• ロココ (2/5): - 和室4人部屋布団4枚の表示だったのに 2人のカウントになっていて、メールで問い合わせしたのに大丈夫と言われ、着いたら倍とられた。二階の青年達の騒いでるのが2時までうるさくて寝られず、苦情も言うところも人が居なくて苦しかった。お風呂はシャワーのみで強くてでかた悪く、痛かった。
• Shubham (2/5): - Hi, I am sorry to say that Expedia Group has cheated on us!!! I know these are harsh words but unfortunately this is the reality. We, a group of 5 friends, had decided to explore the Hakone on 24 & 25 July 2020. For our stay in Hakone, we decided to book our hotel from a reputed organization i.e. “Expedia group”. On Expedia website we searched for an accommodation (single room) for 5 adults, and we got an offer for 18,182 JPY per night (with taxes it comes to 20,000 JPY). The payments / booking details are given below:- As can be seen in the details above that the booking is for a “Japanese Style Room for 5 Guests”. On 24th evening when we reached at hotel, we got a shock, when front desk staff at hotel reception told us to pay additional 13,000 JPY for the room. We tried to convey to the person at reception that we have booked the room for 5 persons from “Expedia” and the payment has already been made but she insisted that we need to make the additional payment. I paid additional 13,000 JPY. More than commercially, it was a mental harassment for all of us (Especially for me who had booked the hotel). I was under the impression that a reputed travel group such as “Expedia” does not trick their customers with such hidden charges but unfortunately what I experienced was totally different. All in all this spoiled our whole trip. I expect you to look into the matter and let me know how you would be compensating us for all this suffering that we have gone through.

• Francoise (6/5): Mitigé - La maison est agréable mais située un peu loin de tout. Il n'y a pas de bain commun mais une douche spartiate . J'ay ai séjourné un week-end où des jeunes avaient décidé de faire la fête, ce fut extrêmement bruyant.

Pas d'air climatisée dans une des deux chambres bien que la température extérieure affichait près de 40°. Aucune solution de rechange sur deux nuits et absence des olsen pourtant prévu dans l'hôtel. La réception vide la plupart du temps et ne parlant pas un mot d'anglais.
• Verified traveler (6/5): - J'ai reserve via expedia 4 futons. A l'arrivee letanlissement m'en fourni que 2. Negociation impossible malgre ma reservation aux normes. J'ai demande un draps ou une couverture en plus ce qui m'a ete refusé. Salle de bain partagee en travaux ou a l'abandon ... difficile de faire la difference. Puis indique a 12 minutes de la gare vous pouvez doubler le temps voir le tripler si vous etes charges avec des valises ( chemin en escalier exigu et extremement pentu = dangereux)

• Verified traveler (8/5): Adequate. - Some communication issues as limited English and was more difficult to reach then anticipated with heavy suitcases (up a steep hill, narrow street). Only one dinner option open in area. Otherwise was a nice room, clean etc
• Greg (8/5): - Really great spot to stay. Immaculately clean, orderly rooms. Owner is a friendly, personable gentleman. There was almost never any staff on-site so would be difficult for someone with any sort of needs.
• Verified traveler (8/5): - The host(or owner) is very friendly and helpful. She came down looking for us when we have not reached. She recommended us the attractions and how to get there. She speaks chinese too! A plus for us since we cant speak Japanese.
• Ross (8/5): Recommended for the independent traveller - This is a beautiful place to stay. Very traditional. The host was ultra-helpful. The location is good once you've sorted out the buses (Gora is a very steep climb from the house - possible for a fit person without luggage in the daylight but very difficult in any other circumstance). Only one quibble. There is a small kitchen area but no facilities for washing dishes etc and the hosts do not provide this service.

• Mou (8/5): Winter trip - The living area was nice but toilet and bathroom area ice cold since the heat from the air conditioner doesnt reach there. We went there dec 30 th so its probably not a problem when its warm outside.
• Man kuen maggie (6/5): - I booked two rooms but only had one available. They said it’s really full that day. But I booked in advance and fully paid. How come they over sold their rooms! So they could only provided a no toilet no heater and really small room for my husband. Public toilet has no hot water and far away. I feel being cheated !!!!! It’s so cold in Hakone!
• Verified traveler (6/5): 잠만 잘만한 곳 - 다다미방이 궁금해서 간곳인데 겨울이라 히터로만 버티기에는 좀 추웠어요. 더구나 욕조가 없고 근처 온천에 거기도 좀 애매해서 여러모로 좀 아쉬운 일정이었습니다. 그리고 고로 역에서 가려면 경사가 심해서 걷기보다는 버스를 추천합니다.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - The hostel we leased is Japanese style and is very clean and comfortable. The owner is kind and helpful. We need to take bus no. 3 to go, just 2 stops from Gora JR Station, and rhen walked for about 8 minutes. The price is relatively cheap.

• Verified traveler (4/5): Self check in and out! - It is close to Hakone-Yumoto station through a short hike. However getting there is all uphill and at night it is dark and quiet. Do not recommend for single female. I got there in the evening and no one at front desk. I sat and waited for 30mins and tried calling and no one answered. I ended up using Google and found another review that told us it was self check in. So I walked took a key and walked about until I found a room. Room itself was big and comfy. In the morning no one was at front desk. This information needs to be on the posting so others are aware because I surely felt creepy.

• XIN (10/5): 非常舒适的短途旅行 - 房东阿姨漂亮又温柔，给我们介绍了周边的吃喝玩乐。房间内装非常好看超出预期，空间大小和房间视野都很不错，最近桂花开了在房间里都很香，提供的洗发水沐浴露什么的也是花香味道。希望下次来的时候可以泡上自家的温泉了！

• Juan (2/5): No se lo recomiendo a nadie - Llegamos a las 11 de la mañana y no habia nadie en recepcion, habian unos obreros en la cocina y llamaron a una niña de unos 8 años que nos dijo que el checkin era a las 15, asi que dejamos las cosas en la entrada y nos fuimos a ver cosas, volvimos a las 21 y no habia tampoco nadie, una mujer que veia la tele se ofrecio a llamar a la dueña, cuando vino estaba nerviosa, nos hablaba con un traductor del movil japones/ingles y nos dice que es que ha habido mucha gente este finde y que nos iban a dar una “small room” y yo bueno, hemos pagado por una “traditional japanese room” a ver que nos dan... ¡sorpresa! La habitacion de los trastos, con una mini cama, cosas de la señora que estaba viendo la tele y se ofrecio a llamar por telefono, un tendedero con manteles mojados, una olor insoportable, cajas con a saber que, y dice os traigo un futon para q podais dormir los dos, y me trae un edredon y me lo tira al suelo de parquet, a esas horas no habia ya donde ir en un pueblo tan pequeño y encima ya estaba pagado, tuvimos que quedarnos. Para arreglarlo todo, el aire acondicionado no funcionaba y nos puso un ventilador, fuimos a cenar al comedor con comida q habiamos comprado y ¡bingo! cucarachas y para ya completarlo un centipede como una mano en el baño de las chicas y mi amiga no se pudo bañar por miedo. • Verified traveler (4/5): Probably great normally, but not this time - As I think it must be a good experience normally, being put in a (way) smaller room than the one booked, without any compensation makes it a terrible ratio quality/price: 160 AUD for a small single bedroom, with shared bathroom. Apart from that, I must say that it is a very calm and nice neighbourhood, despite the fact that you have to walk a bit to eat (but it has its charm). And the hotel is also quite charming.

Escaliers depuis la gare de gora. Accès par bus ou taxi avec des valises. Quartier résidentiel, il fait marcher pour trouver un restaurant.
• Isaac (6/5): More of an apartment rather than a hotel - Generally, the stay was fine. However there were some hiccups such as the check-in process. Firstly, there was no one at the counter for our check-in and no attempts were made to contact us to inform us of the need to self-check-in. Had we not meet another travel group that was able to contact the host, we would have been stuck at the counter. Secondly, there was a contact number left at the counter for us to contact the host. Unfortunately, no one picked up the phone despite multiple calls (at least 5 times in 30 mins). Additionally, it was worthwhile to note that there was 1 cup that was not washed thoroughly; there were some syrup stains on the cup. Not a major issue since it can be resolved easily. Finally, the shared bathroom was not functioning, there was just 1 vertical shower to be used. The common bath was not filled and not working. The seated shower area was also not working. So if you are expecting to sit down and wash up before soaking your fatigue away, this may not be the ideal apartment for you. That being said, the room was generally cosy and the price is much cheaper than most places in Hakone. The poor shower facilities can be easily overcomed by showering at a local onsen area before heading back to the apartment. It is also worthwhile to note that the apartment is really far from Gora Eki, and you need to walk down a stairway of doom from Gora Eki. We will highly advise against carrying your luggage down the stairs. Do consider taking Bus T instead.
• koichi (10/5): 良い宿です。 - 子供連れで家族で滞在しました。静かで清潔感があり、ゆっくり過ごす事が出来ました。お風呂と食事は有りませんが、ユネッサン等もあるので、外湯に行くのも楽しかったです。 ただ、強羅駅周辺は夜に営業しているお店が少ないので、気をつけないといけません。コンビニはあります。 朝食は室内にポットがあるので、お湯を使って用意しました。 宿泊費を削った分、観光に予算を回す事が出来ました。
