Guest Reviews
- Alison (7/5): - Great location, lovely pool Sun lounges need updating and more of them. Many are falling apart with dangerous pieces of wood and nails.
Need to update linen and towels. Everything is grey and many towels have stains.
- Simon (8/5): It was a perfect location and price for my stay. Sevn next door was similar price but nicer rooms. - Pool area was nice. Some Pool Bar drink service would have been good. The rooms and buildings are getting a bit tired and need a upgrade. Mouldy bathrooms and smelly drains. Peeling wallpaper and warm fridges.
- Michelle (10/5): - Our favourite property in Bali, we have stayed here many times N/A
- Andrew (10/5): Loved it here and will be back. - The staff were some of the nicest people I've ever met, absolutely beautiful people from managers to house keeping. The only downside was some of the other guests, but that doesn't take away how good the place is.
- Catherine (10/5): -
- Rob (5/5): Verouderde, vieze bungalow - Het zwembad was prachtig!
- Michele (10/5): Comfortable great location - Location was excellent
Big rooms renovation is nearly finished
Massive refreshing pool Pool bar only opens on request
Lounge pool chairs need updating
- Gina (9/5): Good - Had Indo And Aussie breakfast đ The tiles outside of rooms very slippery. Husband almost had a fall.
- Ric (8/5): Prima prijs kwaliteit verhouding - Goed prijs kwaliteit verhouding. Wel wat achterstallig onderhoud.
Ontbijt is matig. Achterstallig onderhoud, matig ontbijt.
- Roz Romanelli (10/5): - Everything. Comfortable ,spacious, clean, large room, great pool, nice landscaping Liked everuthing
- Belinda (10/5): Quiet and peaceful - Staff are beautiful and friendly close to all the convenience stores, corner bar with footy straight across the road , 2 min walk to beach Nothing
- Janine (7/5): Beautiful staff, great location with small style hotel intimate feel. - Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location. Lovely pool area with a nice intimate feeling that comes with staying in a smaller hotel. Itâs just a little tired. Rooms could do with an upgrade. But great for a budget stay and excellent for small groups.
- Andrea (10/5): -
- Jody (7/5): - I like the location, its peaceful, the rooms are always clean and the grounds neat and tidy, great staff and friendly. The beds are too hard so lack of sleep and it needs updating which they had begun doing on the villas.
- Mcewan (8/5): -
- Brooke (8/5): Amazing, would stay here again! - The location is perfect, only a 10 minute walk from Garlic lane and a 5 minute walk from the beach. Heaps of restaurants and shops near by :)
The hotel is nice and quiet, and really clean. The staff were really friendly as well. The rooms could use a bit of a refresh and the showers do need some work (some minor flooding when in the shower which can easily be fixed). They were doing some updates to the unoccupied rooms so hopefully all get done.
- Kerryn (10/5): - The staff, best pool for access in bali, love the gardens and only 27 rooms around the pool, great location too Need better and more sunbeds
- Peter (8/5): -
- Daniella (10/5): - Staff were lovely and good location.
- Kerryn (10/5): - The staff, the beautiful gardens, and best access in and out of any pool in bali Need better sunbeds
- Hijmering (9/5): Lovely grounds and friendly helpful staff - The staff is exceptional. Canât rate them higher than a 10 otherwise we would. They are not just friendly but also helpful especially if youâre in Bali for the first time like us. Iâm not good with names but guys like Ketut and Danny but the ladies at breakfast as well are good people. The grounds and buildings are lovely and the pool nice and clean. There is always security which makes it safe. Some of the things are showing its age but overall okay. Breakfast is excellent presented and will fill you for the day. The only thing we didnât like is the mattress.
Itâs obviously old and needs replacing. If youâre a back sleeper like my wife youâre okay but a side sleeper like me you will struggle for a good sleep. It wonât stop me from coming back but only for a few days. Not like for 8 days like this time.
- Debbie (10/5): Perfect. Ten outa Ten - Everything lovely small hotel. Beautiful pool. Good room with comfortable bed. Lovely staff and a nice relaxing vibe I liked everything
- Macka (8/5): - The pool
Location is good down the laneway.
Rooms were good
Lady at breakfast was very helpful
- CLEARY (9/5): Love this place - The poor lane leading to this little oasis, deep in the heart of towering concrete, offers a touch of traditional Bali. The grounds at our front door were beautiful, surrounding a very large, deep pool. The rooms are a little tired and in need of some love and attention, but the staff were absolutely wonderful, friendly, helpful, and respectful. GREAT HOME AND WILL RETURN. Leaving
- Mandy (7/5): - The beautiful staff, the friendliness and the lovely gardens
- tracy (4/5): Fair - The staff are great Pillows awful
Sheets not clean
No hand towels no soap
Just so basic for the price
Seating around pool awful
- Eveline (9/5): -
- David Alan (8/5): -
- Doone (8/5): -
- Des (7/5): Good stay, great staff - Itâs a great property, but *needs maintenance and upgrading, I found itâs very tired.
Staff are fantastic, updated and changed room when blocked shower base.
Pool is great, gardens are lovely and well maintained Sorry but it needs some updating maintenance, itâs a little tired.
- Louise (10/5): We had a good stay there and the staff were really lovely. - Location was great and the staff were lovely. It was situated low and therefore flooded in the excessive rain and excavation was required.
- Gauld (7/5): Stay - Location was good spot. Walking distance to beach and shops. The pool was fantastic. The first room we were put into by booking was shocking. We paid more to be upgraded to the bongolow. Which we would stay again.
- Greg (7/5): Booked and paid for double bed, but ended up in a single bed room - Location and staff Rooms are getting old
- Kelly (5/5): - " Mixed bag here. đ Initially given a mouldy room đ - slept with door open! After complaining, got upgraded to a bigger better villa room đ. Grounds are lovely and well-maintained really impressed with the style đł. Location's great, pool's good vibes with Aussies having a blast đ». BUT rooms need serious TLC, especially bathroom cleaning đŹ. 3/5 stars - could be awesome with some fixes." Rooms need care ,and bathroom needs better cleaning
- MonikaSunshine (6/5): -
- Janet (8/5): -
- Max (9/5): - Basic but ok
- Stephen (2/5): Highly unimpressed! Lack of maintenance, lack of cleanliness and outlook from window disappointing - Not a great deal!
Room was not cleaned properly, door to bathroom (Room 22) was severely damaged (as if someone had fallen through it), towel rail in bathroom was broken (and there was nowhere to hang our towels), the seat to the toilet was broken and insufficient distance between WC Suite and the Shower Screen! Pretty much the whole room (staff were good)
- Christina (10/5): -
- Sarah (9/5): Value for money gem in the heart of Legian! - Wonderful location, friendly cheerful staff, the groundkeepers look after the property so well, we met so many people that keep coming back and I can see why! The breakfast was lovely each morning and rooms were cleaned daily. For those reading that breakfast could be more substantial, or things like that pool bar isn't staffed, my friend and I paid $60 a night for the TWO of us, the breakfast was perfect for the price paid, people need to be more reasonable. The pool bar wasn't staffed for a lot of the day but you just walked and found someone, easy. We stayed in the standard room and it was very basic and quite dated, yes. But for $65 it was incredible value.
- Darren (5/5): - Location and staff Pillowcase filled with holes. No extra water given throughout stay
- Sian (2/5): -
- Tarrant (7/5): - Nice staff , good position Rooms a bit dated
- Edward (9/5): Absolutely perfect for a leisure stay but donât count on the wifi - Great pool area. Nice rooms. Friendly staff. Terrible WiFi connection in my room (5). Virtually unusable.
- Aleksandr (6/5): Baaaad - Pool and yard only Nothing to say. Look at the photos (count attach them all). Dirty, bugs, leaking ceilings and walls during rains, they provide open water bottles (insane), no bags in garbage bins, leaking toilet bothering during nights, no proper bed clothes (dirty, torn). There is shortage of sun beds and umbrellas.
- John (7/5): - pool good, staff were friendly breakfast poor choice
Bathroom cracked tiles
Ran out of water twice
- Debby (7/5): - Goede locatie en zeer vriendelijk personeel Het onderhoud kan beter alsook het ontbijt
- Debby (7/5): - De locatie en de kleinschaligheid Onderhoud kan beter en het ontbijt
- McKinnon (10/5): Bali getawy - WE LOVED THE LOCATION,AND THE GROUNDS AROUND THE POOL.
THE BREAKFAST STALL WERE LOVERLY AND VERY HELPFUL,EXSPEALLY WHEN MY HUSBAND NEEDED A DOCTOR THEY RANG ONE FOR US We didnt like there wasnt enough sunbeds
- J S (10/5): Fantastic⊠I only booked for 4 nights and ended up staying 7 nights. Keep Right On đ - Greatest pool Iâve seen⊠location is brilliantâŠthe room was cleaned and clean towels everyday⊠everyone who works there puts there heart in to the hotel.
- Lucie (8/5): Perfect location, very kind staff - The location of the hotel is very convenient as it's close to the airport, to the beach and not far from a main road. We really liked the outside of the hotel, it has beautiful garden, pool, breakfast is served outside. The personnel is very kind. Facility of the room is rather old.
- Michelle (5/5): - Beautiful garden great pool
- Kathryn (10/5): A great location for solo traveler. The staff are very helpful. - Beautifully kept gardens in a quite setting close to restaurants and shopping.
Excellent pool vibe Itâs getting a little tired.
- Denise (9/5): -
- Kathryn (10/5): A relaxing stay, enjoying the pool and close proximity to beach shops and entertainment - The staff, location and pool All positive
- Alison (10/5): Relaxing - The location and staff
- MICHAEL (7/5): Sleep deprived in paradise - The pool and Gardens, location , the staff were always willing to help and very friendly , our veranda and close proximity to the pool The rooms are getting tired and could definitely do with a paint , lamps in room were old and broken, the things my wife and I hated the most were the mattress is old and terribly uncomfortable, the sheets and pillow covers were grey, old and paper thin , the pillows are old and uncomfortable, bedding definitely not up to standard, that will probably put us off staying here again which is a pity because we have been coming here for 20 years
- Lanie (3/5): Loved the pool - Rooms are small all furniture in room was old and damaged bed sheets were very old with stains on them as were towels. Bathroom was not cleaned well at all even while we stayed there would have to replace mats and towels myself bins never emptied either when it rained roof was leaking I could hear the heavy rain dripping onto my ceiling was very worried ceiling would collapse on us
Pool was beautiful the sun beds were very old and damaged as were pool towels very only staff were lovely location was great but sadly they need to fix the place up Rooms are small all furniture in room was old and damaged bed sheets were very old with stains on them as were towels. Bathroom was not cleaned well at all even while we stayed there would have to replace mats and towels myself bins never emptied either when it rained roof was leaking I could hear the heavy rain dripping onto my ceiling was very worried ceiling would collapse on us
- MICHAEL (9/5): Close to heaven - The pool at Sinar Bali is great, our breakfast and service has been fantastic , gardens are not big but beautiful $4.50 AUD Is to expensive for a Bintang, we are in a standard room , I know for a fact these rooms were fully renovated 10 years ago and are now needing a big upgrade or even just some paint , curtains and freshen up the bathrooms
- barry (8/5): -
- ALISON (3/5): Wouldnât stay again - Nice gardens and pool. Good location Rooms need urgent attention. Black mould on walls
- Michelle (8/5): We love the location of this hotel and the gardens and pool. We enjoyed our stay. - We love the location of this hotel. The grounds are lovely and the pool is deep and sunny for most of the day. Rooms around the pool are great and the block is only 2 story so does not shadow the pool. We had 3 superior rooms to accommodate our family. The rooms are lovely however one had hot water so hot it was nearly impossible to shower and another had no hot water at all. There were not enough beach towels so we had to share. The are no hand towels, flannels or tissues in the rooms. Also could also do with a few more pool loungers.
- Sidewaysblonde (7/5): Hidden Gem to relax right in the hustle and bustle of Legian. - This little gem is hidden away in central Legian about a 5min walk or less to the beach. Its quite when in the property and then you walk out into the bustling streets with great restaurants, massages and shopping near by. loved the bungalow being able to walk out straight to the pool. smaller property with an older crowd was lovely and relaxing. The staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful. There were issues with the water while we were there so unable to shower some days. The beds were firm but not too bad. Rooms are dated but didn't bother us as we didn't spend much time in the room.
- Alan Hart (10/5): excellent place to stay, central to the area and is easy to access - the location and the size of the hotel could have some money spent on maintenance
- Kerryn (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Emily (8/5): Super welcoming place, beautiful garden - The staff were amazing, super helpful and made extra efforts to get to know the people staying there. the pool beautiful and clean, great breakfast. Not many rooms meant not quiet and relaxing environment. Eni was super lovely. Beds very comfortable and the balcony over the pool was great. The room had a damp smell from the bathroom and there seemed to be some mould on the roof, but with the windows and door open it helped clear the smell.
- Stephen (8/5): - Location perfect for the area, close to restaurants and shopping.
Staff were great and hotel was nice and quiet
- Potter (9/5): -
- Lyndee (4/5): It was ok - The location was good. The staff very friendly and helpful. The room was run down, the bed uncomfortable. The water was not working on a number of days, I couldnât shower. The breakfast was very basic, I paid for a week of breakfast but only ate once. No laundry service. The towels in the room looked and felt 30 years old with stains and very thin.
- michelle (5/5): We arenât going back⊠- The location
The staff
The pool They could do with some new sheets that arenât grey in colour, the same goes for the white towels .. they need many more pool towels as well as sun loungersâŠ
We didnât have running water for 4 days off and on!!
- Katie (3/5): Disappointing - Great location to the beach Checked in to our 8 night stay at this hotel, on our second night after showering the bathroom completely flooded with worms all in the water. We woke the next morning to find it still flooded, though it would go down over night, we then spoke to reception and they said they would sort it. Went out for the day and came back to the room where the bathroom was filthy and smelt of sewerage. After many times of asking them to sort our room we got moved rooms.
Then came the next problem, the water. In the morning the water would not be working, the taps, shower or flushing the toilet. Every single day of our stay I would go to reception to ask about the water and every day they said they would fix it and they never did. Then it came to getting ready to out for the night and the water still wasnât working. This wasnât a problem in just our room as we spoke to others and they said they had the same problem. I wouldnât recommend staying here if you like showering, brushing your teeth and flushing the toilet.
- Mccutcheon (4/5): - Location and staff Pool bar not good, breakfast was very basic
- Michael (8/5): - Fine
- Michael (10/5): - Good
- Christina (10/5): - Lovely pool, friendly and helpful staff
Great location
- Jan (9/5): geweldig hotel met een goede prijs - De rust en de locatie niks
- Lucia (8/5): Great location in legian - Fantastic pool in a traditional Balinese setting. Budget friendly. Rooms are basic but bed was comfortable. Rooms are basic
- Abbott (8/5): Value for money. Balinese style gardens around the pool are stunning - Very Central
Good Pool
Clean rooms
Large Comfy Bed
- David (5/5): -
- Marcella (8/5): Mooi kleinschalig accomodatie - Mooie kleinschalige accomodatie met een prachtige tuin en heerlijk zwembad!
Ontbijt was goed! Het personeel is super. Allemaal heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De standaard kamers zijn gedateerd en de schoonmaak kan ook veel beter.
- Leanne (5/5): Although the staff are fantastic and this hotel is in a great location, I will not stay here again. - Pool is fantastic. Large, refreshing to swim in and clean.
Hotel is in a fantastic location with lots of cafes and restaurants and the beach all within easy walking distance.
Good sized rooms and air conditioning worked exceptionally well.
Staff are fantastic and will go out of their way to assist you when they can. Housekeeping waking me up on numerous occasions wanting to clean the room at 8.30am. Far too early for guests who are trying to have a break from routine and may like a sleep-in.
Although the staff upgraded me to a better standard of room (thank you again), the room itself, especially the bathroom was filthy dirty. Front door to the room which is a sliding door is exceptionally difficult to open and close.
Quality of bath towels, sheets and pool towels was below an acceptable standard. Fraying edged pool towels and bath towels with the bath towels being a shade of grey as opposed to white. This was also the case with the sheets. Had I known how bad they were, I would have taken my own. I appreciate this is not an expensive hotel to stay at however management really need to review the quality of linen they offer their guests.
- Alison (9/5): - Lovely pool, great quiet location, friendly staff, small resort with only 28 rooms Pool lounges need updating. Room and bathroom was quite small but I was only there to shower and sleep. There are stairs if you book an upstairs room (no lift)
- Trudi (7/5): - Staff, Bathroom
- Kim (7/5): -
- Brendan (10/5): Relaxing - Pool and staff
- Dianne (8/5): -
- Paul (6/5): - We booked a standard room, we moved twice in a matter of hours as the rooms are sub standard and I will not book the standard rooms again, we would have moved to a new hotel if not moved to a standard bungalow on the second night
If you do not want to be disappointed donât book those room types
The standard bungalows are acceptable and the superior rooms are nice
Breakfast was very simple and after 2 weeks got very boring, eggs a sausage and a piece of bacon, fruit and 3 varieties of Asian food over a 3 day period, generally cold
Pool was very nice, sun beds were old and broken and covers need upgrading
Overall we had a good time at the resort and will come back, but only in the standard bungalows or above
It wonât take much to improve the property but needs doing very soon
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Tracy (7/5): Good - Good location, nice staff , breakfast good, pool great Bathroom flooded
- Karina (9/5): Peaceful relaxing and quiet - Beautiful clean pool. The gardens are stunning.
Nice laying around the pool if you can get a deck chair.
The only thing I would suggest is a few more deck chairs Breakfast was average, maybe a choice of continental would be a good option
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff
- Kylee (8/5): Very good -
- Kylee (8/5): Very good -
- Tracy (8/5): Very good -
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (7/5): Oasis - Amazing pool area! Beautiful gardens, quiet oasis away from the hustle and bustle. Friendly staff and okay breakfast for the price. We left at 5am to catch a ferry and the staff packed a simple breakfast for us. Booked 2 rooms next to each other, but the one room had broken air-conditioning, so had to move away. New room had a broken plug and light, very tired looking. Standard rooms very basic. Lounges around pool need replacing, some were broken. Could be exceptional with a facility upgrade.
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Doug (8/5): As usual a relaxing place to stay .A quiet resort with easy access to many restaurants. - Breakfast rated as adequate. Staff were very good and always helped when required. The rooms are starting to age and are in need of updating. The gardens and pool area are kept very clean and tidy.
- Brooke (8/5): - Had some toilet and hot water issues which were quickly fixed by great staff. Required medical care and they organised for me.
Pool is excellent as it gets sun all day. surrounding area has lots of shops and restaurants and is a short walk to the beach.
Staff are very attentive.
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
