- Ilija (2/5): Schoolbook example of wasted potential - Location is literally the only good thing here. Where to start…. The place has great potential and is on a outstanding location. But it became a schoolbook example of what happens when you stop investing, or stop caring about your hotel. Short summary: -came there and booked 5 rooms, 1 room wasnt available due to some problems. We could’ve been contacted about this before our arrival. -every room is covered in mold, full ceilings, walls, its literally everywhere in the hotel -its dirty everywhere. Every hallway, the pool, bathrooms. The staff is most of the time doing nothing, yet the windows havent been cleaned for the last 5 years it seems. -restaurant seems like its been out of use for the last 10 years. In all honesty, if this was a well maintained hotel and they did some effort, they could charge 400% of the current nightly price. Its a shame to leave so much potential on the table, with such an amazing location. My suggestion would be to tear the building down and start again with a new hotel, with investors that actually care about what they are selling.

Hotel lata świetności ma już za sobą. Wszystko jest zniszczone i przestarzałe. Zdjęcia to zmyła i proszę nie brać ich na poważnie.

Hot water in the shower must be turned on manually, and it runs out after only a few minutes. The toilet wasn’t clean upon arrival, but the staff responded quickly and cleaned it immediately. The location is pleasant and quiet, but it’s not easy to find a tuk-tuk in the area.

- Ethan (9/5): Excellent value and location is perfect - Staff were excellent and accommodating. The location is superb, you could not ask for better access. The pool area is great. And it is very good value for money. Security 24/7 is good. As mentioned by other reviews, the property could be more modern. The wifi situation was odd, they put a router in each room when you ask, with different password per room.

Номер двухкомнатный, спальня с большой удобной кроватью и балконом с видом на океан и гостиная с мягкой мебелью, обеденный столом, доп кроватью и балконом с видом на океан. 1 ванная комната, с наличием горячей воды. Номер очень удобный, чистый. Персонал отзывчивый. Очень понравилось расположение. Можно удобно разместиться у бассейна и ходить купаться на пляж. В океан вполне можно плавать и прыгать на волнах, вход пологий, долгий, на мелководье возможно купанье с детьми. Слева в 700 м вдоль океана пляж Хирикетия для обучению серфингу и просто плаванью. Справа в 5-7 мин езды на тук-туке пляж с черепахами. Незабываемые впечатления поплавать с черепахами. Можно заплатить местному работнику пляжа, он будет высматривать и вести черепаху для Вашего комфортного просмотра. Рядом с отелем много кафе и ресторанов, на главной улице национальные фаст-фуды по более дешевой цене, а также супермаркет на расстоянии около 700 м, где можно купить воду, соки, фрукты, йогурт, печенье, крема и даже алкоголь.

- Shane (3/5): - The staff wasn't helpful we had to carry our cases up two flights of stairs on a arriving and down the stairs when leaving I,am 64 and my wife is 62 years old our room wasn't ready on arriving it wasn't ready for 30 minutes after our check-in time it said check out time was 11,to 11,30 am but there rang me to say I had to be ot for 11,am I don't want staff watering on me but a bit of politeness doesn't cost anything rooms was very nice pity about the staff👎

- Kirsten (3/5): Geen waar voor je geld - Het personeel doet er alles aan om het naar je zin te maken. Helaas hebben zij ook niet alle middelen. Het uitzicht vanaf het balkon is prachtig en de locatie is mooi. De prijs/kwaliteit verhouding is verschrikkelijk. Het pand is vervallen, de kamers kunnen wel een likje verf gebruiken en een algeheel herstel, de stop kon niet uit het bad, de gootsteen lekte, de WIFI deed het niet, er liepen veel mieren in de badkamer en als je er 4 nachten verblijft, wordt er niet om een handdoek wissel gevraagd of prullenbakjes geleegd. De jongens van de beveiliging en die voor je klaarstaan als je aan komt rijden doen mega hun best, maar hun Engels is wel echt ondermaats. Met handen en voeten kwamen we er gelukkig wel. We hebben in Sri Lanka in veel goedkopere hotels/guesthouses gezeten, waarvan de kamers en hygiene over het algemeen veel beter waren. Ook verwacht je voor die prijs wel een ontbijtje, maar dat is ook niet mogelijk. Daarnaast staan er 2 plastic stoelen op het balkon. Dit kan ook beter.

Mitt dyreste hotellopphold på 3 uker i Sri Lanka, med dårligst standard og service. 80% av tiden jeg var på hotellrommet var det strømbrudd, og A/C fungerte bare tidvis. Jeg ba om lov til å sjekke ut en dag tidligere enn planlagt fordi jeg ønsket å reise videre med mine venner, men hotellet avslo forespørselen uten dialog. Totalt sett opplevde jeg dårlig service og vilje til å møte gjestenes behov, noe jeg hadde en desto større forventning om når hotelltjenesten ellers ikke leverte det jeg betalte for.

- Ulrikke (7/5): - Plasseringen ved Dickwella stranden er nydelig, og det er få hoteller som ligger med havutsikt. Fint basseng, hyggelig personale. Preget av å ha vært vakkert, men er litt slitt og fellesområdene er nok preget av å ikke brukes mye. Eks resturanten så vi aldri noen bruke. Rommet vårt var ikke veldig rent da vi ankom, så ut som det hadde stått litt tomt, og vi fikk aldri WiFi til å fungere.
- Upuli (2/5): I will not be back and do not recommend. - The location and the swimming pool were the only positive things about the hotel. It is completely overpriced for what they offered. They advertise breakfast, lunch and dinner but the restaurant was closed (this is during peak season). Rooms were not cleaned on one of the days. Staff do not seem to know what they are doing - eg to get a towel, there were several phone calls that the staff had to make to each other. No shower curtain in the bathroom - everything gets wet when you shower. No coffee in the room, only tea. Severe maintenance needed throughout the property - things were literally falling apart, with fittings falling out of the wall.

А какой заботливый и услужливый персонал - им отдельное спасибо. Желаю успехов, ремонта, развития отеля. Мне кажется из него модно сделать конфетку! Сама Диквелла мне понравилась меньше всего, где мы были.

Ya fuera del hotel Hay una playa muy grande, donde puedes nadar, hay restaurantes frente al mar, de hecho Hay un camino para llegar a la playa de hiriketiya fácilmente. no estaban muy limpias el espejo y las ventanas que daban al balcón, la cortina tenía manchas. había un poco de polvo, no tenían toallas para no mojar el piso después de Bañarte.

Zwembad was echt prima. Op loopafstand hele leuke restaurantjes met fantastische zonsondergang. Het was allemaal wat gedateerd. Het kan wel een opknapbeurt gebruiken. Ook zou ik aanraden om de toegang naar het strand schoon te maken. Ook al is het geen privé strand toch oogt het dan allemaal een stuk mooier. Kleine moeite lijkt me.

Traveling with my family, we were immediately impressed by how immaculately clean and attractive the entire resort and our room were—the photos online don't do it justice! The staff truly sets this place apart. They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming, serving us in the best possible way and making us feel instantly at home. This level of service is rare! The location is perfect. Being able to step out and be right near the beach, and the fact that we could see the sparkling ocean right from our room, was a huge highlight. It’s also ideally situated for visiting the many tourist destinations in the area. Everything—from the beautiful setting to the dedicated service—contributed to a truly memorable and wonderful experience. The hotel room was excellent—clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, providing a perfect sanctuary for our holiday. The entire environment and ambiance of the resort are beautiful and tranquil, making it a truly relaxing escape. What truly set this hotel apart, however, was the incredible service. The staff were attentive, professional, and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. From check-in to check-out, every interaction was a pleasure. In short, everything about the Crystal Resort is excellent. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a superb stay in Dickwella. We can't wait to return!
- Sabah (2/5): - I wasn't happy with room I was in, I requested another, but they said the rooms were occupied. There were actually no other guests staying at this hotel as it was off-season. They had to set up an antenna in my room for the Internet, which was very poor. The balcony had 2 very dirty chairs, so there was nowhere to sit. I originally booked for 2 nights but checked out the next day and found a much nicer place down the road called Dickwella Beach Hotel.

- Thiwanka (10/5): Best place I have ever found. - I had the pleasure of staying at **Crystal Resort Dikwella** for one day, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! The service was excellent from the moment I arrived, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The food was truly delicious, with a great variety that exceeded my expectations. The room was spotless, very comfortable, and equipped with more facilities than they had even promised. This place really delivers outstanding value and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend Crystal Resort Dikwella to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay. Definitely worth reserving a room here – you will not be disappointed! At the same time I found some reviews that they have got bad experience. I don't know the reason why did they feel like that. There should be some other reason to type those words. Normally I visit 4 times for one year to downsouth. Always I stay here becouse of Their superb service. In every time I have got a clean environment and comfortable room with excellent service of staff. Highly recommended for everyone.

A disgusting sight that clearly shows a total lack of hygiene and maintenance. On top of that, Booking advertised a restaurant, but it was closed – false advertising. A nightmare stay, I 100% do not recommend!

Бассейн чистый. Чистота оставляет желать лучшего, но это почти везде на Шри Ланке. WI FI никакой, в номере, по меньшей мере. Так как не сезон, не работает ресторан, но мы были единственными гостями, так что эта мера оправдана).

- Tia (8/5): Amazing location right on Dikwella Beach - Killer location, and a perfectly nice, if basic, hotel right on Dikwella Beach. Clean, comfortable, and unfussy rooms, most with views of the ocean, which is just across the street. Not much in the way of a restaurant, but plenty of local options right on its doorstep. Lovely pool. Nice staff, if a little absentee. So-so WiFi.
- Annika (7/5): Great location and value, but be prepared for some drawbacks - The location, ocean view from the bed, great A/C, pool (highly recommended when traveling with an infant), and overall value for money were good! As mentioned earlier, do not expect more than what you paid for. Most of the reviews are accurate: the rooms and bathrooms are outdated, and the tiles and corners in the bathroom are probably beyond cleaning. We also had tiny ants in our room, but since we had been warned about that, we were mentally prepared. We still chose this hotel for its convenient location and pool. What we were not prepared for, however, was other guests having a loud disco in their family room on Friday and Saturday night until 5 AM. After the first night, I assumed the noise was coming from a neighboring property, but on the second night, we realized it was coming from a room on the first floor. I asked the staff to intervene, but they either didn’t do anything or weren’t effective, as the party continued. Luckily, our family are relatively deep sleepers (we can fall back asleep easily after waking up many times a night), but allowing such disturbances in a small hotel is certainly not acceptable. I felt it was important to mention this. All in all, it’s a rather cheap hotel with these kinds of conditions, so don’t expect perfection. With low expectations, it’s actually an OK place to stay, and we even enjoyed our afternoon naps in a properly cooled room and family swim time there!

- serge (2/5): A Fuir - L'horreur a fuir. NUL😡😡. Cela fait 35 ans que je dors a l'hôtel pour le travail, et là c'est le pire.. Hôtel a l'abandon, aucun entretien. Nous avons eu un invasion de fourmis dans la SDB et dans le lit, odeur d'égout très fortes dans la SDB. Normal la pipe du WC fuit, il y a de l'eau qui sort de la pipe du WC. Quelques réparations on été faites au silicone autour de la pipe en plastique, et encore du silicone. Maintenant odeur d'égout+ odeur de silicone + odeur de désinfectant a fourmis, super pour dormir 😠 Des rous partout dans le carrelage, sale. Nous avons trouvé en rentrant dans la chambre des insectes morts un peu partout, ils sont venus nettoyer.. Les commums sont pitoyables, sales, des toiles d'araignées, toute est abîmé, vétusté. Personnes n'ose petit déjeuner ou manger a la salle principale. Mon drap Etat tâche de sang (mais propre). C'est serviettes de piscine sont tâches. Les transats en bois délabrés, cassés sans cousins. Seul point positif, la piscine en bon état et l'emplacement en face de la superbe plage avec des paillotes sympas pour le petit déjeuner, et pas loin a pied de la plage de Kiriketiya. Cela mériterait un remboursement sur les 3 nuits passées. A FUIR. Dommage car l'hôtel pourrait être super si il était entretenu..😠😠

- Sile (8/5): Wonderful location on amazing beach, friendly staff - Location right on the beautiful beach is perfect. The current wasn't too strong, nor the waves too high. My 11 and 15 year old kids loved it. It was their favourite beach! The room was very spacious with a nice balcony and sea view. You might see monkeys or exotic birds in the garden and the pool was fine for the kids. No major injuries as mentioned by other guests. The receptionist was v. friendly and spoke good English. The other staff were also friendly, despite very little English, but aimed to please. You can easily walk or take a TukTuk to the lively and trendy Hiriketiya Beach for a bit of action in the evening. I really recommend the restaurant Raa, which is pricey for Sri Lanka standards, but fabulous food and drinks. Smoke and Bitter is just down the road, which is supposed to be really good too but it was booked out all the nights we were there. You need to book in advance via WhatsApp. One evening we ate in one of the beach bars about 100M across the road (Machon Place) from the hotel and it was awful. The beach bar (Pineapple Cafe) directly across the road from the hotel had great fruit platters and friendly service, but again pricier than other places we had been to in Sri Lanka. We had breakfast twice next door in Verse, which was a bit different to the usual SriLankan offering - worth going there. The price was a bit high for the quality of the place, to be honest. This hotel has a "Fawlty Towers" feeling to it, but I grew fonder of the place day by day! We stayed 4 nights. Yes, some things are rusty, broken and outdated, the WIFI wasn't great, the sun loungers v. primitive and there was a large cockroach in our bathroom one morning. However, one has to bear in mind the high humidity, the exotic and lush surroundings and salty water right on the doorstep. It's no wonder it's hard to keep it pristine. It's a pity the restaurant doesn't serve food in the evening, but I can understand how it's impossible to keep food in stock when they are not sure how many guests will eat in. If a fabulous chef took over the restaurant and some repairs would be done, this place could become a gold mine. Despite some failings, I would come again for the location.

- Eliza (8/5): Very good - Staff were great. The manager was so friendly and welcoming. It was right on the beach which had a beautiful sunset and you could see wales from our room in the morning! A water filter or access to water during the night when the reception team aren’t there would be great. I would say general maintenance could be improved but overall really good value for money and we had a great stay.
