Guest Reviews
- Victoria (8/5): Really lovely homestay with very welcoming family tucked away in peaceful surroundings - It’s a really lovely homestay. The terrace overlooking the jungle was perfect, felt really secluded and peaceful. Loved being in the homestay, the family were very welcoming and you get a glimpse into everyday life. Very easy to get grab taxis to go to the rice terraces or into ubud. We loved it. But it is a homestay so just need to set expectations in terms of basic room etc compared to a fancy hotel. But it was generally clean and felt safe, bed was comfortable.

- Marta (10/5): It was great value for money - The family running it was very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice and clean with a small kitchenette outside (a sink and one stove). And the view at the jungle was beautiful. Nothing
- Natasa (10/5): - Balcony with jungle view
Quiet, away but no too far from busy Ubud center
Friendly and helpful staff
Motorbike rent possible Only cold water in shower
- Tahir (6/5): - The location is just 10mins north of Ubud, closer to waterfalls and rices terraces away from the hustle. Room is looking directly to the jungle, you can feel at your own nobody to bother you around. There is no more than what you see in the photos. One thing missing was lack of hangers, I couldn’t even hang my towel. No soap like cleaning stuff when I asked for them I was told not included. There is a small kitchen area but the equipment is old or not seemingly clean enough to use. I am lucky to stay here with a discounted price, would be very upset if I was paying the full price
- Daniela (10/5): Serenety - Very clean , and wonderful view
- Mukherjee (10/5): -
- RONDOG (9/5): About 3k outside of Ubud centre. Nice rice fields nearby. Lovely family. - Lovely family. Serviced room when requested Probably could update kitchen equipment
- Соумйа Сурави (6/5): Cute stay with little manageable difficulties - Liked the location and cute room Didn’t like the fact that the bidet in the bathroom was not working plus there were mosquitoes.

- Niki (9/5): A perfect, peaceful & accesible family home stay near the rice paddies. - I really liked my room & especially the balcony & view. The family are so kind & gentle & helped me with my trip, collecting me from Sanur & taking me to my next stay. I loved seeing their everyday life & their beautiful children.
The air con, fridge, water & comfortable large bed were much appreciated & I enjoyed walking up to the Pyramid of Chi & then through the rice paddies to Ubud.

- Nicole (4/5): Disappointing - View from the balcony. Privacy Respiratory problems and sick after staying in this room. The room need deep cleaning, and some renovation. The pillow have to be changed, it was full of molt. Also the Ac is super dirty, that s why i got sick :(
- Rio (9/5): Superb -
- Rio (9/5): Superb -
- Hongdou (10/5): Exceptional - all good~recommend ,and see you next time in Bali Nothing
- Stella (10/5): A quiet and hidden gem in busy Ubud - It is super quiet and magic, has its own temple and the view from the balcony is amazing
- Marie-luise (8/5): I would recommend that place. - Is super beautiful with the jungle and the small cooking area in front of the room. You have a lot of privacy what I really liked. You’re in the jungle, of course more insects like ants and mosquitoes buts normal.
- Victoria (4/5): nice location, but very dirty - What I liked:
The price is very affordable, and the location is great. It’s a convenient place that does the job if you just need a quick stay What I didn’t like:
Unfortunately, the cleanliness was a big issue. The ventilation cover looked like it had never been cleaned, and the bedsheets didn’t seem fresh. The owner even mentioned he doesn’t use regular detergent, which I don’t consider a positive. The floor was dirty, with cobwebs and ants. I ended up sleeping in my clothes and using my own towel as a cover.
- Antonio (8/5): Good place if you find calm - I been there about 20 days in different rooms, in the first room in my opinion was 8 and the second room 9, because the second room was all a bit better.
For my the best about this room is the calm, even in the room more under you’ll can listen the river in the night.
- Herwindo (9/5): Superb -
- Yanina (9/5): Superb -
- Alice (9/5): I loved it - Very quiet and peaceful. View of a big lush green area. A small kitchenette on the balcony. Very sweet family that were very helpful if I needed something.
- Hbi (10/5): Exceptional -
- City (10/5): Exceptional - Very good environment, no Air-conditioning is needed at night, strong wi-fi, excellent balcony view , value for money Bring your own toiletries
- Leo (7/5): Should be cleaner - Epic view (had the top room luckily) and after asking, I did receive a second towel (I was alone, but had a double bed room booked).
BUT... ...that second towel seemed to have been the limit.
When I asked for another little towel for the floor in front of the bathroom on day3 (the old one was soaking wet), the man simply refused and said I already asked for a towel yesterday.
I really just tried to keep my room clean but wasn't even provided with a second floor towel - maybe I should have just asked them to clean the room instead. Idk.
But it made me feel bit unwelcome.
Also the bathroom has many many rocks on the floor and the way they "clean" it is by pouring clorine and chemicals over them, that's it. When I dropped the soap during my first shower and picked it up again, I picked up a bunch of hair from the privious girl living there with it (like heeaps). Which told me, that they don't really clean the bathroom (it would be a lot of work to do it properly with all these rocks - weird concept).
Yeah 7 stars I give but if you're a hygiene nerd, book another place.
Also heaps of dirt and dust underneath the bed and other furniture. Proper cleaning is definitely not a priority here. There are better places in Ubud in the same price range.
- Alice (10/5): Great place! Loved it - Very peaceful and quiet with a nice view, full of jungle. The family was super friendly and helpful and made me feel right at home. The location is great. You can walk to some nice cafés nearby, with healthy food and there is not so much traffic. But if you want to go to downtown Uber, you can just take a scooter or a grab. For me, it was perfect. Even had a little tea kitchen where I cooked some breakfast and it had a fridge.
- Scarano (7/5): Good - The family at Manwarsa guesthouse was so kind. We loved the family feeling there and felt like we were a small part of their everyday life :) I loved the view of the nature from the balcony of our room. It was so peaceful to hear the river down below. Also loved the location- very quiet street with good food walking distance and also close enough to ubud center I would have liked a window in the bathroom. Otherwise no issues
- Dehant (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fernando (10/5): Very good place - Very clean place
The owners are very nice and helpful

- Linglart (8/5): Very good - Really Nice family and view on the jungle
- Timofey (10/5): Exceptional - The guest room is absolutely awesome, with a very comfort balcony and view on the forest. The owner, Manwarsa is tge greatest and kindest person, with a beautiful family, and he is also an excellent driver who made a super peice for driving me to Amed. It was a lovely homestay, and a very great trip! Thank you very much, Manwarsa for this wonderful experience!🙏❤️
- Erinn (1/5): Dirty room - beware. - The view The lower room with the prayer book statue is not clean. The pillows have black mould, the outside kitchen had food scraps in the sink, the bathroom was filthy with a dirty sink and pubic hair on the toilet from previous guest, toilet had black dirt and stains, bathroom floor dirty, bathroom mat filthy and unwashed, sheets had stains, flies in bathroom and bad smell, no soap. I had booked three nights and left after one. Lucky I had wipes to clean the toilet so I could use it, I did not even dare to use the shower area. Please don’t believe the pictures as it’s not clean as shown. It’s a shame because this would be a nice place if it was cleaned. Beware that the staff and family will come to the area near your room morning and I had someone come down in the evening at dark which was unexpected and not appreciated.
- Suhad (6/5): Pleasant - Nice family, all smiles. Outside the room there was a small kitchen, chairs and table to sit with a very nice green view. Location is ok, not too far from town and a few very good restaurants in the neighbourhood. The room smelled a bit like mold and the bathroom also smelled unpleasant like there was a plumbing issue. I'm sure if you're not sensitive for these things it's no problem and maybe the other rooms are alright. This was the bottom left room. Usually top rooms get more sun and therefor less mold. Really too bad, because else great place!
Wifi was too slow. Needed my mobile hotspot to work. Was there 4 nights. No cleaning of room. Not even the garbage was taken out. Maybe you have to ask for cleaning. i don't know, but definitely room for improvement there. Last night insects were crawling the bed and biting me.
- Austin (9/5): Great view and value ! - Wow such an amazing view, loved that I had my own little kitchen too. Even gave a big thing of water to drink! Everything was comfy and enjoyable. WiFi is alright, not too strong.
Kept having mini ants on me, I know it’s Bali but still 😔
- Herwindo (9/5): Superb -
- Surya (8/5): Very good - The location is peaceful, & the host provides all the facilities properly. room is clean, the kitchen tools are quite perfect! The parking is right on the side of the road, You can only hope that your motorbike isn't scratched or stolen.
- Nami (10/5): My favorite stay in Ubud! - I loved this place so much. The value for money is insane. It was the quietest place I stayed in terms of traffic, construction, roosters, people talking. Non of that, just beautiful nature sounds. Beautiful view right outside your window! Hosts are lovely and provide energy healing massage. My favorite stay during my 2 months in Bali. It’s not completely private as there’s a shrine the hosts put out offerings in the morning. Close your curtains if your changing cloths ladies. Some bugs in the room and a little smell from the bathroom, but I didn’t really mind.
- Andressa (10/5): Amazing! - My stay was absolutely wonderful! Having a kitchen was incredibly convenient, and I was captivated by the stunning views and the peaceful atmosphere of the place. The hosts were very attentive, and the owner runs a massage center on-site that is simply incredible—an experience worth every penny!
The street has several restaurants and small markets, making it easy to find anything you might need. Additionally, with a motorbike, you can reach the center of Ubud in just a short time. I highly recommend staying here! 🌿✨
- Atul (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely place to stay. Really peaceful and quiet. Small kitchen and fridge which was a nice addition. Good location just outside the busy part of ubud. The warung next door was 10/10 too! Nothing
- Boutayeur (7/5): Good -
- Patrick (10/5): Lovely chilled family guesthouse in Ubud - Lovely family that were so kind and helpful. The room was a decent size for a couple with a balcony looking out into nature. Hot water for showers, fridge, and water dispenser inside our room. Around 10 minute drive by scooter into central Ubud (depending on traffic). Great local restaurants and easy to drive to all the waterfalls and tourist attractions nearby. It wasn't the cleanest place ever with some flaws; however great for budget backpackers!
- Mina (7/5): Works for a couple nights. - Nice people. Love the views from the balcony. Wasn’t very clean.
- Anne (7/5): Simple with amazing view, quiet and peaceful - Amazing view to the jungle and some nice restaurants nearby. In the quieter part of town, which is nice. There are also rice fields close by. Grat value for money. The room has come of age and the walls could need a layer of paint. The ceiling was covered in dark spots all over. I had a big cockroach also crawling over the bed and a small one too, got rid of the big one effectively. The bathroom curtain is also covered in dark little spots and could be replaced. Bed had one pillow on each side, not two like on the picture, and only one decoration pillow, which has also come of age. Kitchen was a bit rusty, the tiny pot was completely dark.
- Elisa (10/5): Beautiful location and private appartement - The room is so beautiful, right in front of the jungle. Very peaceful and quiet. We had a little kitchen and a fridge so it was perfect to cook ourselves breakfast as it's not provided. The owner didn't warn us that every morning he will come to the room to offer the gift for prayer so we got surprised being naked in front of him.. bit embarrassing! They are not very helpful compares to some homestay I've been where they try to make you feel as comfortable as possible.
- Olga (9/5): Great place for a short stay // long stay as well - Worth every penny! Very clean
Water is provided
The balcony is nice
Man cards is a friendly and open-minded man
- Ayena (10/5): Worth a visit….lovely family home!! - A very lovely and friendly family, they welcomed me so warmly into their home. I loved my room it was clean and the bathroom was so nice . Location is convenient easily accessible I loved every single minute of my stay there .
- Herwindo (9/5): Superb -
- Herwindo (9/5): Superb -
- Ronald (9/5): Excellent - Great working space on the balcony and kitchenette with pans, plates, cutlery. tea and coffee supplied. Friendly hosts also offer massages and taxi service. Quiet. Great Warung next door open from 11-10pm and another open for breakfast from 7:30 about 100m further down the hill. Under 200k per night. A few Km out of central Ubud, so a 2km walk or use The taxi service for 100k.
- Steven (8/5): Very good - Quiet peaceful place with ac and a balcony over jungle. Super friendly owners this was a great place to explore ubud from.
- Herwindo (9/5): Superb - room and view
- Georgia (10/5): Exceptional - The family were lovely and very accommodating!
- Antonin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Denis (8/5): Very good -
- Tommy (9/5): You look for view? Trust me, come here - The view & ambience ! You won’t find in other place Only the semi-flush doesn’t work, everything else is perfect
- Janet (7/5): Good -
- Thuy (9/5): Superb - The owner is very friendly. The view is great. The room is clean.
- Sana (1/5): Bad - Uniquement la vue! Rien que ça !!! The room was very dirty and full of insects the sheet was full of insects kept biting me along the night and the sheets not clean it was old and has dirt colour on it the pillows were literally used for a century and inside was very dirty and had only 2 in the room and when I asked for more pillows they said you can have only 2 per room I had my baby with me and she moves in the night so ihad to put pillows at her sides not to fall off the bed but still couldn't for no more pillows! The bathroom has no aeration and smelling very bad and remains always wet never dries up! For the cleaning the room wasn't even clean and more than that they do cleaning only once every 3 days! But for my case I stayed one weak and the room was " cleaned "only once if I can even call that cleaning!!! They don't have staff for cleaning or anything else they don't have breakfast too and I reserved the room with Tv but when I came there they said no Tv which was important for me because my baby only calms down watching cartoons so that was not fair! It was literally the worst place I have ever been at since my vacation in Bali so I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody.
- Matías (8/5): Very good -
- Dóra (10/5): Exceptional - The view is super nice from the room. Very close to the nature that we were craving for. Bed was comfy and owners are very nice people. We had a lovely weekend here and would come back for sure. Everything was OK.
- Shelar (9/5): Superb -
- Mary (8/5): I enjoyed my stay at Manawarsa Guesthouse. I’d love to stay here again next time. - Being an older solo female I felt safe and happy staying with this lovely kind family. The room was lovely with a good and comfortable bed. There was a clothes rack for drying washing outside the room. It was a short walk to my work. There were wonderful cafes close by. Mr Manwarsa ( senior) is a professional artist with a wonderful display of his paintings in his art gallery at the guesthouse. He is also a taxi driver so available for airport delivery.
Good value for money. The bathroom was lovely but the tiles could have been scrubbed to prevent a build up of mould. The TV didn’t work.
- Olga (8/5): Very good - I liked the view of the bamboo jungle from the window. This is amazing! The room is quite cozy. There was no musty smell. I couldn’t use the air conditioner because it hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. But there was a fan and that saved everything. There were few dishes. I was alone and there was only one item for me (fork, spoon, plate). The kitchen sink was leaking and there was a puddle on the floor. There was no water in the cooler.
- Frances (10/5): Exceptional - Great service and communication with hosts, simple yet comfortable facilities, quiet location.
- Will (8/5): Very good - Great location, quiet at night. Nice patio space to hangout on. Tasty Warungs within walking distance. Family was very kind and I always felt welcome. Few small ants here and there. But I have experienced that at every accommodation in Bali.
- Jiuk (3/5): Poor -
- Joseph (8/5): Very good -
- Audry (9/5): Superb -
- Janarthanan (7/5): Good - Atmosphere is very good No ventilation in bathroom
- Cara (8/5): Very good -
- Ihar (9/5): Superb -
- Erin (10/5): Exceptional - Really wonderful stay 🌻🌻
- Anna (9/5): Cute stay in the jungle - Lovely location, extremely peaceful and would recommend to anyone wanting to immerse themselves in the nature of Ubud. There’s some nice shops and restaurants nearby and the host family were very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless with air conditioning and a kitchenette outside. Nothing!
- Shahid (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ellie (6/5): Pleasant - The family were very nice and friendly! Quiet location bit far from the town and felt too busy to ride bikes as beginners It was a bit of a shame that our room wasn’t cleaned once we stayed for 5 nights, our toilet bin was over flowing and our bin outside was full, we had to ask to change towels as they had been used so many times but the family were very nice
- Crystal (9/5): Beautiful peaceful location - The view from the room was by far my favourite in ubud so far. Really beautiful with the sound of the stream below also. It was a quiet location also and for the first time in a few weeks I didnt need to sleep with earplugs (unless you don't like the sound of roosters- which don't bother me at all) the family was friendly and welcoming. I would reccomend staying here. The pillows for me were quiet uncomfortable- I know this is just personal preference and im fairly picky due to a neck injury. Most places ive stayed in around ubud that have been in the same price range have had good pillows though so this is my only down side here. Would still reccomend to stay here.
- Lydia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ihar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Prajin (7/5): Good -
- Nadia (10/5): Exceptional - Couldnt have asked for a better place to start my Bali journey in this hidden little gem.
The familiy is so nice and warm and will help you with anything you ask for.
I wanted a quite and authentic place and that’s what I found here with the sound of the river and jungle just outside the wonderful balcony with the most beautiful view.
Thank you for a wonderful stay! All good
- Kristiyan (7/5): Fair price, but would not fully recommend - It had a nice green garden, a ready to use kitchen and a water dispenser. The AC worked very well and it kept the room cold the whole time. The room was clean and the shower had warm water; the price for the value given was fair. I appreciate the owner being so flexible and providing me with a small shift of booking dates free of charge. That being said, I don’t want to be rude, but this isn’t an accommodation that deserves 8.7. When I arrived I asked for a soup as there wasn’t any in the room and was told that I only pay for the room and bed and have to buy the soap on my own (even though they have acknowledged this here as something they will improve based on previous reviews)
The Wi-if connection in the room was terrible, and since there was no reception I could not use my data so it was almost impossible to be online in the room.
The bathroom was moldy, the shower was designed so that it was impossible to keep your hair dry when showering.
To access your room you have to always have to go through the family’s private area, which felt a bit weird every time. Regarding privacy, if you get a room on the ground floor expect someone to come to your entrance 2-3 times a day for the traditional offerings.
- Charlotte (9/5): Superb - The family is very welcoming and always smiling. The room is large and comfortable and incredibly quiet.
Sometimes hot water isn't there but it was not a big problem for us.
Wifi is also good, but not enough for zoom/work meetings.
They provide a scooty on request.
Location is perfect :)
- Hamid (7/5): Good - Very basic
