• Miriam (9/5): Wonderful stay in a lovely residence. - The location was fabulous. Very close to the train station and the view over the lake was spectacular. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I left my suitcase with them (since I arrived prior to check in) and they carried it to my room so it was waiting for me. There was a bit of noise coming from the trains arriving at and leaving the train station.

Aircon was very confusing to use. Would be nice if there were some additional things like milk for coffees, teabags, kettle, umbrella etc to make it an exceptional stay with everything you need.

• Mary (5/5): We would not stay here again, even considering the good location. - The location is excellent (easy walk to train and ferry), with a view of the lake, there is a small kitchenette, and they provided a bottle of water and a few coffee pods (no other staples). Parking is available for an extra fee. Bed, linens and furniture are like a budget property, disappointing given the cost. Apartment was cold and we would have appreciated a blanket. Be aware that the POOL IS NOT HEATED. I was expecting it to be usable during the dates provided, and it is usable only in much warmer weather.

• Sandra (8/5): Spectacular Lake Como - The view was absolutely stunning 😍 The ferry's over to the other islands were great, and the train ride into Verenna were amazing. I would agree with other reviews I've read...the location was brilliant with fantastic views of the lake and mountains. Unfortunately the building work going on at Verenna Station which I understand needs to be done..just took the edge of it's peace and beauty. No fault of anyone's. Would be lovely to visit again with the building work complete.

• Karen (9/5): Fantastisch - Excellente ligging, super zicht op het meer, terrasje en zwembad, op wandelafstand van het oude stadscentrum en de beroemde villa’s van Varenna. Bovendien mogelijkheid tot parkeren . Zeer goede host Antonela ! De accomodatie ligt tegenover het lokale station waar werken plaats hadden. Maar Antonela had ons hiervan vooraf verwittigd.
• Larisa (6/5): We chose this property to have a quet stay, pool, great views, proximity to rail road, but none of these things met our - The property itself was decent, two levels clean apartment with a great view on the Lake Como. Despite beautiful view from the apartment there was the following downsides: 1. Air conditioners wasn’t working during our two days stay. We tried to communicated with a host, she arrived and tried to adjust it, but it turned off right away after she left and wasn’t working till the end of our stay. We couldn’t open a windows at night either because noice from the street made it impossible to sleep. 2. The pool was so cold ( not heated) unbearable to swim in the beginning of September. Also it wasn’t clean. 3. There was a construction of railroad during the day, which made lots of noise, so we didn’t have a calm and quiet stay as we hope. 4. We asked the host to provide us a quote for the taxi from Lake Como to Milan airport and help us to book the taxi since we had language barrier. She provided us a quote last minute and told us to call/ text the taxi companies through What’s up. I called 8 companies she provided and non had availability, so we end up overpaying big money for the transfer by doing it through the booking.com. Host wasn’t helpful to help us with a transfer, which was disappointing. 5. The road to the property is up hill, and there is no walking path, it’s very unsafe, specially at night when cars are riding when you walk up hill on the road and visibility is not great. Overall experience wasn’t satisfactory due to things listed.

There were no basic things like salt and pepper. 1 coffee pod and a few tea bags were left. The pool had very little sun and had lots of leaves in it. There was a building site opposite. They were working all the time so it wasn’t very peaceful. The pool pump was making a lot of noise which we could hear in the apartment.

• Grevit (6/5): Great location & views, shame about the cleanliness & noise - The view was spectacular; great to have a pool which was a nice sun trap for the afternoon. Good location to get into Varenna Unfortunately, the floor in the whole apartment had not been cleaned at all when we arrived. To be honest, it was pretty disgusting; there was hair, crisps, dust, dental floss in the living room, kitchen, bathroom. We have photos & videos on arrival, which we shared with the host. We do believe this was an oversight as everything else was very clean. The host did offer to clean the next day but as we we arrived late and only there for 3 days we cleaned the floor ourselves. The host offered a bottle of prosecco as compensation which we accepted. We came back from our trip the next day to find a mini 200ml prosecco bottle with a handful of sweets..... Furthermore, we were alerted 24 hours before we arrived that there were renovation works at the train station which is opposite the apartment and there could be some noise. In all honesty these were big redevelopment works and have been going on for some time so would have been good to know this before we booked. The noise was pretty deafening and we could not use the balcony as a result nor open the windows or doors

• Jay (9/5): Excellent people and great stay. - Excellent property with excellent location. People were super nice and on top of things. It was a HOT week and AC was not all that effective. Also, the train station is right across the street and it was shut down and 24 x 7 construction was ongoing. We were advised of the construction situation by host couple of days prior to arrival. However, there’s nothing they could do about it so don’t blame them. It’s just timing. I am sure our next visit will be even more enjoyable.

• Hedges (4/5): Honeymoon was ruined by having no AirCon for our whole stay and no running water the morning we left - The view from the room was lovely, but that was about it. First of all I would like to say I have given the property enough time to resolve the solution! Me and my new husband arrived for our honeymoon and we were really looking forward to relaxing after the wedding celebrations. As soon as we arrived at the apartment it was boiling. The AirCon did not work from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, and it was 31 degrees in Varenna when we stayed and the room wasn't much cooler. It was 25 degrees in the evening and morning! I explained to Antonela about the AirCon and she tried to get it fixed, but it wasn't until 2 days later that it managed to work for one afternoon. Me and my husband struggled to sleep at night as it was so hot, so we came back to lounge by the pool and slept as we were exhausted from no sleep. The one afternoon the AirCon was working we also came back to sleep (not what you want to be doing on your honeymoon, you want to be exploring the beautiful lake)! To make matters worse after a boiling hot last night as the AirCon had broken AGAIN, there was no running water on our last morning, so we couldn't even shower before we left. I have tried to contact Oscar and Antonela multiple times asking for some sort of refund as the accommodation and the facilities were not up to standard. Oscar mentioned about a 15% discount but I haven't received this discount or heard anything since. They did not offer us any other room or option, no fan and have gone completely silent about the discount/refund! There are plenty of other accommodations around Varenna and I would suggest to go there and not this venue!! There were also train works going on at the station which is right outside the accommodation and I know nothing can be done about this but it was very noisy and made it even more difficult to relax on top of the ongoing AirCon problems. EDIT: We have now heard back from Oscar about the refund due to the inconveniences.

• Elizabeth (8/5): Very good - Great location. Great hosts - super helpful. Very clean. Loved being able to have a swim in the pool at the end of the day. Would have loved to find a couple of bottles of water in the fridge when we arrived, especially after walking up the hill with our bags. This is not a criticism - just a suggestion.
• Tula (8/5): Great apartment, needs new pillows though - Great spacious apartment. Nice pool but could have been cleaner but was great to sit around and play in. Varenna was a nice are, very quiet but lots of restaurants. Not much food choice in the local shops which was difficult so we didn’t get to use the kitchen area. The apartment had plenty of bed space, however, we weren’t supplied with enough bedding. We asked for sheets for the bed and extra pillows but they did not have any sheets or duvets for the spare bed, and the few pillows we had between us were the thinnest, cardboard-like pillows you can imagine. This place would be a 10/10 if the owners supplied more comfortable beds and pillows. Great place though.

Bed was comfortable. It was a bit of a walk to the town on a curvy, hilly road and steps. A little uncomfortable in the dark.

The view of the lake and mountains from the large windows and the terrace are fantastic. Connecting with the host over the phone was very easy. He was very helpful with instructions about getting to the apartment and also other information. We were met at the apartment and handed over the keys. Practically nothing.

• Ruigrok (8/5): Very good - Really nice apartment in perfect location. Easy walk down hill to the center of town and near train station. The onsite garden maintenance crew were a bit annoying with their noisy equipment.
• Mikejohn2 (8/5): Studio apartment in Varenna with stunning lake views. - Great studio apartment close to Varenna Station. Offered great view of the lake and that's the premium you pay for Lake Como. Otherwise it was nice, kitchen was complete. Antonella came to greet us and let us into the apartment which was nice and was very helpful. The swimming pool wasn't open, apparently it's not open in the month April. This wasn't communicated with us prior and it was very disappointing.

• Phesephony (2/5): Subpar and unsafe - Convenient location Only two of the electrical outlets work with an adapter one of these the one by the kitchen is half detached from the wall. The other one, the one by the door nearly electrocuted me when I plugged in a phone charger none of the other outlets were in use at the time. These are hazards and quite frankly I was extremely concerned about a fire risk while we slept and charged our mobiles overnight. In addition, the layout of the bathroom with the toilet directly next to the wall is completely impractical. And the tv does not work - as in no channels/reception.

Great set up for 2 couples to share. We liked the ability to use the pool when it was hot outside and the flexibility to fix a meal at the condo.

We would stay here again! - The location was great -- just a short walk from the train station and ferry port. It was very clean and had enough space for three adults comfortably. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Instructions for getting the key and access were very easy and convenient, and we really appreciated being able to leave our luggage in the garage prior to check-in time so that we could use our time well sightseeing. I would stay here again!

• Pamela (10/5): Extremely nice stay! - Beautiful, newer property in outstanding location with beautiful lake views. Just minutes from restaurants and the ferry. Well equipped kitchenette. Comfortable pull-out bed was all set up for our arrival. Not a lot of extra space but worked perfectly for me and my two daughters. Two easy keypads provide access to building, then key box once inside. Would have loved a second comfy chair on the balcony.
• Medon (4/5): Overall, if you just want a nice location and don't care about comfort its still overpriced. - The location is great, very short distance from everything, the train is close by the ferry is within walking distance. Varenna is a great place to stay. There is a lovely view from the terrace. The room was not very clean we had insects all over the curtains and floor without opening any the doors to the terrace. The pillows were paper thin and super uncomfortable. The host charges you for parking on the property you're already paying for and then a van parks in front of the entrance to the property so its impossible to get out.

Not many things to support you if you want to cook etc For that reason we won’t stay there when we return next year.

Great to have access to the property on arrival (storage in garage) and on departure (continued access to the apartment). We were disappointed that under the bed was not clean (found old socks). It would have been nice to arrive to a bottle of water and/or milk/coffee/tea.

• Timothy (4/5): Location was nice, good view and swimming pool, but way to expensive for what you get. - The beds were comfortable, the swimming pool is very nice. Unfortunately it was next to a train station where they were building there all through the night. SO we could hardly sleep or sit quietly at the pool. The noise, and there was mold everywhere in the bathroom and in the AC. It smelled very horible when we came inside every time.
• Shelley (9/5): Superb - Beautiful clean property with amazing views. Just outside of Varenna so you’re away from the hustle and bustle but a nice walk into the centre.
• Julie (8/5): Great stay because of beautiful views & easy access to train station & ferries. - Stunning view of the lake! Bathroom is really small. No stand to place soap, shampoo etc.

• Emma (10/5): Absolutely lovely break away - Location excellent. Clean and tidy. Pool (even though we didn’t use it as busy exploring area.) Secure. Lake views. Link to train station. Near to ferry. Great spot. Would definitely return. Nothing.
• Carlos (9/5): Lovely Varenna apartment with lake view, pool and patio. - Good location up the hill from the ferry stop. Great view of the lake. Wonderful splash pool to enjoy in the summer. Just across the train station and a few feet from a great restaurant - La Veranda dei Pescatori. And 15 minute walk from town center. No washer and dryer. And main bed could have thicker, comfier mattress.
• Alice (10/5): An incredible property - The property was incredible! And the views left us speechless!! Such a short walk to the train station and the town. Oscar was so helpful and communicated so well throughout our stay, would highly recommend staying here
