• stephanie (6/5): A relaxing week - The location worked well for us. Easy to walk to the beach, mini golf and park run. We enjoyed visiting the Lido restaurant and ice cream factory. It was very helpful to have dedicated parking. The owners had good communication with us. Unfortunately there was a number of unresolved issues ahead our stay. We’ve been told these are in hand to be sorted.

Comfy beds in both bedrooms and bathroom facilities good although the lights in the ensuite were not bright enough The noise from the seagulls from 3am wasn't brilliant but that's what you get when you are near a beach

• Fesenberg (9/5): Ein unvergesslicher Aufenthalt - Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in Troon. Das Penthouse ist zentral gelegen, man ist zu Fuß in zwei Minuten am wunderschönen Strand. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind überall. Die Betten sind bequem und die Einrichtung ist geschmackvoll. Der Gastgeber Robert war immer erreichbar und sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Als meinen Kindern am letzten Tag etwas zu Bruch gegangen ist war er mehr als verständnisvoll. Danke für eine tolle Woche.

Lovely roof terrace but not used due to variable weather. Sea view. Car parking space allocated.10 minutes walk to train station, Glasgow train every 30 min. A great base for a couple or small family.

• Steven (1/5): Poor Host, Broken Fridge Freezee, Broken Dishwasher and no Smart TV - Location was ok in the centre of Troon however both bedrooms do look onto a the main Street so can be quite noisy, especially if staying at the weekend which we did. The dishwasher did not work, at first we highlighted this to the host via booking.com who ignored the message. We then discovered the fridge freezer was not working either. We were staying as a family with a 15 month baby so this was a huge inconvenience. We had a significant amount of prepared food for our baby and ourselves. This all went to waste. We understand these things happen (as hosts ourselves) however what was really shocking is the host Robert offered no resolution We asked for a reasonable sun of compensation to cover the food wastage however Robert refused to provide the compensation we asked for - or any compensation at all!! We detailed the food costs for Robert however he was unresponsive. No one was sent out to the property to fix the fridge freezer or dishwasher either. The apartment is a bit tired and dated, we would of overlooked this however with no fridge / freezer our trip turned into a bit of a nightmare. There is no smart TV and the Bose speaker in the pictures is not in the flat either (so no functionality to play music). We then contacted booking.com regarding the incident and they are investigating however the host has stated to booking.com that the fridge and dishwasher were both found to working - this is a lie (we have video and picture evidence) and future guests should be careful about booking this apartment.

• Nicky (10/5): Fantastic Apartment in Great location - Lovely big apartment which is perfectly located in the main street in Troon. It's a 2 minute walk to the promenade and beach, A 2 minute drive to Morrisons and a very short drive to the surrounding golf courses. The host was fantastic with their communication, advised us of information the evening before arrival and recommendations for food. We had a query when we arrived and she called us straight away. Would definitely stay here again. N/A
• Christine (10/5): perfectly situated apartment - Lovely apartment. Very conveniently placed. 2 minutes from the Lido and a chip shop. Walking distance to the supermarket and beach. We were there in November, so weather wasnt great but it was cosy and everything there to make it a comfortable stay. 5 minutes drive to the Marine Hotel and Piersland House. Will definitely return The stairs lol. But not a big issue.

• Tim (9/5): Superb - This is a very pleasant apartment situated near the beach. The apartment is nicely decorated, and has a balcony with seating area off the main bedroom. The living /dining/kitchen area is comfortable and well-equipped. There are some nice restaurants very nearby as well as a range of shops for groceries. A larger supermarket is a 5-minute walk away. There is parking private available. Well-situated for golf and country walks. The apartment is on the top floor so luggage etc must be carried upstairs.

Nothing like the pictures advertised on Booking.com. Terrace furniture unusable, mop buckets, weeds lying around. Old engrained bird poo on windows, mould in shower. Carpets in bedrooms dirty, marked and wrinkled.
