- Yasmin (6/5): - The property is overrated. I selected Plaza Carnaval Hotel based on the feedback from previous guests, but I found those reviews to be misleading. The hotel is decent, but three stars is simply too generous. The downtown location feels unsafe for walking after dark, forcing us to rely on taxis to reach better dining areas. As an experienced traveler, I believe this hotel deserves only a two-star rating.

- OLINTO (6/5): Average - Don’t count on sleep. The location is hideously noisy. They can’t do much about outdoor noise except invest in double glazing ( do it!) but not enough was done about the dog who locked in a room which would not shut up. Also breakfast was disgusting.

- Callahan (10/5): Very clean, modern hotel - I stayed at Hotel Plaza Carnaval with my partner for two nights during Carnaval 2022. No complaints at all- very clean, lots of accommodations including free waters and Gatorade. There’s a great almost panoramic view of the city from the terrace where they serve an ample breakfast. The staff gave great recommendations about where to eat, where to go for the carnaval festivities, etc. We ended up staying another night and they were very helpful with accommodating that as well.

- Jose (10/5): A+ to the staff at this hotel. - The hotel was located very close to downtown, the service was fantastic I highly recommend this hotel, they really took care of little details like bringing an herbal tea to your room as soon as you came back in for the day. Every morning for breakfast there was different varieties each day which made breakfast very enjoyable. Once again I highly highly recommend this hotel for the attention to details from the staff.

- Jim (10/5): Superb newly built hotel in ideal location - I only stayed one night, but my experience of the place was fabulously positive. The room was spotlessly clean, superbly presented and very comfortable. The staff couldn't have done more for me, especially Sebastian and Jose who went enormously out of my way to help me cross the now very tricky border into Ecuador. This once simple crossing will now take up to 5 hours due to mass Venezuelan migration. Due to their help it took me only 1.5 hours. The hotel will soon have a roof top restaurant which will do justice to the stunning views Pasto has to offer. A superb stay. Thanks guys, and to all the staff there.
