Guest Reviews
- Adrian (7/5): - great location & scenery the noise in the morning. not the hotel's fault just very inconsiderate guests
- Stacey (9/5): -
- Hamson (8/5): Lovely break - Very nice Nothing
- Pat (7/5): Noisy hotel - The beds were really comfy and the room was warm . We were above reception so it was very noisy especially at 7am when the cleaning team came into work as woke us up .
- Joanna (8/5): Lovely location and rooms spacious - Sea front location, plenty of parking, dog friendly I had to cancel the last day but no compromise on refund or having breakfast and dog payment in lieu of last days payment
- William (9/5): -
- David (8/5): - Room was nice. The staff were all very helpful
- nigel (10/5): - Lovely room, great view, very friendly staff. Great location Everything was great
- Nicola (10/5): Great pet friendly hotel - Loved the facilities, restaurant and a bar (also offered priority reservations as a hotel guest as it gets busy) and great location, right on the beach. Pet friendly so plenty of dogs around, perfectly clean too. Also great accessibility into town, carpark on site so relieves the stress of parking. Despite it being the start of the season, it was still quite busy but I can imagine during peak season this place would be great to stay to ensure all your needs are met. There's plenty of outdoor space, and a kids play area. The beds were comfy and room recently refurbished! I didn't like the fact that I only stayed for two nights! Only thing i could mention was the scaffolding outside of my window, but not an issue for me as I didn't have a sea view anyway! As it was bank holiday there was nobody working either so no disruption from people anyone working on the roof.
- Matthew (7/5): - Great location, lovely staff, fantastic breakfast Accommodation looking a bit tired . In need of some TLC
- Simon (8/5): -
- Karen (9/5): - Location, food, staff
- Sharon (5/5): -
- Anthony (8/5): I would stay again - Location great. Breakfast good but small. Breakfast could of been better for the price I paidi
- garry (10/5): We will definitely return. The hotel was a excellent location. The staff were friendly and helpful. - Location was lovely. Staff at the hotel couldn't do enough for us . Breakfasts wee very nice ..we had evening meals afew nights at the Hotel were excellent.
- Joy (6/5): -
- Emily (7/5): Was a decent stay for 3 nights, close to what we wanted to see. However there was an issue with the toilet and the bed w - It was a nice hotel right on the seafront just a 5-10 minute walk to the main town with shops and amusements. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable and we had issues with the toilet flushing. The hotel is quite old and could do with a refurbishment.
- Claire (8/5): -
- Derek (6/5): -
- McCormick (7/5): Very dog friendly and acceptable value for money - Good value for money albeit a bit tired.
- sarah (8/5): A well positioned hotel that is great for staying at with dogs , especially if you love your walking - This was a great dog friendly hotel with lovely staff situated within great walking distance of the town. Our shower was not good, it was a electric & we could not get a decent temperature to shower & wash hair…it was boiling hot & would then go freezing, adjusting the temperature dial just made the shower go cooler.
Batteries were not working in either of the remotes for the television.
- johnwH6531WX (10/5): Perfect Christmas Break - From the moment we arrived, until we were waved off by everyone, it has been a wonderful Christmas break. Faith, Gary and all of the staff (and family) did their utmost to make our stay perfect. Food was great, as was our room and all of our time there. We found it hard to pull away from our view of the sea and beach each day. We felt that we were part of a happy, extended family. A very, very lovely stay. Thanks a lot for making us so content. All we need now are some larger fitting clothes!
- Rob (5/5): -
- Ball (9/5): Our weekend break - Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Had a lovely stay
- Travel41256073214 (10/5): Fabulous sea view - My family and I had a wonderful stay here recently.
There was a charity event on and the atmosphere in the hotel was electric.
Gary and Faith were excellent hosts.
Our bed was very comfy and the sea view was perfect. We had a lovely shower room, it looked newly fitted and the shower was powerful and hot.
The location is excellent overlooking the sea. Some fabulous local amenities. Good breakfast served in a lovely bright dining room.
The hotel is very welcoming to dogs.
Well stocked bar which also serves tea and coffee.
I'm looking forward to returning.
- Yasmine (8/5): - The room and bed was very nice and comfortable. Staff were pleasant and the breakfast was nice too
- Jackie (9/5): -
- Gillian (10/5): -
- Gordon Innes (7/5): - Everything was fine apart from a shower problem The shower did not work for two days
If there is a shower problem don't deal with the younger members of staff as they don't seem to appreciate how important this is to a guest deal with someone more senior.
- Richard (2/5): A dump - The hotel is well placed for a beach holiday in Barmouth. Really comfortable and warm bed. Overpriced at double what we paid for good hotels in English city centres. Sorry to say it, but this place is a dump. The rooms have no noise insulation, so you hear everyone walking past, putting their key in the door and then the door slamming shut. The drafty corridors and rooms have uneven and squeaky floors with old carpeting that you wouldn't want to walk barefoot on. Our bathroom had nowhere to hang a towel, nowhere to put our wash things and a pathetically tiny sink. The TV had no remote control and had years of dust behind it. The drawers were dirty with dead flies and dust, and one of the drawer fronts actually came off.... and the curtains were stained with rusty marks.
- Sean (10/5): - Min y Mor is a friendly, cosy hotel. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The location is brilliant, being right next to the beach. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back
- john (9/5): A comfortable hotel in a good location - We liked the breakfast staff & receptionist on Monday morning. Breakfast was really good , and staff kind & helpful
- Julie (10/5): -
- Mccaffrey (9/5): -
- Brian (10/5): Solo traveller for 2 nights. - Fantastic Seafront location (you can see how close in the picture) and only a short walk from the train station. Very convenient
The hotel has a good bar serving a variety of beer and had a friendly feel.
The staff were great with fantastic attitudes. Always approachable and helpful.
The food was great! A very family feel to the service which I enjoyed. The property in itself is slightly dated but in keeping with the hotel itself.
The room I had did not have a view due to its position in the hotel - this was not an issue for me as I went for two days solo so just needed somewhere to lay my head but may bother others if your hopeful for a picturesque view.
- Darren (7/5): I enjoyed the stay, the location is great, small things let it down. - The garden was nice overlooking the sea, and just a short walk to Barmouth.
There was a nice seating area and a play area for young children
There was a basic bar inside.
There were ice creams for sale.
There was a burger bar on the car park. Breakfast was ok. Nice and hot. I wasn't expecting it to have potato slices? I would have rather they were either chips or hash browns.
The room was clean but the room and the landing outside had a smell I couldn't really place. Musty.
The staff seemed disinterested and overworked.
- Fiona (10/5): -
- Lorna (5/5): Great position on sea front dogs are very welcome - Very good breakfast plenty of choice No bedside cabinet.very noisy could hear children bouncing or running about over us doors constantly closing
- S1194ARmikeo (10/5): Whitebait heaven - Week on the beach and everyday went to this gem. Beer ,cider, and wine all first class..... food at the seiral grilla was amazing, whitebait and chips unreal, seriously think you could double your prices...glasses collected every 2 m8ns and all the staff were lovely
- Peter (3/5): Ten min walk from centre,ok for short stay - Large garden to front ,good range of drinks in bar ,beds comfortable Room was not great ,shower cubicle would fill up and flood, view from room was a fire escape
- Nicholas (8/5): I really enjoyed staying at the Min y Mor hotel, the staff were lovely, the facilities very good and the food excellent - The hotel is very visually appealing looking more like a country house than a hotel. The facilities are very good value for money , clean, modern and welcoming.
- A4343KIpaulaa (4/5): Over priced - Just paid £18.85 for a king prawn linguine, that consisted of 5 prawns and a minimal serving of pasta.
Probably cost about £3 to make. Although it tasted okay, definitely not value for money.
- Alex (1/5): Room 9 - Room was dirty mould in every corner of bathroom, toilet seat filthy and had lots of scratches and cuts on it that had become black with filth. Tea and coffee cups had not been cleaned since last guests. Shower did not work. Had to cut our stay short it was that bad.
- Karen (7/5): - Friendly on arrival x parking included Rather tired and alarm went off x a leak but no real explanation x barman rife on Saturday evening
- andrew (8/5): - Location great staff ....even after all the negatives would still go back 😁😁 Breakfast not really value for the extra you pay on bookings.com . Hotel starting to look a bit tired since we went 28 years ago
- Nuttall (10/5): -
- TattysGirl (2/5): Avoid - The food offering was misleading. Ordered the beetroot and feta salad as a main. Was served a starter portion.
Not home cooked beetroot. Dry rocket and feta.
The toilets STANK you didn’t need signage just follow your nose. An underwhelming experience that will not be repeated
- Akter (9/5): -
- Edyta (10/5): - Lovley staff , my pet parrot was welcome 😁 we all had good time
- Angela (4/5): - Bed very uncomfortable. You could feel the springs. A smell in the room. Worn out furniture and bathroom.
- Donna (10/5): - Just absolutely perfect location right next to the beach , and loved how they allow doggies to stay , will be going back again soon .
- Mitchell (8/5): - Everything except the food. The food was a rip off worse than a weather spoons meal
- Evelyn (8/5): A nice pleasant atmosphere - The property was very nice
Friendly staff Beds were to soft for our needs
- Carole (4/5): Not great at all sadly - Didn’t have breakfast as would have cost another £10.50 each on top of £120 for room. Went for my husband’s birthday which was the day we arrived. Had requested a bottle of red wine to be left in room and got a reply saying yes, no problem. When we arrived the man on the desk couldn’t raise a smile, very miserable. Went onto room and it was absolutely tiny, bathroom very old and tired, shower terrible. Opened curtains to find a rusty old fire escape one inch from window, quickly shut curtains, was very depressing. Asked to be moved and were allowed to go in a much better room, but second night we had to go back into the the first room. No apology or offer of a free breakfast, they didn’t care as I’d already paid. Great location right on the beach front but very disappointing in all other aspects.
- 193jackied (6/5): Great location but a bit scruffy - The hotel is in a fantastic location and the large beer garden overlooks the beach. Very close to all amenities . The staff were really friendly especially the blonde lady on reception who let us check in about 10.30 as our room was ready. Breakfast was cooked to order and was good . I think that the hotel was overpriced - we paid £140 per night . The decor is quite scruffy and cheaply furnished .
- Matthew (10/5): Lovely stay on a trip down memory lane - Lovely stay going back to an area I remember fondly from visits years ago. First time staying at Min y Mor & would go back if in the area again. Friendly staff, great location, clean & the scrambled egg at breakfast is delicious.
- simon (10/5): Superb Hotel !!! - The Min y Mor had everything and more that we needed for our stay in Barmouth.I personally recommend the Serial Griller food shack located on the car park ,great food ,great service and value for money. Absolutely nothing negative to say at all, and we will definitely return at some time in the future
- andy (10/5): - Fab location. Great staff.great meal both evenings we ate at the hotel. ??
- charmaine (4/5): - The area was beautiful The staff was unhelpful,it was dirty I have hair in my breakfast two many dogs in the property, because we complained we was more or less told to leave the property, yes I got some of my money back, but this was a gift for my mum and dad, heavily let down the view from our dirty bedroom window
- Aleksandra (10/5): - V
- Edward (9/5): Min y Mor - The location, brilliant. The staff were brilliant. The room was comfortable, the hotel is a wonderful old building. Nothing I did not like.
- chris (5/5): - Location Beds
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely place to stay - Lovely place with an excellent location straight opposite the beach. Friendly and very obliging staff. Only marked down on Eco-friendly as I didn't notice anything to warrant a higher score. Would definitely stay again it is a lovely hotel just lacked a couple of extras I would have liked such as tissues and bottles of water in the rooms
- A1167WNsuej (10/5): Welcoming friendly relaxed. Your dog will be more welcomed than you. Just perfect - Just back from another lovely long weekend. So welcoming and friendly. This is the 3rd time I have stayed and will definitely be returning 3 or 4 times yearly. Stunning location and I love the family feel. Breakfast is simply delicious and so chilled no rush at all. The Serial Griller does excellent food throughout the afternoon . Evening menu at the bar is perfect to finish your day off. So if you want a chilled weekend away to do as much or as little as you want this is definitely the place for you and your dog will be even more welcomed than you. Absolute perfection.
- Liz (10/5): - We had a wonderful 3 days at this hotel and the staff were very good .They cater well for all age groups
- Hannah (10/5): Staff were absolutely brilliant, the serial griller outside was amazing! The food was brilliant quality and price. - Great location, beach a 2 second walk down the steps, main town was a 5 minute walk Beds were quite firm and the bath was blocked a little so water went down quite slowly
- Claire (7/5): For the price we paid to stay was good but wouldn’t pay extra for the breakfast there - Location was good but breakfast wasn’t as good as it was made out to be especially for the price but Barmouth grill for £3 extra was amazing. Breakfast and uneven wonky floors
- Bowden (10/5): - The wonderful view from the hotel .. Not being a dog lover, there were too many dogs for my liking.it didn't effect my stay though
- sharon.carnell (4/5): - The staff were lovely and helpful The bathroom sink was ridiculously small there was black mould in the shower and the place was noisy. The headboard was so loose it banged while turning over and the neighbours and those above could be heard in their rooms.
- Kraig (6/5): Ok but check elsewhere first! - Overall it was ok. The shower plug kept blocking up and overflowing and when we reported it to reception we were simply told “that’s what it does”. I suppose the hotel was ok. It’s old and needs seriously updating (with air con) but it’s clean and comfy. Would only go back if I had no where else to go! Although the outside space is more than adequate.
- ronald (8/5): - the room was ok but the food was not up to standard
- Natalie (8/5): Fantastic stay - Great experience. Fantastic location Decor a little outdated but everything else was super
- ruth (6/5): Spoilt by the weather. - N/A Breakfast not included. Small dark bedroom.
- Geetas4 (4/5): Average Stay - Checkin was smooth and easy parking, lady on the front desk was friendly. The room we had was small and outdated, smelt and wasn't cleaned properly, good job I took my own antibacterial wipes! I did ask if any other rooms were available there
weren't any other rooms available. The small window in the room didn't open properly and it was very stuffy in the room, there was also no outdoor view as this was frosted glass, this was not something that I was expecting for the price I paid.
Breakfast was nice although would be nice if the breakfast time was extended out as only available from 8.30am till 9.30am. Breakfast would be even more nicer if you did normal hash-browns instead of potatoes some of the staff were really friendly others weren't.
I noticed outside each room the cleaners would lay clean towels and clean bed linen on the floor?? This really did put me off the hotel, I'm not sure why your cleaners do this as this is really unhygienic putting clean bedding on dirty floors outside each room this didn't go unnoticed by guests that were walking past the rooms.
- Butch (10/5): -
- Alison (10/5): The staff are so lovely. Food was piping hot fast service. Location is amazing and plenty of seating and parking. Would - Spacious room
- Alan (7/5): As expected. - Good breakfast for reasonable price. Location right on sea front. A bit of a walk into town but not too bad. Bathroom mirror light not working. Have found similar problem on other visits. Not resolved during stay.
- debbiedU8734MC (10/5): Midweek break - First visit at this very family friendly hotel nothing is too much trouble the staff are very helpful rooms are lovely walk in shower . And the staff made my dog very welcome . Food was fantastic great service . We came home and was already checking dates when we can go back. Thankyou
- Joanne (10/5): Beautiful place to stay - * *
- steph (5/5): It served a purpose - Location was great Was dated and felt grubby. Staff were mostly very unfriendly making every request feel like an inconvenience
- pussycats (10/5): Wonderful Min_Y_Mor. - We have spent another great 4 night stay at Min-Y-Mor Hotel Barmouth. Room 27 ground floor is ideal for our needs, clean. spacious,2 large windows ,view of Mountains and sea to the side ,plus wet room bathroom, comfy beds pillows and quilts ,resulting in 4 good nights sleep, apart from the noisy seagull ha ha. Faith and Gary are great Managers, who will give you any help you may need. From booking in with a really helpful friendly guy Paul(who we encountered a lot, always great guy to help and talk to.) to checking out ,All staff encountered made you feel welcome with friendly smiles ,which goes a long way with me .I did not get all the names, but a shoutout to Jackie, Sarah, Sharon ,really nice girls always helpful, who all work so hard .We ate three nights in the Bistro ,very nice meals, few issues with last meal but not enough to to spoil overall experience ,just grumpy chef .A blonde girl and Cameron great servers ,looking after you so well. We ate from The Serial Griller hut based on the carpark ,honestly the food was really nice and tasty ,the girl owner was so lovely too. What more do you want sitting in the sun, many tables in a large garden with the sea right over the road .Breakfasts plentiful ,in large comfy restaurant. Large carpark. Hoping to stay again. Thank you all at Min Y Mor, Helen and Shaun .xx
- Geoffrey (5/5): - Location and easy walk into centre Rooms were very tired and need refurbishment
All communal areas just look slightly rundown
- Marcus (10/5): -
- SHARON (10/5): - Fantastic hotel, staff, and location. We will definitely be returning
- Sarah (9/5): Lovely place to see sunsets - Great location. Dog friendly hotel. The sunsets from the pub garden were amazing! Staff were friendly. The food we ate here was really good. Nothing
- Sukhvir (10/5): - Yeah
- Ross (6/5): - Good place to stay , very pet friendly.
- Andy (8/5): Great location shame about the weather - Excellent breakfast great value and quality Just the view of a roof from our bedroom …TV outdated and small - bathroom a good standard nice shower too. The corridor light was on and this came through the bottom of our door …not ideal Overall acceptable to good
- Helen (8/5): - Friendly staff. Ideal location, 10min walk along the beach to centre of town. Very Dog friendly. Evening food was nice, breakfast was ok. Room size ideal for a family of four, not smaller as the kids are bigger. Only annoyance was our room was above the fan for the kitchen and it got really hot & noisy. But all in all, decent price for what we wanted
- Martin (10/5): -
- Rebecca (8/5): A lovely stay at a smashing hotel with great staff - The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated within walking distance to the town centre and it is a flat easy walk along the beach. It is directly opposite the beach and welcomes dogs. Although the weather was mild, our room was very warm, but the staff kindly found us a fan. The room was very hot. Our room was on the back and the windows did not open properly due to the fire escape, so it was not the hotels fault!!! But therefor it was warm. We did ask for a fan that was provided. So that was a huge help. I also think it may be good for them to put something on front door so it doesn't blow open so violently when opened in windy weather as this may knock into someone. Perhaps a spring? I don't know if this would be possible
- Debbie Smith (6/5): - Breakfast wasn’t included as we booked through booking.com! A bigger window opening.
- John (8/5): Second time here and would come again. - Breakfast was good but coffee was not good, room was adequate but shower was barely warm. To be fair for the price I thought overall it fulfills my expectations and the sea view with a cold beer on the front goes a long way.
- Frances (6/5): Enjoyable and relaxing - Breakfast and other meals were very good. The beer garden is exceptional with a great view over the beach. House keeping could be better and rooms could do with an update
- Anna (10/5): - Great short break
The location of the hotel was great - local beach on the front door step
We loved the beautiful serene views and the beautiful sunsets
Great food at the hotel
We would definitely stay there again
- Margaret (10/5): - Clean and friendly
- jograv73 (10/5): Absolutely lovely - Amazing location, breathtaking views. Rooms so clean and comfortable. Such a warm welcome from Faith & Gary, staff so friendly and accommodating - can’t do enough for you. All facilities made accessible for our grandparents and anyone with a disability. Food absolutely lovely and good menu choice, service excellent and plenty of garden and outdoor space. Highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again to stay there. Thank you from Jo, Stu, Colin & Enid xxx
- Sillitoe (8/5): -
- Paul (10/5): Exactly what we expected - Lovely Nothing
- Adam (8/5): - Great location. Lovely views. Breakfast was really nice.
