• Lorette (10/5): Inoubliable séjour dans le bush, réserve de Balule - Le cadre est vraiment exceptionnel, nous avons eu la chance d’observer des éléphants passer devant le lodge au petit déjeuner, un moment suspendu qui résume particulièrement l’expérience vécue ici. Les safaris ont tous été différents, avec à chaque sortie de nouvelles surprises et découvertes, avec une grande diversité d’animaux. JP a largement contribué à rendre cette expérience unique. On sent quelqu’un de passionné, qui connaît parfaitement son environnement et aime le partager. Chambre confortable, salle de bain très bien équipée. Tout est pensé pour qu’on s’y sente bien. Mention spéciale pour la cuisine de Danielle : généreuse, créative, pleine de saveurs. Dîners pris en extérieur, autour du feu. Un grand merci au personnel pour sa gentillesse. On repart avec le sentiment d’avoir vécu bien plus qu’un simple séjour. Rien. C’était parfait.

Grâce à lui, j’ai pu découvrir de nombreux animaux lors des safaris et vivre des moments uniques.Je tiens aussi à remercier Danielle pour sa cuisine exceptionnelle… qui me manque déjà ! Chaque repas était un vrai plaisir. Et que dire de ces éléphants qui viennent jusqu’au lodge pour égayer le séjour… un spectacle magique et émouvant, difficile à oublier. His game drives were incredible, and he shared so many fun and inspiring stories about nature and wildlife. Everything was perfectly organized. Anna and Pretty were two incredibly kind hosts who also happen to be amazing cooks. Together, the three of them made a fantastic team and made us feel completely at home. We asked JB if he could arrange something special for our parents’ 35th wedding anniversary, and what they put together was truly amazing: a beautifully decorated room and an unforgettable breakfast by the river. To top it all off, we were lucky enough to have elephants visit the lodge twice, an experience we’ll never forget. Dear JB, Pretty, and Anna, thank you for the wonderful time, your warmth, and your hospitality. We ended our trip in the best possible way, thanks to you!

• Remir (10/5): - Все было замечательно! Обычно не пишу отзывы, но тут место превзошло все ожидания, Это настоящее удовольствие видеть людей, влюбленных в свое дело. JB замечательный хозяин, все знает про сафари и Африку, не просто возит по саванне, но реально каждый выезд это вызов для него обнаружить животных в своей среде обитания. Его персонал идеально следит за чистотой комнат, а готов выше всяких похвал. Вы не останетесь голодными и равнодушными к вкуснейшему сочетанию европейской и южноафриканской кухни. Эти мелочи не заметны на фоне отношения к гостям и дикой природы, которая окружает гостей на каждом шагу.
• Günter (10/5): Wunderschöne kleine Lodge mit sehr persönlicher Betreuung - Wir haben uns im Lions Place außerordentlich wohl gefühlt. Wir fühlten uns willkommen und wunderbar betreut von J.B und den beiden guten Geistern Hanna und, Britta. Der Game Drive haben wir uns sehr spannend und das Essen am Boma sehr romantisch. Wir waren traurig, dass wir am nächsten Tag schon von diesem herrlichen Platz abschiednehmen mussten.
• Matthias (10/5): Der Aufenthalt war perfekt und wir kommen sehr gerne wieder - Die Lodge liegt in einem Game Reserve, umgeben von der Natur und nichts weiter. Die Elefanten kamen wirklich zum Trinken an das Wasserloch und am Abend wurde uns auf der Terrasse ein Dinner gereicht. Die französische Küche war herausragend und zu viel. JB hat eine sehr große Erfahrung als Ranger und hat uns soviel gezeigt und erklärt. Man kommt voll auf seine Kosten. nichts

• Roelof Haitsma (10/5): - JB is echt een fantastische host en goede ranger. De safari's waren heel gaaf en ons hele gezin heeft genoten. De lodge ligt midden tussen de dieren en we hebben olifanten gezien bij de lodge. Personeel is uitsluitend met heerlijke maaltijden en super service. Echt wen top plek!
• Tibaut (10/5): Un moment magique au pays des safaris - L'endroit est magique avec vue sur un pond. Le lodge est petit ce qui permet de se sentir VIP. La proximité d'une pièce d'eau nous a permis d'observer des animaux pendant la période entre les safaris. Le guide bilingue français / anglais est compétents et réponds à toutes les questions. La suite familiale partage une salle de bain pour deux chambres. Les propriétaires ont l'intention de construire une salle de bain spécifique à la chambre "enfant" dans les prochains mois.

• Jansen (10/5): - Very special place. Excellent personal service by Danielle, JP and staff. Good food, and of course the game drives: we saw lions and rhinos, and JP told us a lot about animal behavior. We had a memorable stay!
• Karen (10/5): Beautiful little lodge in the bush - A lovely lodge run by a very friendly and very helpful French family. We stayed in the family suite which was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast and meals were delicious home cooked food with generous portions. We did several safari trips with the hosts and we really enjoyed these. The scenery in this area is beautiful. The highlights for us were driving alongside 2 lionesses and the elephants visiting the lodge. We loved watching the family of elephants bathing in the waterhole and taking a drink from the swimming pool. Nothing, it was perfect.
• Ruben (10/5): The best entry point to Kruger - Lions Place is a fabulous lodge. Located in the middle of a private reserve bordering the Kruger National Park, the hotel provides a luxury experience. Besides being very nice, well decorated and comfortable, it offers several alternatives to tour the area with highly trained guides (Congratulations to JB and Ian for their fantastic work as guides!) The room is very spacious, with a very comfortable bed, a large bathroom with a large bathtub, closets, tea and coffee making facilities, cold water and an incredible view of the savannah. Lions Place also has a swimming pool, and two viewpoint that allow you to view the beautiful scenery, plus the garden where if you are lucky you can find wild animals (we saw a porcupine). JB, who is in charge of the place is the best! Very friendly, welcoming and an excellent guide both in the area and during the full day safari we did in Kruger. At Lions Places you can also request, in addition to the value of your stay, a dinner, which is an unforgettable experience. A French and South African fusion dinner with a starter, main course and dessert, which, weather permitting, is served outdoors. In our case we did a full day safari (exceptional!) and a morning bush walk. Both instances were amazing! We saw lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and many other mammals and birds that made the visit unforgettable. A special note to the ladies who run the place, they are very kind and excellent cooks! Totally recommended and we would stay there again.
• Lynn (10/5): Just magical - The whole experience was magical, and one we will remember for the rest of our lives. We were blown away by the efforts made by Danielle in hosting us, from the amazing home cooked food in such a beautiful setting to making sure we had clean rooms, new towels, and made beds to return to every morning. As for the safari, it is difficult to find the words to describe how amazing this was. We really appreciated JP sharing his experiences and knowledge of the animals and his patience in answering our many questions. There is nothing like seeing an elephant with its baby walk right past you or a lion so full after a kill that it can barely move. In the end, we saw zebras, giraffes, rhinos, hippos, impala, rare wild dogs, and many other animals and birds. We already miss our coffee by the river as the sun comes up...it was perfect in every way.
• Spiritualität (10/5): Lions Place is a high-end lodge in a game reserve, providing both amenities and wild animals. - Lions Place is in the middle of a game preserve, so it is remote, but that is essential to its charm. You are in the middle of the habitat of African wildlife. Nevertheless, JB has managed to create a really high-end lodge. The building is lovely, the rooms are very comfortable, and the meals are exceptional. We went on four safaris and they were magical.

• Nisse (10/5): An A-mazing stay in the bush! 🤩 - An absolute little jewel in the Gritjie private game reserve. JP & Danielle and at the time also their daughter Camille gave our honeymoon stay the absolute perfect touch. Extra champagne and a personal congratulations card gives you bubbles in your belly as well. 🥰 JP is an excellent ranger with a lot of knowledge which he enjoys to share and Danielle make the best food to your preferences you can imagine. You can rest assured that you will not leave this place hungry. This is the best safari experience we have ever had. Although we did not see an overwhelming amount of animals but that is a total lottery. This stay was totally A-mazing!!! 🤩😍 We were hoping to see all the big 5’s of course. But it is always a lottery. 3 out of 5 (rhinos, elephants and lions) plus a lot of other species is still quite alright.
• Timothy (10/5): Excellent choice - Wow. What an exceptional stay. Beautiful thatched accommodation with good sized family rooms and well-equipped bathroom. Lovely breakfast with plenty of choice, and evening meal was a delight too. The location of this accommodation adjacent to a watering hole attracts lots of wildlife. For example, a giraffe came for a drink during the afternoon. JP (the owner) is extremely knowledgeable about the local wildlife and his tours are wonderful. Don’t miss out on the bushwalk with a local ranger for a different aspect on wildlife in the park. Nothing at all.

The location is perfect for safari enthusiasts, offering easy access to stunning bush walks and game drives. Overall, Lions Place Lodge exceeded all our expectations. • Tamarahartman (10/5): The best safari experience you could wish for! - Wauw wauw wauw. What an amazing time we had here at Lions place. We have been together with JB and the family for 3 days. We did a lot: from visiting Kruger Park to game drives and a Bush walk. The family is amazing! JB knows so much and is passionate about the bush. He showed us a lot of animals (elephant, lions, giraffes, kudus, buffalos and we even saw a Leopard at the logde!), which was awesome but the best thing was the family really made us feel so welcome and at home. The mom is a fantastic chef together with the two girls helping her (she makes the best pastries and sweets ever!), and JB made us always comfortable and has a great sense of humor. Also the accommodation is beautiful and super clean. 100% recommended for going here, would not have wanted it otherwise and wish to come back here one day.
