Guest Reviews
- CHIENMIN (10/5): - 老闆的手藝很好,吃到現在覺得他的羊肉跟漢堡是我覺得最喜歡的,當時手扭傷老闆特別的注意到,真的是溫情滿滿的一間旅館。
- Ciaran (9/5): -
- Rafi (10/5): - Hospitality was superb. Hosts were so friendly and kind.
We highly recommend this place
- Kati (10/5): - Die Lage ist direkt am Meer, das Essen ist herrlich, die Gastgeber sehr freundlich und das Zimmer sehr schön und das Hotel ist sehr kinderfreundlich. Preislich war es sehr gut 🙂
- Colin (10/5): - Hotel Nordjulos in Raufarhöfn is an absolute gem—cozy, clean, and quaint, with comfortable rooms that make for a restful night. But what truly sets it apart is the people. Holmsteinn (“Steinny”) has a heart of gold—so kind, charismatic, and generous. He sat with us to chat, shared stories of his family, his wife, and his grandson (who proudly carries his name), and even offered us the chance to see their fishing boat. His twin sister, Guna (forgive me if I’ve misspelled it), was just as welcoming. The kindness and sincerity they showed reflects the very best of a small village community, and as travelers, it was incredibly comforting and memorable. We left not just with a stay, but with a story to treasure. When we return to Raufarhöfn, there’s no question we’ll stay here again—and we’ll be eager to hear about Steinny and his wife’s next trip back to Spain!

- Sigurður (8/5): Very good -
- Jayne (9/5): Superb - The staff were excellent, the food was exceptional (fresh fish), the location was great. The shower was too small 😩
- Peng (10/5): We have an excellent night and the host make you feel like a family. - The excellent host and also the best chef. Nothing that I don;t like.
- Doris (10/5): We would absolutely stay here again! - Large very comfortable and clean room. Absolutely wonderful hostess! They now have a very nice elevator. We had the best meal of our trip at the restaurant at the hotel. Definitely try the fish and lobster soup!! The rooms were very quiet. There wasn’t a single thing that we did not like. Our stay was absolutely perfect!
- Stephan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janet (10/5): A great journey to the northernmost town in mainland Iceland! - We received a warm welcome on arrival and it was a relief to discover the lift to help us get our luggage up into our very spacious room. The room had plenty of space to open both suitcases (AND walk freely around the room!) as well as a desk to sit at and sofa to relax in. The bed and pillows were the best we've experienced in Iceland (plenty of pillow options in the wardrobe). We slept better here than in any of the other accommodation so far on our 3 week tour around Iceland. Nothing, it was all fine.
- Cheryl (10/5): We are exceedingly happy with our experience staying in this hotel. The owner, we call him, Captain (he owns Two fishing - Clean. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Super delicious fresh meal served in the hotel Restaurant. They own their own fishing boat as well, so Fish served here were caught just hours before service. Location of the property is close to many local attractions: arctic henge (walking distance), Hraunhafnartangaviti Lighthouse 800meters south of the arctic circle is only a short drive. Hotel property is right in the harbor, and centrally located to all necessities (gas station, bank and post office, community center, and a small convenience store)

- Sudipta (8/5): Northern Lights! - Clean, modern hotel but not much character
Staff very helpful throughout

Good location- great views of the northern lights Breakfast was an expensive option
Expensive
- Sheela (10/5): A small fishing village - Note this is just a hotel room with no mini fridge or microwave or tea kettle. It was definitely comfortable and spacious room. The hotel does have a restaurant and bar.
The staff at the hotel are outstanding! They helped me with all my requests without hesitation. That is why I gave them a 10!
There is really nothing to do in this town, it makes a good quick stop but not much more. Keep going to the East Fjords!

- Alan (7/5): If you want to hotel in Raufarhofn this is the choice. Bring some $ - Nice room clean and spacious
Good quality hotel considering it is in Raufarhofn in the most remote part of Iceland. Quite expensive
Breakfast should have been including but not. Breakfast wasn’t anything to shout about but considering to distance for food supply it was good.
- Dcmoore (10/5): A great place to stay when visiting northern Iceland - Very good sized rooms with ample space to spread out An electric kettle for making hot drinks would have been good
- Stefan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Scott (10/5): clean comfortable and pleasant helpful staff - delicious food in restaurant and loved the kind staff
- Gert (7/5): OK but expensive for what you get - Nice host Old fashioned. No TV in room
- Marc (10/5): - Literally just miles from the Arctic Circle. This hotel is run by a brother sister combo. They are very friendly and even helped me with a car issue. Within walking distance of arctic henge this hotel has a very nice field, very roomy rooms and a clean bathroom. The restaurant serves excellent food, and will cater to any whim. Did I mention the owner was very nice? Love this place.
- Christos (10/5): everything was exceptional, a clean room with nicely smelling ans a very comfortable bed On top of that the owner, Mr Ho - everything was exceptional, a clean room with nicely smelling ans a very comfortable bed

- Andrea (8/5): Very good - Very kind staff. The hotel is very nice and located right on the harbor of the town. As the town is very small, there is the possibility to have dinner in the hotel. The hotel does not have a lift and already at the entrance you have to go up two flights of stairs with your luggage.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was a clean and comfortable hotel. Decent restaurant that serves drinks, food, and a cold breakfast buffet. I would stay here again
- Verified traveler (8/5): Notalegt hótel - Mjög notalegt að dvelja þarna, fengum hlýlegar móttökur. Góð rúm og góður matur. Vingjarnlegt starfsfólk sem því miður talaði ekki íslensku og það er óheppilegt fyrir marga eldri borgara.
- Karen (8/5): - Perfect location to see The Arctic Henge which is within walking distance of the hotel. Wanted to take pictures at sunset and sunrise so this worked out perfectly. Simple, clean, and friendly staff. Had a great salmon dinner in the hotel restaurant. Had hoped to see some northern lights but the night was cloudy and quite foggy.
- Michael (8/5): - Overall nice place. Room was very clean. Staff was very friendly. Normal breakfast for what you get in any Iceland hotel. Very quiet and was able to get a good nights sleep. There was no television in the room but the WiFi worked very well so you are able to get by without a tv. If your Iceland travels have you needing a room in this remote location a good place to stay.
