David (10/5): - Hotel room was basic but very nice and extremely quiet. It was an easy walk to anywhere in the old town. Only problem was staff lost my reservation for a parking spot, but we worked that out.

Very nice hotel, front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful, reserved a parking (35 euro daily) in the basement, we had Deluxe room with 2 twin beds, it was pretty new and modern but small ( barely can fit 2 suitcases), can hear rain drop sound from ceiling at night and morning (may be were footsteps). Heater towel warmer rack in the bathroom to dry clothes was great. Our friend had Juior Suite for 25 euro more per night, next time we would choose this kind of the room if we ever go back.
phil (8/5): Lots going for it, but.. - Nice hotel with very pleasant and capable staff. We were on the top floor, small but modern room with everything needed, basically quiet until neighbours slammed doors and woke us up, we couldn’t sleep after that. Street parking is limited.
Gideon (8/5): Perfect intramuros choice - Great experience, modern, central, comfy. Rare to find in the inner city, our new go to choice. Minor downsides - only 1 key card per stay possible, can’t adjust the aircon to be cooler (eco hotel given as reason).

James (6/5): - Fairly basic for a 4 star but acceptable, if you want to park, you MUST prebook as there is very limited parking. We were lucky but there is very limited parking in St Malo.. the public car parks are not hugely secure and often full at weekends - especially in season. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Very convenient being in the middle of st malo
Ian (10/5): - It may be the best hotel within the walls of St Malo. A bit of an oasis. Hotel room was modern and quiet (August). The ability to park under the hotel was a bonus in a very congested Intra Muros area. We enjoyed the comfortable seating area in front of the hotel that overlooked a quiet square.
Alan (6/5): - This is a 4 star hotel that did not live up to expectations, as far as the room itself was concerned. Abundant use of Formica finishes, in places bubbled and chipped, and its wood effect flooring, gave it the appearance of a 1980s touring caravan. The shower room was basic and with its glass door afforded little privacy. Going to the loo in the night means flooding the bedroom with light. The bed was not particularly comfortable and the air conditioning of limited effect.

There were 2 problems that we faced: 1) The streets were very narrow and it was a struggle to drive our big SUV rental car. 2) During the weekend, there was only one receptionist and s/he was either very busy with many customers or not around. They need to hire more receptionists at night or weekends. The staff were very nice, helpful and friendly.
Edward (8/5): - Tulip was in a PERFECT location, with easy walking distance to anywhere within the St Malo walls. Staff was friendly and exceptional. Only complaints were two: 1. The central AC was FIXED on 22C and would go no lower; and 2. The food was extremely limited. No dinner menu and the appetizer menu was pitiful. However, food was abundant within easy walking distances!

We stayed two nights. The hotel is walkable and the location is far enough away from the hustle of the tourist streets, but if you wanted to get there, it was easy. It can be a little difficult driving in the city, but if you take your time, you’ll be fine

James (4/5): Sparsely furnished - Room was uncomfortable- sparse furniture- only on outdoor patio style chair, very uncomfortable and a large clear plastic device, unclear I table or stool. Doubt it would hold me. One very small nightstand. Other than bed that was it for furnishings. No refrigerator. Toilet was in one very small room with no sink - other side of room from sink and shower. We are mobility limited seniors. We were concerned that as soon as you step into the room, you have to step up for rest of room, risk of falling/tripping, especially at night. There was a very nice restaurant across the small square in another property.

Scott (10/5): - This hotel within the historic walled portion of St Malo was a great place to start our Brittany vacation. Relatively large rooms, very comfortable beds, and nice bathrooms. Walking within the walled city is hilly and over cobblestone streets so those with limited mobility would struggle. Would definitely recommend for those who don’t have physical limitations.
Linda (8/5): A delightful surprise - I had never stayed in a golden tulip hotel before, and I was so pleasantly surprised to find such a clean, comfortable, architecturally, pleasant new hotel. The rooms are done very smartly. No carpet beds can be raised by the housekeeper easily to clean under them, the fixtures in the room and furniture allow you to store your items easily And the rooms were bright and cheerful

Only downsides were no refrigerator in room, the bed was a bit firm and the bathroom door was right next to the head of the bed so you cannot use the light at night if you don’t want to wake your partner. Otherwise the hotel is in the middle of everything and the neighborhood is super quiet at night.
Jeffrey (8/5): Overnight stay with the wife. - Great hotel. Although not directly on the beach, the hotel Is right around the corner. Walking distance to everything. Parking was $20 but that’s pretty common. The spa was out of order while we were there so that was kind of a bummer. But the king size bed was nice.
Kazumi (6/5): Stylish and friendly, but lacks facility - Stylish hotel with super-friendly staff. Unfortunately the room facilities don't match the 4 star expectations. We booked a deluxe room for more space and bigger bed, but that was all we got. The shower room and toilet were separate (and at opposite side of the room) which was nice, but there was no sink in the toilet (even though there was plenty of room), so after using the loo, we had to go to the other side of the room to wash our hands! Despite all the floor space, there was just one plasticky chair and a plastic stool. We could have done with a couple of comfy chairs and a coffee table at least. There was no fridge, so the water provided was luke warm. It was obvious the designer was very keen to make the room look nice, but forgot completely about the customer comfort!

Verified traveler (10/5): - My family and I stayed one night in two twin rooms. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. This seems to be a new hotel. The location was great and we appreciated the air conditioning given the heat outside. We did find it a bit odd having to walk across the hotel room from where the toilet is to where the sink and shower are located in order to wash our hands. Also, I wish there was more breakfast options at the hotel besides the the Eur20 buffet. We found some very tasty, cheaper options in town. However, none of these issues are significant. We really enjoyed the town of Saint-Malo and wish we had more time there. If we do come back, we would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Margaret (8/5): Great location, great hotel. - Great hotel. Great location. Room small but well designed. Bed very comfortable with lovely linens. . Good lighting and windows. Two heads in shower. Nice bar, outside seating. Quiet area right next to beach and walkway to Grand Bé Island.

Michael (10/5): - Innovative design, modern hotel in front of biggest square in St Malo intra muros. Staff really pleasant and helpful, parking secure (but relatively expensive at €30). Rooms priced reasonably with all usual mod cons, very comfortable bed indeed. Great hotel for those looking for something a little different - room size slightly on the snug side but not a deal-breaker. Well worth a stay.
cedric (10/5): Can’t really ask for more - Really amazing hotel. Still quite new, the design is amazing, the room (junior suite) was very big. The location is really fantastic as in the city center, 5 minutes from the beautiful views on the beach. Breakfast was worth the 20 euros. Finally the staff was very caring. Will definitively go back.

Suzanne (10/5): Brilliant - Stayed here as had morning ferry. Stayed with my 8 year old and we loved everything about the hotel. Well it was a shock to realise it didn’t have a car park but we found a space at the back of the hotel as there was no where else. There are 6 spaces that can be reserved in advance. Would def stay again. Lovely bar and close to beach.
