- INGRITE (1/5): NIGHTMARE IN EL NIDO - Nothing, I was placed in a room called the shell 🐚 made by plastic rather bizarre. The view was magnificent but that was all. Walls dirty you will see in photos, night time to lights to get up to the room completely dark and dangerous, the office can only turn AC of after 10 AM and at dark they also turn AC off so office is an oven. The restaurant bar the food is horrible we order 2 pastas not sure which one was worst a couple from Arkansas asked for the stake all stayed in the plate. Restaurant at 8 pm said we had no ice we could wait 20 minutes to have a cold beer 🍺 could drink wine no ice for the ice bucket. I had a medical emergency the city has no eye doctors and only a very limited small clinic. The people are very very nice but far prepared to help foreigners. Lots of BS rules but yet they serve drinks inside the pool food inside the pool and on my check out date which was before the total dates where they said early departure not refundable we were treated like you need to leave the room now as if we were thief’s to steal any of the garbage that they have there. Towels are small and far from white The floor dirty, the toilet with stains. Rather insulting when they take 6000 as a security deposit lol. 2 days was plenty enough I was sick and they couldn’t care less but to care of no refunds.we went back to Manila to the Makati Diamond residence which is highly recommended. We liked nothing ! This hotel is good for young people that don’t mind climb a stiff mountain on 95 summer. That don’t care about not having drinking water in the property not even to brush your teeth as they advise you not 🤦 They don’t give you a bottle water like most hotels do but a container with a water that God knows if you can trust. Definitely not recommended for older people and people that expects the basic standards. I am shocked by the reviews I went by but this was the worst hotel I stayed in years I am on a 33 days trip in Asia and this was the 6th hotel in line and the worst.

Our villa was also gorgeous and very spacious, secluded and relaxing with the outdoor bath tub. It’s a very steep climb up to the property - and although car rides are included to go up and down the hill, some of the drivers in the evening seemed very fed up, as if we’d put them out having to come collect us - it felt awkward. But the only small thing I can think of - other than that it was a great place to stay.

Staff are so friendly and helpful, easy to communicate and the onsite restaurant serves really yummy food with very reasonable price! So is the Spa we booked for 90 mins, very relaxing we didn’t leave for 2 days! The staff came to the room with a cake for my birthday surprise and sang for me, it was beautiful and much appreciated Nothing at all! It was an amazing stay I only wish I could stay longer

- Alena (10/5): A wonderfully welcome stay in paradise - Karuna is a gem amongst the hustle and bustle of El Nido. We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment with our 2 children (7&9 years) and it was wonderful. Views to die for from the front bedroom and whole living space, loads of room and great facilities. The place was cleverly set up e.g. a water cooler in each room to reduce waste, and there were fans and air conditioning and if you wanted to cook there was a well equipped kitchen. The breakfast was bountiful and delicious and the restaurant was the best food we had in El Nido at a very reasonable price, and having the dining area look over the pool and sweeping views of the bay made for spectacular meals. Would stay here again for sure. Nothing to fault. As is with the rest of El Nido, don’t expect the pristineness of a 5-star western resort - El Nido is a remote tropical location after all. As advertised, the villas are set in a steep slope above the beach, so access would be difficult for the very unfit or less able bodied, but the beautiful gardens and views make it worth it. Our young kids easily managed it. And there is a free shuttle to the main part of town.

- Cally (10/5): Relaxing stay with excellent views and service - Complimentary continental breakfast was excellent! My guests and I looked forward to it each morning. Honestly, all of the food at Karuna's restaurant was delicious; we had dinner twice there during our stay, and we were never disappointed. Best pina colada ever, it's a must try! Our room was spacious, clean, and perfect for 3 people; we had 2 beds, 2 showers, and a massive balcony that directly faced the sunset (amazing views!). The pool also offers amazing views and is a perfect place to unwind after a long beach/boat day. The staff tended to our every need and was always very friendly. My guests and I each enjoyed Swedish massages at Karuna's spa which were excellent and incredibly relaxing. I cannot say enough positive things about this hotel, I absolutely will recommend it to my family/friends and would definitely stay here again. There was an unpleasant smell in and around my room in the late afternoon to early evening - this was likely sewage-related. Thankfully, it'd be gone or improved by bedtime.

Also, we arrived for breakfast at 8 am (it started at 7am and until 10am) and 2 dishes were already sold out (and the options were limited), it would perhaps be better to ask guests to chose their option the day before (rather than simply suggest it) to avoid this - as I ended up having to chose something I didn’t really like. Lastly, we are asked not to open the umbrellas by the pool due to the wind, which is not ideal as we would’ve liked to have some shade.

Das Personal ist super freundliche und das Angebot im Restaurant war sehr gut. Man brauch immer einen shuttle, um irgendwo hin zu kommen. Dieser wird aber vom Hotel teilw. sogar kostenlos angeboten. Die Abstimmung mit der Rezeption war sehr einfach über whatsapp. ACHTUNG die Anlage ist nichts für Leute mit Gehschwäche (aber das weiß man vorher, weil das Hotel das ganz klar auf den Buchungsplattformen macht.)

Petit bémol : au niveau du service de restauration il était dommage de ne pas être servis en même temps (nous étions 4) et d avoir plusieurs plats manquants (dont poisson à la carte)

Der Service und auch die Küche sind sehr gut. Es gibt kein Buffetfrühstück, dies haben wir als bereichernd empfunden. Es gibt einen regelmäßigen, kostenlosen Transport nach El Nido. Wifi ist nur auf ein Gerät pro Person beschränkt. Die Zugriffsqualität war auch nicht sehr stabil. Gerade in der Nacht ist die weit unterhalb der Anlage befindliche Straße deutlich hörbar, aber dafür kann das Hotel ja nicht.

It is abit out of town and the shuttle is only 2 hourly, and you have to let them know. One night we let them know but they had a airport pick up. They have more than one car. A bit unorganised. If you don't like stairs avoid this place The breakfast selections are limited.

Os funcionários são extremamente simpáticos, mas pouco eficientes, precisamos ir várias vezes na recepção por diversos problemas e só ouvimos desculpas e mais nada: - Entraram no quarto para retirar o telefone, mesmo o funcionário tendo me visto entrar na área do quarto; - Mudaram a senha do wi-fi e não avisaram; - Café da manhã repetitivo e muito lento o serviço. Além do menu ser fechado e qualquer coisa além deve ser paga; - Serviço do Shuttle, mesmo avisando com antecedência pode não ocorrer, tendo que pagar o Tuktuk por fora.

La struttura ha un servizio di navetta gratuita fino alla città ogni ora e ci ha aiutato a noleggiare il motorino per un giorno. Il personale é sempre disponibile e gentile. La colazione fantastica! La navetta per l’aereoporto è un po’ costosa. Noi abbiamo preso un tuktuk spendendo molto meno. Peró per il resto eccezionale.

Вилла просторная, есть кухня, но мы не использовали. Хорошего качества полотенца, постельные принадлежности и постельное белье. Бассейн инфинити с шикарным видом и отличной музыкой. Отель находится на горе, вниз спускают машинки от отеля каждый час, возят в центр Эль Нидо и забирают. Очень удобно. До пляжа Vanila beach ехать на трицикле близко. Звукоизоляции на вилле совсем нет, поэтому слышны ночные завывания фанатов-караоке с улицы. Кондиционеры в спальнях очень шумно работают. Рядом с виллой расположен генератор (может, и нет), но шумел так, что сложно было уснуть. Еда при отеле посредственная, не сами продукты, а как приготовлена.

Beautifully designed with the intention of providing a refuge from the busyness of El Nido yet with a fantastic view of the limestone islands from atop a hill. The infinity pool is happily situated where you feel connected with the amazing view that’s infront of you. Its heated waters allowed our family to swim at night, with the mellow lighting. The amenities provided, along with the impeccable staff service made our family holiday memorable and fun. The complimentary breakfast offered a variety of choices that we enjoyed. The reception and welcome drinks served at our villa set the stage for a great holiday. The villa was very spacious to accommodate all six adults. The bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen were put together with the purpose of meeting the needs of the guests. The cost was a bit high but worth it for a Christmas family homecoming holiday for us. Although my son and his wife enjoyed their bedroom with the adjacent ‘outdoor bathroom’, I’m glad to have the bathroom which was enclosed next to the other bedroom. It’s nice to look at a ‘bathroom within nature’ but the vulnerability for me would have been too much.

The views from the villa and the restaurant area are spectacular, the staff is always very nice and willing to help with any request you may have. We had to go to the hospital one evening and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. The food and drink selection is really good. Expect geckos in the room or at least outside. It's normal as you are in nature, but we weren't mentally prepared for it.

O restaurante tem ótima qualidade a preços acessíveis, assim como o serviço de massagens. O hotel disponibiliza ainda aluguer de motas e organiza tours. A equipa é muito prestável e a comunicação via WhatsApp é extremamente útil e eficiente. A casa de banho é exterior, o que pode não ser ideal para todos os hóspedes. Em particular, a utilização da sanita à noite pode ser desconfortável, pela possibilidade de encontrar insetos ou outros animais. Os transfers para o aeroporto, apesar de bem organizados, parecem algo caros tendo em conta a curta distância.

Food at the restaurant was great and the staff were very accomodating and responsive our entire visit. Free shuttle to town is super easy and again staff always very responsive. Aircon was very loud but it was ok as like white noise at night. We couldn’t get hot water in the shower but again was ok as it’s hot all year around so lukewarm absolutely fine. I’m sure staff would have fixed it if we asked them to do so

Two beautiful Filipinas in the front office, Diana and Ellen were so professional and friendly. Young Lester was also friendly and professional. The young lady running the restaurant was tremendous at her job also. I would say that she is the most attentive staff member. If in town, I would recommend getting a trike back to Karuna because the free shuttle offered fills up and there may not be room. Contacting a staff member by phone from your room can be a little difficult.

Most of the Joglos don't have a private pool like the main picture, but you have access to the common infinity pool which is awesome. Staff are friendly and there's a free shuttle to and from town. More maintenance needed! The doors were really hard to slide open and closed, the water dispenser didn't work properly (supposed to have hot and cold water but only had warm even after plugging in and turning on overnight). The hammock had rotten wood and loose nails which caused me to fall and hurt myself a bit, but the staff were nice and fixed it quickly. Lovely place but definitely needs a bit more attention to detail on the maintenance and upkeep.

Go on - what are y - Best view from both the restaurant and our balcony that I have experienced in any hotel. The swimming pool was lovely and the staff were really polite and helpful. Best of all a macaque monkey came and sat on the barrier of our balcony. The only issue came when our booked massages were cancelled snd we didn’t find out until after they were due to start. However staff were very apologetic and made sure they were rearranged for the next day.
- Rahul Nair (9/5): We had a fun stay. Thank you - We traveled with our family, and both the kids and us enjoyed our stay. The staff was gracious and very helpful. Our room was wonderful, and the view was excellent. The location is not central to the city, but shuttle buses run every hour, which was very helpful. The food was decent, not great. We only had one meal there apart from breakfast.

- Sokheng (10/5): Beautiful views and beautiful staff! - A stunning property with beautiful views of mountains and water. Our room was the Joglo 1 and it was very spacious with beautiful views of the water and mountains from the bed and the terrace. The staff here are exceptionally helpful, friendly, courteous and knowledgeable! As the hotel area is huge they use WhatsApp to communicate which was very convenient. They also provide a free shuttle to the town centre and back every hour until quite late. This was a great perk because the hotel is not in the centre of town but this was a good thing as El nido town centre is very noisy and crowded. I was very happy to come back to the tranquility and beautiful views of the hotel. À la carte breakfast was included in the price and was really good. We had the choice to have it at the restaurant/pool area or in our room (at no extra cost). We managed to squeeze in another island hopping tour on our last day and staff were so lovely in letting us use the shower facilities before our long drive back to puerto Princesa in the evening. Staff are very accomodating and fix any issues immediately! The airport hotel pick up was a bit pricey compared to the tricycle which we took instead. Although we only had two carry on luggage which might be a bit harder to manage on a tricycle if you had larger suitcases. The property is quite steep hence why the beautiful views. We had no issues with the steepness but If you have any issues with walking up steep hills then this may be problematic.

- Courtney (10/5): A stunning villa with incredible views and exceptional service — I’ll definitely be coming back! 🌴✨ - Omg, everything!! I would give this villa a 5-star rating all the way. The view from my bedroom was absolutely breathtaking — waking up to that scenery felt like a dream. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and always went above and beyond. They even share their WhatsApp contact so you can reach them anytime instead of going to reception. The free shuttle to and from downtown was super convenient, and they were always on time. I truly felt cared for during my entire stay. The only small issue was that the shower water wasn’t as hot as I would’ve liked — it was warm, but not quite enough after a long day of island hopping. Still, it didn’t take away from how amazing my stay was overall.

- Gonçalo (10/5): - Our stay in Karuna was without a doubt absolutely perfect! From the staff at the reception and on the pool and bar area everyone made our stay one to remember. The faciities are just perfect, and the shuttle service to town really is a valuable service. Definitely recommend Karuno to everyone going to El Nido!

- reuven (8/5): - We have ambivalent feelings. On the one hand, the place is charming and cozy and the staff tries very hard. On the other hand, there are rules and the atmosphere is that of a camp, not a resort.

- Mylene (6/5): - Karuna has wonderful staff. Only concern we had was the room was not ready. There was no towel, body wash almost empty and the water dispenser was almost empty that we kept calling the front desk. I booked a transfer at 5am, it was not ready and we had to wait.
- Roland (8/5): Schöne Anlage mit traumhafter Aussicht - Sehr schön gestaltete Häuser mit tollem halb offenem Bad. Der Ausblick ist fantastisch- auch resp. v.a. vom Pool. Gutes und leckeres Frühstück (wenn es auch lediglich einen Kaffee dazu gibt). Die Vorhänge liessen sich nicht ganz schliessen, dadurch wurde es relativ früh hell. Die Toilette im Bad stinkt teilweise sehr stark, was ziemlich störend ist.
