rn508 (10/5): Best hotel in Arequipa - Centrally located behind Arequipa’s main square, good-sized rooms and clean facilities. Internet was not great, but we were out and about anyways. The best was the staff, kind, polite and friendly. Wilman at the front desk was specially helpful and friendly. We had a great stay. Thank you, Tikary!

alberto (6/5): - Reservé este hotel para mis padres solo una noche ya que tenían viaje el día siguiente. Lo escogí por su proximidad con el aeropuerto. Sin embargo al recibirlos los trato súper rudo exigiéndole un pago adicional que al parecer debían hacer. Sin embargo al yo hacer la reserva no indicaba nada de eso. Súper grosero el trato de esa persona. Sin embargo el resto del staff fueron amables. Es importante concientizar al personal a la hora de trabajar con público y más si son PERSONAS MAYORES.

Jiovanni (5/5): Passable - Clean and well maintained bathroom/room Room at 4th floor without elevator. I asked several times to change the room but they said there’s not room available. Coming back from full-day tours and getting into the room at four floor was not a good deal for the value. There should be a notice in the room information before the booking submission.
BURKHARD (2/5): - Expedia has taken my money, the hotel claims to not know anything about the booking, and I have to pay the full amount again. Pure Robbery, either by Expedia or by the Hotel. This is the second Expedia booking in Peru that has failed -- and each time I have to pay over again, despite reference numbers and payment to Expedia. I hope to recover the money, but what hassle upon arrival!

chickenl2022 (2/5): price gouging - they confirmed my booking ($152 for2 nights) then insisted that i accept paying 350 per night for a minimum of 5 nights or they would "request" that i cancel. i refused, they cancelled anyway. I complained to booking.com but they did nothing. there is a mining show in town on the dates i booked, so that explains why they did this.

Francis J (10/5): - Hotel Tikary is a rare find in the heart of the Historical District. It has a wonderful decor with two large atrium sitting areas. The rooms are clean, large and comfortable. Paul, who speakes English, helped in making sure my stay was perfect. I would highly recommend this hotel in the center of Arequipa

The staff is fabulous - especially Paul at the front desk! The included breakfast is typical (eggs, toast, juice, etc.) but very good. Room was made up everyday and spotless. Recommend highly!
getaround2014 (8/5): Great Place - I brought a group of 15 people and spent 2 nights. The desk people were great and rooms clean. Breakfast was excellent and the morning we left they even packed breakfast for us to take to the airport because it was so early.
Sarah (10/5): - Such a charming little place. Pretty courtyard within the hotel. Good breakfast. My only main small complaint is that there wasn’t a plug by my nightstand so I had to charge my phone across the room.
Todmozilla13 (10/5): A little piece of heaven - From the moment we arrived at the front door we were impressed by the appearance of the hotel as well as the hospitality of the hotel staff. Our room was well maintained with a beautiful view of the city. The technology they use on the door entry system and the lights is very modern day and we were impressed with the cameras everywhere for security. Every single employee of this hotel that we had contact with were overwhelmingly friendly, courteous and helpful in every way possible. The breakfast was perfect with everything made fresh and the lunch that we ordered was made fresh on the spot including the mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise and juices. I cannot impress enough on you how much of a wonderful experience this hotel was but I can say this will always be our home away from home when we come to the great city of Arequipa!!
Betty_VG (8/5): Very comfortable, clean, centric, safe and well maintained hotel in AQP! - I stayed here for about 5 days in July. People working in the Reception counter and cleanning workers are very helpful and kind, but can´'t say the same about some workers serving breakfast. Rooms are very clean,well illuminated and have all the stuff you may need. Matress quite soft and in perfect conditions ;). Location is really a plus! Good wi-fi connection, amenities and so on. I just would recommed to improve their breakfast buffet, maybe consider oat, soja or lactose free milk, please. Also more variety of juice of fruits! Peru has such a wide variety of fruits, so please, be more generous ;). Thank you!! Anyway, I liked the place a lot ;).

The rest was fine: great breakfast, great location and beautiful building. I would definitely recommend it but maybe I would request a heater before entering the room.
jjvoll (10/5): Lovely hotel - We had a great stay here after doing a Colca Canyon trek. Some of the staff really went above and beyond for us including helping us find a cab to the airport despite the taxi companies going on strike the day we needed to get to our flight. Even when English wasn’t working we managed with google translate on the hotel computer. The room we had was very nice and comfortable. It didn’t bother us but it it probably worth noting that there was no elevator so if you are on the 5th floor you need to be prepared to walk.
erikamariah2017 (4/5): Not going back! - We arrived as walk-ins, so no previous reservation was made. The assigned room was clean, but the pillows and mattresses were not in good conditions. They need to be replaced. The 3rd night they were doing maintenance outside our room and left the room entrance dirty… We notified it to the staff at the reception but they did not do anything. The 4th night we had a new room where pillows were better, but the mattresses still an issue. The internet service was good in all the areas of the hotel. The location cannot be better (a block away from the main square) The breakfast was terrible! The breakfast room is on the 3rd floor were it is too hot and fruits get ruined too fast. Besides that, the staff at the breakfast room replaces de food little by little... counting the pieces of bread one by one…not a good service. We did the check-out early in the morning and left the suitcases in their storage. When we returned at midday to leave something else at the storage, the staff wanted me to pay for a towel that they said we stained.... I was not sure if the towel was the one I used due to I left the room too early ... I requested them to try to wash the towel and tell me if they could solve the problem or not before requesting me to pay, so they did. By the afternoon the towel was clean (they did not have any trouble to wash it)... I travel to Arequipa often, but will never go back to Hotel Tikary.
Ardlfo (8/5): Quick business trip - This is a good hotel for a quick trip. Its very nice, very well located, one block from the main square), not very expensive (85ausd) a night and has friendly staff. It has a fair buffet breakfast included with the room. If you want a late checkout they might charge you half the price. The rooms in the first floor are better as you go up the rooms start getting smaller.
362sandrav (6/5): Location is really great. - Location is really great. Rooms very simple, enough to rest one or two nights no more. Bath is ok but towels are the smaller I've ever seen in a hotel (instead of bath towl they have face towel...??). Breakfast is included but really very por. You better go and take breakfast in other place. Service is nice. They are very nice people.
