Guest Reviews
- Katrina (9/5): Spacious, clean accommodation. Welcoming hosts. Clean and comfortable. Beautiful and peaceful garden - Great hosts and location was perfect, just outside the Medina and near the blue gate Nothing
- Juber (10/5): Oasis next to the medina of Fes - Jean-Claude is amazing! Super super nice, friendly, gives you great tips!
We also had the chance to do a massage and it was super super good! Thank you again Rihana!
Amazing garden and decoration, it feels like a paradise which is super nice after a day in the medina!
The bedroom was super cosy and a unique decoration!
Everyone in this place is here to help you make you have the best stay ever!
Thank you again Jean-Claude, we will be back! Nothing

- RachelPH (9/5): - Jean Claude and his staff are lovely. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the view from the balcony is fantastic. Generous breakfast in the courtyard. And a fantastic location for the medina. We stayed for a week and breakfast was the same every day. Which is only a small issue.
- Mahomed (7/5): Enjoyable and comfortable stay. - Good breakfast and good service. Excellent location just outside the medina.
- Tara (10/5): - Our stay at Riad Jean Claude was delightful. The riad is an oasis of calm just a stones throw from the medina, the room was very comfortable and the breakfast, served in the garden, was a real treat each morning. Everyone at the riad was very kind and helpful and we were so grateful for Jean Claude giving us a lift to the station and even returning with us when we had forgotten a bag. Thank you for a great stay, I would recommend to anyone spending a few days in Fes.
- Giacomo (7/5): -
- Grgur (8/5): It was a nice stay, we just had difficulties communicating with the staff because they didn’t speak english. -
- Josephine (10/5): Riad Jean Claude offers the perfect blend for those with just a few days in Fez: relaxing sounds of nature amidst a lush - The garden was absolutely gorgeous and so relaxing to lounge in. The view from the rooms off the balcony was also stunning, and we were lucky enough to see a full moon during sunset one evening. The location of the road was also perfect - just a quick 2 minute walk to the entrance, but the moment you step inside the riad, it’s as if you’re miles away! So relaxing. I don’t have much to complain about; our stay was fantastic and Jean Claude was helpful and easy to communicate with. A bit more privacy (particularly in the rooms off the balcony) would have been appreciated; there was a window in the door with a grate over it, which you cannot close or cover up. A simple curtain would suffice for some peace of mind! But other than that, everything was lovely.
- Vinny (10/5): -
- Dr.Osman (9/5): -
- Paolo (4/5): We definitely won't come back - Very good breakfast unfortunately served on open air where the temperature in March reached 10 degree celsius in the morning The structure is a beautiful Riad dated 17th century. Unfortunately the last maintenance has been made in ..... 17th century. Our room was smelly, extremely humid and cold. We had one upper wall electric heater in the bathroom to warm up the freezing room before taking shower and an old noising air conditioning split for the rest of the room. The electric boiled for the hot water was sized for just one shower. Two person need to take shower at different time in a day. Internet had very slow connection. One funny note: the property asked to be paid in cash... last time we made payment in cash i gues was something like 30 years ago.
- Malika (9/5): - Een veilige, vertrouwde haven' . Jean Claude is een fijne gastheer. Betrokken,behulpzaam.. Niks
- Josie (10/5): - Jean Claude was a lovely host. We really enjoyed our stay and Jilali was the best. It is like an oasis on the edge of the Medina.
- Meltem (8/5): -
- Tony (10/5): exceptionally well cared for by Jean-Claude and his staff. - all three categories easily met "exceptional" standards
Also auch kein wirklicher Kritikpunkt.
- laura (10/5): -
- Martin (10/5): An oasis of tranquility, located just outside the medina. Comfortable AC room, welcoming pool after a day’s activities. -
On recommande fortement
- John (10/5): 10/10 - An amazing Riad - perfect location (2mins walk into the Medina but quiet and relaxing - perfect combination!). On top of that the breakfast was great and we had a lovely time. Thank you Jean Claude! Nothing it was perfect
- Krzysztof (10/5): Outstanding - Twin Room on the First Floor March 2025.
The Riad on the edge of the Medina is not very large, for perhaps only 10(?) people in several separate and functional rooms with comfortable bathrooms (with a small dressing room) and small charming bedrooms. These "guest rooms" are located in the two-story main building with a large palatial living room, open to the garden and for guests' use (next to it a small kitchen) and in two separate ground-floor pavilions in a beautiful garden with a small, colorfully illuminated swimming pool (by it are some sun loungers).
Each of the elements of the architecture, buildings, garden and equipment of the Riad is extraordinary in terms of beauty, originality, style, quality, functionality, solidity and condition - from planning, selection, composition, layout, maintenance and cleanliness. Birds singing in the garden all day long, there is sun and shade and smells and all the colors of Africa. There are also representatives of fauna:) a white cat trying to avoid being petted to death by guests and a small dog jealous of the guests' attention.
Perfect cleanliness.
Breakfasts dreamt of in composition and quality prepared and served by a lady who knows both cooking and elegance can be eaten on amazing palace tableware in a salon found only in a sultan's palace or in a museum or in the most expensive hotels.
As a whole, despite its small size, the riad gives the impression of staying in a huge palace and vast gardens of sultans from Arabian fairy tales - in a harmonious world of water, exquisite and well-kept plants, tasteful poetry and music. This is a mini world as if from dreams, idealized novels or films, from paintings by European painters discovering the Orient, enchanted by its nature, people and their delicious culture.
Such an incredible guest experience would not be possible without the owner and host of the riad - Mr.
- Laura (10/5): Fantastic stay, it is a must when in Fes! - This property is amazing, gorgeous, charming and very well located. It is just outside the Medina, only a couple of minutes walk. It is the perfect location. The breakfast was outstanding! Jean Claude was fantastic and very welcoming. We would definitely stay there again if visiting Fes in the future again.
- Eglantine (8/5): Very good -
- Kjustynski (10/5): Exceptional - It truly is a green, beautiful oasis next to crowded Medina. Thw owner was very helpful and offered us a ride to the bus station. The bathroom ventilation could be better,
- Emma (8/5): Very good - Perfect location, a little out of the Medina. But your in the Medina in 2 minuts. Also loved the pool and garden. We had our own little terrace which was really nice. The bathroom did smell a little and the bed was too small for us long dutchies.
- Gil (10/5): Jean Claude is very kind, the garden is beautiful and the breakfast is delicious. Location is perfect as well as the par - Jean Claude is very kind, the garden is beautiful and the breakfast is delicious. Location is perfect as well as the parking across the street. /
- Valentina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julia (10/5): Perfect location, beautiful Riad, wonderful service - We liked everything and will return!
The beautiful garden with the pool, the very comfortable rooms with the best showers of our trip (hot with lots of water pressure!)
Fantastic location and the best breakfast of our 2 week trip. Jean Claude was wonderful and his staff was great! Highlight of our trip!
We enjoyed sipping a glass of wine (we had with us) in front of our room with a view of the Medina Everything was perfect
- Xiaomeng (9/5): Fantastic stay! - - Beautiful garden. We took so many pictures in it, during the day and the night.
- Fantastic location. I like the fact that it's not in in the medina, but so close you can easily walk in, and not be surrounded by how busy the old town is.
- There's a heater in the bathroom!!!! Only now I'm freezing in the current accommodation, which made me appreciate this heater even further! Missing it.....
- Tasty breakfast. Lovely staff and food.
- Friendly and helpful host. Jean Claude was very helpful and gave us a lift to the bus station as we booked one that's too early. He also moved breakfast time forward so we could have some food before we start the long coach journey.
Will definitely come back to Jean's Riad when in Fez next! Shower can be intermittent, but to be honest, after checking in a different accommodation in a different place in Morocco, I seriously doubt if and how much people here have showers..... intermittent isn't bad, at least it works for a shower-length of time.
- Jonas (10/5): Exceptional - This wonderful Riad is located at a parking lot right next to the main street of the medina which is very nice because it's in the center but also very quiet and peaceful. We got a very rich breakfast in the morning and it is also possible to get a dinner in the Riad but we didn't book it. On our check out day Jean Claude was so kind to call a taxi for us to get to the airport. It costs around 250 Dirham which is approximately 25 Euro which we think is a fair price. We can definitely recommend this Riad. Thank you Jean Claude for making our stay in Fès so special! :)
- Linda (9/5): Superb - Lovely room & absolutely gorgeous courtyard garden, especially at night time. Shame about the technical issue with the TV etc unresolved.
- Christina (9/5): We enjoyed this delightful oasis on the edge of the Medina - The Riad is very well located just on the edge of the Medina. There is a lovely garden, filled with the sound of birds and with a pool. The room was spacious, with lots of places to put things, and had a little outside terrace. The breakfasts were delicious, and we also ate a tasty evening meal here. Our host was very friendly and welcoming and even drove us to the station. I only gave 9/10 because of the shower, which didn't have a curtain or door and so sprayed over the room.
- Meg (10/5): Great stay at Riad Jean Claude - The breakfast was great, the pool was great (unheated but refreshing!), the location - just outside the Medina but with easy access - was very convenient and Jean Claude was really helpful. We will definitely go back to Riad Jean Claude next time we are in Fes. Nothing could have been better
- Aarti (10/5): Beautiful riad and excellent location. Jean Claude was lovely and helpful. Highly recommend! -
- Julie (9/5): Superb -
- Yuxi (9/5): Superb -
- Jennifer (8/5): Well located, peaceful, spacious Riad, with helpful host and excellent breakfast. Room a little cold - Excellent breakfast, helpful host, good location, nice peaceful Riad The room, especially bathroom, was quite cold
- Roxie (9/5): Exceptional experience - Jean Claude and his staff provided top notch hospitality during our stay. Very accommodating to our schedule and went above and beyond to help us getting to places. The location of the riad is walking distance to the old Medina and other major attractions. Beautiful decor and courtyard. The breakfast includes various sweet jams, bread and pastries, fruit salad, OJ, yogurt, and coffee and/or tea. Highly recommend! The hot shower can be intermittent.
- Paul (10/5): Riad Jean Claude - Have stayed with Jean Claude last year, I again stayed this year, an excellent host and staff who go out of there way for you, a beautiful Riad garden and pool, had an amazing time in Fes,wish I could have stayed longer, but shall be back soon, thank you Jean Claude Everything
- Shahab (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Nothing
- Sukanya (10/5): Hospitable staff and nice riad - A sweet, tiny riad decorated in a vintage style. The room was clean and Jean-Claude and his staff were very hospitable. Breakfast was delicious. I really appreciated that from the walls to the pots of jam used for breakfast, everything looked old but clean and well-maintained. Sustainable stay.
- Lap (8/5): Very good - Spacious room, fantastic garden view and friendly owner.
- Ghislaine (10/5): A little gem in Fes - we liked everything about this amazing Riad. Location (next door to public parking and the Medina.Beautiful garden, beautiful and comfortable room, friendly service, great breakfast N/A
- Bednorz (9/5): Superb - Absoult lovely place!
We enjoyed our two night stay.
The location next to the medina was perfect. The service and the people we're really friendly - total recommend it!
- Concetta (10/5): Exceptional - This is literally a paradise in Fes. Jean Claude and his Team are very welcoming and big-hearted. Breakfast was excelent with a lot of choices. We loved this place. Highly recommended Nothing, everything was perfect
- Darren (10/5): Beautiful oasis minute from Medina. - Perfect location. On road, for easy access, but just a few yards from Medina wall.
- Isobel (9/5): Amazing spot, extremely hospitable hosts and would return again! - Jean-Claude and all the staff were very welcoming and hospitable, going out of there way to assist us in various things. Pool was lovely and breakfast was very nice. Overall a fantastic place to stay whilst in Fes. The only downside was that the bed was very small and bed linens/sheets weren’t very substantial so it was not as comfortable of a nights sleep.
- Beatrice (8/5): Very good - The riad was like a little oasis, with beautiful trees surrounding the pool which made it feel like we weren’t in such a bustling city. It is perfectly located just outside the medina which allowed us to go in and out as we pleased. Jean Claude is a lovely host and very accommodating - we would definitely come again :) Nothing
- Miriam (9/5): Beautiful and friendly place to stay - The riad is beautiful! Very green in the garden, the pool was such a bonus, and Jean-Claude was lovely. It is located just outside of the old medina, so it feels a bit more open. Quiet at night. The breakfast was copious. The air conditioner worked, but it was just enough for us to get to sleep at night. I can't really say anything else negative; our stay was quite nice.
- Angela (10/5): Fab - Great location, lovely garden, friendly staff All good
- Amanda (9/5): An enjoyable stay in Fez. Thank you Jean Claude! - A great location close to Fez medina - you can easily walk to most places from the riad. Jean Claude is very friendly & welcoming - his recommendations for restaurants and places to visit were much appreciated! Bathroom needs updating.
- Francisca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Virginia (9/5): Superb - We enjoyed the beautiful garden and wonderful pool during the heat in the afternoon and very quiet and the location one minute to the Medina.
The ambience of the Riad and excellent friendly and professional service by our host Jean Claude.
Excellent breakfast with delicious fruit, yogurt, breads and a selection of delicious jams with coffee and hot milk. Nothing.
- Leanne (10/5): Perfect retreat close to the Medina - What a little haven!! We enjoyed our 3 day stay in this pretty guesthouse. The breakfast was delicious and sitting under the trees next to the pool was lovely every morning. The proximity to the Medina is perfect and right across from the parking if coming by car. Highly recommend. Only thing missing was a fridge in the room but there is a drinks , bar list available from Jean Claude.
- Papadiochou (10/5): Exceptional - We loved the riad and the location.
The host was friendly and accommodating to all of our needs. The riad itself was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay there.
- Marlena (10/5): We had amazing stay in this Riad . From check in to check out Jean Claude made sure his guests are looked after - Its stunning
Location and authentic look
Plentiful breakfast and yummy coffee
Proper little pool to cool down on a hot day
Friendly owner and lovely staff Lack of mini fridge in the room , no one likes to drink warm water or coke
There’s definitely space for little fridge in the luggage storage area , but this is the only little minus of this place
- Cristina (10/5): Exceptional - The Riad is simply breathtaking. The photos don't show how beautiful it is. It's also in a great position, especially if you are driving, as it is 1 minute walk from a secure parking lot, as well as the entrance to the medina. The owner Jean Claude and his staff are all lovely. A little peaceful heaven from the chaos of the medina. Greatly recccomend it. Nothing
- Sian (10/5): we didnt want to leave... - from the moment we arrived the calm of Riad Jean Claude was perfect after a dusty 4 hour journey. Jean Claude made sure we were hydrated and and welcomed us wonderfully. His Riad is in one of the best locations in the city - a few minutes walk to the Ain Azliten entrance to the Medina which promptly drops you onto the Craft route - cafe's rugs, leather works, honey sellers & a fabulous fusion restaurant all nearby. And because it's a car free zone no city traffic noise to disturb your sleep! No getting lost looking for your accommodation as it's just the best location of any riad we stayed in & a touring car park nearby if you have your own transport.
Rooms overlook the beautiful garden courtyard with dipping pool - there's even a resident tortoise! Fabulous hospitality & our requests all met & deliverd with efficiency. Jean Claude has curated a wondeful oasis, with fascinating & unique objects d'art which pepper the riad and make it feel like a home away from home, it's the perfect retreat after a day of exporing the city or beyond - Merci Jean Claude nous reviendrons!
- Muriel (10/5): A little paradise next to the medina - A little corner of paradise next to the medina. Everything is just beautiful, the breakfast is excellent and Jean-Claude was friendly and welcoming… but wish I could have stayed much longer! Nothing except that the internet broke down. I had to go t a nearby restaurant to get WiFi…. Jean-Claude was waiting desperately for the man from the telecom to come and repair when I left. And altogether, it was even a nice experience to disconnect for a little while :-)
- Danielle (9/5): Perfect location and helpful host. - Breakfast was delicious and ample for the day. Location was just outside of the Medina. Jean-Claude was gracious and helpful. Really liked having the balcony and an option of swimming. Our room was a bit dark.
- Owen (10/5): Wonderful peaceful place to stay - The Road has a beautiful garden. Very close to the Medina and Jean is a very good and helpful host. I would have no hesitation about recommending this accommodation. Nothing
- Muhammad (7/5): I would definitely come back to Jean Claud, due to it's location. - The location of Jean Claude was perfect for us as the taxi was able to drop us off right in from of our riad unlike other places. It was also a 2/3 minute walk to the Medina. The Riad itself was pretty and the garden was gorgeous with flowers and hanging trees everywhere. The owner Jean Claud was such a welcoming and friendly man who had 2 cute cats and a tiny dog. As a family with a 1 year old, our room was on the top floor (3rd floor) so it was a bit of a mission having to climb up and down the steep steps every day with our baby. As lovely as it was to see cats in the riad, you could smell them when you walked up and down the stairs (luckily the smell was not in our rooms)
- Nora (9/5): Little oasis - Little paradise on the edge of the medina. Beautiful garden, very friendly host that helped us with a guided medina tour (highly recommended, otherwise you will definitely get lost). Good breakfast with fresh fruit salad in a wonderful atmosphere. Room was cozy, with a/c with heating function (which u might need in February).
You can leave your car just around the corner for small money on a huge parking lot.
This is the perfect place if you are looking for an authentic accommodation. -
- Xueying (8/5): Good stay in Fes - Riad is beautiful, breakfast is nice. The room looks better than pictures. Walking distance to medina. The bathroom is new painted, the smell of paint is very strong and makes you uncomfortable.
- Helen (7/5): 4 nights in Fez - An excellent location for exploring the sights. Jean Claude was a great host and his evening meal was delicious. The rooms were very Moroccean and very clean. There are only 3 rooms, 2 of them up a steep staircase which might be a problem for some people. The room off the garden had no steps. The garden/pool area was very pretty and the communal lounge was a delight to sit and take the evening meal, drinks or just read. The staff were extremely obliging and helpful. Wine and beer is available in the Riad but not spirits (the supermarket for spirits is a long way). For us in the Meknes room (we think that was it's name) up the stairs, the bed was not comfrotable, and with respect Jean Claude a new matress is needed for this room. The Marrakech room off the garden had a comfortable bed.
- Rinske (8/5): Very good -
- Guy (10/5): - Ideal location to Medina. Great oasis after a day exploring. Jean-Claude is a great host!
- Gillian (10/5): Loved it there - Beautiful place relaxing good location helpful host Nothing stairs up to room
- Ricardo (10/5): Exceptional - Great and quiet slice of paradise next to Fez medina. Can't beat the location and it is topped up with nice and quiet rooms, wonderful garden and pool and a friendly host. If I ever come back to Fez, I would definitively stay there again.
- Ricardo (10/5): A quiet slice of paradise with very convenient access to the Fez Medina. - The location is one of the best. So close to and with easy access to the medina of Fez. And to have the quiet and feel of your own slice of paradise at that location is quite unique. The nearby parking(s) are conveniently close and the low cost make them worthwhile. We also enjoyed the very good breakfast. Well done.
