Helena (4/5): Damp and mouldy apartment - unacceptable to rent out in this state - Location and the views from the property are all fabulous. In the lead-up to the visit, and to prepare for arrival, the host was very friendly and helpful eg with tips for things to do in the area. The property has extensive damp and very visible mould on several of the walls and ceilings including in the bedroom (see photos). The damp permeated the floor (so our feet were damp from walking around) and our clothes, and the apartment smelt of damp. We fed back to the host, and his response was that, with the weather as it was (wet and chilly), ‘some damp is kinda inevitable’. When we sent photos to demonstrate that that extent of damp could not be considered inevitable, we then never received a reply. As an absolute minimum, dehumidifiers should be in all rooms and the apartment repainted ; ideally, the damp should actually be treated. We do not believe it is acceptable (or healthy ) to hire out the apartment in this state. Would also strongly recommend some modernisation to the bedclothes (ie new ones) and the decor.
Gabriela (7/5): Good - Superb view of the lake. Charming town. Friendly host. The host also bought parking tickets for us. Easy self check in. Generous bathroom. Bright and spacious The humidity in the apartment. It has no air conditioning. The bed needed maintenance.
