Guest Reviews
- Markus (10/5): -
- Susan (9/5): -
- Michelle (8/5): A really comfortable homely hotel where the staff were exceptional. - Lovely staff who looked after me well Nothing
- Paul (9/5): Great central location with excellent food and good value for money - We were pleased to be called by the manager to discuss our requirements prior to arriving. Little hard to find the car park but that’s not the hotels fault. Excellent dinner and breakfast I have paid far more for mediocre meals elsewhere Would prefer a super king or at least a king size bed. Need to add USB charger sockets to bed side plug sockets
- Patricia (9/5): - It was close to the castle. Plenty of parking. Great breakfast. Friendly staff.
- Grant (9/5): - A comfortable hotel. Excellent friendly staff, food and beer. Great location and good parking to rear of premises. A genuine welcoming atmosphere.
- andrew (8/5): Great location in an historic pub. - Great location with the ability to have a nice beer, dinner and breakfast.
- Philip (10/5): Good location - We loved this hotel, easy stroll to the castle, the food was exceptional and the staff wonderful

- AshB_93 (8/5): - Great location, friendly staff, and the breakfast was lovely. The bed was comfy, and everything we needed was in the room. The water pressure wasn't fantastic in our room, but still very much functional.
- David (10/5): Excellent - Like it all. Nothing.
- Liliane (8/5): Calme, propre et service au top ! - Super accueil, chambre confortable et très calme pour un repos idéal ! Rien …
- Joanna (8/5): Very comfy stay in this historic Pembroke hotel - Excellent location and I received a very warm welcome. The staff were lovely and very helpful.
Nice sized room and comfy bed.
Very powerful shower with plenty of hot water.
Good WiFi signal. Breakfast was very nice but it would have been good to have some fresh fruit.
The room especially bathroom look a little dated and maybe could do with a refurb.
- Ann (9/5): Great hotel in fabulous location with excellent food - Great location, really excellent food in the hotel, very clean. We opted for a larger room at the rear which was spacious and lovely in the afternoon sun. Very good breakfast. We were in the area to walk the coast path but would chose to stay here again if in the area.
- Anne (10/5): - Wonderful staff and food excellent Would be good to have option of twin beds. We were in room 23 which was a great room, very sunny and quiet.
- Evans (9/5): Lovely friendly staff, a nice room and great location - Easy to find, central location great for exploring the town & surrounding area Since the mattress was the springiest I've ever come across, the choice of twin beds would have been nice.
- richard (10/5): -
- Disha (9/5): - Everything! Food is one of the best I have had anywhere! Nothing
- Podd (9/5): - Good Nothing
- Guest (9/5): -
- JONATHAN (10/5): the highlight of an otherwise rather windy weekend in West Wales! - Lovely breakfast, friendly staff. Had a nice meal in the restaurant
- Richard (9/5): -
- Mieke (10/5): Heerlijk verblijf in Wales - Mooie sfeervolle kamer, heerlijk ontbijt, ontzettend fijne mensen die er werken. Een gevoel van thuiskomen. Helemaal niets
- Geoffrey (9/5): Would happily use again and recommend - Food excellent, staff very welcoming. Bed could have been a little bigger
- Peter (9/5): Heel prettig en dichtbij het kasteel van Pembroke. - Erg vriendelijke eigenaar die ons veel informatie gaf voor het vervolg van onze reis.
- Gwyn (6/5): Ideal location friendly staff, great food. - Breakfast lovely. Rooms could do with some refurb.Shower would not go warm on last day. I
- Catherine (10/5): The perfect place to stay - It is a beautiful old fashioned pub and hotel with a lovely atmosphere. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. The bedrooms are quiet, warm and comfortable. The food is great. It is the perfect place from which to explore Pembrokeshire.
- Alex (10/5): - Room was Cosy, building was nice, staff were fantastic. Would go back in a heart beat. I didn' stay another night.
- Guy (10/5): - Very friendly staff and the food was the best we've had since arriving in the UK. Delicious and home-made.
- Philip (8/5): -
- Kristin C. (10/5): Perfect inn, perfect stay - Absolutely great property for our 3-night stay in Pembroke. Staff attentive, lovely quiet room, great location (easy walk from train station and 5 minute walk to castle), and a cozy pub/old inn feel. Tony at the bar each night was a super host. We ate all three dinners there and food was terrific, as was breakfast. Made for a great experience in Pembroke. We also rented a car for one day (Silcox Rental - great service!) for jaunt to St David’s and coast. So glad we stayed here
- Marine choupy (10/5): Great ! - The hotel has a lot of charm, the breakfast is great and the staff is absolutely lovely.
- ALAN (8/5): We were well looked after and made to feel welcome. - Very welcoming on arrival. Rooms were well furnished and spotlessly clean Accessing the car park was a bit awkward.
- Mary (9/5): Clean, comfortable rooms, exceptional breakfast. - Spotlessly clean, cosy rooms. Very quiet (we were at the back of the hotel, I don't know about the front). Great shower/water pressure.
Excellent breakfast: great choice of 4 main options (variety of vg/fish/meat) plus condiments/toast.
Lovely friendly, helpful staff.
Decent private car park. The bed was a double, rather than a king, and the springs quite bouncy. If you or your partner moves much, it's quite disturbing for the other person. If this is a problem for you, suggest booking a twin!
Rien
- EBINEZH (10/5): -
- Jens (8/5): -
- William (10/5): - Food is exceptional
Staff are great
Rooms are clean and modern bathrooms
- Julia (10/5): We loved everything about our stay here including the delicious meal in the restaurant. - Great location. The room was big and very comfortable. The staff were very helpful. Nothing
- Eric (9/5): - Room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.
- David (9/5): A comfortable, well-kept, traditional pub/hotel at the heart of Pembroke - My double room was quiet, light and spacious with good views out of the bay window. Stylish, traditional furniture, well decorated with a comfortable double bed. Clean and well kept bathroom. Downstairs has the feel of a traditional comfortable and cosey pub/hotel. Service was friendly and efficient. Well situated in the centre of Pembroke a short walk from the castle. Car parking available at rear. Evening meals were good but hotel rather than pub prices.
- Catherine (10/5): A lovely family-run hotel - It is a beautiful old coaching inn which
feels comfortable, spacious and quiet, yet it is right in the middle of Pembroke. The staff are warm, friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. The beds are comfortable. The hotel is within easy reach of beautiful beaches and coastal walks as well as historic sights.
- David (8/5): A very nice hotel, to which we would willingly return. - Breakfast was plentiful, with a good wide choice.
Room was spotless, and kept that way. Dinners were very good, except that the vegetables failed, with mainly carrots and little else. We agreed with the people on the next table, that the meal left one wanting a little more, even though we do not have large appetites. Vegetables are cheap, and on a £20 meal, they could so easily be more generous and varied, and not cost more than 75p extra to provide.
- Keith (10/5): - All Nothing
- Justin (9/5): clean and comfortable rooms, and helpful staff -
- Sam (9/5): -
- Salter (8/5): Convenient, clean, friendly and helpful hotel. - The staff ere very friendly and lovely. Also helpful telling me what was going on in town. There was nothing I didn’t like. It was perfect for my needs.
- Fiona (10/5): - I would highly recommend a stay here. The owner, Norman, could not be more accommodating and v friendly. The room was clean comfortable and warm. The food was top class. 10/10.
- Errol (8/5): A very comfortable and relaxed couple of days. - The location was perfect, right in the centre of the town with a private car park.. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had asked for quiet rooms and that is what we had. The food we had in the evening was absolutely delicious. The bathroom in our room could have done with a radiator or at least a heated towel rail.
- Glynis (9/5): Good location - Location, comfortable room & parking. Near Pembroke Castle & the river.
- Catherine (10/5): Great place to stay - It is a warm, welcoming pub hotel, old-fashioned in the best possible ways. The food is great, the staff are friendly and super friendly, the rooms are quiet and comfortable. I stay here 3 times a year and love it.
- Billy (9/5): - Missed breakfast because it was only served until 09.00. Location is perfect. Breakfast should be served until 10-10.30.
- john (10/5): - Friendly Parking…. Finding it was difficult
- Catherine (8/5): Cheery comfortable Pub with good food - Lovely cheery welcome from the gentleman at reception. On site car parking - very convenient in this old town. Location fantastic little more than 100m from the castle outside the front door and great views at the back across the countryside. All the staff were charming, cheery and chatty. Dinner was a high standard of pub grub - very enjoyable accompanied by well kept real ale. Breakfast - I had the full Welsh - also very good and enjoyable So, I think a lot of the decor and fittings date from the 1970s, and while there has been some refurbishment and it is all very bright and clean, it can't avoid looking a little bit tired in places. But well fitted out, comfy bed and top marks for a good bright central light fitting
- Iwan (9/5): Very comfortable hotel in the centre of Pembroke and not expensive - Conveniently located in the centre of Pembroke in close proximity to the castle. N/A
- Robert (8/5): -
- Chris (8/5): -
- Genine (8/5): Lovely hotel in excellent location. - Good location with onsite parking. Very clean and lovely comfortable bedroom. Everything was good although the restaurant was a little expensive. Excellent good though. Pudding very expensive.
- Jürg (9/5): -
- Kelly (9/5): Very comfortable hotel in Pembroke - This is a charming old hotel in a great location right across from Pembroke Castle. It is lovely inside with several nice spaces for dining. The food here is very good- a cut above most anything else we had while in Wales. Wonderful breakfast. Every person here was very friendly and welcoming. only thing was that our room- nicely appointed- was in the back of the hotel next to the housekeeping station and the door to the car park. It was very noisy during the day.
- Celine (7/5): - The fact its near the ferry ...
Great food
Private car park
Friendly staff .. No help with cases offered up a narrow stairs ...
- Neil (9/5): - Friendly staff, good selection of food available at reasonable prices, private car park was a added bonus
- Catherine (10/5): Great Value - I have stayed here many times. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is a perfect base for exploring Pembrokeshire. The food is great and the beds are comfortable.
- Mick (9/5): -
- Kenneth (10/5): Historic and very comfortable. - Very close to the castle in a historical building. Very nice pub and restaurant. Very friendly staff and easy on-site parking in back. Excellent breakfast included. nothing
- Perkin (8/5): -
- Karen (8/5): -
- Dominic (10/5): Cozy, traditional, nice - Friendly staff, good rooms and quiet! -
- Stuart (9/5): Would recommend to anyone wanting a central location in Pembroke with great food and a friendly team. - Excellent food and a friendly team. The Cawl (Stew) was really good. My bed was a bit soft for my liking, but that’s a personal thing, so not a negative.
- Ocean Crest Marine (8/5): -
- Margaret (10/5): - Large room, good amenities, excellent meals (dinner and breakfast) and the staff were great. Thank you Norman for writing out your suggestions for our next day’s sightseeing!
- Millington (9/5): Now a hidden gem in Pembroke. - Room was airy and comfortable, facilities very good. The restaurant was a great improvement over what had been before (had an extended stay here in 2004-5). Staff very friendly and very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, using it as a base for touring the Pembrokeshire coastline. Was delighted to see the improvements over 20 years' ago.
One to put BACK onto the list! Nothing springs to mind.
- James (8/5): Good - Good food staff were amateurish
- Rudolf (9/5): - Gemütlicher, Geschichtsträchtiger Ort
- Scholes (10/5): -
- Christopher (8/5): visit to Pembroke for a party - Excellent position in town and friendly staff. First class cooking for dinner, which was excellent too. the rooms are somewhat basic and old fashioned, but comfortable
- Stephen (9/5): - Lovely central, local pub & hotel.
Very friendly.
- Nicola (9/5): - I arrived very wet after rainy coast path walk. The room was warm and had thermostat on radiator so I could dry all wet clothes. The food was fabulous in particular the Welsh cawl and the fruit platter for breakfast. A very friendly and welcoming place to stay with coastal bus stop just outside. Many thanks Nothing
- Kevin (8/5): -
- Chantal (9/5): mooie locatie vlak tegenover Pembroke Castle - ontbijt, vriendelijk personeel, prima kamer, goede parkeerplek niets
- Tony (9/5): In brief, relaxing and restorative, with walks swims and general spaciousness of the landscape - Friendly atmosphere, although the young man serving was on his first breakfast, he was graceful and charming AND did the job.
I liked the dining room and its feeling of history . Laughter and relaxed feeling emanating from kitchen was relaxing, the purpose of the visit following difficult life event. Liked the presence and conviviality of Adrian and Tony, didn’t catch others names, equally receptive.
Thanks We were happy with it, nothing to add
- David (9/5): -
- Philip (10/5): - Breakfasts and dinner were all great. Especially the evening meals. The parking spaces are tight to get into, but there again it is secure and in the hotel grounds at the rear of the hotel.
- GREENWAY (7/5): - Great location. Comfy room Silence in the dining room. No choice of fruit for breakfast.
- Nancy (10/5): Vacation - Beautiful place. Delicious food. Friendly helpful staff. Perfect location for the castle.
- Vinyl Grecian (7/5): - Location very close to castle. Free parking. Clean room. Good size bathroom. Friendly, young staff (Kacey, Mia and Jason). Bedroom and hotel upstairs in need of a revamp.
- David (8/5): -
- rebecca (10/5): - The breakfast was INCREDIBLE! And the staff were super friendly. The bed was dead comfy too. Really nice, big room. Lovely stay Water pressure in the shower was a bit weak so it took a bit of time to wash my hair
- Simone (8/5): - Spacious room with ensuite, good breakfast and friendly staff. Perfect location with bus stop right in front of the hotel. Room was at the back, so quiet at night.
- Marion (9/5): -
- owen (9/5): -
- Joerg (9/5): Traditionsreiches Hotel in historischem Anwesen - Ruhige, zentrale Lage, zuvorkommender Besitzer, Parkplatz, tolles Frühstück
- Barza (10/5): - Super kind and helpful staff. Very clean and nice hotel. Comfortable and memorable overall.
- Angela (4/5): - I booked a family room for two adults and one 9 year old, when we arrived they said we do not do family rooms, he did put in a z bed but charged me £10 per night, and when i went to pay the bill it was not the price when i booked the room, it cost me over £400 and the holiday to start with should have only been £350, so i was not happy,
- O'Brien (10/5): A lovely and relaxing stay - The pub was on the centre of the town and easily accessible
