• Marion (7/5): Nettes Zimmer in einem unpersönlichen Hotel. - Zimmer gut ausgestattet. Unpersönlich. Frühstück langweilig. Zimmer über Pub und Lüftung. Zimmer sehr hellhörig. Das Restaurant haben wir zweimal besucht. Essen nicht schlecht, aber es war nicht möglich eine zusätzliche Scheibe Brot zu bekommen. Keine Flexibilität, eher McDonald-hafte Vorkonfektion
• Kathryn (8/5): Very comfy stay, spacious room and greet location with tasty food. We will be back! - Lovely town, very centrally located to Chapel Down and Gusbourne. Pub was very cute, and very tasting food (we had dinner in one night) and friendly staff. Room was steep, with the bathroom floor very slopey so wouldn’t recommend if any accessibility issues. Can only speak for the room we were given and expect that is not the case for all the rooms.
• Gale (8/5): I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again. - My meals were delicious. The staff were friendly. There were plenty of options for hot drinks in my room. The water was lovely and hot. My room was clean. The sheets were crisp and clean. The location was great for looking around the shops. It would be nice to have the option to have synthetic fillings in my pillows and duvet as I am mildly allergic to feathers (my eyelids swell and my nose becomes blocked. Nothing life-threatening!) The mattress topper had a 'stain' on it. The towels didn't smell freshly washed although they appeared clean.

Friendly and efficient staff and good food at dinner and breakfast. Bathroom was small and shower was weak.

• Maria (7/5): Full of character - we enjoyed our stay. - The rooms were absolutely lovely. Spacious, with an equally spacious bathroom. We had a view over the churchyard - it gave a lovely rural feel within the town. It is a thriving pub, but we weren’t disturbed by music or patrons. The food was good, too. The bathroom had a macerator pump: whenever you flushed the toilet or washed your hands at the sink, or had a shower the noise was considerable on and off. Having said that, we got used to it fairly quickly, but my recommendation would be not to flush if you need a midnight tinkle…

Building works at adjacent property reduced manoeuvring space. Lots of steps and changes of floor level upstairs - quirky!
• Christopher (8/5): Lovely stay in character pub with comfortable rooms. - Parking in the back off road. Very friendly staff. We had the apartment which was bigger than expected and had lots of character. Coffee, teas, biscuits in room. We did not have breakfast but it looked good. Only thing is apartment is in the attic with steep stairs and some low ceilings from the sloping roof - adds character but you should not be disabled in any way.

• Ian (9/5): Comfortable and convenient - Good room in a very old building, comfortable bed, everything very clean, breakfast (full English) very good. Floors are creaky and uneven, but that is due to the age of the building so not a problem. Staff were all great, and very helpful. Some noise from the bar area directly downstairs, but that stopped after closing c.11pm. Water pump thing in bathroom makes a loud foghorn noise while water running (I was told about this beforehand, so not too alarming). Bring earplugs anyway for the road outside!
• Nick (8/5): Very attractive town hotel. - Very friendly, engaging and helpful staff; we felt that we (including our dog) were genuinely welcome. Lovely old building with all sorts of odd angle. Excellent location on the high street just next to the lovely St Mildred's Church. Small, free, adjacent car park. Excellent breakfasts and good dinner. Quiet but convivial bar. As some previous reviews note, the macerator (part of the plumbing) is a bit noisy; but only briefly.

• Margot (9/5): This is a charming 15th Century pub with rooms and car park - We stayed in a charming room at the front of the pub and the bed was comfortable, the staff pleasant and friendly. We would stay there again if we returned to Tenterden.

Tried phoning the Woolpack 22 times Answered only once by a man who promised to send me the cancellation invoice. This never arrived. Would like to know what you are going to do about it before i go to my lawyers, Diabolical service.

• Lynn (9/5): Extremely comfortable uncomplicated and pleasant stay - Great location. Really good sized room. Bath was a bonus even accepting the unusual plumbing. Nothing really although the decor could be more in keeping with the historic nature of the building. Perspex dressing table not for me.

• Lynette (8/5): A great location with a lot of character - A great location with a lot of character. The room was simply and stylishly decorated, perfect for a relaxing atmosphere. The car park was rather small with very large/deep puddles! Access at the time was a bit tricky due to scaffolding on the adjacent building.

It's was fine for us but its worth noting the loft apartment bathroom is off of the main bedroom, so guests in the twin room have to walk past the double bed to get to the loo.
