The only thing that made us really uncomfortable was that, upon arrival, the staff asked for our credit card. We had to hand it over to them, and they copied all the information into their system, including the CVV code. We had already paid for the accommodation in advance. We did not receive any confirmation that the card details were stored or how they would be handled. If someone at the reception wanted to misuse the information, they easily could. I think there are better ways for accommodation providers to protect themselves. I have spent more than four months in total in Iceland, and I have never experienced this anywhere else.

- Neto (2/5): Horrible, intrusive and less empaty - To check out, go on my way, and forget that I had ever been there. I booked this accommodation during my stay in Iceland, but by mistake I chose the wrong date. I tried to change it through the property and Booking.com, but it was not possible, so I had to change my whole route and drive from Höfn just to check in. I arrived late, tired, and after following the coordinates on Booking.com, I first ended up at the wrong property nearby. When I finally reached the accommodation, the room code did not work, so I had to go to reception with all my bags and equipment. At check-in, I was asked to provide my full credit/debit card details, including the security code, or leave a 40,000 ISK deposit. Even though I was told this was written in the booking conditions but I was with a unrefundeble resevatioin, I found it very uncomfortable and intrusive, especially because the stay had already been paid through Booking.com. The room experience was also disappointing. There was no cutlery available, so I could not even properly prepare a simple instant noodle meal after a long and exhausting day. The atmosphere the next morning felt very heavy and unwelcoming, although the breakfast itself was simple but okay. The final issue happened when someone from the cleaning staff opened my room door while I was still inside, which made me feel very uncomfortable. Overall, it was a very frustrating and unpleasant experience. I would not stay there again, and I would not recommend it. In my opinion, the success of any accommodation depends on the care, attention, and respect it gives to its guests.

- Lyran (5/5): A mediocre hotel in the middle of nowhere. - The hotel is located not too far from the main road. We have stayed in 6 different hotels during out trip to Iceland. This hotel had the worse dining experience of them all. Breakfast was very poor with low quality food options. Virtually no fresh fruit. Bread quality was poor. Cheese was all dairy free. No coffee machine in breakfast only mediocre drip coffee. We also had dinner and lunch in the hotel (we were stuck there due to the storm) and they were both very low quality. They are also very stingy with their bread during lunch and dinner. You have to pay a hefty price just to get a couple of small bread rolls (and you get only 2). I think the hotel could improve also the way they deal with guests in situations like ours. We were stuck in the hotel during a severe weather storm and were not able to leave on our scheduled departure the day following our arrival as all roads coming into or out of the hotel were going to be closed early morning after our arrival. While the hotel was flexible and allowed us to stay an extra night at the same rate (which was nice) they could have done more. They did not offer us the possibility to stay in the room later the day of our original scheduled departure until such time as the roads would reopen (we either had to leave the room at 11:00 or we needed to pay for an extra day). This was despite the fact that the hotel clearly had plenty available rooms as no new guests were able to arrive to the hotel on that day due to the road closures. Upon arrival, when they told us that we will not be able to leave the hotel as planned the following day due to the anticipated road closure, they also did not allow us to cancel our room and refund us (we were thinking to go a night earlier to our next destination to escape the road closures planned for the following day). The hotel also did very little to make the time we were stuck in the hotel more pleasurable. They offered nothing in terms of entertainment, or any special attention to all the guests that were stuck all day in their rooms.

Camera giusta per 3 persone. Abbiamo visto la nostra prima aurora. Aggiungerei più scelta a colazione come uova strapazzate e becon. La nostra stanza era vicina alla porta d'ingresso che sbatteva e faceva vibrare la nostra porta.

The free breakfast was also great, lots of options. I liked the remoteness of the location. We were surrounded by fields and there was even two rams wandering around (it made me a little nervous when they would stare). The room was very clean and quiet. Everything is ground floor so you might get people walking by your window. The drain in the shower had a weird smell so we covered it with a towel and kept the door closed which helped get the smell out of the main room.

- Cristina (10/5): Prefect stop in between drives and super Aurora Bolearis! - Super comfortable and easy to reach for our night stop in between drives. The room was big and very nice bathroom which looked new. The room has very big windows so we weeee able to keep an eye on the possibility of seeing Aurora Bolearis and to our surprise we saw the most beautiful Aurora Bolearis at 10:40pm. In less than a minute we were out of the building watching the show! I don’t want to forget mentioning the beautiful p nature so rounding the hotel and don’t leaving without visiting the stunning waterfall next to the hotel, you will spot it as you drive in but it’s walkable and worth seing in the morning before you leave. Good breakfast which was included. Nothing.
