Guest Reviews
- Shruti (10/5): - Helpful staff
- Tia (8/5): - Parking was safe, safe excellent, room good would recommend
- Ian (10/5): Food is wonderful - Rooms are fine
But the reason for staying is the restaurant.
The food is brilliant
You will not find better
- Verified traveler (6/5): A decent hotel for a short stay - We stayed here for one night as we wanted to stay in that location. The room was quite warm. We asked for more milk and we were attended to straight away and given extra coffee and biscuits too. It is a shame that a hotel with a restaurant does not offer breakfast. We stayed there previously, again due to the location, and had not realised that you could not get breakfast that time. We made other arrangements this time, Restaurant area is nice with tables outside but did not appear to be very much used. We did not eat in this time as we were meeting a friend out for a meal but the previous time had had a nice meal at the restaurant. I feel a lot more could be done to the hotel to make it more appealing.
- MARIA RELIZA (8/5): - The room is clean and tidy. However, the room felt hot and we asked for electric fan but they cannot provide it. We have to open our window but it was too noisy because of the passing vehicle. The bed is also noisy and squeaky.
- Christine (8/5): - Wonderful Italian restaurant downstairs
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cleanliness - Upon getting into bed we discovered hair on the bedsheets long dark hair, and there was rubbish behind the bedside table and behind the desk/dressing table and also in the bedside drawer. Unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures
- Rita (10/5): - The room was very clean and spacious. Very good on budget stay.
- Sindy (6/5): - The shower was not working correctly.
It would go cold all of a sudden.
- Claire (10/5): - It was lovely the staff are so friendly
- Christopher (6/5): - Room was ok, but nothing special.
- Paige (8/5): - A lot of cars had parked over 2 bays because the bays are so small.
It was awkward to get into the hotel through the back of restaurant, right where the food comes out.
- Stenna (10/5): - While visiting family i stayed at a very quiet hotel Lucarelli
The staff there was very welcoming and helpful i had
A very relaxing time.
I would like to thank all the staff for there hospitality
And making me feel so welcome
- jenifer (8/5): Great food & hotel stay -
I had a very comfortable stay. The staff were very welcoming. Especially Francessca the manager.
Beautiful meal in the restaurant highly recommend
Close to shops and amenities.
Will definitely stay here again.
- Michael (10/5): Nice break - Ideally situated 15 minutes walk to town centre and has an Italian restaurant downstairs
- andrew (8/5): - Great for a night stay away on business , restaurant looked nice for a meal before bed
- John (8/5): - The room was clean but very basic and the bed was uncomfortable. Location was perfect for my trip
- Nicholas (8/5): Business stay - Great little hotel.
Room was comfortable and a nice size .
We had a twin room so plenty of room for two.
We worked nights and they managed to keep it quite for our late wake up.
There is a restaurant if required.
Also wirhin 10 mins there is a shopping centre with plenty of eating places .
There is a large car park with plenty of parking .
The only issue is the car park is very dark at night could do with security lighting
- Asheri (8/5): - The property was clean and tidy. The staff were friendly.
- Charlie (10/5): Friends and couples - Great vibe was very easy to access when we came in late and we was not bothered all through our stay. Bar has a range of nice drinks and not too expensive
- Martin (8/5): My trip to West Bromwich - A homely type facility For the price l can't complain. Friendly staff. Nice size bed but tye matrass was alittle soft
- Robert (8/5): - The restaurant was exceptional - would love them to provide breakfast. Staff were very polite and well informed. Location was perfect to the venue that I was visiting and good shopping facilities close by. Would definitely recommend to others and would visit again!!!
- Melanie (8/5): Friendly staff - Basic rooms and above the restaurant which was busy due to being a Saturday so there was a bit of noise but not disruptive. The room was comfortable enough and had a full range of tea/coffee. Where the rooms are simple, the staff however could not be faulted. Helpful from the start, sorted us a table in the restaurant for a meal when we arrived despite being busy and us not having booked and the food was gorgeous. Left something in the bathroom and they were quick to respond and keep the item safe until we could return to collect later in the day.
- Laura (6/5): Standard night stay - It was standard and fine for a one night stay. The real struggle we found was that we couldn’t turn the heating off and it was red hot all night no matter how much we tried to manually turn the radiator off but for the price it was more than suitable for what we needed. Staff were friendly.
- GEOFFREY (8/5): Above a restaurant - Good place for a business stopover rooms clean, some bigger than others
- Sharon (10/5): Nice, warm room to return to - Super friendly people. Clean and warm room. Close by shops and easy public transport. It was for us the perfect place to come back to after discovering Dudley and Birmingham. We tried the restaurant the last evening and it was absolutely wondeful.
- Dosanjh (10/5): - Highly recommended. Excellent service.
- GEOFFREY (10/5): Good priced rooms - Good for the price, rooms above an Italian restaurant, so food no problems. Standard rooms but clean and comfortable
- Macky (8/5): Comfy hotel for overnight - Ideal location for family visit , comfy room
- Lisa (8/5): Good comfy stop from motorway - Perfect place for an overnight whilst travelling up the M5/6 corridor. Really close to the motorway. Comfy room. It was cold when I first arrived but soon warmed up when I put the radiator on. Everything expected from my stay. Good and easy parking. Check in was great as I arrived at after 1am and although closed, rang the number on the sign on the door and the night staff came quite quickly.
Thank you for a good sleep
- Steven (10/5): - Excellent service from staff
- David (8/5): - The hotel was good value for money. Only issue i had was no means to check out, with no drop box or member of staff to leave the key with.
- Steven (10/5): - Stopped here a few times always nice clean and amazing food
- GEOFFREY (8/5): Italian restaurant hotel - Nice hotel for the price, rooms are over a Italian restaurant, so not far to go for food, and residents get a discount.Local shops not far away. Room was on the small size as was the tv that did not work correctly. Will stay again
- keith (6/5): Does the job - I stayed here for one night for Buisness, the hotel is above what looks like a very plush Italian restaurant. The check in was easy but a bit rushed. The room I was given was fairly small and not of a good configuration which made working a bit difficult, the room was very tired and is in need of a bit of an update. I wasn’t expecting too much here due to the price, the plus side the were two local pubs nearby which are worth visiting.
- Andrew (8/5): - I booked the hotel because I read it had disabled access, unfortunately the only access to the rooms was via stairs.
- Lee (8/5): - Great 24/7 desk and the concierge was informative and helpful. Room was showing signs of age but was clean and suitable for get out heads down for the night
- claudia (10/5): Cute little place! - Absolutely loved my stay!
Everyone was so lovely and welcoming
- Peter (8/5): - Great, cheap and cheerful. Good service.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Touch ups - There’s room for improvement on the cleanness of the room as we noticed dust on the bedside lights and the sofa had bits on it. We enjoyed our stay
- Jamie (4/5): Clean, good service but needs some tlc - The first room we were put in the toilet seat was completely broken and was just resting on the pan. Reported to the staff who genuinely seemed shocked and were very quick to react and move us into another room.
This room again, whilst a little dated was very clean and well presented.
Then after using some of the facilities we noticed more issues. The shower had was cracked where someone had dropped it and water leaked out of the side when you had a shower. The bathroom mirror light only half of the led’s worked (not a major issue) and the toilet flush button kept getting stuck down. So the water kept flowing through, filling up then flowing through.
For us it was a cheap hotel last minute and served a purpose. It was clean, but definitely needed lots of tlc. The joining restaurant looked very nice and we intend on coming back to try that. If we get stuck again we would stay but would look elsewhere first.
- Daniel (10/5): - Lovely warm and welcoming staff and rooms were nice and clean too. Food was amazing and genuine homely Italian food would recommend to others.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Easy no fuss check in - An easy place to stay for a 1 night stop over. The room was good as beds were comfy. The accommodation is above a busy Italian restaurant so our room did smell of cooking!
- Adebowale (8/5): - Nice place
- Judith (4/5): - Unfortunately we had a room problem.tv remote didnt work back & fwd downstairs to they gave us a new remote..then...the loo was broken wouldnt flush ..back & fwd at 10.20pm & eventually moved us into another room
.but at 11
20pm a knock on the door..I was in bed in a single bed as it was near the socket for my phone & 2 guys had come to remove the single bed as they said we had paid for a double room & this was a 3 bedded room. When they saw me in bed in the single bed they apologised & said they would come the next day to remove it...we were not given any compensation for the trouble?!
- James (8/5): - Room was great value. Clean and well maintained but very hot.
Restaurant looked fab and the food smells delicious, would definitely eat their next time.
- Kanta (6/5): Just a small room - It was just a small room , it’s was a good job we wasn’t large (sorry) people as you would have been climbing over the bed to get to the tea/coffee facilities and if you slept on the side of the bed,,, youd have to squeeze past to go to the Bathroom, 😮 or Evan climb over 🤔
- Julie (8/5): - I had seen it described as offering bed and breakfast. We were surprised to find out that no breakfast is served, especially as there is a nice restaurant there.
- Amrinder (10/5): - hshshdhfjg
- Zita (6/5): - Old and tired rooms. Dirty carpet. No breakfast. Strange layout to reception. Dinner was very expensive but chicken was over cooked. If you just want a cheap room, its perfect for that but I wouldn't stay there again.
- Pauline (8/5): Simple but sufficient - As long as you go with realistic expectations you will be ok at the Lucarelli. We received a great welcome and we had a good nights sleep. The room was basic definitely no-frills but the TV gave good service, and all we needed was a stopover on a long journey. We were too tired to dine in the restaurant but I know from previous visits that the food and service is really good. It was certainly busy last night which is a good sign.
- Julie (10/5): Nice and clean. - Nice and clean, good location. Stress free stay.
- daniel (10/5): Great hospitality - Arrived early , staff couldn’t do enough to try and get the room ready . Very polite and ample parking
- Jon (10/5): Good Value - All clean , tidy and comfortable . Easy access after hours , helpful friendly staff
- Chloe (10/5): - Lovely restaurant b&b
Plenty parking spaces
Rooms basic but clean
Bed really comfortable
Very good size bathroom and bedroom
- Mark (8/5): Good value - Very good value and well placed
- Muhammad Daniyal (10/5): - Lovely hosts, clean room
- Kevin (8/5): - Was okay for the price room was clean shower was good, the only downfall is that it's down as a B&B but there was no breakfast.
- Edward (10/5): - Enjoyed my two-night stay here very much. Gentleman at front desk was courteous and very efficient. Room was simple, clean and comfortable. Attached restaurant is highly rated. Will have to try it next time.
- Amaan (10/5): - It was comfortable. A nice place with excellent service.
- Ann (8/5): - This was a lovely Inn. The 3 rooms we booked were above the Italian Restaurant which was very busy. There was plenty of Parking. The rooms were adequate for a short stay. There was nowhere in the shower though to put your toiletries or glasses for toothbrushes. The toilet roll holder was also in an awkward space behind the toilet. The bed was really comfortable and there was coffee and tea making facilities. Situated in West Bromwich close to the New Square Shopping Centre and a Tesco Extra for Breakfast. We ate at the Restaurant and the food was exceptional although a little expensive depending on what you had. All in all lovely for an overnight stay.
- Steven (10/5): - Really good and clean and friendly staff, stayed many times
- L D (6/5): One night stay - We stayed for one night at Lucarelli as was going to a funeral in the area. The room was clean, the bed was comfy but there was no breakfast available. On reading the description, the mention of breakfast is actually for Hare Five Hounds Hotel and NOT Lucarelli's! We had breakfast at Tesco less than a mile away. The B & B is not manned overnight and when we checked out just left our key at Reception Desk. Lucarelli's served its purpose for a place to stay but I wouldn't stay there for more than one night for a holiday.
- Peter (8/5): - The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was comfortable and clean.
The shower would benefit from a bit of attention and having the window open when I arrived was not what I expected during an icy spell of weather. these minor quibbles apart, the restaurant looked and smelled great, and I had a good night's sleep.
- Robert (10/5): - Good value fof money. Really friendly helpful staff great bar and restaurant
- Eleni (4/5): - Lovely hotel with extremely polite stuff- however this this time we were given a room that it was extremely difficult to move around the bed …
- GEOFFREY (10/5): A Italian bargain - Staff are friendly and polite, room made up every day, bed comfortable.
Italian restaurant downstairs with 10 percent discount for hotel customers.
Located near a retail park so good for shops.
- L2145MXmonikar (10/5): Great evening 🙂 - My husband and I had a wonderful evening. We were looked after very well by Donato.Hi made our evening very special ❤️
The meal was lovely and we had great time.
Thank you Donato for making us so welcome.😉
Monika&Robert
- jennifer (8/5): - It was a nice hotel had parking. Inside dated and need refreshing. Room was tidy and fresh sheets. Bathroom small and walls were dirty not badly but little splatters. No staff after restaurant is closed and no staff when you check out early. It was ok for one night but no more
- Karen (8/5): - Was an overnight stay. Very comfortable for my needs. As a disabled person I had to use the stairs which was a bit uncomfortable but the staff helped me. Once in the room comfortable, bathroom noisy with the air conditioning but wasn't for long. Over all stay comfortable.
- Claire (10/5): - Food
- Ian (10/5): Food to die for! - I was in West Bromwich to watch some cricket.
My third stay at Lucarelli
Rooms are very nice, shower is good.
The restaurant is top class
Staff very friendly & helpful
- Lashandra (10/5): Positive, thumbs up - The staff were very attentive, amazing smells of the food from the restaurant below and the room was clean tidy and comfortable. I will stay again.
- Duncan (10/5): Great place, unbelievable food - Hugely competitive pricing with an amazing restaurant attached. Would recommend for meal or if you need somewhere cheap and cheerful to stay without too many frills, this is perfect.
- Verified traveler (6/5): A strange hotel above an Italian restaurant - Strange experience. I called to say I would be checking in late after working lon a photo shoot and was told I may be locked out. That meant I had to check in early before the shoot which was inconvenient. The room seemed ok but my bathroom floor was flooded with water - not good! No breakfast is offered at this hotel. The restaurant is Italian but in hindsight I would go to McDonald’s before eating there. Peroni on draught was the only redeeming feature in this department. Staff were very friendly. Free parking - all plus points. To be honest it was cheap ( half the price of a Premier Inn) so if you want a cheap night and sort out your own food then I have stayed in worse places.
- paul (4/5): - Bed room was clean and tidy but bathroom was covered in long hairs like women's head hair . Mould on the bath horrible shower curtain when hotel pictures show bath has glass shower doors not curtain and two people loudly talking until 2 am in room oposite. So was disappointed with the stay I reported this to the manager who was friendly enough so hopefully this will be put right .
- Leah (10/5): - Loved it could do with a proper clean as there was a few small hairs on pillow but other than that comfy and shopping is close
- Suzanne (6/5): Nice restaurant, room ok, but not a B&B! - This is how the Inn is described on Hotels.com:
Lucarelli Inn
3.5-star B&B in West Bromwich with restaurant and bar/lounge
It is not a B&B! There is no breakfast available at all.
The restaurant was nice for the evening meal, and good service. The room was ok, but the bed was a bit creaky. They need to invest in better curtains! Woken by morning light at 5.30am.
- Aaliyah (10/5): - Lovely owner was really nice and welcoming
- Syed Wajahat (4/5): - The hotel entrance is through the restaurant and the restaurant was full with drunk people. I have to take my son and wife from that toute. No fan or air conditioning provided inside the room even at the temperature of 30. Will not recommend anyone to book this hotel again.
- Duncan (10/5): Perfect for West Brom at competitive price! - Great place to stay for the cost. The Italian attached is fantastic too.
Nothing too fancy, but the food in the Italian is exceptional and the price was very competitive
- Jonathan (10/5): - Exceptional value at this small Hotel which is above the restaurant. Everything that you need for a short stay. Couldn't fault it.
- Steven (10/5): A great place to stay. - Superb service.
Very welcoming and friendly, nothing was a problem.
- M (8/5): Nice place to stay - Very nice place, staff friendly,i will stay there again.
- Brett (8/5): - Room was clean and comfortable although not so easily accessed for someone with a disability. The food looks great and if I stay with someone I would definitely book a table.
- Irfan (2/5): - Very bad experience no service at all,
Bed was terrible didn’t sleep all night nevr again
- Robin (8/5): - We didn't like the 2 single beds put together to make a double bed most uncomfortable
- Verified traveler (6/5): Staff and food great ... room was acceptable. - Room allocated not as pictured. Had 2 beds so a family room.
The room overlooked the restaurant below and had air conditioners outside which were noisy.
A door somewhere in the vicinity (we believe it was downstairs to the kitchen area possibly?), kept banging until 1am.
The mattresses were too firm for us and the beds creaked when turning over, so kept waking us up occasionally.
The shower was great, but the tiling around the sink fell off ... reported to staff the following morning.
- Ian (10/5): - Excellent food from the restaurant. Great after a busy day
- Michael (6/5): - Short stay at short notice. Entry to hotel through restaurant on a busy Friday night. Room clean although bed was uncomfortable.
- Darren (10/5): Lovely hotel and very central - Lovely hotel, very near to the centre and always very clean.
- MR K A (10/5): Superb Italian food - Superb dinner
- Paul (10/5): Top Hotel. - Very nice stay. Rooms immaculate, very quiet and good nights sleep because had to be up early for work. Not a lot around but didnt spoil my stay. There are two pubs near by. I would say The horse and jockey is the better of the two. Tescos extra iscabout a 15 min walk over the bridge if you need any bits. Good hotel, highly recommend
- Kathryn (10/5): Will be returning - The staff were outstanding. They went out of there way to accommodate me and my daughters. The room was lovely clean and comfy I will definitely be back
- Joan (8/5): - Restaurant very good. Pity they do not supply breakfast.
- Lisa (6/5): - My stay was just what i needed somewhere to rest the night. The matress was uncomfortable as it was only for a night manageable.
- Zameer (2/5): - Paid for a double room and got two single beds stuck together
- 464bg (10/5): Surprisingly great! - I wasn't really sure what to expect when I booked a family room at the Lucarelli Inn. Turns out, I had found a winner. The Lucarelli is a huge, popular Italian restaurant with rooms upstairs. It's very well located near the New Square shopping development with a multitude of shops and restaurants. There is a lot of parking available at the hotel.
We were checked in efficiently by a friendly young lady, I was impressed with the early check in time. We turned up soon after 12 and the room was ready. It was advertised as a double and a single but the double was huge - basically 2 single beds together. The wifi worked well, toiletries and coffee / tea was plentiful, the tv was good and everything was clean. If I was looking with a critical eye I would think the room was a little dated, but it was comfortable, well located, quiet - what's not to love?! I would stay here again without hesitation.
- jon amron (10/5): Great place to stay in West Brom - Staff very helpful and friendly
- Matthew (6/5): A clean 3* room - The room is one of 10 or so above a nice looking and busy Italian restaurant with plenty of well lit parking. On arrival the staff were lovely and very helpful. The room itself was OK, the double bed was quite small but there was a single so we used both. The room was uncomfortably hot and noise from the kitchen and garden meant the windows couldn't be left open, although after 11pm it was quiet enough. We had to use cushions to block the light streaming from under the door. The bathroom was very hot and the shower head didn't fit within the bracket. The tea/coffee making facilities were decent. It was quite pricy but that was probably due to the Commonwealth Games.
