La leggenda del materasso rigido (fino a metterci sotto una tavola) andava bene in tempi remoti. Sul matrimoniale basterebbe mettere un topper per renderlo più morbido e togliere la noiosissima divisione che c'è fra i due materassi singoli.

Хороший завтрак, без лишних понтов, но всё привычное есть и хорошего качества. В описании бассейн, а по факту бассейн почти не бассейн, длиной метров 6 и шириной в узком месте 1.8 метра. Не понравилось, что СПА совсем небольшой и надо предварительно записываться, хотя по факту я всегда попадал в СПА когда мне хотелось. Расстраивает дискриминация детей, после 16 им посещение СПА запрещено. По мне лучше дискриминировать взрослых, пусть потерпят присутствие детей.

Excellent location right in the center of the village with all the shopping and restaurants near by and with a lift right across the street. Also a bunch of ski rentals. Rooms were of decent size and nicely decorated. The shower in the bathroom was fantastic and so was the after ski spa experience. And the food was absolutely phenomenal. Dinners a bit on the pricey side but so worth it. If I wanted to be absolutely picky, the temperature in the room could not really be regulated and the room was a bit too hot at night. Also, I was slightly disappointed that the amazing cakes they had in the dinner dessert buffet were not featured at breakfast and the pastries they offered were not of comparable quality. Overall, still a 10 and we would absolutely stay again.

DeuceCheshire (10/5): Thoroughly Recommended - Stayed here with friends for our annual skiing holiday and definitely made the right choice. First and foremost, it`s location to the lifts is superb, nothing more to add on that point really. The ski cellar / boot room is on the lower ground floor, access to street level is by a rather quirky lift. Our room was directly facing the Matterhorn, what a view to wake up to every morning. Hotel and rooms are very clean, great all round service. The restaurant is superb, comprehensive choice at breakfast and wonderful food at dinner with an excellent wine list as well. Overall, a great stay and would definitely return.

But what really stands out is how exceptionally the staff looked after us and the food ! Everyone was so welcoming, warm and friendly, it made us feel very relaxed and at home. The food and wine were unbelievably good. We stayed half board and enjoyed every single breakfast and dinner. What made a particular difference to us was how brilliantly the staff adapted the menu for our son who is severely allergic to milk. We were given full confidence that they took the allergy very seriously and we were able to relax and enjoy mealtimes which is normally hard to do when eating out. Further, the chef created specially adapted milk free dishes - including the most delicious special deserts giving him the best dining experience of his life. Hugest thanks to Michaeli, Riccardo and all of the team for giving us all an unforgettable week - we’ll be back. Highly highly recommend.

The bathroom was excellent. The wellness facilities were ok and the staff was extremely kind and helpful. Breakfast was nice but kinda repetitive. Also no sliced cheese was a first. The limited time access to the spa makes a wellness experience rather stressful. Other that these details is was a really nice facility.

JohnScott48 (10/5): Another great stay at the Excelsior-Planet - After 21 visits over 18 years, I am running out of superlatives to describe this hotel. This year, we made two visits, one with our American family in February and later as a couple in March. The warmth of the welcome from all the staff, combined with the amazing cuisine never ceases to amaze me. On both visits, we stayed in a very spacious and recently refurbished junior suite with a view of the Matterhorn. The skiing convenience is a big advantage. The Cretaz lifts are less than 100m while the hotel offers a free shuttle to the gondola, with its direct access to Plan Maison, at the bottom of the village. Then there is the spa area (the booking system via reception avoids overcrowding) and a comfortable lounge, complete with log fire and friendly bar service. The balance of professionalism and friendliness really sets this hotel apart. For a skiing holiday, it is the perfect place to stay.

There's nothing to fault, the location is perfect, the rooms are spacious and well designed, the dinner each night is heavenly and to top it all off, the staff are some of the best we've come across!! If you're going on a skiing holiday to Cervinia, book at this hotel!

Friendly, helpful staff at the reception, and in the restaurant the delightful and energetic Martina and Pepe made our week of fine dining fun and enjoyable with their attentive and congenial service. The food was astounding every night - amazing flavours and clever presentation. The mezzanine mini suite was comfortable, with a great shower, big bath and good beds. Masses of storage too, and an amazing view to greet every morning. The ski room was great too, with our own locker allocated. We’d have no hesitation returning.

With a fantastic proximity to the main chairlift lift it is easy to be on the first lift every morning and then being welcomed back every day by a fantastic reception staff it is amazing. The hotel then has an amazing restaurant with a fantastic selection of meals every night with an amazing restaurant team, there is also an amazing wine menu with two fantastic sommeliers in Matteo and Ricardo. We couldn’t recommend the hotel more and wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Quite pricy - location is spot on - The hotel was lovely and in a great location so would recommend even if it was on the pricy side it did tick a lot of boxes. Like most ski hotels there seems to be an 'old school grandma theme' to the decor on the ground floor. The bedrooms are contemporary and really great however as a destination place to chill and unwind - they really do need to invest in their ground floor lobby and lounge area. It's an amazing location and they have the space but the decor is 30 years out of date downstairs and not a place you would want to come back to and unwind after a day's skiing. We ate out and came back to the room but did not spend any time downstairs.

Very hard to find anything at all that was lack - A fantastic hotel with wonderful staff who were without exception, incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is perfectly located about 30 m from a chair lift. The food is also excellent. We were surprised every day by breadth of choice and quality of the food on offer which was not just Alpine fare but also sushi seafood steaks et cetera et cetera. A really varied menu with enough choices that there was always something you wanted. The rooms are also nice although if I was being hyper critical, the bathrooms et cetera are a little bit dated - for example the shower is inside the bath which is something I am personally not very keen on. It’s also nice to stay in a hotel that is actually in the town and a short walk from the shops, supermarket bars et cetera et cetera. I would really highly recommend this hotel and if we come back to Cervinia we will definitely stay there again.

Rooms are comfortable, clean and warm - lots of towels and products. Location is ideal, a short walk to Cretaz lift. Really hope to return next year.
419cliffs (10/5): Great Hotel, excellent service - We have just returned from a week stay booked via Crystal Ski. This was our first time skiing in Italy and we had a great time. Hotel is in a great location, just a short walk to the Cretaz lift. The Junior Suite room we had was spacious and comfortable with a nice view of the Matterhorn. The ski room in the basement had a nice drying facility to warm boots each morning. The spa area is modest but equiped well enough. Breakfast was great but the evening meal was even more impressive, with a 5 course menu of fine dining quality and presentation. However, the most impressive quality of this hotel was the staff. Everyone from reception to bar staff through to Ernesto, Irene and the restaurant team (special mention to Martina) were very friendly and provided excellent service. Overall, we had a great holiday and would not hesitate to return. Highly recommended.
JohnScott48 (10/5): Another superb experience. - We have stayed at the Excelsior Planet almost every year since 2007. This year we made two visits, one with three generations of our family and later as a couple. The quality of the service and food has always been outstandingly good and this year was no exception. The rooms are warm and comfortable - I recommend the junior suites if you like plenty of space. After a day's skiing, we always spent time in the spa area. Once refreshed, the lounge with its log fire and bar service was ideal for a relaxing pre-dinner drink. Children are very welcome, even the youngest (our grandson was 18 months old). When it comes to skiing convenience, it is as good as gets. It is a very short walk to the Cretaz lifts, less than 100m, while the ski hire shop and ski school office are just opposite the lifts. We have had ski holidays in many other places, both in Europe and further afield and really wouldn't go anywhere else.
MrSteve-1 (8/5): Good hotel, near a ski lift - I'd recommend staying half board as the food is generally excellent. There is a good choice each night, and they will cater for fussy children. The staff are great, especially Irene in the restaurant, but all work hard and make you feel very welcome. Special mention for the wine waiter who offered some great wines to try out. I don't think our room was as modern as some, but was still perfectly adequate although was dimly lit. We did have a view of the Matterhorn which was a plus. If skiing you are 2mins easy walk to the Cretaz chairlift, which was never that busy. The main gondola is too far to walk, so you can use the hotel minibus, however I found it to be unreliable having waited 15mins for it to move one day and not even start till 9am on another (lifts open 8.30) Overall, very good hotel, well situated and staff and food are excellent. Would stay again. Thank you for making my stay a pleasurable one.
debras427 (10/5): Excellent ski hotel - Don’t understand previous reviews and so glad we discounted them when we chose this hotel. Firstly our flight was delayed so we missed dinner, the hotel served dinner in our room which was tasty and fresh. Breakfast was buffet style and excellent. Lots of hot and cold choices. The scrambled eggs were refreshed often and lovely and buttery. So many pastries, fresh breads, yoghurts, fruit, drinks, etc. you won’t go into the slopes feeling hungry. Coffee and tea was served to the table, waiting staff were always on hand to order fresh. Dinner is a great experience, we didn’t manage to eat all 5 courses on any night because the food was so plentiful but more importantly delicious and beautifully presented. Very attentive staff who were very friendly, special mention to Irene and Thomas. We stayed in a Junior Suite overlooking the Matterhorn (and car park but for us it was quiet). Not in one of the recently refurbished rooms but comfortable and clean. Fresh towels supplied twice daily. Lift to ski/boot room so no steep slope or stairs to navigate with tired legs at the end of the day. Short walk to the chair lift. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return.

From the owner organising an emergency dentist to the guy who brought the car round having dug it out of the snow and put the snow chains on (!) was really impressive. The food in the restaurant was of a extremely high standard and at a very reasonable price. The staff in the restaurant and behind the bar were incredibly friendly, attentive and professional.

The service Was excellent.. the rooms may need a bit of updating but we found them very comfortable and cosy. It is a fantastic ski hotel with great food. Only complaint is they serve peanuts with drinks etc . We have a son with a severe peanut allergy .. he wasn’t with us but we would not be able to stay there with him. Otherwise we thought it was perfect for us.
