• Patrick (9/5): One of the best places to stay in Nikko. Recommend. - Rooms were very spacious and beds comfortable. Location is perfect. Staff very friendly and helpful. There was incense smell in the corridors, which I assume is to deter bugs. Onsen a little run down but comfortable. We were expecting a better traditional Japanese breakfast but the pictures on the site are not reflective of what was available. For the price it was reasonable, but the experience was not what we were looking forward to.

Een fijne uitvalsbasis om wandelingen te maken en Nikko te verkennen zonder de drukte. De kamers zijn zeer ruim en comfortabel, de onsen is prettig en zowel het ontbijt als het uitgebreide diner zijn uitstekend. Er is ook een wasmachine in het hotel, erg handig wanneer je langer door Japan reist. Het personeel is uitzonderlijk vriendelijk en behulpzaam - niets is te veel gevraagd. Een aanrader.

The interior of the restaurant could do with some more refined touches, make it more welcoming. The bar also need a refurbish. Make it more appealing and professional. • Sonja 14 (9/5): Wir verbrachten ein schönes Wochenende und hatten einen angenehmen Aufenthalt 🌞 - Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig, mit Balkon und Seeblick. Das Bad ist klein bietet aber genug Abstellfläche, einzig das Licht im Bad könnte etwas heller sein. Ein ganz großes Lob dem Service und der Küche, sie waren alles sehr 🩷lich, freundlich und hilfsbereit, dafür 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Wir hatten ein japanisches Frühstück, aber auch Muffins, kleine Zimtschnecken und helles Gebäck. Das Abendessen war ein mehrgängiges japanisches Menü und wurde von den netten Damen im Service bestens beschreiben und erklärt. Das Hotel ist zwar schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, hat aber auch einen japanischen Charme. Nicht zu vergessen das aufmerksame Management, vielen Dank dafür.

• EREZ (10/5): Excellent service, outstanding food, and a comfortable room made this a wonderful and memorable stay - The hotel was excellent. The staff were kind and helpful, assisting us with planning our itinerary and giving us useful tips and recommendations. The dinner was one of the best meals we had and a truly wonderful experience. It was not a buffet, but a carefully prepared set menu that included local dishes, with clear explanations about each course. If there was anything you could not eat, they gladly offered alternatives, which was greatly appreciated. The room was large, spacious, and very well equipped, both in the bathroom and throughout the room. The only drawback was the distance from the city center, but the many advantages far outweighed this minor inconvenience.

The staff was great and met all of our needs. The location of the hotel was perfect. There were many sites within walking distance and the bus service worked out great for other locations. The only thing that I disliked was the overhead lighting in the room. The dimmer switch never got it a comfortable level. An additional lamp near the couch might have been nice.

• Ian (7/5): Good place to stay to visit Nikko and the shrines. - Staff were friendly, professional and made sure we had everything we needed. They were also very careful to ensure their menu was to your liking which was excellent. Lack of a lift when we were on the 4th floor plus the hotel needs a refurb as some places look a little dated.

I like the onsen too as it has an indoor and outdoor onsen even though it was not a big one. It suits me! There is no lift and hence, it can be difficult to bring your luggage to the lobby for check-out. But I believe you could ask for assistance.

• AUDREY (6/5): Hôtel familial, personnel aimable, mais pas luxueux comme présenté et rapport qualité prix mauvais. - Le personnel très accueillant et attentif. Le repas du soir très copieux et délicieux (poisson incroyable, tofu typique de Nikko). Le onsen authentique, souffre bien présent. Les odeurs dans la chambre (humidité moisissure) masquées par de l’encens qui brûle dans le couloir. Odeur des draps. Nécessite de mettre le déshumidificateur et le chauffage à fond en période hivernale. Les photos qui ne reflètent pas la réalité (plateforme cachée) et la salle de bain « cage plastique » dans la chambre. Peu luxueux. La lumière de la chambre agressive (blanc opératoire). Aucun fruit au petit déjeuner, aucun cinammon roll ni croissant (pas comme sur la photo). Attention les magasins et restaurants autour ferment à 16h.

• Elisabeth (10/5): Up For A Relaxing Adventure - The hotel is located right across from Lake Chūzenji which makes for a gorgeous view and a little quieter than the bustling town accessible by bus! The fall is also walkable distance if that is of interest too. The staff and hotel manager were so sweet and welcoming. I enjoyed the variety of foods we had for our meals — my most favorite had to be the pudding in the morning. At the end of our stay, the hotel manger was also extremely kind enough to offer a group of us a ride back down to the station, which we all greatly appreciated! I highly recommend staying at Hatago Nagomi! Quite a relaxing and beautiful stay and area! Lastly, on a side note and kind of unrelated, definitely don’t forget to check the weather hahah. But if you forget, there’s a store nearby for the necessities to bundle up. Not necessarily the property, but if you have motion sickness, the drive up and down is winding but manageable.

• Carla (10/5): - A very enjoyable stay in a beautiful location. The hotel is very well situated, just a few minutes’ walk from Kegon Falls and right in front of the lake. Unfortunately, we were unlucky with the weather, as it snowed heavily and visibility was extremely poor, so we could not really see either the lake or the waterfall. Still, the location itself is excellent. The hotel was comfortable, the room was spacious and very clean, and the onsen was excellent. The staff were extremely kind and welcoming throughout our stay. Both breakfast and dinner were very traditional and gave us a great ryokan-style experience. Overall, despite the weather, it was a very pleasant stay and a lovely way to experience this area.

La habitación era bastante grande, con un balconcito con vista al lago. Se puede circular por todo el hotel con el piyama que ellos dan. Es precioso el piyama y trataré de conseguir uno así en Tokio. La cena y el desayuno son abundantes. La habitación estaba en el tercer piso y no tienen ascensor. Pero el personal sube las valijas. Je recommande vivement cet établissement aux personnes qui apprécient les balades en pleine nature, les abords du lac Chuzenji sont beaux et très vivants (mon amie a vu des biches et des singes sur la route !) et si on monte jusqu'au lac Yunoko et on peut profiter de splendides panoramas sur les différentes montagnes. Par ailleurs, en arrivant, on bénéficie de tout un kit pour un soin du visage de bon augure. Merci beaucoup ! 😊🙏 Le Onsen en lui-même est un peu petit et n'offre pas de vue.

• Tu (10/5): 非常推荐家庭出游！ - 酒店的地理位置很不错，no.28 站下来，就在门口。 酒店就在湖边，出门走走非常舒适。离 visit center 也很近，假如有徒步的打算可以提前去咨询。 我住在4楼，房间里的窗是双层的且可以打开，我有很严重的鼻炎，能够通风对我非常重要。 在日光的两天让我意犹未尽，住了两天真的不够！ 没有不满意的。

• JC (9/5): Fabulous lakeside getaway - The staff here are gems. Everyone is extremely attentive and friendly. Although I can speak some Japanese, I was pleasantly surprised by the multi-ethnic staff, many of whom were fluent in English, but presented the very best "omotenashi" you expect in Japan. The room was generously sized with a good view of the lake, and the location couldn't be much better as you just have to cross a road to reach the lakeside. The buffet breakfast was simple but delicious and the dinners were closer to gourmet experiences with excellent menu rotation and superb food choices. One of us doesn't like raw food and they made sure to accommodate that every time. Finally, the onsen and "rotenburo" were great (if a little small), particularly the latter which had the "yu no hana" that is typical of unadulterated (sulphurous) hot springs - very restorative! The room heater was a bit noisy at night and the pillows could have been better, but I would happily stay there again, and again!

She even gave us recommendations of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The room was very clean and really spacious. The price was affordable and also came with free onsen and beverages at the lobby. I left my charger at the property and they replied really quick to return it to me. The breakfast was also very affordable and great tasting.
