• Franz (10/5): - Das Anwesen ist zauberhaft und mitten in der Natur gelegen. Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich. Aber das beste ist das Essen. Es gibt jeden Abend ein 4 Gänge Menü zu einem mehr als fairen Preis. In 2 Wochen Sizilien und Rom haben wir nirgendwo so gut gegessen wie hier! Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sogar verlängert und wären noch länger geblieben, wenn es zeitlich möglich gewesen wäre. Danke Karin und Luigi!

• Beate (10/5): Phänomenal! - In der Stille des Ortes kann man herrlich zur Ruhe kommen, und dennoch liegen 80 % der Hauptattraktionen Siziliens in leicht erreichbarer Nähe. Auch das Meer. Logisch: Wer reinen Badeurlaub möchte, dem dienen die Städte direkt an der Küste besser. Für Wanderer wiederum ist Donner Lavia der perfekte Ausgangsort, um im UNESCO Geopark Madonie zu wandern. Ich war total geflasht. Das Haus hat eine wundervolle Atmosphäre mit seiner mehr als 600 Jahre zurückreichen Historie. Die Anlage ist liebevoll gepflegt und die Besitzer total nett und hilfsbereit. Sie haben immer einen guten Tipp für die Tagesplanung parat. Grandios ist das dazu buchbare Abend-Menü. Der Hausherr ist ein auch überregional, anerkannter, meisterhafter Koch! Er zaubert ein sizilianisches Essen auf höchstem Niveau! Und noch dazu mit vielen Zutaten aus dem eigenen Garten.
• Angela (10/5): Piccola perla nelle Madonie - L accoglienza e la simpatia di Luigi, in poco tempo ci ha organizzato tutto il percorso fornendoci ottimi consigli. La dolcezza della chiacchierata con Karin sul gattino Franz è gli altri animali che lo hanno preceduto . Eccellente la cucina, ottime le cene e le colazioni, davvero da provare! Sono stati due giorni davvero piacevoli. La struttura è molto bella, in un antico Monastero e in una posizione strategica. Torneremo sicuramente! Prossima volta vorrei una camera con bagno con il bidet

• Caroline (10/5): Delicious food in a historic building - THis was our favourite stop on the Via Dei Frati and worth the diversion (and elevation lost!) to stay there. Atmospheric historic building with delicious dinner and breakfast. Helpful and accurate walking advice
• Peter (8/5): - I like it. It’s not very big in terms of walkable area, since there are signs everywhere that say “personnel only. The lady was very kind and explained a lot about the surroundings. I dislike that there was a €10 charge for my pet, which in my case was about 15% of the room price. In general, an additional fee for pets feels a bit unwelcoming.

• Sebastiano (10/5): - Impossible riassumere in poche parole la sensazione di piacere che abbiamo goduto in questo splendido luogo....ma due righe Luigi e sua moglie li meritano col cuore....e dunque posso dire che siamo stati 3 giorni SUPER COCCOLATI oltre a godere della meravigliosa natura che circonda questo luogo d'incanto il cibo preparato dal proprietario Luigi con cura, amore, dedizione e tanto ma tanto lavoro perché propone bontà a mio avviso di qualità impareggiabile con prodotti da lui personalmente coltivati, raccolti e cucinati....mi chiedo "cosa volere di più"....un plauso di cuore per tutto ciò che giornalmente fanno con la loro semplicità ma altissima qualità e simpatia che fanno la qualità....se fosse un olimpiade LUIGI e sua moglie meriterebbero una indiscutibile medaglia D'ORO.... Non finiremo mai di ringraziarli e saremo sicuramente felici di ritornare a trovarli.... There is an interesting village nearby which is about an hour's walk, quite steep up the hill. The owner has good maps of the area and can show you more than 10 hikes of different lengths. Having meals outside was just amazing.

The garden is idyllic and the views are unparalleled. Not only that, but the hospitality we received was excellent - superb dinner, decent breakfast and friendliness from our host Karen. the access road, though this is not the fault of anybody... Tip: approach from Polizzi direction every time

• Joseph (8/5): Peaceful location - Very nice hotel, almost looks like a castle. The location and the views were exceptional. They have this little bench overlooking valleys which is just pure bliss. The staff were extremely friendly, especially the chef and the waitress who really took good care of my hunger after a full day of motorcycle riding :) The room was very clean and did the job a couple of minor things, but nothing major. since it's an old property the doors of the rooms aren't soundproof at all, and i could hear all the chatter and banging from the family next to my room. The A/C in the room comes with a charge of €10 a day to use which the property explains is to keep the room price down. While I understand their methodology, I think €10 a day for A/C is way overpriced
• Barbora (8/5): Very good - The location is stunning and has a charm. Just make sure you're not arriving at night as the mountain roads leading to the property require an experienced driver! Could do with a kettle in the room with tea and cofee available.

It was a perfect location for hiking and exploring true Sicily with access to Cefalu close by. Breakfast was of a continental style and the set evening meals, with various courses, beautiful prepared and varied. Catering was adapted for a vegetarian diet and dining in a relaxed atmosphere. You will certainly be well fed The hosts, Karin and Luigi, were especially helpful and welcoming and we wished we had booked a longer stay with them
• Michal (10/5): Oasis for relax - The location is a paradise itself - we started there our Sicily trip for two nights. To be honest at the end of our week when driving back from east Sicily back to the airport I wished I had two more days and relax there again. I loved to sit on one bench with wine, watching sunset before always tasty dinner. The atmosphere is there brilliant. If you add very intersting Madonia mountains nearby and you prefer silent nights, and time making slow tick tack it is a place ! No idea

• Athena (10/5): a unique B & B property - Run by a husband and wife team, this charming property makes for a delightful stop in the Madonie. The room furnishings are a bit basic and there is no air-conditioning or ceiling fan or mini-frig, but there are screens on the windows and even tho we were there in August, the night-time temperature did drop down to comfortable for sleeping. Breakfast was plentiful, and it is definitely worth it to plan on arriving early enough to have dinner there. If you are continuing on toward Enna or the north side of Etna, be aware that the long-distance road along the edge of Polizzi Generosa has crumbled into non-existence, and you will need to drive right down the main street of the town, so it's best to plan on doing it before 9 am or after 10 pm or during the 12 to 2 pm lunchtime when everything closes and the pedestrians vanish.
