- Rachel (9/5): Both stays were really lovely, we look forward to returning and thoroughly recommend the Greyhound. - The Greyhound is a really lovely inn, set in the countryside, but fairly close to Taunton. There is ample parking.
The rooms, we have stayed twice and stayed in two rooms, are really lovely, especially Room 1. It is lovely to have complimentary water and caramel bars in the fridge. Everywhere is beautifully clean and the rooms are serviced daily.
Breakfast was beautiful, with a varied menu and cooked to order, we recommend the omelettes and Eggs Benedict. The evening meals were great too.
Staff were all lovely and went the extra mile. The stairs up to the room were a bit steep, do ask for help with luggage.

- Nick (9/5): It was a stop off en-route to Cornwall and was absolutely perfect. We had booked it blind and it was just what we wanted - Recently renovation of the main building and creation of rooms in a former skittle alley(!) are excellent. The food was excellent and the staff were lovely. Nothing.

Breakfast was good, could ave had more of a continental selection. I had the omelette form the hot options which was nice. The room was clean and tidy and the space was well used, In the shower the grout had mould which is easily fixed with bleach spray and a sonic scrubber.
- Norman (9/5): We would stay there again, happily. - Excellent
- Michael (10/5): The Perfect Oasis For Going To The Racing - We were on our first trip to Taunton for the 30th December Raceday. The Greyhound is perfectly placed for the course and was a really comfortable, homely country pub with a Dinner and Breakfast (included) Menu for all tastes and superbly cooked. I was able to thank the chef when we booked out.
Our Room (No 2) was brilliant and so so comfortable once we had sorted out the windows and the heating. The lack of traffic noise was such a bonus to us.
Any time we are back at Taunton the Greyhound is a great value for Money No Brainer! OK! Everything is top rated so these are observations. When shown the room guests could probably do with a quick instruction how to seal the windows from the cold air.
The staff were brilliant but there needed to be more staff working especially post racedays as everyone piled in after the racing.
Notably on the morning of the 31st December as we were booking out, the one staff member was distracted by taking down the Christmas decorations and preparing for New Year's Eve as well as serving breakfast. There was a big rush to give us our bill and get it paid before we had time to even look at and check it!
- Parkway (10/5): - The breakfast was great and the service was very attentive. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. Nothing. All was good.
- Gilesick (9/5): -
- Alyson (9/5): -
- Alistair (9/5): -
- David (10/5): Best stay I've had of many when visiting Taunton - The quality, high standards and character, cleanliness and a caring team So minimal...hardly worth mentioning but. No bottled coke/ diet coke at the bar. I would have preferred the option of brighter lighting in the room
- richard (9/5): Excellent pub grub and rooms somewhat isolated location. - Cosy Pub feel with good tasty pub fayre
Excellent sized bedrooms
Good internet Shower water pressure
V small television given size of room
- rosie (9/5): Fairly good value for money, good food and friendly service. Room decor needs updating - Great location, fantastic parking, wonderful staff and good food at reasonable prices. Breakfast was swift to the table and good. The room needed redecorating, the carpet was not fitted properly and made it feel shabby, there was too much noise between the rooms.
- AURELIE (9/5): -
- Michael (8/5): A most enjoyable and comfortable stay - Friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast Bedside light too dim to read by
- Laura (10/5): Wonderful! - Lovely spotless accommodation. Great food and wine!
Karen at breakfast was amazing!! Went above and beyond.
So wonderful, friendly and happy - made our stay!
- jason (10/5): Excellent property and will definitely stay again on our way to Cornwall. - Very nice and comfortable, staff very polite and professional. Breakfast very good. Also had an evening meal which was outstanding. Room’s very nice and good value for money. Nothing no faults at all.
- Trudie (10/5): - Everything about our stay was perfect. The staff, the location, the breakfasts and the evening meals were all amazing. Our room was warm, quiet and comfortable. We will definitely try to book here again when we come to this location.
- Paul (9/5): Very acceptable - Good
Lovely village setting
- Paul (9/5): Great hosts, accomodation and evening meals / breakfast. A little out of the way but good for walks - Very welcoming staff that looked after us throughout our stay. Excellent evening meal options and great food. Beautiful tasty breakfast. The location was a fair way from anywhere else, about 5-6 miles from Taunton. It was quite wet when we were there and the car park is not surfaced making it quite messy getting into vehicles.
- Robert (9/5): -
- Diane (9/5): -
- Anthony (10/5): -
- Claire (10/5): - Friendly bar staff. Good food and choice of drinks
- Sara (8/5): - Lovely location and comfortable rooms Could do with more comfortable chairs in the bar area for relaxing before and after dinner. Menu could be more varied. Second stay here within 3 months and the menu choice was the same.

- Sue (8/5): One night stop over. - Comfortable well presented country inn
Good food. Attentive staff. Nothing.
- Peter (8/5): Only a 1 night stay but it was perfect (Nr M5) would stay again on our way down to the west country - Lovely staff, great food in the pub and breakfast (included) Like so many hotel rooms it seems to have been designed by a man (and i'm a man lol). Needs good lighting near a mirror and socket so my wife can do her makeup & hair, plus more hooks in the bathroom for towels wash bags etc
- peter (10/5): -

- Louisa (10/5): lovely pub, great food, friendly and efficient staff -
- Fay (10/5): This was a true English pub experience for us.accomodation and amazingly good food. Loved the Sunday roast meals - Friendly staff and great food.
- Kinsella (10/5): Beautiful place, charming and friendly and we will definitely return! - Beautiful ambiance with attention to detail in decoration and quality of bedding and toiletries etc. All of the staff were so welcoming and helpful, especially with my daughter’s allergies. Our room must have been very close to what we presume was a hornets nest with several hornets trying to get into our room. We therefore had to keep the window closed. Fortunately there was a fan in the room to cool the room down.
- Jason (10/5): Brilliant, fun and welcoming - Everything. Room was brilliant and the staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing
- watson (9/5): Great old style country pub with friendly staff and great room. - Old style country pub with a lot of character. Room was great. Large and clean. Maybe a little remote but that did not worry us as we ate at the pub. Very nice food
- Catherine (8/5): - Beautiful building, friendly and welcoming staff, nice ambience. Good breakfast.
- Bernard (7/5): Stayed before but not again - Nice bath with plenty of hot water , cosy dining area in the bar breakfast was cooked to order but slow to arrive We had a room on the front which was very noisy with passing traffic the double glazing did not help, breakfast service was slow 20 minutes to dock bacon and eggs ( one came out hard ) since the owner was not in that morning seemed a bit slap happy
- Carl (8/5): -
- phil (3/5): - Great bar area and beers Noise and sleeping areas
- Rachel (10/5): Excellent Inn, with delicious food. Best place to stay in Taunton by far. - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Grey hound inn, we ate dinner there every evening and enjoyed every meal. The Deluxe rooms were beautiful, although could get noisy late at night and early mornings with deliveries as the car park was directly outside our room. This however didn’t ruin our stay and I would definitely recommend here for anyone staying in the area. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to our needs, which made our stay pleasant. There were plenty of choice on the menu and every meal we have was delicious, so credit to the chefs. There was nothing we really didn’t like about our stay,.
- Steven (10/5): -
- nicholas (9/5): Large room, comfortable bed and great food. - Large room, easy parking, nice pub food. Friendly staff Nothing to not like
- Graham (9/5): Quiet country pub with good service and excellent food. - Comfortable country pub/hotel with 7 rooms serving excellent evening meals and superb individually cooked breakfast (cold options available). One real ale on pump. plenty of free parking available for our 5 night stay while attending Cricket festival. Room 4 above kitchen subject to some fan noise. Secondary glazing rendered this acceptable.
- Kevin (10/5): Great stay, welcoming, comfortable and relaxing. - This was a lovely venue, very welcoming and very comfortable. If you like period pubs/inns then you will like it here. Breakfast was great and set us up for the day. We were passing through and only stopped for one night but would like to go back for a weekend and spend a bit more time there. Nothing, everything was just fine.
- Iain (9/5): Excellent choice of accommodation with good meal options - Quaint and inviting with friendly staff Nothing
- Jessica (10/5): Beautiful rooms in a beautiful inn with wonderful friendly service and delicious breakfast. - Such a beautiful inn with beautifully appointed rooms. We were tired from travelling so didn't venture into the pub for dinner but did enjoy a couple of drinks in the courtyard in the afternoon. The room was quiet during the evening while we rested.
We were welcomed in to the dining area in the morning for a wonderful breakfast which was included. We were able to choose individual items to make up a hot breakfast for our 4 year old without any problem. Staff were so lovely and accommodating. Inside the inn itself is just so beautiful. We're from Australia and it is such a treat to stay in such a beautiful building.
- Monicah (9/5): Brilliant welcoming pub. - Well run pub, with very efficient welcoming staff. Good range of food at both breakfast and dinner. Having recently had a hip replacement I was delighted at the "easy access" toilets in the pub - and what a great name. Room very comfortable - loved the mattress. We stayed in the Pitch room in the former skittles alley which was only up 4 or 5 steps. We'd love to go back if we need somewhere to stay on the way to the west country. Not really, but if picky, I'd like instructions on how to use the shower - it had two different shower heads, plus a shelf or the equivalent to put toiletries on.
- Karen (9/5): Superb -
- S (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (8/5): Nice stop over - would return. - Convenient stop over for a trip to Cornwall.
Typical 'Pub' accommodation. Nice clean rooms. Steep narrow stairs to rooms in main building.
Rooms in former coach-house annex were nice an spacious.
Nice food. Nothing
- Jeanette (10/5): Lovely pub with a good restaurant. - Nice decor, pretty building Bit over priced for pub accommodation
- Amanda (8/5): Very good -
- Kenneth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dawn (7/5): Nice room, comfortable beds, limited menu - No vegan options, but they did cater to dairy-free, which was appreciated. The continental buffet was limited but service for cooked food was responsive and staff were good. As above, there is a limited choice on the breakfast and dinner menu for vegetarians/vegans. The service was good, and the food was cooked well.
- Jayne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nick (9/5): Great -
- Stephen (3/5): Very poor - Breakfast was less than average It's definitely overpriced. Window wouldn't open because of broken sash cord. Menu at night was poor. The only local dish(belly pork in cider) which is what I wanted was not available. I ordered fish and chips instead and when it came was like a minnow. I did not eat . Over priced room, meal and wine.
