• Aggie (10/5): - Brovad is a must go to if you are taking a trip to Uganda. It's a beautiful get away from the bustle of the city. It's not a beach as it's on a lake, but the surroundings will make you believe you are. The staff are amazing, kind, thoughtful and will do their best to ensure you have the best experience. Always check in with the receptionist about a problem; don't just grumble, they will always have a solution. The weekends are busy, and if you enjoy a lively vibe, the weekend is a good option; otherwise, the weekdays are so tranquil. I will be back soon Brovad!

• Linda (10/5): - Tolle Anlage, viele Bäume, mehrere Terrassen, Beachbar und schöner Swimmingpool (wichtig da man im See nicht baden sollte). Das Hotel organisiert den Transfer zur Fähre - klappt problemlos. Essen ist immer als Buffet mit täglich wechselnder Auswahl. Besonders gut hat uns das Abendessen im Garten mit Barbecue und das anschließende Lagerfeuer am Strand gefallen. Man kann verschiedene Aktivitäten über das Hotel buchen. Wir haben die Wanderung durch den Wald gemacht die sehr zum empfehlen ist.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Lodge confortable avec une belle vue sur le lac - Excellent séjour dans cet endroit très beau installé sur les rives du lac Victoria. Les suites sont installées à proximité du rivage avec une très belle vue depuis les fenêtres et le balcon. Très grande salle de bain avec douche et baignoire. Pour bien profiter du lac, ne ratez pas la petite croisière au coucher du soleil avec musique et ambiance. Concernant les repas misez davantage sur les plats proposés à la carte plutôt que le buffet. Petit bémol, en ce qui concerne l’écoresponsabilité : les serviettes et les savons entamés sont changés tous les jours. Internet n’est pas disponible partout dans les chambres. A noter qu’il existe une navette directe assurée par l’hôtel par bateau rapide, depuis Entebbe

• John (10/5): - A hidden gem this one is, set by lake Victoria. I was blown away by the sheer amount of greenery in it’s well tended gardens and then the peace and quiet around this property has to be experienced for one to believe. Although I must point out that Sunday to Thursday will be my choice of days for my next visit as I like it quiet. The weekend Friday and Saturday brings in quite a bit of party people. The room and linen were very clean. The pool was very clean too. The staff were very polite and always available to help whenever needed. Overall I give it 10/10. I will definitely visit again in the near future
• Verified traveler (8/5): Lækkert hotel - men med mange insekter! - Vi havde 3 dejlige overnatninger på Brovad Sands Lodge. Der er rigtig mange gode ting at sige om dette sted. Du bliver hentet ved færgen af deres gratis transfer. Personalet på hotellet byder dig herefter virkelig velkommen, når du ankommer. Indretningen er virkelig lækker og smuk - både i lobbyområde, spiseområde, poolområde og værelserne. Vi boede i suiten, og det var virkelig næsten overdådige forhold - stort siddearrangement, stor seng, kæmpe badeværelse med moderne badekar. Udsigten var fænomenal - vi lå første række til vandet og havde det vildeste udkig fra sengen. Maden i restauranten er også rimelig god. Vi følte os generelt godt tilpas! Der er dog også nogle mere negative ting at sige, som også fyldte ret meget. Der er insekter, firben mm. overalt! Har aldrig set så mange i mit liv. Både i restauranten, i udeområderne, på værelserne - og der er ikke myggenet. Vi måtte to gange spørge, om vi kunne låne insektspray og spraye på vores badeværelse og i soveværelset. Derudover, så havde vi tit svært ved at fange en tjener i restauranten for at bestille vores aftensmad (de ville helst have, at man bestilte maden i forvejen til et bestemt tidspunkt). Dette var også lidt irriterende. Slutteligt, så synes jeg, at man fra hotellets side bør nævne, at man som gæst ikke bør bade - eller i hvert fald på eget ansvar - i Lake Victoria, da man især i regntiden har risiko for at få sneglefeber. Dette blev ikke nævnt en eneste gang - vi blev ligefrem opfordret til at tage en dukkert.
• Dwight (2/5): - Power went out in the night and when it came back on the tv ended up waking me up. As well when ordering through the menu the waitor advised me and my spouse that the buffet was free for those staying at the hotel, only for when I checked out I had a outstanding bill of 80,000. Train your staff better , because of the risk of missing the ferry back to kampala I agreed to pay 55,000 But I still feel ripped off. Will never book here or stay at Brovad even if it was for free .

• Andrew (8/5): - The staff at Brovad Sands are excellent. They were courteous, helpful and always smiled. The hotel site was really lovely. It felt safe and relaxed. My only negative observation would be that the room i was first in had problems. The bath tap was disintegrating and was leaking from multiple places. During a downpour one night, the floor inside the room was soaked because the door at the front and back of the property let water in. I paid to upgrade to another chalet. I would like to have been given a concession on the price due to the inconvenience caused to me but that wasn't given. Anyway, the good outweighed the bad by far so I'd recommend this hotel as a place to stay.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - No doubt, is the best place to stay in Kalangala, amazing lake view, beautiful green areas, friendly and profesional staff, average food and drinks, however one of the best tilapia I have eaten in Uganda and very nice comfortable rooms. Bad notes: 1. Wifi signal is so bad, I was using my personal data all the time. 2. Rooms need to observe on maintenance, specially a lot of bulbs were fuse, fumigation, and more deep cleaning.

• Bengt (8/5): Nice place in lake Victoria, with swimmingpool. - We were a group of 11 persons travelling around Uganda and want to stay overnight in a better hotel. It is a really nice place, but service can be a little bit better. But if you are very clear to the staf, they understand. The ferry from Kalangala to Entebbe takes only 8 vehicles, so do reservation in advance! I can recommend Brovad Sands, it´s a really nice place!

• Dr E C (6/5): It was ok... - This was our last night of a self drive trip across Uganda. The staff were friendly and the place is pretty with good views over the lake. Check-in was slow and our room smelled damp and had no mosquito net. We wanted to use the pool but it was dirty. The bar area and our porch was loud because of teens playing loud music. We stayed on a Friday night and we think weekenders caused the hotel to be very busy and noisy, especially at dinner where there was a big queue for the buffet. Limited, but tasty vegetarian options. We wanted a chill the next day, but instead, reception called and woke us up at 7am to ask how we were going to pay. Breakfast was barely warm and felt like the previous night's leftovers. Overall, the stay was ok. I think we had high expectations for the hotel based on previous reviews...
• Vikas (2/5): - Whole 2 day stay was terrible in view of resort. We booked for lake facing front cottage and they asked to someone else even after promising to us. We were so tired to a argue with them still they wasted more than half an hour at reception and then finally we have to adjust one night in another room. Even they lied their manager is out of town and then (??)manager appeared within 15 minutes Services were to slow, even after calling multiple times. Broken glass door, broken handles and no locks in bathroom. Electricity switches with open wires. Lizards rolling all around in bathrooms. No mantainance of swings on beach. Swimming pool is very small even for a family, and located in a isolated corner of lodge just adjacent to forest and Apes sitting on its corner. Chef doesn't know to cook any vegetarian items and had a disgusting pizza on my birthday. Finally they promised us for free candle light dinner on our birthday and next day they handed over the bill for that food. Such a miscommunication between their head office in Kampala and main property. Only good thing was BEAUTIFUL NATURE & BEACH. And closeness to nature with sounds of different species of birds. Crystal clear water.
• Willi (6/5): Quiet Resort - The effort to reach the island makes not sense. 3.5 hours for one trip. It starts to get boring after 3 days. The resort offers no activities. The staff is friendly and try to help you to every occasion. The food is delicious. All in all, 3 days are enough for this short trip if not the long arrival and departure would be.
