Our elevator is currently out of order and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. All accessible rooms are located on the Ground Floor but we understand that this may impact guests in other rooms. Please feel free to contact us to discuss if you believe this will impact your stay.
Any guests requiring dinner must pre-book a table to avoid disappointment.
Dogs are permitted and a charge of £20 per dog per night applies, payable at the hotel.

- Julie (5/5): - The location and free parking. It's almost like they don't care! The hotel was unbearably warm. It was tatty. We had a lovely large bedroom where the curtains either didn't reach the floor or they were off the curtain ring, making it look like a drug den. What's with all of the lights? The walls were paper thin. We could hear the people in the next room talking. Breakfast was okay. The male member of staff lurked and took our juice glasses without asking. He just dived on them. Don't get me started on the fake plastic metro tiles in the dining room. We checked out a day early! The receptionist didn't check our booking, just took the key card and waved us away. No words of safe travels or have a nice day....! We had just completed the NC500 in Scotland. We stayed in 9 other hotels along the way. This was the most disappointing.

Staff v helpful .Bed linen and towels v clean and good quality. Bed v comfortable . Beautiful views from terrace . Ample parking. Rooms tired needed some freshening up and maintenance. Rust on bathroom radiator and metal work round toilet. Shower and basin very slow to drain . Especially an issue in the accessible bathroom wet floor area. Disappointed with evening meal choice and quality.
- John (8/5): Great Hotel in a good location with friendly staff. - The Hotel is in a good location to Windermere or Bowness. Lovely spacious ground floor room in the Annexe with a country view and private patio with a table and chairs. Super comfy extra large bed, robes and slippers provided, and all the amenities you could need. Only 2 hangers in the wardrobe so good job we always take our own. Short walk from the Annexe to the Hotel for breakfast, which had a good selection of cereals, freshly cooked food, pastries, yoghurt etc., and a coffee machine to help yourself. Staff very friendly and helpful too. Free on site parking which is a bonus. I'd have no hesitation in recommending the Windermere Manor Hotel and we'll definitely return again in the future. Nothing
- parul (5/5): - The property location and the property itself was surrounded by beautiful nature..it is simply phenomenal to experience the nature and beautiful surroundings. Room size was good. Staff would help you and guide you, but after rolling their eyes and making faces! Basic amenities like shampoo and conditioner was not in the bathroom... bathroom has some bad smell, for which they sprayed room freshener but the smell came back within hours.

A lovely view of the lake Didn’t realise we were going to be in an annex but was really big and very clean .breakfast was really good My only disappointment was the evening meal . - David (5/5): not as expected but comfortable - warm welcome from Amy I think her name was. the food was excellent the steak cooked perfectly and scrambled egg for breakfast! was lovely. the location was great. plenty of amenities in the room. for the first time plenty of milk portions for tea and coffee rather than the standard 2 or 4. bed was comfy. dining room, very small and with staff it felt like they were hovering which they weren't its just a small space. ordering at the bar area was a let down, in a period hotel in a great location I would of expected table service to add to the experience. bit of a mix of old and new times I guess. the bedroom in the annexe was an upgrade however although a large bathroom the shower let the experience down. it has zero pressure for a proper shower, burnt my back briefly when water went super hot then super cold and the grouting was just awful, I mean it doesn't take long to clean at all regularly. view from upgraded room wasn't great as upgraded to annexe and had a view of the road. no mattress protector on bed just sheet which felt a little uncomfortable as previous guests would most likely also of not had the protector meaning sweat etc. could go onto mattress whilst sleeping.

I BOOKED IT AFTER STAYING AT ANTHER PLACE I HAD BOOKED FOR TWO NIGHTS BUT LEFT AFTER THE FIRST NIGHT AS ITS STANDING WHERE NOT UP TO IT. LUCKILY THIS HOTEL HAD ROOM AVAILABLE YOU CARN'T BEAT GOING TO A HOTEL YOU LIKE. THERE IS NOTHING TO DISLIKE AT THIS HOTEL.
- Kelley (10/5): Fantastic lake getaway with a lovely pool to swim off the Wainright aches :-) - Fantastic property 15 mins walk from Bowness-on-Windermere. Loved the location, facilities, including a pool which was fab! Rooms were great and spacious for the price we paid as breakfast was lovely. The staff were excellent, friendly, super diligent and attentive to every guests needs - they couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect. Only bad thing was we were only staying for 1 night! We will be back, thank you again for a fab stay! Rooms were a teeny bit dated, but this reflected the price and there was a stain on the carpet upstairs.

The hotel had lots of fab features, a great breakfast offering, and best of all the view from the terrace of the lake and hills beyond. Ample parking and a 2 mile easy walk into Bowness, or short drive/bus ride. Only gave 9 stars as the bathroom flooded at each use of the shower

- Leon (9/5): The room enhanced my trip to the Lakes. - Stayed in one of the Annex rooms with an outside area facing the lake. The views were beautiful and made the room extra special. Breakfast was included in the price and was perfect. All the usual choices to eat and a professional coffee machine to enjoy. Would strongly recommend a stay here. No mini fridge in the room is the only negative.

- hw524 (10/5): With gratitude to Manor hotel - My friend Janice and I were looking on a voucher website to book a hotel in Windermere. We came across the Manor Hotel but had trouble making the booking using the said website. So my friend rung up the hotel directly and spoke to a very nice lady called Rita who confirmed availability and sorted out a booking for us. After a long drive there, we were in awe of seeing such an impressive looking building in wonderful landscaped grounds with plenty of free parking. The inside was equally impressive. A lovely receptionist gave us the key card to the room and as luck had it , Rita booked us a twin room with a view over to the lake in the distance. The Manor hotel comes with a lovely and very clean swimming pool. We even discovered gowns and slippers in our bedroom cupboard to wear for going down to the pool, the towels you find at the pool side. All very well organised. My friend and I had a swim every morning before breakfast. Talking of breakfast, there is a choice of hot English breakfast and another section of more continental choice. We always sat in the conservatory breakfast room with a view across the well kept garden terrace over to the lake. My bed was super comfy. The room had an ensuite bathroom, TV and tea and coffee making facility. Our thanks go to all hotel staff from cleaner to room attendant, kitchen and bar staff, reception and manager for being very helpful and accommodating, making our three night break a fantastic memorable stay. We definitely would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing stay in Windermere. Thanks again Hildegard and Janice

With special areas for the dog to go off the lead in their grounds Personally I would have liked our room to be cleaner, it wasn't unclean in general but it lacked the attention to detail. For example the skirting boards and the shelves in the cupboard were dusty.

Also was close to the road so was noisy all night due to traffic! Room was dated and not very clean, mould in bathroom on tiles within shower area, carpet frayed near patio. Staff couldn’t care less just advised next time I book stay in the main house, joke

La porte de la salle de bain grincait avec la fenêtre ouverte,on a cherché jusqu'à 1h du matin pour comprendre que s'était ça et pas le sol et les gens d'une chambre voisine comme on le pensait au départ, dommage!

- Erika (9/5): Lovely hotel - We loved the all the things this hotel has to offer. Beautiful place, well looked after garden, beautiful view, lovely staff. Our room was serviced every morning and staff couldn’t do enough for us. Swimming pool was open all day and we could use it anytime we wanted. The building is a bit tired and can be noisy in the rooms at times. We stayed in room 16 and we could hear guests talking, having shower and the lift was noisy too. We had to be quiet as the guests under us complained that they could hear our tv going.

Bed was comfortable The receptionist didn't tell us there was a lift. So we struggled up stairs with suitcases. The dinner was a disaster, as agency staff didn't have adequate training. They forgot to put our order in. And next evening after ordering dinner they run out of batter for the fish. So we decided to eat out for dinner. The breakfast was adequate, but could do better

My room was inviting very very clean and my bed was so very comfy. The staff were very attentive and excellent customer service . The lady at reception helped by taking my bags to my room whilst I parked my car. I felt very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The finshed breakfast plates were cleared efficiently and breakfast options were just right. Lucy was very friendly and helped me with being vegetarian at breakfast and had a genuine interest in me as a guest . I dont normally say it often but would definately stay here again well done to all the staff

My husband’s steak was nearly inedible. I has salmon with a sweet chilli glaze. The piece of salmon was clearly a cheap, frozen square shaped piece & it was just covered in sweet chilli sauce. It was also a shame we could not check in until 4pm

Good facilities in the room with lots of storage space. Unfortunately the bathroom wasn’t very clean. Hand marks and soap stains on the bathroom wall and a large amount of pubic hair behind the toilet which floated out when we accidentally sloshed water out of the bath.

Booked a room with lake and mountain views, was told that it was either lake, mountain or garden views, and to talk to Booking.com over the confusion. On Booking.com the AI chat said to take it up with the hotel!!! Bedroom floor (and throughout the hotel) not very clean. On two of the three days that we stayed our menu choice was unavailable due to the waiter/kitchen computerized ordering system failure, and the next day they had no batter for the fried fish !!!!!!!

- Mick (8/5): Very pleasant and an ideal place to stay for Lake Windermere. - We had room 6 which overlooked the front gardens and car parking area with a side door leading onto a balcony. Quite pleasent. Breakfast was a self service arrangment with English and Continental available although the English was not really of a high standard compared with other hotels of the same price range we have stayed in. Location was perfect for us, very quiet and peaceful. The RAF use Windermere as a training area so a short airshow is provided with a bit of sudden loud jet noise. Variety of the evening menu could be better especially if your staying for a week or more and not planning to eat elsewhere. Suggest others check the menu for their own opinion on this. Food quality was good for us.

It is a great location, especially with the parking facility at the hotel. Only observation was the light above the bed was so dim it was difficult to read a book before sleeping.
