hot. Even in shorts and a tank. Room was very cute. The ac in the room was great. Worked well. Beds very comfy. The place was mostly clean. Bathroom shower on 3rd floor had temperamental temperature but that’s to be expected in an old house. We would probably not visit Norwich again but if we did we would stay here again.
- Barry (10/5): - very peaceful stay enjoyed the inn keepers hospitality
- Donna (10/5): Great place to stay with reasonable rates. - The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The other guests were quiet. Host was friendly. Breakfast was wonderful. Would stay again.

- Mark (10/5): - Purpose of my travel was business from this gem a a find within the town of Norwich, NY.
- Peter (9/5): A lovely stay with warm welcome - Wonderful hosts, an adorable dog, delicious breakfast, well-appointed building (bonus sitting areas), walking distance to town. A great place to stay for a visit to the Northeast Classic Car Museum. Also, thank you for recommeinding Wild Owl Cafe. The front room was lovely but had more street noise. The next time we will request a back room.
- Drew (10/5): - Great stay at the Spendor Inn. We felt at home and would go back!
Thank you!
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely hosts ... superb breakfasts ... beautiful house.
- Danielle (9/5): Great hospitality & friendly too! - The accommodations and hospitality weee excellent. For my husband, the bed was great. I found the bed uncomfortable and the pillows flat and difficult to make comfortable. This was relatively minor as I was tired enough to sleep well enough.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Douglas (10/5): Ann and Chris were excellent hosts-really enjoyed the breakfast-nice cozy atmosphere -
- Jean (10/5): - It was wonderful. A nice relaxing trip.
- William (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful stay - from speaking with the owners to the wonderful breakfast they made us. The home is lovely and we would definitely go back again!
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Patricia (8/5): Very good - Breakfast were ok. It was like ordering from a resataraunt.
Very gracious.
- Jeffrey (9/5): Fantastic property and wonderful hosts! - The hotel location for our needs, the facilities and, most important, our hosts were truly outstanding. The breakfast service and food were delightful, and we wholeheartedly recommend Splendor Inn to anyone desiring a pleasant stay in central New York State. The only problem we had during our appears to be due to the timing of our stay, so we cannot fairly fault the hotel—the days were unusually warm, and since our room was on the top floor, the small wall A/C unit wasn’t able to keep up.
- Michael (8/5): Cozy B+B in Norwich NY - Nice B+B in Norwich NY, near the town center and shops and restaurants, good breakfast.
- Angelica (10/5): Cozy and comfortable stay in a beautiful B&B - It was a huge pleasure staying at Splendor Inn. The place was cozy and very beautiful, with beautiful antique furniture, a nice sunroom and backyard. The rooms and beds were very comfortable and had everything we needed. We also loved the morning breakfast and open access to coffee, hot chocolate, and fruits like banana and apple. My toddler also really enjoyed crawling around the house, marvelling at everything. The hosts, Ann and Chris, were also very helpful and easy to reach. I have been telling everyone to book a stay at Splendor Inn and strongly recommend it.
- timothy (10/5): - The host.s were great as was the facility. We were welcomed and given clear instructions about the home. Shower/bath was great and breakfast very good also. Would recommend to anyone staying in the Norwich area.
- Dianna (8/5): Very pleasant - Very obliging with dietary breakfast requirements.
Lovely and clean and very nice host. Lighting was very dim. Alot of road noise being in one of the front bedrooms
- Ivy (8/5): Very good -
- Frankgerald (8/5): Always pleasant - Breakfast did not happen due to 7:00 AM departure Earlier breakfast
- Ernie (10/5): Loved the Splendor Inn! -
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -

- Julie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely stay at the Splendor Inn. Comfortable room as described and pictured. Gracious hosts and delicious breakfasts.
- Kathryn (10/5): - Splendor B and B is excellent! Very pleasant rooms and common areas, expertly cooked breakfast, friendly host, great communication. The Inn is near Norwich’s downtown, with some nice restaurants and coffee shops. Beautiful, interesting town. I really enjoyed my stay!
- Michelle (10/5): - Fabulous bed and breakfast
- Renee (10/5): - Owner was away when I arrived and the “fill in” husband and wife duo were they. They were so kind and friendly and made the best pancakes I have ever had. On our check out day the owners were back and just as kind. Highly recommend.
- James (7/5): Nice B&B with friendly hosts. - Tastefully decorated. Good location. Great hosts. Room and baths were spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was disappointing. No cereals nor yogurt as advertised on their website. Food was not hot enough. Plus French toast portions were small. The bed and pillows in room 2 need to be replaced. Old and uncomfortable.
- Anonymous (10/5): Well maintained cozy room with a delicious full breakfast in the morning included! - The B & B was spacious and felt like home! Nothing that I didn’t like!
- Denise (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful B&B, welcoming hosts and friendly guests! Super clean and comfy! Delicious breakfast! Highly recommend!
- Kathleen (10/5): - Excellent breakfast. Room was great and the hosts were wonderful.
- Karen (8/5): - The food was delicious and service was personable and charming. We enjoyed our stay very much, The only improvement we could suggest is wifi access was difficult during the day. We would definely stay there again when in the area.
- Nathaniel (10/5): Would definitely return if we are in the area. - Fantastic value. Clean, comfortable and welcoming.
- Lorena (10/5): Amazing, and beautiful place! Best hosts ever! - We've loved everything, from the gorgeous decoration to the delicious homemade breakfast!! Great hosts and there are fresh fruit, coffee, tea, water and homemade cookies available 24/7.
We had a problem with our car in the middle of our road trip and we recieved unvaluable help from the hosts. They literally saved our day! everything was perfect
- Richard (10/5): - The host were very friendly and accommodating. The Breakfast was second to none. The only complaint was our bed was a little too hard.
- Christine (8/5): Very good -
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Breakfast was delicious!
- Marco (10/5): - Cris make you feel home
Maybe he needs to change the base of the bed but other than that excellent
- Jeffrey (9/5): Nice Inn and gracious host. - Breakfast excellent. Bed comfortable. Parking a little tight.
- Philip (9/5): Great location in a charming downtown - Perfect location in a charming downtown area within walking distance to restaurants. The breakfast was exceptional and included a number of tasty options. We particularly liked the blueberry fresh toast. The host was friendly, helpful and informative. The bed could have been more comfortable, but otherwise a great stay. We've stayed here twice and plan to come back again next year.
- The_world_traveler (7/5): Nice B&B in upstate with charming hosts - The host Chris was great. It was also terrific to have everything close and the added little amenities like available coffee and cold water and little snacks were great. Made the stay feel like home (almost). AC was woefully underpowered in my room. A single window unit for a large room. The windows drape was not light proof allowing early morning light to come through. Wifi was slow - ended up using my own phone's hotspot.
- Sarah (10/5): - The house was beautiful and very well kept. The owners were very friendly and accommodating.
- Anne (10/5): - Chris is an outstanding host, very friendly, professional, and accommodating. Breakfasts are truly outstanding! Property is in a very beautiful, safe, walkable area.
- Gary (10/5): - Attractive, comfortable, convenient, quiet with proper breakfast, attentive host and adorable little dog.
What’s not to like?
- Heidi (10/5): - The cook! Ann prepares flavor filled masterpieces from her kitchen. Fresh every time. Oh, and the cookies to die for.
- Amy (10/5): - Very friendly and clean! I highly recommend this place!
- Timothy (10/5): - Chris & Ann are very warm & very helpful. They are there for your every need & go the extra mile to make sure your stay is wonderful. I would highly recommend the Splendor Inn 🏡 to anyone. I loved the breakfast 🍳 & My children really enjoyed theirs also. Thank You Chris & Ann :) I’ll be seeing you this weekend…
- Irene (10/5): - Beautiful Inn, welcoming owner. Would definitely stay again!
- Michael (10/5): Incredible Bed and Breakfast in Norwich - I highly recommend this bed and breakfast! The owner Chris was incredibly friendly and the check in process was super smooth. The entire house was immaculate and my room was incredible. I have stayed in all of the hotels in Norwich and this is the one I would recommend above all other establishments!!!! I will definitely be looking to stay here again on my next visit to Norwich.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Clean, friendly and convenient to travel to Colgate University for a soccer game
- steven (10/5): - Very welcoming hosts! Wonderful room, excellent breakfast. Host provided great suggestions for plces to dine in the area.
- Michal (10/5): Great place to stay - Great hosts and fantastic property. Exactly as described. Loved it. Flexible owners, what else you can expect?
- Jaqueline (10/5): - Adorable place!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely host, comfortable, great amenities (Keurig, bottled water just down the hall, fruit and cookies), large room that was lockable with large comfy bed. Easy parking and unloading, lovely outdoor seating area. A very nice Victorian house easy to find, near shops and cafes. Beautiful rural region. The two minor aspects that were less than perfect were astroturf instead of real grass and a slippery shower floor. The host, Chris, was a delight, attentive and friendly. Would definitely return.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very accommodating hosts. Excellent value. Highly recommend
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Chris was very accomodating throughout the check-in process and was very helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was delicious as well! The property is beautiful, and I highly recommend anyone stay here if they are in the area.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We were not terribly impressed with the Splendor Inn. It was fine. But our room was tiny. Bathroom was tinier. And breakfast was mediocre at best. For a bed and breakfast, I expect a freshly made breakfast that is not reheated in the microwave. Coffee was weak and breakfast casseroles were disappointing.
- Christine (10/5): Cute B & B in a small NY town - The owners keep everything very clean. They were very nice and accommodating.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Chris and Anne made the stay feel like an English country side B&B; and really what more could you ask for...?
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The bed and breakfast was absolutely adorable! The room and bathroom were spotless clean as well as rest of the house. The host were very friendly and extremely helpful.
- SMcDaniel (10/5): - This really is an amazing place to stay. Where other "big box" hotels/motels focus on massive amounts of people, Chris and Anna try to make sure that those under their roof get the absolute best of everything. I felt at home as soon as I stepped in the door. And if you're concerned about price, being more expensive than those around, look at what you get for that price. Figure a breakfast of that caliber would cost you an additional $20 per person and you aren't having to go out in search of it.
I'm not one to normally stay at a B&B, but I will strongly consider it in the future. And I hope that my travels take me back to Splendor.
- Robert (10/5): Location is great! - Was a great stay - very quiet given the time of year. Very nice location to walk to town.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly staff and greated like family. Rooms were very clean and well stocked.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice little place. The room was good size and the bed was comfy. Nice people and a tasty breakfast.
