You're about 2km from the main attractions and restaurants BUT, it's beautifully quiet and peaceful. Right by the river. The owner was brilliant with communication using WhatsApp. So helpful. Nothing

kiymet bercis (6/5): - Location is a bit far from the places you can eat or have drinks however they provided 2 bicyles for us immediately before we asked for, so we easily wandered around. The town is already a tranquill and quiet, so is the room and the property. We stayed for one night at the room with river view, which was nice. The room is basic and comfy enough for 2-3 people. Owners are very nice and helpful people like all the Vietnamese people in general :) It was a pleasent stay. It is a homestay so hotel standards shouldn't be expected.

The location is a bit out of town,this is good if you want a peaceful experience, in the warm season the river would be very inviting. The weather was dreadful so we couldn't do very much....did the paradise cave though which was awesome

Grace (10/5): Wonderful, warm welcomes and extremely accommodating - Everything! The family were extremely kind to us and very friendly and warm. We had breakfast with the most fantastic view and they were super helpful with organising us with a motorbike and recommending us some local spots nearby. The location was away from most things but that was exactly what we wanted - peace and quiet ! Fantastic!!!!! Nothing!

Karina (10/5): Exceptional - This is one of the reasons why I extended my stay in Phong Nha, my host Yen and her family were nothing but wonderful. I purposely chose to stay in this area for peace and being close to nature. Views from my room are amazing, waking up to mountain landscapes and having quiet mornings by the riverside. Such genuine hospitality and I couldn't thank Yen enough, she made sure I was relaxed until my night bus ride to Hanoi. I will definitely come back with my partner and stay here again! :)
Samantha (9/5): Wonderful stay - We had a wonderful stay at Phong Nha River House. The room was spotless, comfy, and private with a lovely terrace overlooking the river and mountains. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful, assisting us to book transfers and tours and making a delicious breakfast each morning.
Rachel (3/5): Try to get a corner room so that you have a window if you stay here - The room didn't have any windows or any place to put anything. No tables. They were kind enough to put a couple of blankets on the bed to make it more comfortable. The woman who ran it seemed nice enough. She said her son was sick and then she sat down with us while we were eating. I didn't like the fact that there were no tables or no windows.

Charlie (10/5): Perfect - Nothing but positives for this stay. The owner is the most kind and helpful lady, she and her young family made our stay just perfect. She sat down and offered us free snacks when we got there and told us all about the local area and where best to spend our time. The room was perfectly clean and the view overlooking the river was amazing. She also offered bike rental with no down payment or passport hold which was instantaneous for 150k. Couldn’t recommend this stay enough. Nothing

Jenny (9/5): lovely owner - very peaceful and the owner was very welcoming. we arrived incredibly late and she helped organise a cab for us last min and stayed up to let us in. she also let us leave our bags after check out and use the shower when we returned later to pick up our bags! only one room on the corner is river facing but I don’t think it’s an issue because it’s unlikely you’d be sitting in the room to look out to for more than a few mins anyway (so if river room isn’t avail, don’t be put off booking one of the others) Nice bike ride (which was free to use) into town so enjoyed biking in (10mins) Bit basic but then for the price it’s fine. Also didn’t come here to sit in a room so was fine really.

Poilin (10/5): Friendliest and warmest host. Rooms were spotless. Great view of the river. Great place to stay if you want to experien - The lovely family running the Homestay could not have been nicer. They were friendly and helpful with tips of cave tours / places to eat / transport. There was a local soccer tournament on across the road which was an extra highlight. My family and I loved the location, it was slightly out of town and had a very authentic feel to it. However If you want to stay in town this is not the property for you.
Hoang (10/5): Exceptional - The hostel has a beautiful river view. Visitors can get to the town center by 15minute travel by bike, which is freely borrowed from the guest house. None

Hadjiysky (10/5): Authentic small town hospitality. You won't find this level of friendliness in big cities.. - This is one of the best places we have stayed in Vietnam. Such amazing hospitality from our hostess. She organised pick up from the airport and drop off at the train station. She had a motorbike delivered to the house in the morning, ready for us to go exploring. Breakfast was delicious and authentic, she made sure we had breakfast on our last morning even though we were leaving very early. I would definitely stay here again.

Pauline (6/5): Quite basic and didn’t feel very comfortable there - The location by the river was nice, although it’s definitely not as scenic as shown on the pictures (also, only one room offers such a view). Even though the staff was absolutely adorable, it really didn’t feel like a professional guesthouse. It’s basically one very big family living on site, going about their days as if no guests were staying there. We tried using the free bikes one day to go grab some food in town and ALL of them had flat tires (and no one was home to fix anything or offer an alternative). That got us completely stuck for a couple hours before we could get someone on the line to arrange a taxi for us. As for the room, it’s quite basic but clean.
Graeme (10/5): Lovely stay - The host was always friendly and helpful. Was always greeted with a smile. Her English was very good which makes communicating much easier. The hotel is 4km out of town but they supply free bicycles so is not a problem. Being right on the river was nice. As these are homestay places they tend to have chickens and roosters that can be very noisy during the night.
