• Dougie (9/5): Apart from the cigarette smell , we had a most enjoyable stay . - The staff , location and breakfast were all excellent We are non smokers , and on arrival it smelt as though the previous occupant had been a smoker . It took a few hours of the windows open to get rid of the smell

• Rita (8/5): - Leckeres Frühstück, voll ausgestattete Ferienwohnung, leckeres und frisch zubereitetes Frühstück Das Parken ist in der gesamten Kenneth Street und auch auf dem benachbarten Parkplatz (über Nacht) nicht gestattet. Gegenüber des B&B ist Halteverbot, was das Aus- und Einladen des Gepäcks erschwert. Das hatte ich nach der Beschreibung so nicht erwartet. Die Auskunft der Mitarbeiterin, die uns bei der Ankunft willkommen hieß, war diesbezüglich nicht hilfreich. Man kann zumindest in der Nebensaison ganz gut eine Querstraße weiter rechts parken. Diese muss man von hinten anfahren, da es sich um eine Einbahnstraße handelt.

And the best breakfast menu I have ever seen offered by any B&B or hotel. Because my room was on the top floor with a velux window, the noise of the wind and rain was clearly audible at night (but it happened to be partially windy).

• Hilde (9/5): Flott BB! - Flotte rom, deilig dusj, meget velutstyrt felles kjøkken med en liten stue i tilknytning. Frokosten var god (noe syntes vi var litt rart, men alt var vellaget). Ville uten tvil booket her igjen, og skal også tilbake snart :D En sterk parfymert duft på rommet.
• Traveller (7/5): - Owner/ receptionist made sure she was there to check us in despite it being after 9pm. Showed us around. But self check in would have been fine at that time of night. Breakfast has interesting options. The pumpkin, haluami item tasted lovely. We left early to catch ferry and we received a packed breakfast when we asked for one. Stagg are friendly and helpful Too expensive for a basic guesthouse down an alley from the ferry. Not self checkin, despite owner (?) not living on property. A family member ( old man) does live on the property, upstairs and you will bump into him on the doorstep where he smokes and wants to make conversation but I didn't understand what he was saying. Plus, when you are rushing to be on time for the ferry and he is very insistent, won't move out of the doorway, where from? And wants to speak about ancestry and more. Someone was moving about most of the night above our room which was unsettling. Think it was the older gentleman who lives there. Floor was uneven in bathroom and I have balance issues so it messed with my balance. No lift. Communal fridge.......

• Kenneth (10/5): - Lovely rooms and en suite. Very clean and welcoming. Bed and bed linen a very high standard. Great attention to detail with Harris tweed side lights and cushions. Staff so warm and friendly at breakfast and poached eggs cooked to perfection. We had an excellent stay and would recommend Stornoway B&b 👌 We recognise that shower tray is supposed to be non slip but unfortunately is not. Strongly recommended non slip shower mat.

• Ann-marie (4/5): Wouldn't stay there again - Accommodation was nice and clean. Nice big room. Facilities were good. We were given a takeaway breakfast as we were leaving on the early ferry. What was supplied was very poor. I didn't eat anything I was given. For what we paid for the accommodation we could have been offered something better.

Auch die Lage war prima; man konnte zu Fuß in die Innenstadt und hatte doch abends seine Ruhe in der Seitenstraße, in der das BNB lag. Das Frühstück war phänomenal! Es gibt nichts, was mir nicht gefallen hätte! Ich fahre gerne wieder dorthin

We were only informed about parking after we had booked and only discovered our room was across the road further down the street after we’d arrived. In the end this was not a problem but in poor weather could well have been.

It was impeccably clean, the staff was attentive and friendly, the breakfast was made to order and very hearty, and it was decorated beautifully with the local textiles. Very comfortable and cozy. I could have stayed much longer, and can't wait to come back!

It's great when you come across a place that runs a good business but treats you like a friend. Breakfast was outstanding as was the breakfast service. Unfortunately I didn't get the lad's name but young, dark haired... He's the fella. Birgitta.....what a champion.....so welcoming and friendly and really helped me put with solutions and pointed me where to pick up essentials I needed when I hastily packed all my work material in car yet stupidly forgot my bag with most of my personal essentials. 1000% recommend here if visiting Stornoway or travelling round these beautiful islands. Safe, friendly and welcoming with plenty local charm.

• Sheryl (10/5): Stornoway Bed and Breakfast - This bed and breakfast is just minutes from the ferry dock. It is very clean and spacious. We stayed in room 9 which is across the street from the main building on the top floor. We even had a great view of the castle from our two windows. There is even a washer/dryer for guest to use. They even supplied the soap. Breakfast was delicious. They really out do themselves at this B&B. I would definitely stay here again!

• John (8/5): - We had a good sleep in the comfortable king size bed. The place is unassuming from the outside as front door is a step off the sidewalk/pavement. However, the inside has been renovated and has a separate dining room and sitting room. Very comfortable for a B&B. To find parking on side street in the afternoon was challenging as location is literally one block from centre of Stornoway. Evening parking was easier. Really liked the convenience of not needing to drive and walk to shops, restaurants and harbour.

The water heater was very noisy when you were sitting downstairs relaxing. The upstairs floor was very noisy with creaking floor boards when going downstairs to use the bathroom. It always woke up the one sleeping.

I loved everything about this B&B — the room was spotless and cozy, the breakfast was absolutely delicious, but above all, it was Birgitta’s warmth, hospitality, and kindness that made this stay truly special. She went out of her way to make me feel welcome and helped with everything I needed. I would come back without a second thought!
