Fantastic staff who struck the perfect balance between being friendly/helpful and respecting our space (I.e. not over the top like some other hotels). Would 1000% recommend and would absolutely not go anywhere else if we were to return. We had previously stayed elsewhere in Rishikesh for a similar price, Holy River was SO much better

Es werden Massagen angeboten, die wir sehr gut fanden. Die freundliche Mansi an der Rezeption war uns eine große Hilfe! Nichts zu meckern.

They helped us plan our 3/4 days in Rishikesh, offering recommendations on what is worth seeing and how to navigate the town. They booked multiple taxis for us and helped us with rickshaws. They also accommodated a late booking at the spa for a massage for my sister. The hotel and rooms were very comfortable. The beds were so comfortable, and the heating worked great during the winter season so we were very cozy. It was a lovely place to rest after exploring the surroundings.

Os quartos são confortáveis, bem decorados e equipados, e o banheiro é muito bom — sempre limpo e funcional. O café da manhã é delicioso, com ótimas opções de culinária indiana e ocidental. A localização é perfeita: no coração de Tapovan e a uma curta caminhada da Laxman Jhula, em uma área cheia de restaurantes, cafés e lojas. Em novembro de 2025, a nova ponte, embora ainda em obras, já permite a passagem de pedestres, facilitando muito o deslocamento pela região. A equipe do hotel é maravilhosa e absolutamente prestativa — inclusive consertaram o zíper da minha mala, um gesto que demonstra o nível de cuidado e atenção com os hóspedes. Uma estadia excelente em todos os sentidos. The hotel is excellent and very beautiful, with a welcoming atmosphere that makes the stay even more enjoyable. The rooms are comfortable, well decorated, and well equipped, and the bathroom is very good — always clean and functional. Breakfast is delicious, offering great Indian and Western options. The location is perfect: right in the heart of Tapovan and within walking distance of Laxman Jhula, in an area full of restaurants, cafés, and shops. As of November 2025, the new bridge, although still under construction, already allows pedestrian crossing, which makes getting around the area much easier. The hotel staff is wonderful and absolutely helpful — they even fixed the zipper on my suitcase, a gesture that shows how attentive they are to their guests’ needs. The hotel offers transfer service from Jolly Grant Airport (DED) for an additional fee, which I highly recommend, since the nearest airport to Rishikesh is in a neighboring city about one hour away. No final de novembro fazia muito frio e o quarto não tinha aquecedor, mas as cobertas e edredons disponíveis eram bem quentinhos e ajudaram bastante. Isso não diminui em nada as qualidades do hotel. At the end of November it was very cold and the room did not have a heater, but the blankets and duvets provided were warm and helped a lot. This does not affect the hotel’s overall quality in any way.

• Megan (10/5): STAY HERE! Comfort, good food, great service - This was my favorite hotel stay in India. It was affordable, clean, comfortable and provided all the amenities. The room was as soundproof as you can get- which matters when you aren’t used to the traffic noise. The restaurant offered delicious food at affordable prices, I was able to have my laundry done and enjoyed a massage at the spa(Laxmi did a great job). Every staff member was warm and accommodating and seemed to genuinely care that I enjoyed my time there. The bed was by far the most comfortable of the many places I stayed. The hotel is close to the action but set just off a main road making it more pleasant to leave the hotel on foot than being right on the busy road. When I come back to Rishikesh this is where I’m staying. Highly recommend ❤️ Zero complaints
• Jennifer (10/5): Immaculately clean, secure, good location, very comfortable rooms. Excellent. - There is a lot to like about this hotel. While in the Rishikesh area I stayed in four different hotels between various treks, but this one was clearly the best. Excellent location for everything! No real view, but surrounded by tour operators, restaurants and shops, and hop away from where Indiahikes collects trekkers. Short walk to the Ganges River and Lakshman Jhula. On a busy road but I could not hear any of the noise, the soundproofing is excellent. Wifi good. Modern, secure, very comfortable room, bonus it had a room safe. Every area of the hotel, whether it be my room, gym, massage room, dining area or reception were immaculately clean. That is not an exaggeration, it was spotless. This extends to the pool and outside area which is private from the road. Breakfast was fantastic with great choice and western style coffees available. Breakfast could be enjoyed in airconditioned interior (very quiet) or the paved outdoor area listening to the racket and commotion of Rishikesh. The service was first-rate, with reception helping out when requested, massages booked on a moment's notice, dining staff eager to assist. You can book this hotel with peace-of-mind.... Laundry came back four hours later than agreed.... caused some anxiety when it did not arrive by 4pm but only came back at 8.30pm.

I had booked this hotel for my parents and relatives for the 3 nights with superior rooms with breakfast. Breakfast spread was nice. Although they had dinner at the restaurant which was very costly. Like one icecream Scoop is for 120 rupees. Rooms are nice and clean. Also reception staff was very helpful and supportive. Thank you holy river hotel. Date of stay:June 2025 Room Tip:Please book this hotel minimum 2 months before your trip so you can get a good deal. Otherwise this hotel pricing gets very high. • David (10/5): Well Above Expectations - I was thoroughly impressed with my recent stay at the Holy River Hotel in Hrisikesh. The hotel facilities were above expectations for their price point. The rooms were sufficiently sized and comfortable for me and my roommate. There was a nice assortment of dishes for breakfast, and everything was delicious. The staff was warm and accommodating. Akash, the on-site spa manager and masseuse, stands out as a highlight. He is friendly and went out of his way to make room in his schedule for me and other members of my travelling party to receive massage treatments while we were there. Akash is a well-trained masseuse who does exceptional bodywork. You will not regret booking a massage with him. I can't recommend the Holy River Hotel enough. I will definitely book again the next time I visit.

Food is surprisingly costly from Rishikesh standards with one Tawa roti ( chapati) costing Rs.80 and single Parantha costing Rs.120? The spa is one man show and the guy fell sick during our stay so the Spa was closed.

• Melanie (8/5): - Hotel was nice and we appreciated the early check-in they gave us as well as having a room on a high floor with a (partial) view of the river. The bathroom was a bit of a problem thought when taking a shower there was literally no way to avoid serious flooding. The room also could get a bit sticky and it wasn't possible to open the window to air it out, unfortunately. Breakfast buffet was just 'ok', there were no eggs on offer at all, for example (not even hard boiled ones). Location of the hotel is good, right on the main drag in town, so gives good access to restaurants, shopping and travel services.

• Girish (10/5): Fantastic hotel, great staff and perfect location. - I stayed here for 15 nights. The staff were helpful, well-mannered and very friendly. Property is within a 5-minute walking distance from Laxman Jhula, it’s a 4-storey building and is very clean. Plenty of facilities available, including a gym and swimming pool (although I didn’t use them). The breakfast at its Holy Oven is very tasty, which caters for both Indian and Western tastes. The room service meal delivery is very quick and is available 24-hours. I would not hesitate to come back to this wonderful hotel and its wonderful staff. Thank you for a great stay. Not the fault of the hotel but there was a lot of building work going on close by that seemed to go on well into the night. Also barking dogs were a bit noisy on occasions. A good pair of earplugs is all that’s needed!
• kristin (8/5): - This hotel was one of the best we tried in Rishikesk. It did not have a view of the river and the streetside rooms were a bit noisy but the patio was nice. The best part was that you can go across the street to Ganga Kinare that is on the river and holds a lovely aarti in their private ghat. They also have a fantastic yoga studio on the top floor with an incredible view and a terrific teacher that is free to attend.

Unfortunately the bed wasn't very comfortable being two single beds pushed together to make a double, and we kept experiencing powercuts throughout our whole stay. Paying over 6500 rupees for one night, I expected more.
• Joan (10/5): Peaceful Stay with Exceptional Service - The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and ideally located in a central area, making it easy to walk to a variety of shops and cafes, or hop on a tuk-tuk to explore further. The staff were exceptionally friendly and always eager to assist, greeting guests with warm smiles. Despite being situated on a bustling main road, the hotel was remarkably quiet, with very little outside noise making its way in. I especially loved the serene yoga space, where I could enjoy my self-practice in a calm and peaceful environment. Another highlight was the delicious Indian breakfast offered, which was fresh, flavourful, and a perfect start to the day. This hotel truly exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend it. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Tapovan. Absolutely nothing.

The rooms were exceptionally spacious, clean, and well-equipped, offering more comfort than we anticipated. From the layout to the amenities provided, everything was thoughtfully designed to create a welcoming environment. The reception staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, always available to answer questions and provide assistance with a genuine smile. Even the security personnel at the gate were attentive and courteous, adding to the warm, inviting atmosphere of the hotel. The combined effort of the team made us feel truly welcomed and valued as guests, making it a memorable experience overall. The breakfast service could use some improvement. There was a noticeable lack of attention from the waitstaff, as we often had to ask for basic items, which interrupted the flow of the meal. Additionally, the selection of breakfast items felt limited and could be enhanced with more options to better cater to a variety of tastes. While the in-room dining was enjoyable, a more attentive and well-organized breakfast experience would make the overall stay even more satisfying.
