- Steve (7/5): Great value for money - Comfortable room with bar fridge and free parking right in front Check-in at drive-thru bottle shop was not obvious until we asked someone
- Veronica (7/5): Room was good for my needs at the time. - It was quiet, bed was comfortable enough and shower was good. Small tea cups, would prefer a mug.
- Victoria (5/5): It met our needs - We were wanting budget accommodation - really just somewhere to sleep and shower. The accommodation was very basic and to be fair covered our needs. We weren't expecting anything flash. We had dinner at the Hotel - really lovely place. We thought Saturday night may have been a bit rowdy but we were not disturbed at all in the accommodation. The exhaust fan stays on in the bathroom which is a bit noisy during the night we could not locate a switch to turn it off. The bathroom could have had a bit more of a clean.

- Melissa (2/5): Lesson learned, you get what you pay for. Spend a bit extra & stay somewhere cleaner & quieter. - Was cheap, had beds, air conditioning, TV and mini bar. The room smelt like a dog had been kept in there. It was awful. The bathroom was also terrible & so dated. During the night large black ants came in via the bathroom window. The window winder was broken, so we couldn't close it. The whole room needs a a deep clean including the bathroom, better still they should rip out the carpet & redo the bathroom at a minimum. The bathroom was gross. The sink waste looked filthy and the shower was not much better, the soap tray was covered in soap scum. I couldn't use it and decided to go elsewhere. The screen door didn't shut & lock properly, so you couldn't leave it open for fresh air. It was a noisy place to stay. I am not sure if it was coming from air conditioning or exhausts from the kitchen running full pelt. We stayed in Room 3 towards the back, closest to the kitchen perhaps. Early in the mornings large trucks delivering supplies for the kitchen would park right outside the accommodation area, so I assume the rooms closest to the car park would have been disturbed by the idling. The pub turns its music system on very early in the mornings, so there is music blaring through the speakers in the pubs eaves, right next to the accommodation. It definitely feels like the accommodation is viewed as just a revenue source without much thought to the experience of those using the accommodation. It is not a properly managed investment with customer enjoyment / satisfaction at the forefront of their minds.

- Donna (9/5): Bloody good - Rooms are clean and the carpet does not have deodorised smell which I can’t handle in most other motels/ hotels.
Bed is very comfortable, enough space to put clothes and luggage away. Staff are very friendly and the food at the pub is excellent.
I have stayed twice now and will be back again, very handy to everything. The rooms are a bit old but for the price I really don’t care.
- Paton (8/5): -
- Sheaye (7/5): -
- Ronan (7/5): -
- Helen (8/5): Short - Accessibility Glasses were dirty
- debbie (10/5): - Cheap and cosy Couldn’t stay longer lol
- Catherine (8/5): -
- Susan (4/5): Suited our purposes but the units need upgrading badly. - Location Poor facilities. Leaking tap in bathroom
- Zaslawski (7/5): Decent - Private location away from hotel patrons. Close parking. Reasonable size of room. Had coffee and tea making facilities. Small outside area on ground floor. Ni microwave or eating utensils
- Brett (8/5): -
- Rob (9/5): -
- Sharon (9/5): -
- David (8/5): - The location Can be tricky finding a parking spot
- Nikolaos (7/5): - Good basic accommodation, clean and well priced. Having the pub next door was great The room had a cigarette smell after returning from a day out.
Would have been nice to have a couple of teaspoons supplied for the coffee/tea facilities.
- Margaret (8/5): Great stay - Convenient Bathroom not cleaned
- Tracy (9/5): Had the best sleep so comfy Great location to our event. Staff so friendly def recommend the stay here - Was clean and sooo comfortable great for the one night we stayed there Shower was not the best water was cold then hot then cold
- Gary (5/5): -
- Rob (9/5): -
- Kathryn (6/5): Fair - The rooms were good and a good location for our need. Room 3 had a very strong cigarette smell, even opening the doors to allow air to flow through the room didn’t help and the smell was extremely unpleasant when the doors were closed
- Tara (9/5): -
- Neil (3/5): - Close to destination Milk out of date, furniture in bad state
Bathroom extremely dated
Tiles in shower cracked
Hand basin plug mouldy
People screaming until at least 2am
No contact details posted in room for emergencies
Bedside lamp not working
No security chain on door
- Allison (7/5): - We have stayed at this location many time, it is basic accommodation but always clean and very well priced. You are only supplied with a kettle and tea and coffee making supplies, a toaster would have been helpful for breakfast.
- Shannon (7/5): -
- Wayne (8/5): -
- Matt (8/5): Great value for money - Great value for money. Well located and fabulous management Nothing I could suggest
- Melissa (8/5): -
- Carmel (8/5): - Room clean comfy and at pub we at party so all good Nothing bad all good
- HELEN (4/5): - Comfortable beds Mould in bathroom shower etc
A previous guest smoked in the rooms and had left a cup behind the bathroom curtains with cigarette butts in it. The rooms had been sprayed with air freshener to cover the smoke smell but that resulted in an unpleasant smell that irritated our nasal passages.
The bathroom window curtains had dirty stains.
- Joanna (7/5): -
- kallie (10/5): -
- Simon (9/5): -
- Louise (10/5): Perfect - Wonderful
- Helen (6/5): - Good value for the price.
Car park was will lit at night.
Hotel meals well priced and tasted great. Did not service every day.
Being woken up at 3:30am by bread deliver .
- David (9/5): - The location and facilities Too much bourbon
- Tara (8/5): -
- Jacqueline (8/5): Great value for money in an easy to find location - Location was excellent and the hotel itself is thriving with a wide range of food and drinks. The room was perfect for an overnight stay and excellent value for money.
- Michelle (8/5): - Hotel accommodation was good it's my second time staying here As an interstate traveller it would be good if you supplied cutlery plates toasters and a microwave as I need to head up a heat bag for my medical condition
- Charmaine (8/5): Good spot! - Very convenient, hotel next door great food.
- Michael (8/5): - Clean & tidy at a good price.
Car park noise a bit loud.
- Warren (8/5): Great value . - Good value at $99 per night . Rooms are older than rest of the pub .Very friendly and professional staff . Pub facilities are great . Room clean , bath room could do with a Reno. Fitted sheets would be nice . More road side signage coming from the South .
- Chris (8/5): - Quick and easy Check-in, good value stay in motel type accommodation with private facilities, large TV, fridge and kettle. Clean and close to the restaurant for dinner.
- Jane (8/5): You pay for what you get. - Checkin is through the Bottle shop. Easy as payment already taken. Leave the keys in room on departure. Rooms have been painted. New carpet. A double and single bed in each room.
An outside area is available to sit out in. Its basic accommodation attached to a great pub. Newly renovated. The locals really enjoy the facilities. Can be a bit noisy with people coming back to the units. There are 6 all together. Some in-depth cleaning wouldn’t go astray. Some cockroach poo in the drawers And maybe a bed protector and tray to hold the tea and coffee supplies.
- Catherine (8/5): - Was very please with the room
- Beryl (8/5): - The “pub” was excellent and staff lvly ..gd food and outdoor area btiful ….lvly atmosohere …room was basic but clean ..gd value fur the money I paid …
- Dianne (10/5): -
- Neil (9/5): Ok - Hotel No crokery no microwave no toaster just a electric kettle otherwise ok no reserve parking for units
- Samantha (8/5): Great for short stay, comfy & clean. Great club !!!! - Good clean room , close to beach and shops Location of PowerPoints
- Carly (6/5): - The price for each night was so good, as it has good location, a very good club belong to the hotel, a TV, a fridge and a bathroom inside.
The downside is the cleanliness and comfort. I wouldn't give it more than 4 over 10. The management could have invested a little extra to make it at least presentable, and then they can charge higher rate.
If you are only after a budget stay with good location, go for it.
- jean pascal (9/5): - Stay there a few times already nice place great restaurant This time nobody clean the bin or top up coffee for the all 3 days
- Jessica (3/5): - The check in process was easy and the room had a bed to sleep in. Room was very outdated. I was part of a wedding and arrived late at the motel needing a hot shower after a big day in the wet weather. The bathroom had hair on the sink, shower still had a used soap bar in it and no hot water. I wasnt able to shower. I could hear the guests in the room next to me through the walls very clearly. The lock on the door could have easily been opened from the outside with a bobby pin. I felt very unsafe the whole night, like I was in a scene from the movie 'hostel'. Wouldn't recommend.
- Antonio (8/5): - Pro: acceptable cleanliness for the price.
Con: they forgot to make our room.
- David (9/5): - The recent upgrade was very good The chair at the desk was too hard
- RayR (8/5): - Basic facilities & vlean except for stain on 1 pillow slip.
In an area of overpriced accommodation, the Bateau Bay Hotel offers reasonably competitive priced rooms. I didn't want holiday accommodation, just a place to sleep, so there wasn't anything to dislike.
- Jade (6/5): -
- Marilyn (7/5): Good - Comfortable room. Very quiet despite being part of the hotel.
- Debbie (7/5): Good - Convenience to where I needed to be and price. It was clean. I realise it was a great price and dont expect premium accommodation, however a few things would improve the room. Microwave, bathroom extras, hair-dryer, hand towels and washers.
I stayed 2 nights and the room wasn't serviced or had facilities to wash up my own glasses etc. The bed should have a mattress protector to ensure it stays clean and hygienic.
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Morgan (10/5): - Great staff great food
- Joanna (7/5): Good -
- Tiffany (1/5): Shortcut - Hot water The hole thic
- Chris (8/5): - Fast transaction, quick and easy check-in at short notice, good value stay and close to the beach.
- Warren (6/5): - There were 3 coffee cups upon arrival, but 2 were dirty (not washed properly) and no teaspoons
- IVAN (8/5): - Hotel was clean and in a good location.
- Sandra (8/5): Very good -
- Stuart (2/5): - It's a low-cost room to be fair but wasn't clean there was mould on the shower curtain and the mattress for the bed was sagged, unsupportive and smelled like a mixture of body odour and musty dust. I've been in backpacker hostels that were cleaner and more comfortable. I left and drove 2 hours home to sleep at my own home after the second time I Iaid on the bed.
- Cassandra (10/5): - .

- Terry (6/5): - Run down.
- Rick (8/5): - *
- Kerrie (2/5): Disappointing and expected more - Didn't have breakfast The room I suppose you get what you paid for but when I heard of renovations ,I was optomistic There wasn't even a hand towel There was a problem with the toilet which wouldn't flush Cleanliness left a lot to be desired We ate in the restaurant and although the food was just okay it was extremely busy and VERY loud Fridge needs to be checked Water gathered on top of fridge which was near power points for tv and extra points We had to lay a towel on top as water gathered a lot
- carmel255060 (10/5): Great food and atmosphere - We came here for a friends birthday. This is my local pub which was recently had a total renovation and is now an excellent venue. The food is always good. There is plenty of room and plenty of parking, although we could walk from our house.
The outdoor area with huge playground for kids is fantastic. I have been many times now with friends and family and we all love it
- Samantha (10/5): It is clean and comfortable and perfect for a short stay . Great bar and bistro attached - Clean and comfortable No problems
- headingyonder (4/5): Would not stay overnight at this hotel again - Yes, the price was reasonable at $81 for a hotel room per night but it was noisy and I got woken up at 1am by rowdy people in the car park and then I got woken up a second time at 5am by people having a long, loud conversation in the car park. There is no dedicated parking if you are staying at the hotel and at busy times the car park is almost at capacity (although you can use gravel overflow parking at the rear) and you may need to carry your suitcases and things 100m or so across the car park to your hotel room. The hotel rooms were hard to find with no large clear signage on the building that you can see when driving past. There was no signage for reception, which turned out to be in the adjoining bottle shop - so I wasted time finding the place, parking and then lugging my stuff a long distance in a couple of trips to the room. Then after a 2hr drive to get there, I had to go to the supermarket and waste time and money to buy shampoo and conditioner, as it's not provided. There is no quilt, just a thin blanket between 2 sheets, so you need to run the heater all night to keep warm - very environmentally unfriendly and yet more noise. BYO hairdryer. The staff are friendly and the shower pressure is great, but the bathroom ceiling is covered in heavy mould - so that can't be good for guest's health. Because it's attached to a busy pub and there are random guys sometimes standing around in the car park smoking or loitering, I didn't feel safe as a female travelling alone (even though it may actually be safe, I would have preferred a stand alone hotel/motel).
- Linda (9/5): Enjoyed our stay - A good location next to the hotel so easy access for great food and atmosphere. Rooms were a bit tired, but for what we needed, it was more than adequate.
- Enrique (10/5): - Easy going friendly staff
- Anna (7/5): Good - I was disappointed that there was not breakast
- Annette (10/5): - Loved the hotel. Needs a blind on glass door.
Staff beside the room were very noisy cleaning up but I suppose that’s to be expected
- Katie (7/5): Staff where great food was great accommodation good for one night needs to have a deep clean on the room and the sewage - Great location for us passing through restaurant was great for dinner staff where lovely There was a horrible sewage smell coming out of the bathroom and the bathroom was not clean at all the glass had a buildup and sink hasn’t been cleaned from the last guests. But was value for money didn’t expect to much for one night it was fine I wouldn’t stay any longer than that.
- Sudhir (10/5): - The stay was good for the price I paid.
- Josh (7/5): For the price, it is a comfortable stay. Location is the best. - Location is great, as is room size. Comfy bed. Being next to a big club with plenty of space to watch sport is a plus. Size of television and very little crockery (no bowl or dinner plate).
- Kim (8/5): - We had dinner at the hotel, we ordered the seafood plater for two and all of it was COLD even the chips. The service heat lamps were not on or not working. Hopefully next time it will be better.
- Joseph (8/5): Very good -
- Asghar (1/5): I’m not happy - Bad experience
