- Peter (10/5): -
- Tiffany (10/5): Lovely lodging, view, location. Was chilly that night, so appreciated the fireplace & bed warmers! - The continental breakfast items apparently had not been resupplied/supplied. Assume this was due to our late booking and check-in, otherwise everything was great and as expected.
- martin (8/5): - natuur - dieren het ontbijt was ondermaats
- Craig (10/5): - Location, facilities and overall experience

- Justine (10/5): Tranquil haven in nature. - Beautiful location with stunning views. Short walk to town. Comfortable and cosy. Heavenly place for a short break in Halls Gap.
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful views and luxurious bed. Very comfortable. The gas heater was great. As was the rotatable TV and the spa bath. Milk in the fridge had a use by date of the day of check in. Needed milk that would be within date for a few days more.
Understandably it's better than many other accomodation options in the area but the cost per night was probably a little high.
- Ali (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (10/5): Delightful - It was a real treat to wake up to a view of the mountain range. Loved sitting outside with the birds and wildlife nearby. Very handy bbq. Lovely breakfast provided. Very special place to stay. Liked everything
- Pamela (10/5): Luxurious, relaxing. Responsive hosts. -
- Richard (7/5): Good - Love the animals an immersion in peace and nature upon arrival. Perfect retreat away from a busy city lifestyle. Due to miscommunication, the window cleaner was performing his duties whilst I was making breakfast in my undies (within full view of the worker). Without any guilt, shame or embarrassment, he continued cleaning to the point where my partner had to ask him to leave at once due to a complete invasion of privacy. We were offered compensation in the form of a $50 refund, but thought more could have been done in terms of communication and compensation.
- Vicki (10/5): What a beautiful place! This is a purpose built luxury chalet with excellent facilities, attention to detail and a carin -
- Dyanne (10/5): Definitely be coming back to Bushland. Had an amazing experience. - Amazing views, blown away by the scenery and peacefulness. Comfortable huge bed and so much openness. Waking up to kangas at your front porch is an absolute experience! Loved every inch. Amazing piece of property.
- Yair (10/5): Awesome ! A stay to remember for a long time - One of the nicest properties in Australia , blending in the nature of Halls gap
- Svrkota (10/5): Amazing! -
- Diane (7/5): Good -
- Debra (7/5): The Grampians was a great place to visit. The accommodation was lovely if it wasn’t my fears of being watched! - Beautiful setting , very comfortable stay I was highly concerned about the 2 red flashing discs in the ceiling above the bed that were similar looking to a down light but different to the smoke detector in the kitchen. It’s such a sad world to have these concerns.
- Ines (10/5): A great place to stay - Location was excellent, close to restaurants and shops yet in a bushland setting with mountain views and plenty of wildlife. The accomodation was of a high standard, comfortable and clean. Definitely come back again.
- Catherine (9/5): Worth it - Design of property makes the most of the unique surroundings. Wildlife very quiet. Really nice property. Panoramic windows . Very private. There wasn't anything not to like.
- Ann (9/5): the wild life wonderful - no bread provided which we expected.

- Janice (9/5): Superb - The view was amazing. The room was big and comfortable. The breakfast was not good as the milks use by date was the day we would have been having breakfast
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brett (10/5): Beautiful stay - 100% recommend - Luxurious stay - we thoroughly enjoyed the two nights we spent here.
Absolutely beautiful settings, with wildlife including lots of kangaroos around the property.
Nice touch with the food from the local area provided for breakfast. Hard to answer! We really enjoyed our time here
- Vaughan (10/5): Exceptional - For us this was amazing. We are from USA and it was outstanding. We couldn't get the heater/split system to work, but it was probably us.

- Jo-ann (10/5): Amazing - we'll be back - Such a tranquil, private, and gorgeous property and in the heart of Halls Gap. Beautiful flora and fauna. The most kangaroos, emus, ducks, and deer we've ever seen in one location. And the best museli and fudge we've ever tasted!

- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely loved our stay in Bushland. Great location, easy access with plenty of privacy, perfect for a little escape away. Enjoyed watching the wildlife come and go and the views were spectacular. The retreat itself was incredible and equiped with everything we needed. All the communication prior was super helpful, exactly what we needed to be informed yet self check in allowed for the freedom and privacy to come and go as desired. Thank you for providing such a wonderful stay :)
- Narelle (10/5): Highly recommend for a couples special occasion. The kangaroos and joeys were incredible to watch - This is an exceptional place. The property is stunning and having the wildlife roaming outside the windows was magical. We spent our 30th wedding anniversary here and couldn't recommend it more highly for an amazing and romantic getaway. Beautifully set up and maintained. Only thing was a group of people wandering on the property outside our window on day 2 (which was just a surprise as there were so few people around) and breakfast was a little disappointing with only 3 tea options (none of which were teas we drank) - no English Breakfast which is the most common tea. But only very minor complaints.
- Liz (10/5): One of the best places we’ve ever stayed in. The views are magical we didn’t want to leave. - Absolutely everything about the property especially being so up close to the wildlife There was nothing we didn’t like
- Tai (9/5): Superb -
- Joel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (10/5): Great relaxing getaway, will go again - Fabulous location, quiet, fabulous views, short walk to restaurants and shops.
Very private Bushland accommodation, total luxury.
Beautiful to see the Kangaroos, Emus and birds close to our home.
Nice walks just around Bushland All perfect
- Linda (9/5): Cosy, comfortable cottage in fabulous location - great for a couples reboot break. - Truly exceptional location - visited mid week - the privacy was incredible - the views/aspect is one of a kind within Halls Gap - an added bonus was the kangaroos, emus, blue wrens and corellas around the cottage just being and getting on with their life. Very calming. Washers on the taps need changing - some where hard to turn off and stop dripping/leaking.
- Karl (10/5): An architectural gem surrounded by beauty! - This property is surrounded on both sides by the Grampians, nestled near the town centre of Halls Gap. Plenty of wild animals to see, kangaroos, wallabies, deer and ducks are all plentiful.
Your nearest neighbour is the sister house to this one (The one we stayed at was called bushland, but ironstone is also available.) Bushland is actually in a better spot as it is situated by itself, whereas ironstone is located close to another house (within 10m) so if you are after seclusion I would pick bushland over ironstone.
An architectural beauty, with high lofted ceilings that afford you uninterrupted views of the Grampians, where ever in the house you may be, even from the bed when you wake up in the morning.
Overall the best self-serviced house I have stayed at for a long time. The fit and finish were superb, with granite countertops, hardwood floors and doors, dual showers and crystal wine glasses! The spa tub was amazing, as it also had great views.
Thanks for the lovely time
Would recommend as a couples retreat. 10/10
- Verified traveler (10/5): Spectacular - Amazing place, view is breathtaking, wild life is unbeatable
- Michael (10/5): Beautiful country - Great place for an amazing wildlife experience
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The views are breathtaking, close to town but far away enough that you still feel secluded from anyone.
- TIAH YEOW (8/5): Stay @ Ironstone in Halls Gap - In our booking it was stated that they would send us a 'check- in email' closer to our arrival time (1 Oct). The email didn't come and I had to call to ask on how to "check in" as there was no reception counter per se at the villa. Anyway that was a minor hiccup as the villa was a very nice, spacious and quiet place facing the mountains. Stunning view from the villa itself. The villa has a well equipped kitchenette and self service laundry. Kangaroos, emu, foxes and ducks were just outside the villa. A 10-minute walk outside were the restaurants. If you intend to do some light cooking, then it would be good buy your groceries and fresh produce before checking in because the prices in the general store were unfriendly!!
