Guest Reviews
- David (10/5): - Comfortable, clean and great value for money. N/A
- Amanda (10/5): -
- paula (9/5): Short and sweet stay in quirky place. - Arrived and handed keys quickly and politely. Directions to room given. Room spotlessly clean. Everything expected. No one to check out so was unsure where to leave keys
- Susan (9/5): Comfortable and good stay - Nice and comfortable
- susanna (9/5): Very good - I was upset that I didn’t get breakfast as I had to leave before 10.00 the lunch was very good Breakfast earlier
- Jonathan (7/5): Great value for money and very handy for an overnight stay. - Small kitchette in room with fridge was very handy. Great for making your own breakfast or heating up a meal in the microwave or pan in the evening. The bar on site would have been very nice but was not open on Monday or Tueday when we stayed. It wasn't obvious on the booking that BOTH people staying had to show photo ID (not just the person making the booking).
It did mention it in the booking details but only way down the email after all the other essential information so was easily missed - we didn't know this until we arrived at the property. Its probably more the fault of Booking.com in the way it provides information and ideally, any 'abnormal booking conditions' (showing BOTH photo ID is certainly not normal here in the UK) should be made more explicit within the main body of the booking information at top of the email (not hidden away down at the bottom in a different section).

- Katy (10/5): perfect central location - I have been completing an apprenticeship at Stafford Uni (stoke-on-trent campus) and started using Potbank in my final year and wish I had found it earlier, It's a 5-10 min walk to the train station and to the main uni campus. There are shops, pubs and take outs all local to the accommodation. The rooms are large and have all the essentials for your stay, a microwave and hob in the rooms and everything has been spotless each time I stayed. The free Wifi was always fast and strong too which is great. I think my only comment could be that I didn't manage to get hot water from the kitchen tap to do the dishes... but the kettle soon fixed that for me, and I never reported it as I didn't find it to be an issue while I was there! For the price bracket of these rooms they have been great
- Hand (1/5): -
- Timothy (7/5): - Location Mattress quality
- Geoff (8/5): Great hotel, would stay again. - Clean, comfy and spacious apartment.
Convinient kitchinette with everything needed for a short stay. Area surrounding the old spode site is very run down, wondered if i was in correct place on arrival.
The shower door did not open very far hard to get in and out of easily, but undertandable in an old converted factory building.

- Diane (9/5): Lovely stay - Check in was excellent due to the lovely Sandra who called and arranged it all including an early check in. The Quarter restaurant was lovely and the staff were friendly and worked really hard. It was a little noisy at bedtime due to the restaurant below but we still managed to sleep ok.
- Nancy (8/5): Suited my needs - Freedom to come and go No bar
- Andrew (9/5): - Location for the centre of Stoke and only a 15 minute walk to the train station. Easy check in with drop box code.
- John (8/5): Good value for money. Simple accommodation, but clean, comfortable with all the important things - I liked the small kitchenette with microwave. I couldn't get the induction hob to work, even with the instructions. Don't know if this was me or faulty hob.
Wasn't a problem though, as I wasn't relying on having one
- Jodi (9/5): -
- jeffrey (10/5): great - the room was better than i expected fantastic value for money
- Karsten (8/5): -
- Amanda Tuke (9/5): - Very well designed, with everything I needed.
- Luke (1/5): -
- Linards (8/5): -
- Jill (9/5): -
- Sofia (6/5): pleasant and convenient - ROOM AND BATHROOM CLEAN AND WARM. was expecting microwave. communal areas looking shabby - halls.
- karen (6/5): - Overall it was a good stay - room was clean , good location and good value . Issues with light in the corridors not working and would be helpful to have more signage to help navigate in the hotel and outside to find the hotel entrance
- Hilary (6/5): OK, but some small improvements would make a big difference. - Good location with restaurant and bar on site. Easy to park. Room too hot.
Needs blackout blinds or curtains.
Light bulbs too dim.
Nowhere to plug hairdryer in near enough to mirror.
- Chris (8/5): perfect - nice place to stay
- John (10/5): Really good. - Friendly helpful staff.
- Susan (6/5): Disappointing, overall. - The location suited us.
The room itself was clean.
Decent shower pressure and warm rooms. There is an air of grumpiness about the policies and implementation that does not give a welcoming vibe. The entrance is actually hidden at the side of the building that has the POTBANK name emblazoned on it, so the first reception you see isn’t the hotel reception. The hotel reception is a actually a locked cubby hole in the middle of all the restaurant facilities. Everything seems a bit pinched. I guess a feature of its heritage. The spaces are small: tight narrow stairs and corridors so you have to sort of shuffle around everything. This even in the “superior” room. No comfy chairs, a microwave at floor level, fridge door set under a wall cupboard you could knock yourself out on. To cap it all there were two pneumatic devices drilling up the drive under our window from 8 am!
Not the right place for me.
- Angela (8/5): -
- Mark (9/5): A comfortable place in the heart of the potteries - Well equipped room No on site breakfast and not much locally either.
- Callum (9/5): - Very nice, large rooms for the price. The kitchenettes in each room is really useful
- Julie (9/5): - Very helpful staff and very clean
- Gupti (5/5): Quirky but improvement needed - Clean and tidy looked quirky in an interesting location. Have stayed in converted buildings to hotels around the world, but this site was disappointing. The windows allow poor ventilation, the room was hot all night, (February), there is a fan provided but its only useful if you are used to sleeping under a jet engine(noisy)the doors all slam loudly as appear to be poorly fitted and the carpark area is noisy until late at night, sound insulation seems non existent.
- Stephen (10/5): Value for money and appreciate the helpful staff. - Location is good for the centre of Stoke on Trent. Buses are available for adjacent potteries areas. The station is also walkable. Only thing is no lift to upper floors.
- Stephen (10/5): -
- Delalu (8/5): - Clean and easily accessible I arrived late and could not get hold of the out of hours Porter
I also did not have code to get through main gate. Luckily another guest let me through it was 8pm and i was tired and worried i will not get in. It is a somewhat deserted area
- Christopher (9/5): Great Location - Location / Parking Nothing
- Giselle (8/5): - Facilities all fine. Room was warm. Convenient location to the train station. Clean room. £50 holding fee that's still pending weeks later (messaged about it and they say it's the bank but on principle I think holding fees are a joke). Noisy doors slamming until late at night impeded sleep. Suggest a sign asking guests to close doors thoughtfully if these loud doors are there for fire purposes. Shower too hot (I saw in another review someone mention this and the hotel respond that they should have just asked the night porter — well I was told explicitly upon check in by the restaurant waitress that this was an un-manned hotel with no staff staying there so that's a bit confusing).
- April (1/5): Rude woman who runs the text which is all the help you can get - First of you look at what they say they have starting with bingo and water park invoice provided no literally none of that
And my issue zero on booking.com about the lack of accessibility they rudely keep saying yes it is listed and possibly on their website but to this date no nothing on booking
Also top window was open it’s the style you use a long stick to close
I couldn’t get it to close and due to weather it kept making loud crashing as the wind blew it open and I didn’t want to text the woman who had been rude at 1-3am to get her to send a person so had no choice but leave it open Accessibility there was no information about arriving to no employees and stairs and no elevator once they replied sent someone she just said no only stairs
This wouldn’t have been bad if the woman who runs their text was at all polite about this & I can walk so managed with a heart condition hey my heavy baggage up but if I had arrived from out of town with someone in wheelchair we would have had no place to stay
- John (10/5): -
- Neil Casey (9/5): Nice Pleasant Stay in Good Location - Good location, clean, comfortable, good price and handy having a pub on site. Parking could be explained better and a bit off that pub staff had to come out of their way to check us in. A few issues getting invoice put in business name but eventually resolved thanks to the lovely Sandra.
- lee (8/5): Good night - Food was really good nice regeneration of old building Early check out time
- Marie (3/5): -
- Sally (9/5): Great for a short stay near the station - Huge appartment with 2 double bedrooms each with en suite
Kitchenette between the bedrooms with basic equipment
Quiet Difficult to find the entrance arch in the dark
No table for eating/laptop - a small desk with drawers would have been better than the chest of drawers
- Kevin (9/5): -
- Hans Ove (10/5): - Priset läget Inget
- Tracey (9/5): -
- Mark (7/5): ok - room fine i was in room 203 - it was weird to see the room next door with a couple in the dressing gowns with the door wide open both in the evening and first thing in the morning
- YVONNE (8/5): Great value for money, perfect facilities & close to train station - Facilities Stairs
- Jim (9/5): Ideal and liked the vibe - I liked the Bar, it was relaxing - meal selection was excelent
- joris (7/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): - Very easy check in process, received all information for collecting my key card the day before my visit.
Room was clean, bed was comfortable, couldn't fault it.
Perfect location for the event I was attending at the Quarter at Potbank. The 10am check out!
- christine (9/5): Very good. - Good location for train station to go to other local places. Last night 23rd of October very noisy people in one of the rooms from about 11.00 until about 1am. Very annoying and worrying. Very good.
- Steven (8/5): Comfortable -
- Jan (10/5): -
- Susan (8/5): Good price paid but could improve - The kitchenette and the mirror was well positioned, good shower There was a private function on so was unable to use the bar downstairs and enjoy a drink inside or out as there was no seating for guests which was a letdown, also parking for hotel guests should be free, flannels needed in room and shampoo and conditioner, I found the water from taps didn’t run hot neither, couldn’t put the heating on neither as it went quite cold
- Andrew (8/5): Can't complain really, good location, decent price. - Convenient location at a decent price. Good Shower. Finding the entrance was a little awkward, better signage from the road would have been useful.
- Jack (1/5): -
- Sean (10/5): An absolutely beautiful place which is so comfortable and relaxing. A place I would highly recommen - An amazing location, the property was very comfortable and felt like a home from home.
- Mrshardman (10/5): -
- Tom (10/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): Excellent with definitely book again - Very close to where we was going
- derek (10/5): - Near to my work, train station & town centre. Clean, warm & comfy. Nothing really,
- Dan (9/5): - Great Spode sight, Museum and tea Roos worth a visit
- FL1989 (9/5): Does the job - Het hotel is op loopafstand van het station van Stoke. Enkele pubs om de hoek om te eten en te drinken. Uitstekende prijs/kwaliteit verhouding.
- Simon (10/5): Definitely staying again - Good location and extremely helpful staff Would benefit from some designated parking
- Steven (10/5): -
- Onisa (8/5): -
- Guest (10/5): -
- Kevin (8/5): -
- James (8/5): Good place to stay, easy to get to and parking close by - Good location and parking close by. Plenty of room within the room itself Looking a little tired but nothing major
- Gallimore (9/5): - It is very close to Stoke on Trent train station. Good value for the money Nothing everything was ok
- John (8/5): Nice, convenient, helpful people, better Wed-Sat - Location I wish I’d known before booking that the pub/eatery cafe place isn’t open on Monday and Tuesday
- Stephen (10/5): -
- C (9/5): -
- Clive (10/5): Nice place to stay - Very clean and great location. I was give the wrong code to get back into the car park.
- Ruth (10/5): Clean and comfortable - Clean and comfortable. Easy self check-in, good communication, good location.
- Lukas (8/5): -
- Sanghera (10/5): Great room - Sleep -
- van huizen (9/5): -
- Martin (10/5): Warm, comfortable with great amenities. - Huge room, close to the railway station and shops etc A bit far from the Bet365 stadium, but fine if you’re driving.
- Adriaan (6/5): Stoke on Trent, been there done that. - Personeel zeer vriendelijk.
- Pai (6/5): comfortable - Location was convenient for us reception hours are ultra short, all communications is through email
- Miles (10/5): Exceptional value for money - Just about everything N/A
- Jane (7/5): Meets the need - Location and history A toaster would have been nice .
Better sofa in the living area.
- Alex (9/5): Good slice of history - The room comes with a kettle, fridge, hob, microwave and TV,
Iron and board, hairdryer and a shower in the bathroom.
- John (10/5): -
- Ana (8/5): - It was very clean and very comfortable warm on a very cold night
- Ian (6/5): Potbank - The uniqueness of the hotel is quite different. The room had plenty of features, and I appreciated the fridge to keep drinks cold. Extractor fan in the bathroom was very noisy, bed was a bit uncomfortable, parking at the hotel wasn't mentioned on booking ( Unless I missed it) , £5 per 24 hours.
- sandhyme (10/5): Cheerful apartment with great on site bar -
- Jayne (9/5): -
- Samantha (10/5): -
- BARRy (7/5): -
- Julia (10/5): Loved this place and the staff were excellent - The room was spacious and comfortable.
The receptionist loves the history, hotel and is passionate about Stoke on Trent and that’s important for people visiting.
I made some booboos and the cleaning staff were really helpful.
Handy if you want to visit the cool bar restaurant downstairs Nothing
