Das Trinkwasser auf den Zimmern wurde immer genügend aufgefüllt. Der Balkon war großzügig. Das Wassersportabgebot war schön. Das Essen war nur mittelmäßig, das Personal wenn auch freundlich, dennoch leider unaufmerksam. Die Ausstattung war schön, die Lage auch, aber die Abläufe haben immer wieder gehakt, allgemein wurde für mich und meine Familie in diesem Hotel der 5-Sterne-Standard nicht gehalten. Gerade für den Preis muss an vielen Stellen nachgearbeitet werden und das Personal muss geschult werden. - Haar im Essen - Ratte im Frühstücksbereich durchgehuscht - Fahrräder gerade für Kinder unsicher - Es geht nicht, dass beim Abendessen im Restaurant, Gäste nicht beachtet werden, aber die Tische bereits zum 7pm für das Frühstück vorbereitet werden. - Weingläser schmutzig - Keine Bedienung am Pool

• Leah (10/5): - Our stay at The Residence Bintan was truly unforgettable and without a doubt one of our favourite places we have ever stayed. We visited for our honeymoon with our two children, and from the moment we arrived, everything was absolutely perfect. We stayed in a beachfront ocean villa, which was exceptional in every way — beautifully designed, incredibly spacious, and just steps away from the beach with the most peaceful views. The service throughout the resort was completely unmatched. Every member of staff was so kind, attentive and welcoming, always going above and beyond to make our stay special. They made us feel so relaxed from start to finish. The food across all of the restaurants was amazing, with so much variety and every meal feeling high quality and fresh. We genuinely looked forward to every breakfast, lunch and dinner. One of our favourite parts of the resort was the Earth Basket. The beautiful gardens, animals and peaceful surroundings made it such a lovely experience for our children, and it added such a unique touch to the hotel. The whole resort felt beautifully maintained and surrounded by nature. We also loved the complimentary bikes, which were a fantastic way to explore the resort as a family and made the stay even more fun and relaxing. The spa was also absolutely lovely and such a relaxing experience. We really appreciated that they even had treatments and thoughtful touches for children as well, which made it feel very family friendly while still being luxurious. Another highlight was the mangrove tour organised through the hotel, which was absolutely incredible. Seeing crocodiles, snakes and fireflies so close to nature was such a memorable experience and something we will never forget. The complimentary ferry terminal transfers were also excellent and made travelling to and from the resort completely stress free and seamless. Everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations. A big thank you to the concierge team and all the staff for their tremendous effort and warm hospitality. From the moment we arrived, my husband and I felt genuinely pampered throughout the entire stay. The service was attentive, thoughtful, and always delivered with kindness. The resort itself is beautiful, მშვიდ and incredibly relaxing — exactly what we needed for a short getaway. Everything felt very well coordinated, even the weather seemed to go perfectly with our plans! When it was time for outdoor activities, the sun came out, and when it was time to rest, the rain added a cozy touch. Special mention to the buggy team as well — they were super efficient, always punctual, and made sure we stayed comfortable and dry despite the changing weather. We were also pleasantly surprised by the little desserts sent to our room every night — such a sweet and thoughtful gesture that made our stay even more special. Overall, the team made everything seamless for us, allowing us to truly relax and enjoy every moment without worry. We were absolutely delighted with the experience at rica rica , but it’s quite sad that they open only ard 6. We wanted to have a last meal before we check out at rica rica because their chicken curry was so so so good , but they only open ard 6pm. Would love to see more western menu as well like fish and chips , side dishes like onion rings and all . It would be great ! Oh do remember to try out their chendol egg pudding and coconut Pandan ice cream with chocolate wafer , it’s absolutely a bomb 🤍 very nice 👌🏼

Game room is great. Fireflies tour we took was exceptional. Spa staff is super nice, and treatments very good. There were good vegetarian options, but the menu could be wider. In two days, we had eaten almost everything available on vegetarian menu.

Rooms are comfortable and love it that they provide bicycles for us to travel around. Location is a little further so cater time for travel especially if you need to head out. But, do give this hotel a go. The staff are amazing and the stay is great.

Complimentary activities included- Morning yoga Water sports - kayaking, paddle boarding, Banana boat (during high tide only) Marine walk Firefly tour Games room with interesting multicultural games. Lovely spa - including a kids package which my daughter loved. Pretty well manicured gardens. Spacious lodging- we had a garden suite. Lounge and bedroom and bathroom, plus an outside area. Breakfast was excellent- and included in the price. Portions for lunch / dinner were huge (for me). plenty of choice and delicious food. A wonderful place to relax for a few days. Nothing. All wonderful. Just manage your expectations about prices. Pretty much Singapore prices.

Everything from the ferry terminal pick up shuttle, the room was amazing, the staff in the reception, in the spa, in the pool bar, housekeeping, guest services, everyone was so helpful, friendly, kind and professional. Honestly the best resort I’ve ever stayed at.
• 569lx (2/5): Bintan's inferior beach - Would not recommend, and here’s why the high ratings are misleading. The Residence Bintan charges a premium, ostensibly for exclusivity and location. But location is precisely where it fails. The beach is genuinely bad… worse than Sentosa, which is a low bar for anyone paying resort prices in the Indonesian archipelago. But this isn’t a Bintan problem. We almost wrote off the entire island because of this resort. On our last day we went to Lagoi Beach and it was stunning?! White sand, clear water, everything you’d expect. The resort just chose a mediocre stretch of coastline. You’re not paying for a premium location. You’re subsidising the cost of building in a bad one. The other issues compound this: no air conditioning in the lobby or main dining areas. In equatorial heat, I don’t think this is a charm but a design failure. Not to mention, you’re completely cut off from food delivery no Grab or Gojek. For a resort at this price point, that’s not boutique isolation, that’s just inconvenience with a markup. The images I’ve attached show Lagoi vs. the resort beach. Draw your own conclusions. Come to Bintan. Skip this resort.
• donbosko (10/5): An absolute jewel on Bintan - bringing together luxury, first class hospitality and ecological responsibilty! - Having traveled for 3 decades intensively and having seen truly a lot of great resorts and iconic places around this beautiful world - The Residence Bintan has to be one of the most beautiful and emotionally worthy, mindful places we had the pleasure to visit. Aside the really gorgeous facilties it - again! - is all about the people making the difference and with the culture embedded by Cenizaro group in The Residence Binan they do not fall short from true excellence. The hospitality is top-notch yet truly honest and interactive - the attentive, friendly and (very important!) honestly funny staff are the true jewels of this great resort and make you feel home away from home instantly. Even when all of the guys are really into it and helping in experiencing a great time - there are always some super-stars to shine, and the need to be named: - Ganjar & Abdul, who became friends during our stay - Giri & the whole Pool-Bar team, who were absoulte hospitality stars - Jay & Maria from HR and operations, executing Canizaro´s Pack for Hope program locally - Mustika, Aida, Feronica, Alfred & Jarwo from the front desk - Rajeev, being the MD and the eptiome of the culture living and breathing at The Residence Bintan The pictures don´t even do justice and the state of rooms/beach-front bungalows/restaurants/spa and other facilities is just fantastic. Offerings on excursions, rentals of cars/buses to visit the rest of the island and get a immersive feeling on how Bintan rolls, are tremendous and the great staff is always there to support and enabling a first-hand experience. A special spotlight needs to got to Cenizaro´s program of "Pack for hope" where guests are invited to bring some little things helping underpriviledged members of the society, mostly school-kids, in their development. This experience, where we personally got to know the children from a fishermen´s village nearby where The Residence Bintan makes a huge difference and impact was one of the most beautiful experiences we´ve ever had and a true pleasure to be a small part of! Make sure you inform yourself before arriving - Cenizaro´s homepages give a great starting point - and do not miss out on this opportunity to support local communities and experience pure joy in interacting with the next generation of Bintan and Indonesia! So, you will have to rely on the resort for everything .. making it a little bit more expensive than necessary.

• Sabrina (9/5): Excellet getaway - Loved the resort so much. An excellent getaway for a long weekend. Best part was the private pool which we could use at any time (we got the Beachfront Villa). Able to walk to the beach just from our villa. Room was huge yet really cosy. Very clean. Really well-equipped with everything we needed, e.g. hair dryer, ironing board, kettle, also sufficient distilled water provided in glass bottles. Awesome huge bathroom with 2 sinks, bathtub and shower separate, also a clothes drying line. Sufficient food choices even though there's only a couple of restaurants, and pretty good variety of the breakfast buffet. Really enjoyed the special Easter Buffet dinner at the Main Lawn, which was set up outdoors and was just beautifully decorated (hot though). Excellent service overall. All staff are friendly and approachable. There is a convenient Whatsapp number to contact the concierge where our requests were replied promptly and clearly. Very kid friendly place with Kakatu kids club with daily activities, an outdoor playground, and a small farm where you can feed fish, chickens, rabbits. The staff there (Kiki?) is wonderful, super friendly. There is a games room with foosball, table tennis too. Convenient to have 2 bicyles assigned to each room - 1 with a basket and passenger seat behind (kids can sit if they're old enough), 1 just a bike on its own. Brakes didn't work super well though - can be better maintained. While we appreciated the complimentary scheduled shared transfer service from the ferry terminal to the resort, it was frustrating because the staff holding the "The Residence Bintan" sign told us that we had to wait for more groups (within that timing?) to arrive first before the bus could depart. However it didn't seem that the staff even tried to contact the groups to see whether they were coming or not. What if the groups didn't come at all, wouldn't it be wasting everyone's time? We waited at least 1 hour before our bus departed the ferry terminal. Suggest that staff have a way to contact the guests to check on their arrival status, and communicate the waiting time to guests clearly, and have the bus depart within a fixed timeframe.

• Ludvik (10/5): Fantastic stay at The Residence with staff as the highlight - Spacious rooms with all required amenities, including for infants, and generally very good cleanliness. Resort was baby/kid friendly, we travelled with our 1-year old and the staff was extremely attentive and friendly towards the baby. And indeed, the highlight was quality of the staff going out of their way to assist with every need and overall fun and engaging. Food was great, especially at Rica Rica with fantastic Indonesian cousine. We spent a week at the resort and could easily have stayed longer. Thank you! Not really anything in particular, we were very satisfied!

• chongggggg (2/5): Bring a Gas Mask. - We chose The Residence Bintan for a birthday celebration. The kind of trip where you're willing to pay a premium precisely because you want things to go right. But the beach, the entire reason to book a beachfront villa smelled. Not faintly. And not just on one bad morning. Continuously, throughout our stay, to the point where spending time on the terrace or shoreline was genuinely unbearable. This is a known seasonal condition during the dry months (March–May). The hotel knew. They just don't tell you before you book. We found out the way guests shouldn't have to: walking toward our villa, luggage in hand, on a birthday trip, when the smell hit us without warning. We had to request the room change ourselves and were moved inland. The staff handled this with kindness and we want to be clear: the people on the ground were doing their jobs well. What followed, however, was a clinic in institutional indifference dressed up as hospitality. Management's position essentially is: this is nature's fault, not ours, so here are some sandwiches. High tea was the offered compensation for a beachfront downgrade on a birthday trip. We don't say this to be cruel. We say it because it reveals exactly how the property calibrates what your experience is worth to them once you've already paid. There was no refund. Not even a penny of dining credit. When the difference between the daily room rate was over US$100. Nor any acknowledgment that promising a beachfront villa when the beachfront is seasonally compromised might constitute a mismatch between product and promise. A few other things future guests should know: - The lobby and main dining areas are not air-conditioned. The fans are weak enough to feel aspirational. The only air-conditioned dining environment unlocks at dinner, which is, of course, when the heat has already relented. Someone made this decision and presumably kept their job. - The resort's remoteness means Grab, GoFood, and outside dining are inaccessible, unlike resorts near Lagoi, which have actual options. We are not difficult guests. We don't write reviews like this lightly. But a 5-star property earns that designation not simply in the lobby aesthetic or the thread count, it earns it in how it treats guests when things go wrong. By that measure, The Residence Bintan is not a 5-star resort. It is a beautifully photographed place that has not yet reckoned with what luxury actually requires of it. If you're considering a beachfront villa here between March and May: don't.

• Naga_eye (8/5): Quiet and tranquil resort - Stayed in a two-bedroom villa and overall had a very enjoyable experience. The villa was spacious and well-kept, and the staff were consistently warm, friendly, and helpful — even surprising us with a thoughtful birthday cake, which was a lovely touch. That said, communication via WhatsApp can be a bit inconsistent, with some requests needing to be repeated or not attended to promptly. Given the price point, the transfer experience could also be improved, as the journey from the ferry terminal is long (almost 1.5 hours) and the roads are quite bumpy, so a more comfortable vehicle would make a difference. The resort’s secluded location is great for relaxation, but it also means dining options are limited to the property, and the food can feel repetitive after a couple of days.

The staff were very friendly, professional and on the ball always specially these folks Hiro, Zico, Gerry and Eric - the atv team and all staff actually. . Nothing to complain about the customer service. From private pool, to main pool, beach, game room, farm visit, animal feeding, atv rides, buggy rides, human size chess, pool bar entertainment, bike rides, late night stroll, etc.. there’s so much to do for adults and kids. Not really. Just the options for food and the price specially when you stay longer than 4 days.

For dinner we enjoyed the bbq on the beach and Rica Rica restaurant. We enjoyed both. Pool bar has a good choice as well. The beach was very small and no beds on the beach. But this was minor since we now the sea is always a challenge.

There is a room to improve Beachside bbq buffet. If you charge that price to customers, food quality and presentation need to be improved. Usually the buffet has at least several non alcoholic drinks as option but this place has only water. No coffee tea after meal.

Hotel sehr abgelegen, kommt es nach einer riesigen Baustelle. Man kann sich nicht selbst die Gegend anschauen. Man ist komplett auf das Hotel angewiesen, kein Supermarkt oder Ähnliches in der Nähe.

• Friederike (9/5): Toller Ort, um als Familie Zeit zu verbringen! - Schöne Anlage, sehr freundliches Personal. Für 6 Tage genau richtig. Wie waren in der Seafront Deluxe Villa, die für uns viert gut passte, unsere 9 jährige Tochter hat bei uns im Bett geschlafen, unsere Grosse im Daybed im Wohnzimmer. Starke Ebbe und Flut, was wir aber ganz schön fanden, da man bei Ebbe sehr weit laufen kann. Es war nicht sehr voll und alles hat sich innere Anlage gut verlaufen. Am Wochenende wurde es ein bisschen voller, Ein sehr schönes Spa und kleines modernes Gym. Gutes indonesisches Restaurant (Rica Rica) und insgesamt mit Poolbar genug Möglichkeiten zu essen. Preise sind ok, im Vergleich zu Singapur. Kann man super mal 1 Woche machen, man fühlt sich bestens aufgehoben, alles sehr schön und professionell.

• Elena Battistuzzi (9/5): Change of Singaporean setting and still very good service; go to The Residence! - The service level at this place is just wonderfull. You ask and they do! Example, we wanted to have a bucket of ice in our villa, just minutes later it arrived already. We looked at the stars one night with the stargazer, talked with the very interested staff who organized this little cute event and they even sent us pictures the day after. Although the resort is big (but not worry every villa has bicecycles) it really is small very engaged community. Yoga sessions in teh morning, after that a nice swimm in the ocean and in the afternoon you can enjoy the big pool or the small if you booked a villa with pool as the ocean will be in low tide. Food is also okay, I guess best thing to do is ordering typical Indonesian cuisine. There are three places where you can order food, lot's of choices. Worth to mention that the wifi in the villa was really good! Actually nothing we disliked. Even the ride with the minibus was nice although it took an hour and some minutes! You get to see real life instead of a more sophisticated version of Indonesia in the Lagooi area.
• Global14276519865 (10/5): One of the best resorts in Bintan for a special celebrations! - We recently celebrated my wife’s 50th birthday at The Residence Bintan, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable celebrations our family and friends have experienced. The resort is truly one of the best places to stay in Bintan—beautifully designed, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. A special thank you to Phoebe, who supported us throughout the planning of the celebration. She coordinated everything wonderfully and ensured the event ran smoothly. Her attention to detail made the birthday celebration truly special. When our flower vendor cancelled at the last minute, Jarwo, Yono and Dede stepped in immediately to source flowers and help with the decorations. Their effort and willingness to go the extra mile meant a lot to us. Jarwo and Octa also ensured smooth check-in and check-out for our guests, while Wanda made the ferry transfers between the terminal and the resort seamless. The private beach dinner arranged by the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, Siti and the F&B team was exceptional — a magical setting with delicious food and fantastic desserts. Many of our guests said they would love to return and wished they had stayed longer. Thank you to the entire Residence Bintan team for making this milestone celebration so special.
