• Ana (9/5): I loved Split, its atmosphere, Luxury Rooms Paula was the perfect place to stay and explore the city - The location was perfect, right in the heart of the old town. The room was spacious, very comfortable, clean, and bright. Set in a charming, typical old building, it beautifully preserved its original features The only downside is that it’s located in a square surrounded by restaurants, so it can sometimes get quite noisy. Even with the windows closed, you could still hear people outside

• Scott (7/5): - The property was very nice and in an ideal location for us. Using WhatsApp for communication. I did not have that on my phone and had never used it. All the access communication was sent WhatsApp and I didn’t get it. We spent a couple hours in the street in front of the property before we could get in. The WhatsApp requirement should have been crystal clear at the time the reservation was made.

• Debra (8/5): - Good location except for the very noisy and busy bars directly outside. Be mindful that a basic facility of a clean room is not included in the price you pay per night it is an additional €30 cash at the end of your stay. If you have cases these apartments are 2 floors up so quite a bit of carrying. The room was nice enough. WiFi air con and lighting excellent. The windows managed to keep majority of the sound out.

• Patricia (4/5): - This property was a major disappointment. It looked nothing like the photos in the listing — the images were clearly misleading. To make matters worse, I was sent a completely different address than the one advertised, with no explanation or heads-up. The property itself, while reasonably well serviced (clean and with the basics provided), was clearly old and very poorly decorated — a far cry from what was shown online. When I tried to contact the host to clarify the situation upon check-in, I was completely ignored and eventually blocked. The host only unblocked me at the end of my stay to send check-out instructions and continued to ignore all of my messages and concerns. This experience was unprofessional, frustrating, and not worth the trouble. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

• CHIKAKO (2/5): - 部屋が広くて清潔でした。また、ケトルやマグカップ、ハンガーなど、滞在に必要なものはすべて揃っていた。 まずオーナーとの連絡はwhatsappというアプリからしかできません。booking.comのメッセージでやり取りしたいと言っても断られました。 また、部屋のドアが重くて開けるのがとても難しいです。部屋に入る度にオーナーの方に連絡して、ドアを開けてもらう必要がありました。ただ、ドアが開かないという問合せには、きちんと対応してもらえました。 滞在中に、「部屋のインターネットが使えるか？」という連絡が突然きました。使用できない状況だったのでその旨を連絡したら、数分後に「部屋のWi-Fiは使える」というメッセージが返ってきました。ですが、やはり使えない状態のままでした。なぜ連絡してきたのか、なぜ使えると断言してきたのかは不明です。

• Norma Angelica (8/5): - Property is located within the palace walls. Walking distance to plenty of shopping, dining, bus/shuttle stops, and waterfront. Even though property entrance is located right next to a busy Mexican Restaurant, we never heard any of the restaurant noise once inside. Although, when inside you could hear the neighbors coming in and out and foot steps upstairs. Once we were able to find the location and enter the main entrance of the property with a digital code, the instructions provided stated that the room was on the 2nd floor but it really was on the 3rd (luckily we were provided pictures of each door). The hallways and interior was very dark and we couldn't find light switches until we used our cell phone flash light to look around. Once on the 3rd floor we had to press a keypad to contact a person by speaker box to let us in and unlock 2 more doors. Finally, when arrived at the room, the keys were on the counter for us to use. Keys wouldnt open the main (1st) door easily at first but eventually we gained practice and got faster. The shower sprayed a lot of water onto the bathroom floor despite our best efforts to prevent it and we had to use more of our towels to keep the floor dry. Housekeeping was not in there daily. Overall, I would rent this place again. Despite the above hiccups, it was clean inside and felt safe. It was spacious, it had enough counter space, the a/c worked well, and the best thing was being walking distance to everything.

• Lisa (8/5): Fantastic location, clean & modern but only given 1 key & can’t knock on door - The location couldn’t be better. It was just off the main plaza & down a small laneway with a Mexican restaurant/bar at the bottom (which you couldn’t hear due to the double glazed windows - which could be opened for fresh air). It was central to everything & only a couple of minutes to the water. It was also clean & modern looking with lots of English channels on the tv. The bathroom was modern & spacious. It had a bar fridge with a small freezer which I needed for ice packs as I had an injury. You only get 1 key and it needs to change to 2 keys as standard protocol, especially as your partner can’t knock on the door to get in because there is a 2nd door & an alcove with entrance to 3 apartments & they can’t hear you banging on that 2nd door. It had serious consequences & great inconvenience & pain for me. It nearly left me locked out of the room for the night. My partner went back to the room at about 10pm on the way home from dinner as he needed to go to the toilet & I said I would look at the shops in the square & be there soon. He couldn’t hear me banging on the 2nd door, forgot to take his phone off silent, my phone was running out of battery. The button you press to originally get in told me I had no authority, if didn’t connect me to the man as before. I sat in the dark for 45 minutes as the light goes off very quickly & I have a herniated disc so getting up constantly was too painful. I tried to contact him every way I could, it was telling me his phone was disconnected! I wasn’t confident the owner would answer watsapp at 11.30pm. Luckily he eventually came out. I thought he had fallen asleep which he normally does. The next day it happened again as our phones were having trouble connecting. I was stuck on the stairs for 30 minutes. But we shouldn’t have to rely on phones to get in our room. When overseas they aren’t as reliable. My partner always goes out earlier than me, so this time I was either stuck in the room, or had to be woken up go get up & open the 2 doors. It is dangerous, not having direct access to the door, a woman could be locked out all night because their roommate has fallen asleep. It also disrupts the locals living there which I hate doing. You have to bang on the door in the stairwell trying to get in. There was an older lady that lived across the hall and it’s not fair on her. It’s easy to fix. It was a wonderful place but I wouldn’t stay there again unless that was the case.

• Gary (9/5): Very enjoyable stay. Would stay again. - Great location in the old town. A little difficult to find initially. Very clean, lots of cupboard/hanging space. The bed topping was 2 single dooners for a couple sleeping together. Not able to be tucked in / secured. 3 Pillows - 1 was great the other 2 were too soft offering no support. The main issue was regarding the main door locking mechanism - it needs attention.

The room & ensuite was lovely, big spacious shower room is always a great thing. The only downfall I have on this place is the lack of service. We were here for 5 nights, we were given 2 towels. I asked if the towels were changed regularly & I was told they don’t. Alternatively they gave us 2 more towels but it still was no where enough.

• Ian (10/5): Heart of the Old City experience. - Beautifully appointed apartment in the heart of the Old City with a lovely outlook through the shutters onto a great little square / bar. A little away from the busiest area, which is great. Hosts communication was responsive and helpful. Some steps but part of the unique experience staying in such an ancient building.

• Boris (8/5): Comfortable, spacious, centrally located apartment with great AC and bathroom. - Very well appointed apartment, great bed, spacious and very clean. Excellent air-conditioning and wifi. Super central location. Excellent bathroom/shower. Linens, towels, all quality and clean. Would definitely consider returning. This is very centrally located so far a bit far from transportation, parking, etc. The entryway is old and could be cleaner. There was absolutely no "view" but that was expected and not an issue. I was there at a peak time so was a bit expensive but in line with other options.

As there is a fridge might have been nice to have milk or at least milk satchets.. Shower gel and condioner looked like previous guests leftovers which spoilt overall luxury look.. Would have been nice to have had matching products.

The room was a nice size, very clean and tidy and being in the centre meant easy access to everything we wanted to see. There could have been shower gel provided (there were only 3 bottles of shampoo and no shower gel). The door of the room was a bit tricky to work with at times.

• Stephanie (9/5): Superb - Fun location in Heritage site in Old Town Split. So convenient. One of the owners picked us up from the airport and helped us to our room since we arrived so late which was amazing as don't think we would have found it otherwise. Windows slightly touchy. Second Night we had to keep it open and sleep with earplugs because we couldn't get the air-conditioning on. Not a drama if you have ear plugs.

It was clean and the host was very responsive to our messages and questions We arrived later in the day so it was dark and harder to navigate inside the old town so took a bit longer to find the door that lead to the place. We couldn’t get the air conditioner to work but it wasn’t too warm outside so it was ok with window open.

So was pleased to have good products. Instructions were very clear to get there. Noisy area. For the room, could do with a few more towels. And beach towel options would be a plus.

• Erin (6/5): Nice place but witj no flexibility would find somewhere else to stay in future. - Once I found it, very easy to access to/from the palace or the port. No actual humans I met with and no flexibility on in or out times. Plus no where to hold your luggage with coming and going. No personable at all. And maybe I have used booking.com enough but when I messaged, they responded in WhatsApp, not booking.com. I didn’t know till many messages later. I thought they were ignoring me.
• Anna (5/5): Passable - The room was clean and the air was on the whole time. The bathroom was fairly large. Standard room for what you get. It was noisy and it was really hard to find. The host did not provide enough directions on how to get there, or any help, and we ended up wandering around for an hour with our bags. The entrance to the place was also sketchy and smelly, but it is a room in an apartment building with various shared entrances. It was hard to open the windows and get some natural light in.

The safety deposit box was missing a battery therefore didn’t work. When ask for it to be fixed we were told they would but made know attempted to fix it.

• Louise (6/5): Pleasant - It was clean. It was so hot in the room, the aircon did not work very well which meant we had a terrible sleep. The doors did not open very well to get into the room.
• Catherine (9/5): Clean stay great location - To be upfront — we didn't end up staying here because the air conditioning was broken and they moved us to another one of their properties. However, we were in the room for a few hours and the room itself was very nice. Well-appointed, clean and with a very large bathroom. Smart tv and mini-fridge are handy. If the AC had worked, we would have definitely stayed. Location is fantastic and the directions for finding the property were super clear and helpful. The room was very clean, but it also had a smell. Almost like a dampness or something. But, the room didn't feel damp, so I'm not really sure what it was. It wasn't unbearable, but it was definitely present. Of course, the biggest downside was that the AC was broken during a heatwave. We really appreciated the owners moving us to another property. But, if they didn't happen to have a cancelation, I don't know what we would have done. It was 30 degrees in the room and really unbearable. Since this is an essential feature in the summer, I do think it should have been checked before we checked-in. If it wasn't for the AC problem, I'd say this place is a 10 for what it offers for the value.

• Fatima (9/5): Better then expected! - The rooms are very nice, exactly as photos, the beds very comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The bathroom is big and nice. The location was amazing, right in the center of the old town and even though there are bars and restaurants around there is no noise in the rooms. The entrance of the building needs some repairs.
