- Stella Gavriel (10/5): - Great location in the pedestrian area of Makrinitsa! Very clean room with all the amenities needed. Mrs. Irene the host is great.
- Chantal (8/5): très bon séjour - petit déjeuner extra, jus d'orange à volonté, petits feuilletés salés délicieux servi par une dame charmante..
vue imprenable sur Volos..

- Ioanna (9/5): We had a great time and we very little effort the property could look fantastic. - The location is superb, very easy access and very close to the village parking.
We had the three rooms on the top floor, around a cosy sitting area with a fireplace that we had private use of. It was great! The rooms could have been better taken care of. Bed sheets and toilets were clean, but the rest of the property looks tired. The bathrooms need renovation and just a handy man could make a big difference.

- vianneyte (10/5): - Tout!!

- Alan (9/5): Tiny... but perfectly located room in a special location - Room in beautiful old mansion (archontiko) perfectly situated midway between Makrinitsa main square and the main car park - only around 2 minutes walk to either. The house contains beautiful period furnishings and has a small but very pleasant garden with beautiful views over Volos and its bay and is where we enjoyed the excellent breakfasts provided by the lovely lady who was looking after the property. There was also an exceptional newly opened restaurant - Arismari - one minute away which boasted a terrace giving stupendous views over Volos and the Pagasetic Gulf, and which was hosted by a charming lady with the delicious culinary delights in the hands of another more than capable lady - all excellent value. Due to the nature of these old properties, although the house itself was huge our actual room was very small and the bathroom in particular a masterpiece of miniaturisation/claustrophobia. The (enforced) position of the small double bed one side of which was against a wall meant that access was only possible from one side - not perfect! The addition of a small fridge would have been a benefit - though in truth the addition of anything in such a tiny space would be challenging. But at the end of the day the property description, size/facilities etc was accurate and not misrepresented. It was rather being confronted on arrival with the stark realities of what that actually meant which was difficult to contend with, although despite those reservations we still managed a reasonable stay.
- Meryl (9/5): Superb -
- Nikolaos (9/5): Wonderful & traditional experience! - Location, view, staff Privacy could be better
- Tina (8/5): Very good - Breakfast was delicious and homemade. Breakfast could be ready earlier.
- Silvia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Derek (10/5): Lovely hotel - Lovely well restored traditional house packed with history and in a great location, with friendly and welcoming staff. Nice breakfasts too! Mothing
- Ivaylo (10/5): Exceptional - Accommodation in a beautiful and quiet place with a beautiful garden and wonderful host. Highly recommended.
- Miguel (10/5): Lovely family stay - Everything I loved my stay at this place.
- Sally (10/5): I want to and will definately go back to Makrinitsa and when I do this will be the only place I would want to stay. - The location was absolutely perfect. Toward the beginning of the town so not too far to walk. The staff….Vageli and his wife were
Also wonderful. The steps leading up
To the home were slightly treacherous……
- Nikolaos (9/5): fantastic location and setting - you will stay in an historic house the matras could be a bit softer
- Jessy (10/5): Exceptional - A great hotel, with an exceptional atmosphere, clean rooms and good breakfast!
- Goran (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (3/5): If you like hostels.. - + Old townhouse naer to the turistical center
+ Good WiFi
+ Good breakfest with homemade products
+ Nice shared lounge - Tiny, dark room (about 12 sqm); claim on booking: 22 sqm
- Bed only 1,90m long - in a double room!; claim on booking: >2,0m
- No wardrobe
- One (!) not occupied power outlet in the room incl. bathroom
- Tiny, dark bathroom with tiny window
- Free on top: During last night the neighbor burned damp garden waste,
after which the whole room was filled with smelly smoke when we returned from dinner
- Harlow (10/5): Delightful; did not know what to expect but found it utterly charming. - Breakfast was plentiful: coffee, juice, eggs, bacon, lunch meat, cheese, toast, jam, and more. We stayed on the top floor in Room #2 and the view from the sitting area on the top floor was just stunning. It is an old-fashioned place with traditional carprentry that uses skeleton keys for the rooms. If you like that, you'll like this place. While taking your shower, you'll be looking out a window on a horse pen and chickens. Would love to come back here. Re parking, private vehicles can't drive on the very small road through the village. You'll need to park in the lot down the street; it is perhaps 200 meters to the hotel. You also need to negotiate some of the rocky steps that pass for stairs in all of Makrinitza. A mobility impaired guest might have difficulty. There was also no air-conditioning in our room, which was fine when we were there (end of May), when it was still breezy and cool.
- Christopher (8/5): Very good -
- Lesley (8/5): Beautiful traditional archontiko in the mountain village of Makrinitsa - Wonderful location in the village. Beautiful patio, lovely breakfast. Wonderful atmosphere and communal living area. The staff were friendly and helped bring our luggage up the many stairs. The bathrooms and shower in particular were very small, which is understandable given the age of the home. The finishes were quite worn in places. A few small annoyances - no mount for the shower head, not enough shelving in the bathroom and no toilet seat cover in one of the rooms.
- S (10/5): Exceptional -
(9/5): Great location, nice staff , great value for the money - Maria is very nice, breakfast is very pleasant with freshly squeezed orange juice . We had a little mishap with electricity cut for a couple of hours Stairs are making noise
- Katya (5/5): Passable - The view in front of the house is beautiful. The breakfast was good. The hostess was kind The house is very old and noisy. When you are walking inside the floor creaks. The bathroom door cannot be closed. Everything was tiny and there is no air inside. The windows are small and inside is dark. The beds were not comfortable. All is one and the same premise. There are no door of the bedroom.
- Theodosios (9/5): Excellent choice for our short holiday in Pelion! - The host was super nice and polite and we felt comfortable immediately. The building is a traditional residence that is very well preserved and renovated. We loved staying there and we highly recommend it!
- Eyal (9/5): Perfect location - Location location location. Perfect location just in the middle of the village where all the shops and beautiful restaurants and caffes. Beautiful house. Very nice view from the porch. Breakfast is ok. You cannot get with the car since cars are not allowed on the street so you have to carry your suitcase for a couple of hundred meters depending on where you manage to park your car.
- Dimitris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sulia (8/5): Very good - You were right in d centre of the village square . Both Katerinas doing an excellant job. Views amazing .
People so friendly. We knew it is a historic building with amazing antique furniture pieces and pictures. No aircon but Katerina brought us fans.
- Maria (9/5): Superb - Run by the nicest, most helpful and hospitable people.
A different, warm, home-made breakfast every day.
Excellent location, right in the middle of the village, with breathtaking views over Volos and the mountain.
Highly recommend. No negative comments.
- Panagiotis (9/5): Superb - Excellent location, view, traditional architecture, friendly service, delicious breakfast, comfortable rooms, aromatic toiletries, cleanness Small bathroom space in our room, and noisy toilet water tank...
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ben (5/5): Shambolic booking arrangements, but potentially a lovely hotel - The hotel was an old charming buliding with lots of character and very Greek. The room was lovely and the location of the hotel was perfect. There was a major mix up with our booking. We turned up at the alloted time to find the hotel closed and that they had forgotten about our visit. We telephoned the number on Booking.com and got through to the ? owner who was in Athens. She advised that there would be no staff for another 4 hours and after a delay offered to find alternative accodation. Eventually she contacted an elderly gentleman to let us in to the hotel. The hotel was in a bit of a state.
The breakfast the following morning had stale bread and cake and was not very good.
- Bryan (9/5): Superb -
- Alexander (8/5): Very good - excellent breakfast, decoration, view and location Slightly Dates bathroom and furniture in the room.
- Aliki (8/5): A value for money property, ideally located, perfect for young people. - The location is perfect, an easy and short walk from the parking lot
The staff is welcoming and polite
The property has authenticity and character The room was very small, even for 1 person, especially the bed. I can't imagine sharing this with another. The windows should have protective railings, there is fear of accident every time you open and close the shutters. Breakfast should be ready at the time it is supposed to be served, on both days, it took them 15-20 minutes to set up everything.
- Zoe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Παυλος (9/5): We will be back! - Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast. Value for money!
- Michail (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexis (8/5): Very good -
- Evdokia (9/5): Superb -
- Meg (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful and romantic place! feels like going back in time! worm and kind hospitality . Beautiful view!
- Alena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeremy (9/5): Superb -
- Zdravka (10/5): great stay - We had a great stay here!! The place has everything you may need. The house is spacious, cozy and clean. The view from the house is speechless, but the most important asset is Demi’s warm and friendly welcome. All in all a great stay and would stay there again and recommend to others! 🌅💛🌸
- Anna (10/5): Stunning historical hotel, very relaxing atmosphere, embraced by nature, amazing views - Absolutely amazing atmosphere, very relaxing, with a great historical vibe, stunning views of Volos, mountains and sea from all the windows, embraced by nature. The hotel amenities are comparable to better rank hotels (very clean, crazy comfortable and huge bed, very nice cool climate in summer) and at the same time it keeps its rural 'old greek' historical appearance with all the beatiful artefacts and ancient preserved furniture that surrounds you in all the hotel. Very personal care for all guests, breakfast very rich and each day different. Few meters from public parking and extremely close to main square of Makrinitsa, 10 mins by car to Portaria, another historical village, 20 mins by car to Volos. It seems a general problem for all hotels in this area can be a public parking availability in the peak season.
