• Mai-Britt (9/5): Hyggeligt, imødekommende dejligt sted. Anbefales - Virkelig hyggeligt og dejligt sted. Rent, pænt og velholdt. Ligger dejligt med skøn udsigt. Let at komme til og byen er så fin at gå tur i. Værten er utrolig sød og imødekommende - vil gøre rigtig meget for at alt er fint. Rigtig god til at fortælle om området og Færøerne generelt. Vi var der til tirsdags middagen og hun er en aldeles glimrende kok- dejlig mad. Morgenmaden er frisk, lækker, nybagt brød. Meget indbydende. Stor anbefaling lidt smal seng

• martin (10/5): Es war grandios und kommen sehr gerne wieder! - Die Möbel waren sehr stilvoll eingerichtet und war Ebenerdige alles sehr gut zu erreichen. Es hat nichts gegeben was uns nicht gefallen hätte an der Unterkunft.

• Sabine Papencort (9/5): Gastfreundschaft pur! - Mein Sohn und ich waren eine Woche lang zu Gast bei Lilja und Johann. Die beiden haben uns sehr in ihrem gemütlichen Haus willkommen geheißen. Das Frühstück war richtig klasse. Passend dazu gab es viele schöne Gespräche mit unseren Gastgebern und Menschen aus aller Welt. Unser Zimmer hatte Fußbodenheizung und war sehr geräumig. Die Schuhe zieht man im Vorraum aus, genauso wie im Haupthaus vor dem Frühstück. Das ist hier einfach so.

Especially the breakfast was very delicious and it was very nice to have an indoor whirlpool after a cold and windy hiking day. Everything was very clean and we had a lot of towels which was very nice. Overall, it was perfect stay and we can definitely recommend it!

Ich bin ein alter (Zelt)Cam - Die Unterkunft ist in einem Privathaus und daher sehr persönlich. Die Betreiberin ist sehr angenehm, herzlich und bereitet ein sehr ansprechendes und variables Frühstück mit verschiedenen lokalen Spezialitäten zu. Ich war das zweite mal für 10 Tage dort und vermutlich nicht das letzte mal.

Atmosféra byla přátelská a měli jsme možnost poznat i ostatní hosty z celého světa. Cítili jsme se jako doma. Je to odtud blízko na nejznámější atrakce a turistiky. Toto ubytování doporučuji všemi 10.

The location and bedroom was stunning. Everything was so beautifully decorated. The jacuzzi is wonderful. There could have been a mini fridge.

Le petit-déjeuner et le repas (en option) du mardi soir étaient délicieux. En résumé, je recommande vivement.

Les super petits déjeuners pris avec d'autres hôtes cela était très sympathique de pouvoir échanger. La chambre superbe, très bonne literie et grande propreté. Quand nous devions partir trop tôt donc sans petit déjeuner Lilia nous préparait nos pique niques délicieux. Toutes ces belles intentions étaient un plaisir.
• Christoph (10/5): Besonderes Erlebnis in mitten der Färöer Inseln durch eine sehr persönliche Gastfreundschaft. - Die persönliche Begrüßung und die einheimischen Tipps sowie Geschichten über die Färöer Inseln haben es zu einem einmaliges Erlebnis gemacht. Die Gastgeberin hat ein tolles Frühstück zubereitet und die Spezialitäten erklärt. Ein besonderes Highlight war ein Cold-Plunge in den Atlantik, was die Übernachtung zu einem unvergessenen Ereignis machte. Tolle Erfahrung und eine Überraschung die den Urlaub noch unvergessener gemacht hat.

• Majicou (10/5): Just like staying with a true Faroese family! - What makes this place great is the family living in it: great host, a lovable cat and a very cozy accommodation - if you are looking for a more authentic, local experience this is a good place to stay. The house is in a small neighborhood with plenty of parking options both nearby and outside. Both the bathroom and the room were wide and full of amenities and furniture you can use. Breakfast was very good and there's a small common area with a sofa if don't want to chill out alone in your room. WiFi, television and a booklet with information available - and if you need extra help, ask the host! The only thing I have been not crazy about was the lack of a controllable radiator in the room: the house have centralized heating under the floor which is great for overall temperature (and savings, too!) but if you are cold like me or if you want to dry out your stuff you will struggle as the floor temperature is not enough for either.

She was so helpful: sharing her knowledge and warmth so freely, great to have local tips for exploring! A gorgeous breakfast, with the food explained by Lilja which was so interesting. I stayed in the single room and while it was small it had everything I needed. There is a lovely riverside walk not too far from the house as well. Lovely area. Would highly recommend! Nothing. Jeden Morgen gab es ein wunderbares Frühstück mit selbstgmachten Sachen und reichlich Auswahl. Wir hatten das einfache Doppelzimmer oben mit Gemeinschaftsbad unten. Es hat wunderbar geklappt. Alles war sauber. Man wohnt zusammen mit den Gastgebern. Im ersten Moment war der Gedanke etwas ungewohnt, da ich die Beschreibung nicht richtig gelesen hatte. Aber es hat uns während unseres gesamten Aufenthaltes nie gestört. Lieben Dank an Lilja und Jóhann!

The location, the home, the room, the meals (definitely do the dinner if offered), the conversations, insight into Faroese life, history, and culture, and even the after dinner and pre breakfast swims in the hide tide, and be greeted by her cat when we got back. Comfy, clean, very pretty, exactly as shown in pictures and well located. Breakfast really good! Lilja& Johan are one of the most kind hosts I've ever met! I felt right at home! Bear in mind it's a homestay, not a serviced hotel! So remain respectful and treat everything as it was your own! • Dmytro (6/5): Fine for a one-day stay. - The location is perfect for exploring the northern islands. The view from the room was incredible as well. The breakfast while basic was fulfilling and sufficient. The host definitely tries to make you feel comfortable. While kitchen is not mentioned in the facilities, not having any access to any sort of place where one can get water, wash fruits, etc is disappointing. This is a rather basic need and constantly asking the host to give us water is just too much hustle. The host seems to be a very nice and kind lady but there’s simply too much attention to you and there’s pretty much no privacy at all. Simply walking in the house makes a lot of noise. No way of preparing food, you have to eat out.

• Ian (10/5): A wonderful choice where the hospitality is second to none - This is an exceptional place to stay because of where it is located within the archipelago and the effort the host makes to ensure her guests have a great time. The breakfasts are incredible because when you stay for several nights she varies what is provided and what she serves up is plentiful, refilling the table regularly. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Do make sure you sign up for the Thursday walk, soup and wine. Benjamin is the tour guide and gives a fantastic insight into life in the Islands. Lilja is then then the hostess who excels on your return from the walk. Do not miss the opportunity to be part of it. Nothing 😊

Its location was excellent and with the Faroes fantastic roads nowhere was more then a safe, easy drive away. Facilities were good at the home and the host prepared a lovely breakfast ever morning. She was also engaging and keen to give true 'Faroe islands experience', giving recommendations and helping plan itineraries for each day. The host also prepared a traditional fish dinner on one evening and sharing this with other visitors led to a very memorable evening of great food and conversation. It goes without saying that the Faroe islands are stunningly beautiful and it was a privilege to experience them with such great accommodation and host. Nothing

• Margaret (9/5): Superb - I had the smaller room and it was all I needed, a bed, a desk and even an in room sink so I didn't have to go downstairs and wait to brush my teeth. A beautiful breakfast spread was provided by the Host each morning which was fantastic considering Leirvik is a tiny town with no shops. The acommodation was a great location to explore the Northern Islands as well. Very hospitable hosts and another lovely house pet. Only complaint was the pillow not having much volume or support but could be easily folded to fix this.

• Callie (10/5): Home away from home in Leirvík - visitHOMES is a wonderful home base for exploring Eysturoy (and the other islands if you aren't worried about the tunnel tolls!) Staying here is more like staying with a relative. We had great chats over a lovely breakfast, plus opportunities to get to know our host and more about Faroese culture. You really are being invited into Lilja's home rather than a hotel. The bathroom was shared, but that was never a problem for us. Our room had a beautiful view over the neighborhood and across the water.

• Currymayo (10/5): Recommended! - Great appartement, with a nice batch en spacious room. The host is very friendly and the breakfast is great as well! We liked that Leirvik is quite central, so its easy to visit several places in the Faeroe Islands from there.

In the morning a rich breakfast, with daily changing local specialties - and interesting conversations. Lilja has lots of tips and you can learn a lot about the people and life of Faroe from her.
