• Claudette (8/5): You need a bungalow for a kitchen - House of Garden is opposite a road on which there are rice fields. It's about 5 km from any eating places. We had a room in the owners house. The bedroom and bathroom are very large, with hot running water. The living room is small and a very uncomfortable vinyl futons about 4foot away from a TV that only has thai public channels. Not a nice space to stay too long in. There is an outdoor furniture set that looks towards an unkempt garden and large fence, no rice field view. Unfortunately the pool was not operational for our 11night stay, which we were told only after we had paid. So it's worth checking. As we were staying 11 nights we really needed a kitchen. Unless you are in a bungalow please note that there is no kitchen. The kitchen belongs to the owner and it is only out of politeness that she shares it at all. You will need to travel three times a day to get food. Also the host is polite but if you would require guidance or support, she is not that kind of host.
• JUAN MANUEL (8/5): - Zona rura muy bonita y muy tranquila. Rodeada de arrozales y plantaciones. Muy cerca a un pueblo, al que puedes ir andando, con su mercado local nada turístico. Amabilidad y flexibilidad del personal. Instalaciones y equipamientos muy correctos. Nada a resaltar.
• Petra (9/5): Superb - Really nice to have a separate living room. Rooms are big and clean. Bed is really nice and the shower is good. Lady was really helpful and even let us use her kitchen. Terrain is beautiful. It's a bit far from everything, you need a motorbike or car.
• Olivia (10/5): Exceptional - AMAZING. Cannot recommend this place enough. The owners were so attentive and welcoming, the facilities were great. The pictures online don't do the place justice, I was so pleasantly surprised when we arrived over how much space and how nice everything was. The pool was also tucked away and felt very private and was so nice to spend some time cooling off in. Was easy to book grabs or transport to and from the centre too. If I'm ever back in Chiang Rai I will be booking to stay again!

This family run accommodation is a find as both Noni and her daughter are perfect hosts and go out of their way to help with any issues or help you might need. We loved so much we wanted to stay longer so book another 3 nights Nothing

• Adi (10/5): Perfect place just 20 min from the city - Everything was perfect. Great value for money. We extended our stay for another week. Noyna, the host, is wonderful. The room is big and new. Definitely would stay here again. -
• Lenka (8/5): Very good - The house was really spacious and has separate bathroom for every bedroom. In the kitchen you could find every equipment to prepare the food. The nature around the accommodation is beautiful and peaceful. The house is located further from the centre of Chiang Rai but we do not have problem to book a Grab or get a takeout from Grabfood. Pool area was really nice. There was loose sink tap in one of the bathroom and the main negative experience was at the check out when they do not have the information what was in the minibar at our arrival and wanted from us money for beer bottles which we bought in the 7/11 and do not take from minibar... At the end we do not pay anything above that one bottle what we drink from minibar, however this experience was very unpleasant. Also in the leaflet it was stated that the water bottle is provided free of charge, but we did not get any.
• James (10/5): We had a very nice stay... - Great quiet place with pool Nice views of mountains and grounds were kept up nicely with trees and flowers. Treated like family by hosts. Big rooms with kitchen and huge bathrooms. Huge porch too. I was there early and she let me move in early.
• George (8/5): A lovely stay in the countryside near Wiang Chai, Chiang Rai. Would stay again without hesitation! - House of Garden is located on a quiet road a little way out of Wiang Chai, which is about 20 mins from Chiang Rai. The area is lovely and mostly rural. We had a beautiful tropical view from the balcony of our house. We stayed for two nights, I could happily have stayed longer, but unfortunately our itinerary didn't allow for it. The house was a perfect base to explore the area around Chiang Rai, including the various temples. The kids loved the pool and spent most of their time there. The hosts were charming and super helpful, they helped us carry our bags from the car and provided bottled water. They were lovely and a pleasure to deal with. There is a 7/11 in Wiang Chai which sells the essentials and is about a 3 minute drive away. The beds were a little on the hard side, but this is quite normal for Thailand. The WiFi wasn't super strong but this didn't cause me a problem as I was able to tether on 4G. Feels like nitpicking but there isn't an obvious sign on the road, so we passed by a couple of times before we understood where the property is. • Payal (7/5): Comfy, away from the city, Stay - The stay was not what is seen in the picture but similar to what was promised. The stay was comfortable and surroundings were beautiful. Lina, the host, was very helpful in getting us the private taxi for city tour in a very reasonable price. Little secluded, out of the city so getting public transport was difficult. Windows were not getting locked (we somehow locked it), anyone could have come in. Since we managed to lock the window, we were able to sleep peacefully till then we were but worried!
• Marc (8/5): Great spot for those who wish to enjoy peace and quiet. - The accommodation is spacious and the surroundings are fabulous. Cleaning could be better organised.
• Paul (8/5): Stay was ok - Room was spacious and reasonably clean . The location was very quiet and peaceful, but about 10km outside of town, so you needed a car or motorbike. After we checked in we only saw the host once very briefly in the two days we were there. When it was time to check out we waited at the reception desk for about 20 minutes and rang the bell many times, but no one answered. Eventually we left the key and a note on the desk. Even though the room was clean there were mouse droppings in the bedroom cupboard and on the bathroom window sill . A previous guest had left a container of food in the fridge that was mouldy, so it was obvious that the fridge had not been checked or cleaned. The shower head was broken and difficult to use and the water was very slow to drain away.
• Laurent (10/5): Peaceful and cheap - The host, Noina, has created a little peace of paradise here. If you look for spotless and large premises, flawless service and peaceful nights, then look no further. I really recommend this place and will certainly come back to House of Garden. I had to leave 😉
• Panos (10/5): Idyllic peaceful stay to relax and to explore the souroundings! - Beautiful place very good located if you don’t want to be in the city centre. Rooms are spacious situated in a beautiful garden with a small swimming pool. The owner Ms. Nunoi is always there to fulfil all your wishes with a smile. I will definitely come back! There is nothing not to like about.
