- Brittany (10/5): Incredible - Everything was amazing ! From the rooms to the view I truly appreciate you all making my birthday weekend special. Honestly I loved everything.
- Cindy (10/5): Perfection - just what we needed. - From the moment we entered the property and were greeted with a cocktail choice, we knew we were somewhere special. The view of the water from our balcony (and actually useful deck!) and we were smitten. In fact, we changed our dinner plans and went to the grocery store for snacks to enjoy at the property rather than going out. The breakfast in the morning was top tier - out standing host in Zac, wonderful owner in Rob. Absolutely no complaints of any kind from our magical stay at the Waterway. Not a darned thing! This place was exactly what we were hoping to find and we were not disappointed. Having access to the historic downtown of Charleston was just minutes away.
- Donna (10/5): -
- Steve (10/5): Awesome - Great location, very clean and great host. No TV in room. But we managed with our phones and iPad.
- Briane (10/5): - What a great B&B. Beautiful inside and outside. The views can’t be beat. Zach and Rob are great hosts and do everything to make you feel at home! The breakfasts were fantastic. And the Orchids! Great job Zach

- David (10/5): - This place is truly a gem both in terms of accommodations as well as hosts. Zack and Rob were so welcoming and just plain friendly we could have talked for hours.
The home is one that my wife and I will be frequenting often. She is from Charleston and to find this beautiful quiet home that is so convenient to downtown is a treasure. The scenery is breathtaking from your bedroom to the pool to the boat dock. Sunsets are amazing. The appointments are great and certainly first class but made us feel at home.
Now the breakfast. Delicious in every aspect of the word. Omelettes, waffles, fruit, fresh baked bread, coffee. Yes truly top notch. It rained while we were there and we were absolutely fine enjoying the property in doors. So the pool and dock next time.
Zack/Rob, thank you for such an enjoyable and relaxing weekend.

The meticulously cared-for grounds provided stunning views and a serene environment, perfect for relaxation, enjoying breathtaking sunsets, and even spotting dolphins. The location was also ideal—close to town with plenty of convenient DoorDash options.
Breakfast was a true highlight—healthy, flavorful, and lovingly prepared. And the coffee? Easily some of the best I’ve ever had!

It's fantastic. Pool and outside areas was awesome and great 1st few days when weather was nice. Comfortable beds, everything we needed was there as far as toiletries... Really enjoyable place to stay and would recommend it for anyone who wants quick access to Downtown Charleston (20 minute drive) but also have access to the nearby islands (35 - 45 minute drive). Rooms and all over decor have the sophisticated laid back elegance of the world travelers they are.
Has Zack trained at the Ritz? I asked myself the question as he is gracious, attentive seems to know what I may need before I do.
I loved my 3 days with them. Am coming back with my sister this automne. We are both interested in history and architecture. On this side of the pond this is just about as good as it gets.
Thank you Zack et Rob for a beautiful stay.
- Ricky (10/5): Charleston we finally made it - Rob and zack treat you like family from the second your enter there gourg home. The views where breathtaking, the breakfast was filling and delicious. The conversation is even better than the food, if that is even possible..... If you ever get a chance to stay here don’t hesitate. You will not regret it. Thanks again gentlemen. - Patnagary (10/5): - During the time of the pandemic this B&B was the perfect non-hotel location on the river with gorgeous Five oaks. The hosts Rob and Zach so interesting to talk with having lived all over the world made for break great breakfast conversation. Very easy access to downtown historic Charleston. Zach Fixed wonderful breakfast including sausage from all over the world and fruit smoothies every morning. We visited Middleton place to focus on outdoor activities and can't wait to come back to see if the camellias in bloom over the winter. The room was very spacious with a king size bed and an outdoor seating area with a canopy. Pat n Gary from Southport NC

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great, personal service, beautiful setting, and clean, comfortable accommodations.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a superb B&B in every respect - truly a role model. Friendly, educated hosts, beautiful home, lovely bedroom with an awesome view of the river. And, excellent breakfasts each morning.
- Margaret (10/5): A perfect end to perfect holiday - This was the relaxing end to a 3 week road trip. We were so looking forward to this stay that we wondered if it would live up to expectations. Well if it was possible it exceeded all of our hopes. The welcome from Robert and Zack was warm and a cup of tea was made. Then at check in you could see the beautiful ground floor of their tasteful home. But the views from all the first floor bedrooms and large balconies were amazing. We were proud to share their home and would not hesitate to recommend others to enjoy this outstanding home.
- Ryan (10/5): Best place to stay in Charleston! - Had an amazing first trip to Charleston. First time staying in a bed and breakfast and could not have been more pleased. Enjoyed everything about it.
- JIm (10/5): - One of the nicest places we have ever stayed. Highly recommend this place to everyone
- David (10/5): Perfect stay....stunning setting/great hospitality - Robert and Zach were awesome hosts. We enjoyed our couple days at waterway. The setting is amazing, the location is nice(15 minutes to downtown$12-15 Uber). We have stayed at the nicer hotels in downtown and mount pleasant....the waterway is nicer and half the cost. A healthy light breakfast is served daily. Robert even shared a bottle of bubbly for my wife’s birthday....cheers guys. Book the waterway...you will not regret it!
- Jason (10/5): Great for couples, off the beaten path, worth it! - Far exceeded our expectations. Beautiful home, with great views from any bedroom. Loved hanging out on the dock in the evenings. Will absolutely return, and for a longer stay. We only got to stay one night this time. It was a 10-15 min. drive to the historic district, but that was a good thing, as staying here really brought reality to the saying "get away". So relaxing. Excellent service, and super friendly, while easily having our own space when desired. I've seen complaints about breakfast. My comment on that, if you're main reason to stay in a Charleston B&B is to eat a huge, calorie-ridden breakfast, then OK, maybe this wouldn't be your first choice. We were served a delightful, and healthy, smoothie, choice of cheese, yogurt, and fresh bread, with a nice variety of jams and jellies. For us, it was perfect. We eat healthy on a regular basis, and got to enjoy something different here. I found the change in breakfast style to be a welcome addition to our stay. Again, highly recommended!
- Karen (10/5): - We LOVED Robert and Zach! Our stay was so relaxed and their bed and breakfast is the perfect place to unplug. The rooms (2nd floor) were very clean and opened onto a large shared deck overlooking the water and beautiful moss covered oak trees. The swing hanging from the huge oak tree was my favorite spot! The Roam bath ammenities smelled wonderful and I'm going to order for my bathroom at home. I'm not a morning person, so my husband enjoyed going down to breakfast and visiting with other guests and brought me up a cappuccino from Zach while I got ready for the day. They offered everything from wine to mimosas and the first night Robert, Zach and the other couple and us took his boat to the crab shack. We saw bottlenosed dolphins along the way! Our last night there, Zach made an amazing authentic Indonesian stirfry along with cocktails, fresh strawberries and cream for dessert. If you want to watch TV in your room, bring your laptop. They have a fridge stocked with bottled water (and coke). This was nice to have to start the day. Its very convenient to everywhere in Charleston and no more rgan 30 min drive to anywhere around. Head over to Shem Creek in Mt Pleasant for amazing cocktails and grilled seafood. Shem Creek Bar and Grill were my fave...done in butter and garlic so I could somewhat stick to my lowcarb. We wont talk about fun, fruity drinks!!
I give this a 10 star rating and we will be back again soon!!!
Thank you Robert and Zach!! 😍😍😍😍😘😘😘😘
- Robert (10/5): A beautiful place to stay when visiting Charleston - The owner and manager were both extremely helpful, generous and pleasant. We appreciated their hospitality and highly recommend this hotel/bed and breakfast.
- Greg (10/5): B&B for the SOUL - The place is simply picturesque. Built in 1999, eclectic and very tastefully furnished. The owner is a South African "Chap" some Africana decor, not at all overly done, just the right amount. The setting is sitting perfectly on a point. Huge old trees which have been on the property for 150 plus years, spanish moss hanging down as if it were hand placed in just the right places. Boat dock on the property. Sun sets are beyond words.
Now, the proprietor (Rob) is a true joy to speak with. Easily engaged and the perfect host, along with his very apt Inn Keeper (Zachary). Truly, TRULY warm and welcoming hosts. Breakfast was perfect Light Fare (French Country), baguette jams and jellies, fruit, yogurt, cereal, a very good smoothie, juice and a very good cup or three of coffee. Wife had cappuccino, that she enjoyed.
We look forward to our next stay in Charleston. BTW, its only a short easy drive to historic Charleston. Or Rob is happy to give a boat tour of the Bay and the USS Yorktown etc. Not sure of the cost, as we just did not have the time.
- Amy (10/5): Great Bed and Breakfast!! - This is an amazing Bed and Breakfast right on the water! It includes free parking, free breakfast, a king size bed, a huge personal bathroom and closet and a room that has it's own roof-top patio overlooking the river. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. When I booked this I did not know it was a Bed and Breakfast. We actually didn't find out it was one until our arrival. The house has 3 bedrooms (all upstairs) and according to the staff they are keep full most of the time. We were very comfortable there and relaxed on our deck and at the boat dock and swing. Great B & B.
- Patrick (10/5): Amazing service!! - Great views and service. The place felt more like a home versus a hotel. I can't wait for the next opportunity to stay at Waterways bed and breakfast.
- Claire (10/5): - A SPECTACULAR GETAWAY!!! Hospitable hosts that cater to all of your personal needs. Beautiful relaxing haven with a gorgeous view of the lake from the balcony of each room. Got to even see dolphins!! Wonderful entertaining and fact finding conversation!!! Upon leaving, i felt like i was blessed with new friends for life!! Thanks Rob and Zack!! Will definitely be back!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Rob and Zach were the most
- Kemberly (10/5): - This place is amazing! We just stayed one night and were off to other destinations but we will definitely be back for a longer stay. It is decorated beautifully, the view is spectacular, the hosts are warm and friendly and it was conveniently located. It’s refreshing to stay somewhere that is as sparkling clean as this is!
- JANINE (10/5): - Overall the experience at the Waterway exceeded our expectations. The view of the water from our room and deck was spectacular! We enjoyed sitting on the private dock watching the sun set. Rob and Zach were friendly, attentive and interesting. The scenic backyard and the welcoming environment provided by Rob and Zach was worth the stay!!
- Ileana & Mark (10/5): Wonderful views, great place to be - Our stay was wonderful. We were greeted promptly upon arrival by our friendly hosts. The properly is very nicely maintained both inside and outside. It has a relaxing and inviting atmosphere and charm. Breakfast was a nice and unexpected treat, with fresh smoothies, jams, and warm baguettes. We look forward to returning to visit Charleston and also our new friends we found here.
- Linda (10/5): Beautiful home and gracious hosts - Zack and Rob made our first time visit to Charleston a memorable one. Waterway is a beautiful place and we can't say enough wonderful things about Zack and Rob. Breakfast was just right to start our day right. We even shared a tasty dinner prepared by Zack with both of them and with their neighbors. Conversations were plenty, informative and fun! Zack and Rob even took my husband out to water ski during our visit - what a treat for him. We will definitely stayed at Waterway on our next trip to Charleston.
- Pietro (10/5): Great B&B on wonderful location - One of the best B&B experiences ever. Rob and Zach are super fiendly and helpful. We had long interesting conversations. The house is beautiful, located near the water with balconies, a porch, a pier, wonderful trees. I could continue like this. Breakfast is good, the smoothies are phenomenal. Safe Parking is on the property. Car ride is 10-15 minutes to Charleston tourist attractions. Also only 20 minutes to Magnolia Gardens or Middelton Plantation. If you consider a B&B for visiting Charleston, come here.
- Michele (10/5): Quiet local getaway on the water . . . - What a wonderful bed and breakfast with very friendly and gracious hosts!! A nice and comfortable room that leads out to a balcony with incredible views of Stono River. There's also a lovely covered seating area outside that overlooks a peaceful back yard with majestic grand oaks. And an awesome deck to enjoy the breathtaking sunsets on the river. Location is great too - you can be downtown or to one of the beaches with just a short drive. We were looking for a quiet get-a-way to enjoy the water and The Waterway definitely delivered! We would recommend to anyone and would love to visit again!!
